The food was delicious. Very friendly owner and workers. We got complementary dessert for free. Sandwiches were made fresh and with quality ingredients.

How good is this place?? It's so good that after going for the first time yesterday, I want to go back today! I saw on the menu that they had sausage & broccoli rabe. I'm not a huge sausage fan so the man (owner?) said he'd make me a chicken cutlet w/broccoli rabe, provolone on focaccia bread. It was amazing! I was in Italy a few months ago and that sandwich was just as good as any I had there! I will definitely be returning!

Great hospitality, food & service! If you’re looking for fresh Italian food that fills you up; this is the place to go!! I had a Chicken Parm (Fresh bread, saucy, cheesy, and delicious)👌🏽💯🔥

We arrived for a late lunch after finding this place on Google. Rich helped us out and recommended their focaccia with the Arthur, a sandwich I will be bragging about to my friends after finishing off this review. The quality of friendly and welcoming service, deli, burrata, and bread is nothing compared to what I’ve had in south Florida and especially for a solid good Italian sandwich. We added a crispy chicken with the sandwich which was recommended by one of their many regulars hanging out and ordering to-go. They offered us a cannoli and espresso after our early dinner.

Dont walk , run here, fly here , just get here and enjoy anything on the menu !!! Great place and even more awesome people !!

Had the Buto which is like a chicken parm with pink vodka sauce pesto and mozzarella and it was FIREEE. I’m making this place a regular stop for me. Everything about the sandwich was delicious and flavorful, crispy tender chicken, soft bread with a great bite, fresh tasty mozzarella, and exquisite pesto and vodka sauces. To top it all off the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, they gave us great recommendations and I can’t wait to try out the rest of the menu.

I’m at a loss of words, I don’t know even know where to start! Heard about this place so drove from West Palm. Greeted by Antonio when we walked in! We got the Milano and Arthur Ave. Undoubtedly the BEST sandwich shop in all of Florida! I am not even overstating it! Worth the drive and will definitely be back! Thanks Antonio and staff, you are ALL amazing!! 100 stars if I could!

New york italian here who knows sandwiches, this place is INSANE. Walked in and was handed a sample of fresh cheese and pesto, which was amazing. Both of our sandwiches (milano and arthur ave) were phenomenal. The guys behind the counter were genuine and provided great service, you can tell they know good food. This isn't a sandwich you want to skip.

Whatsub is a breath of fresh air in the fast-casual food scene. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels welcoming, clean, and modern. It’s clear they take pride in maintaining a high standard, and it reflects in everything from the spotless counters to the crisp uniforms of the staff. What sets Whatsub apart is its focus on authenticity and quality. Every ingredient feels thoughtfully chosen—fresh vegetables, lean proteins, and perfectly baked bread that isn’t overloaded with sugar or fillers. It’s rare to find a spot where you can indulge in something as comforting as a sandwich while still feeling like you’re making a healthy choice. The menu strikes a balance between classic subs and innovative options for those who like to experiment. I tried the Mediterranean-inspired sub with grilled chicken, roasted veggies, and tzatziki—every bite tasted fresh and vibrant. They also cater to a variety of dietary needs, with plenty of low-carb, gluten-free, and vegan options available. Customer service here is stellar. The staff greets you with genuine smiles and seems eager to make sure your experience is just right. They’re happy to accommodate customizations and even make recommendations based on your preferences. Finally, the price point is incredibly reasonable for the quality you’re getting. You’re not paying a premium for clean, wholesome food—which makes it easy to come back again and again. In a world full of processed fast food, Whatsub feels like the right choice for anyone looking for convenience without compromising on health or taste. Highly recommend!

This is most authentic Italian sandwich shop I’ve seen outside Italy. The food is made in house and you can taste the love in every bite. I recommend getting your sandwich on the focaccia, which is made there. Anthony is always there to take your order and get you a great cappuccino at the end of your meal. Highly recommend checking this place out if you crave an authentic Italian sandwich.

What Sub Deli is exactly what you want in a deli. An employee recommended the Fully Loaded, and they didn’t steer me wrong—it was awesome. Fresh ingredients, made fast, and the whole place has the vibe of a classic NYC corner deli. My only regret? Not asking for mayo on the sandwich. But honestly, it was so good, I barely missed it. I’ll definitely be back!

This is one of the best delis in South Florida. From hot dishes to cold sandwiches the bread is amazing for Florida. They also offer catering and platters. Anthony does the right thing with all the customers. Italian Espresso available also.

The line to the door was a great indication of the amazing sub to come! This small and well-appointment Italian sub shop was filled with loyal customers and delicious menu offerings! There was a tiny bit of a wait as the kitchen was churning out orders and the staff was extremely accommodating, offering espresso and additional drinks just for the wait. This was no problem for me bc good things come to those who wait! I ordered the tuna sub on house-made focaccia with provolone, which came with a drink. When I tell you this was hands down the best tuna sandwich I’ve ever had, I would not be exaggerating. The toasted focaccia was crispy on the outside but still soft when you bit into it. And then the sandwich was stuffed to the brim with fantastic tuna salad with red onion, lettuce, and tomato. I think this is the only sub place I want to visit from now on!

This place is GOOD! We bought a car across the street and celebrated/commiserated at the little sub shop across the street. Staff was SO helpful and told us to trust him with sandwich choice and were glad we did. Both of us loved our sandwiches and the portions were massive and the price was exceptionally reasonable! Stop by!

Words can’t explain this place. A hidden gem from The focaccia bread, prosciutto, mozzarella and balsamic vinaigrette glaze. If that is not enough, top it off with an amazing cannoli or highlight of the day bread, pudding.

Wow is the only word I can come up with to describe my Italian sub here today, I believe it's call all the way on the menu. They made it on their homemade bread (forgot the name) but let me tell you it was hands down the best sub I've ever had and the quality of the meats, tomatoes and ingredients were top notch! And the sub comes included with a soda and they didn't charge extra for toppings. 5 stars from me fellas. Will most definitely visit again when in the area.

I went to this Italian sandwich spot and loved it! I had one with prosciutto, arugula, and stracciatella cheese and it was incredible. My wife got the meatball sandwich, and my son-in-law had the chicken parm—both were delicious too. The portions are huge, and the sandwiches even come with a drink, which is a great touch. The staff was fantastic—friendly, caring, and really want to make sure you’re happy. It’s not a fancy place, and that’s exactly the charm. The casual, comfortable vibe makes you feel right at home.

The owner is incredibly friendly and genuinely passionate about the food he serves, which makes the experience even better. Antonio and his team are by far are the best sandwich makers in FL. I had seen food reviews and online influencers post up at his shop in Deerfield, FL. I went to check it out for myself 2 weeks ago, since then I've been back there 5 times. Some visits I brought friends, another visit I picked up a sandwich for an employee of mine for takeout, other times i have went to enjoy a sandwich. Everyone I have referred over to Antonio has expressed the same thing I feel...if you're craving an amazing sandwich, you won't find a better place to done at. This 5 star review is from our experience at the What Sub gas station location. PLEASE DO NOT be turned away by the fact that the Boca location is in a gas station! This is without a doubt the best Italian sandwich in South Florida, the Arthur Ave on focaccia was perfect! Fresh focaccia with imported Italian meats, mozzarella, and a touch of sweetness from the balsamic vinaigrette. Since it was our first time, Davide did not want us to miss out on any of the experience so he first allowed us to sample the prosciutto di Parma, which is part of the Arthur Ave sandwich, and threw in 2 cannolis, handmade in front of us, with our order because we simply could not leave without them. We also got the Buto, chicken cutlet with vodka and pesto. Both sandwiches were exceptional to go along with the excellent service and care from this crew. I highly recommend this shop and can’t wait to get to their Deerfield Beach location!

Absolutely run to WhatSub Deli at 1330 S. Federal Highway—you won't regret it. Owned by Antonio Spadaro, this place takes Italian deli to a whole new level, importing top-notch ingredients (virtually everything is imported; he only uses Boar’s Head for the basics like turkey and ham). The real game-changers are the bread baked in-house, including delicious focaccia and crusty seeded rolls. Just note that they close at 5 PM, and the menu is curated and short, but what they do is superb. The backstory of WhatSub is as rich as its food. It’s related to Casa Della Mozzarella in the Bronx and Spadaro Roman Kitchen in New Rochelle. Initially opened as Spadaro, taking over the old Moe’s Deli space on Federal (it still has the original signage), the deli switched to the name "WhatSub" because the former name set customer expectations for a full-service Italian restaurant, which wasn't what Antonio was going for. Try the Sicilian-style lasagne with besamella (a creamy bechamel) and a sweet Sicilian-style sauce—it's exceptional. The meatballs are another must-try: all-beef, breaded, deep-fried Roman style, served with a rich pink sauce that’s phenomenal. The “Arthur Ave” sandwich on focaccia with aged prosciutto, arugula, stracciatella, and sundried peppers? A masterpiece. We also tried chicken cutlets and a sopressata made with fennel which were fantastic. Could we have ordered more, yeah, but then I wouldn’t have been able to move afterwards. I did have a complimentary shot of espresso, which helped give me the extra energy to get up out of my seat. He’s working on some new desserts including cannolis which he is making next week. Antonio’s place often runs out of popular items like arancini, so you better get there early. WhatSub Deli is a cut above your typical sub shop and a true gem in Deerfield Beach.

These sandwiches truly compare to the flavor you’ll find in Italy. Right when we arrived we were offered samples! We were given complimentary cannoli’s due to unfortunately being out of the focaccia bread but the sandwich either way was delicious! Visited 12/2024, can’t wait for their new location to open!!

World Class sandwich shop. For the last 30 years, I thought the best sandwich was from a place in Boca that shall remain nameless. Since I found this place, everything has changed. I've now tried several of their sandwiches, and a lot of other things on the menu and everything is so fresh and so amazing. The owner is a really great person as well.

Another place I really wanted to try during winter break is What'Sub. This authentic New York style, Italian deli has been heavily featured on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube because they are that good! The food is top notch but so is the friendly service given by owner Antonio Spadaro and staff. What'Sub is located in plaza next to Baja Cafe. It still says Moe's Deli and Grill outside. I stopped by near closing time to pick up something for dinner and I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. I was even given some cheese to try while I waited. The majority of the meat, and cheese and other sandwich toppings are imported from Italy. They also have a market that sells Italian oil, pasta, jams, balsamic vinegar, meat, and cheese. The inside is not frills but there are a few tables inside and a couple more out front. After consulting the menu I felt like a hot sandwich and I decided on the chicken parm sub. The thin cutlets were cooked perfectly. No chewy, rubber chicken here. With the sauce and thick mozzarella, it was perfection. I was even given extra red sauce to dip my sandwich in. You can also get the sandwich made with meatballs or eggplant. My meal came with a drink and I saw they had Sanpellegrino, an Italian sparkling soda. What'Sub has the tag line seeds or no seeds. I got one of the last rolls of the day so it was seeds for me which was fine. You can't go wrong either way because all of the bread is baked in house. If you do have a preference come earlier in the day because they can sell out of popular items. Antonio recommended I come back to try the focaccia and I will along with the social media popular Arthur Ave sandwich made with prosciutto di parma, arugula, stracciatella, and sundried peppers. They also offer Italian specialties that include arancine alla carne and al burro, meat lasagna, meatballs, pasta, and eggplant tower, salads, and other hot and cold sandwiches. Whatever you pick, you are going to love it!

WOW, don’t miss this gem. First, know the sign on the building says Mor’s Deli but you are in the right spot. The sandwiches are awesome! Stopped in for a sandwich to go on way to the beach. Got The Arthur Ave. and it lives up to its social media hype! Super fresh and delicious! Good food, when they say seeds or no seeds they mean it ! The seeded bun is sesame seed overload, its very good and soft rolls. Sauces are spiced perfectly. Slightly pricey but much better than the average sub shop.

Tastiest subs in Deerfield. Great staff and atmosphere. Awesome variety too. Went there after seeing a coupon on my Winn Dixie receipt, but they said the 50% Off offer was a misprint, so just keep that in mind if you go considering to use the coupon. I ordered The Mortadela but when I got home and checked the sandwich it was The Arthur Ave, so that was pretty disappointing (especially since the mortadela costs more). Regardless of those “mistakes”, it was tasty and the focaccia was great. Will for sure be back.

Honestly I was really excited to try this place after seeing about it on instagram and TikTok. I placed a to go order online and ordered a sandwich and a drink. Online it said it came with the drink. Picked up my order and when I got home there was just a sandwich and a sticky note that said “we now charge extra for drinks” which is fine but had I have known I would’ve purchased one or at least stopped else where for a drink. I probably should’ve check my order before leaving so that’s my bad for assuming. Sandwich was just okay, not terrible. Just felt like this was really unprofessional and should’ve been changed on their online ordering before hand.
