Myls was a wonderful server. Very attentive and friendly formative. And Nice! We loved the avocado toast, eggs Benedict, monkey bread, and mimosas! Don’t be afraid of the $31 bottomless mimosa price, individual mimosas are only $9 each and really big! Can’t believe we didn’t come here sooner!

1. Reservation: recommended especially for Friday and Saturday when they have live music. 2. Food: quite good. Especially for restaurant week, it is great! 3. Drinks: strong, delicious and lots of variety 4. Service: great! very polite and leaves you alone. 5. Live music! 6. Beautiful interior, spacious, tall ceiling and well lit.

This was my second visit to this location. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by staff members. They let me check out the place before being seated. The bar area is self-seating.I chose to sit in the bar area...the only remaining big table with high chairs/table...it was packed! The happy hour is pretty awesome here. They have daily happy hour from 4-6 pm. There is also a power hour from 3-4, where everything on the happy hour menu is $5, which is a little too early!! The menu includes regular bar food and a variety of drinks (as shown in the picture). We ordered the following: -Let that "man"go - in general it's an iced drink, so I'd avoid. -Spicy pina marg - another iced drink. It was ok. -I'm Ron Burgundy (2x)- this had a nice strong coffee flavor, doesn't come with ice; I would highly recommend it...they made it so good!!! -Maker's mini nachos - There proportion of chips to toppings was off there wasn't enough toppings and too many chips, but there was a lot of cheese. -Calamari was a good portion, and tasty -Chicken tenders - they were delicious and moist There are so many items to choose from on the power hour/happy hour menu. I would definitely recommend lil B and the wings. There is plenty of parking available in nearby garages, I believe free after 5pm. There is also timed/paid parallel parking. Would I return? definitely!

This was my first time at Makers and I am genuinely so impressed with the food. My family and I came here for brunch - we got the avocado toast, monkey bread, and eggs Benedict. Everything was delicious. We can’t recommend the monkey bread enough, it’s perfectly sweet and salty, gooey, and melt in your mouth. We had Myles as our waiter and he was wonderful. So kind and attentive and always ensured we had what we needed. We will definitely be back!

After flying in from London, I was absolutely starving and wanted to find some good food close to the hotel. I decided to come to Makers Union as the menu online appealed to me, especially when I saw the chicken and waffles. A friendly lady sat me down at my booth, and I looked over the menu to decide what to have. I was then greeted by one of the best servers I’ve had in a long while (Shoutout to you Reef), who took my order with so much energy and charisma, which made me smile and gave the best first impressions for the rest of my experience. Like I saw on the menu, I went for the chicken and waffles, to which Reef warned me that most people are unable to finish it in one sitting…well after my flight I was up for the challenge. Before receiving my meal, I went for the 20oz cider, which was really good in itself. Once I got my main, I was absolutely shocked at the sheer size of the plate, and could definitely see what Reef meant. Well, I can proudly say I beat even the locals at their own game, as I finished the whole thing, leaving just bone and the batter. The chicken and waffles were absolutely delicious, and they went so well together despite family at home telling me I was crazy to mix the two. After my main, I decided to have my first ever key lime pie too, which I was told was made in house. This was extremely delicious and sweet, but my gosh I regretted eating so much haha. All in all, my experience at makers union was fantastic! The food was amazing, the service was beyond perfect, and the atmosphere was nice. I also loved my chat with Reef. Will definitely be back in the future!

This place lived up to its billing! My wife and I both ordered the Hickory Salmon and it was honestly the tastiest salmon we've had in recent memory. Our son had the 'Fish & Chips' and he liked it a lot too! McKenzie was our waitress and she was tremendous. Great atmosphere and great service!

Busted $35 AYCE Brunch. No complaints on anything. Highlights were the Lobster Eggs Benedict, the Chicken and Waffles, and the Breakfast Nachos. The Monkey Bread was my favorite single item on the menu.

My wife and I have been on a road trip across america in the month of December and we decided to stop by this restaurant when we were driving through Virginia, best decision ever! It’s been a month and I gotta say after hitting 11 states this might’ve been the best restaurant we’ve been too. I forgot the name of this dish but I remember us having a really nice and charming server by the name of bella who listed to my wife and I talk nonstop about our trip and recommended this dish for us, amazing put on!

They have a fairly simple menu (I say that in a good way) with a lot of good stuff. I had the f ies chicken sandwich and I was impressed at the juicy chicken and the crunchy but delicate batter. The fries were hot and crunchy. The grilled chicken salad my wife had was great as well. The service was very friendly and efficient.

I love love love happy hour here. Great food, drinks, and prices. Fry tower and fish tacos are an absolute must. Casa amor crush and Let that man-go are my go-to drinks, as well as White Lotus from the tini takeover menu. Service depends on the server but is mostly decent.

Excellent place for Sunday brunch! They offer a freshly made brunch buffet. The restaurant has a cozy vibe and is nicely decorated. The food was delicious. Our waitress was excellent!!! Free Parking (weekend) was available at a nearby garage.

We had a wonderful brunch at Makers Union! The inside vibes looked incredibly stylish, but being a nice day we chose to enjoy our brunch outdoors. Daniel, our wait staff was friendly and amazing! The mimosas, avocado toast, and Makers Scramble - all were delish!

Before we get into the food let me just talk about Jack M our waiter. He was awesome! He was a great addition to a great meal. Jack made great suggestions and we accepted each one willingly. He had knowledge about the items we order and just great conversation. If you go look for Jack!!! He will make the meal 20% better. Now for my meal, every dish from the appetizers to the dessert were excellent, the lamb lollipops were delicious. I needed the dinner portion, but settled for the appetizer, then the wings were fried to perfection. Don’t asked me why, but I offered the chicken in waffle and ended up with a table full of chicken. But i didn’t complain because each chicken had a different taste! Then to top it off with the bread pudding had me rolling out the seat!!! Yes, I highly suggest this restaurant and Pythia location.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. The ambiance was vibrant yet relaxed, with the DJ spinning classic oldies hits that added to the charm and energy of the space. The service was nothing short of excellent. Our server was incredibly attentive, ensuring that every need was met and making us feel right at home throughout the evening. Now, let’s talk about the food, simply outstanding. Every dish was top-notch, starting with the Short Rib Cheese Melt. It was absolutely heavenly, so tender and flavorful that I felt like I was floating. The Bang Bang Shrimp was another highlight, crispy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor. It’s an absolute must-try! To cap off our night, we indulged in a cotton candy dessert, and I have to say, it was the perfect finish to an unforgettable meal. It was fun, whimsical, and utterly delicious, definitely the highlight of the evening, especially as we were celebrating an early birthday. From the great food to the lively atmosphere and exceptional service, this place exceeded all expectations. If you’re looking for an incredible dining experience, this is the spot to be!

This was our first visit to Makers Union. Just two of us on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was nice, and service team was attentive but sometimes a little too attentive. The food was delicious, they gave generous portions of salmon and ham! I had the salmon poke bowl and my husband had ham and eggs, we shared an appetizer of spinach and artichokes and sparkling water and my husband had mimosas. Overall it was a bit pricey but enjoyed the food in a nice restaurant and we plan to return.

We spent Saturday evening here with my friend and had such a lovely time! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the drinks were delicious, and the food was just as tasty. We truly enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. Definitely a place we’d love to come back to!

Daniel was awesome and recommended the Tomahawk. We ordered basically everything he recommended and it was all excellent even the drinks! Not pictured are our espresso martinis. Yuzu lemon drop, and spicy margherita. Note, don’t throw away people’s side dishes when packing their take home box. Other than that, awesome service and food.

My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day and really enjoyed our dinners. We reserved a table and glad we did, because the place was pretty full when we got there. Really impressed with the service, friendly serving staff, and we were served quickly. The meals we had were excellent, very tasty, good portion sizes. Just a great experience overall, probably the best we've had at any restaurant in recent years. We will definitely be back!

I just dined here with a couple of my friends. My server, Winter, was attentive and friendly, making sure I had everything I needed. I started with the Makers Nachos, which were incredible and had a generous portion. For my main course, I enjoyed the Pesto Ravioli with Lobster, and it was amazing. The manager, Dylan, also checked in on me, ensuring everything was perfect. definitely recommend eating here.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Makers Union in Reston! From the moment we arrived, the service stood out as truly top-notch. Daniel, our server, was nothing short of amazing. He was knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly attentive throughout our meal. Daniel's recommendations were spot on - everything he suggested was delicious. His friendly demeanor and deep understanding of the menu really elevated our dining experience. The food itself was very good--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Daniel talked us into the Tomahawk special that came with salads, appetizers, dessert and the most amazing steak! Combined with the impeccable service, it made for a memorable night out. We had a super time and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience picking up a DoorDash order thanks to Eli. From the moment I walked in, he greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel welcome. He offered me a place to sit while I waited, checked on the status of the order, and kept me updated. He even brought me a glass of water, which was incredibly thoughtful. His kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail truly stood out. Eli is a fantastic employee and a great representation of this store.

Came in for a few drinks with friend. There was live music, which was nice. The bartender was great (sorry didn't catch his name). I was indecisive about what I wanted, he asked me some question about what i like and then asked if I wanted to be surprised, I said sure, the cocktail he made was great and just what I was looking for, a Paper Airplane is what he said it was. Thanks for introducing me to something new, look forward to coming again for a surprise cocktail!

Such incredible plates of food! And in a lovely atmosphere with attentive and welcoming servers. I enjoyed dinner here during restaurant week and so got to enjoyed many different plates on the menu. Nashville chicken tenders, Brussels sprouts, seafood linguini, halibut (this one was TO die for!!), bread pudding, and passion fruit tart. All these dishes tasted above and beyond American cuisine. The flavors are popping. A great place to feel comfortable and enjoy.

I’ve visited this establishment on two separate occasions. The first time, I was attended to by Shireef. He is an exceptional server in every conceivable way. He is highly perceptive, remarkably attentive, and operates with impressive efficiency. Whenever I require something, he anticipates it without needing to ask and promptly provides exactly what I need, which is incredibly compelling from a customer’s perspective. On the second occasion, Miles was our server, and he was equally outstanding. Extremely respectful and professional, he has a keen understanding of how to guide you in selecting the right dish. I wholeheartedly recommend this location.

I came in yesterday for brunch and Rosa was our server. She was incredible. She knew the menu so well and gave us great recommendations. We got the family style brunch and loved it. She was so kind and treated us like the only people there! We will definitely be back for the great food and would love to have Rosa again!

We truly had the best brunch at Makers Union thanks to Myls. I brought some old coworkers of mine to try out this spot with me. From start to finish he handled everything before we could even ask. From suggestions to clearing the table, refilling drinks and just making us happy to be here! 10/10 energy!

We went here for our business Galentines brunch and we had an amazing time. Let me start with the drinks!!!! Sooo delicious, creative and one of the best expresso martinis I’ve had in a while. We had the family style brunch and even tho is an all you can eat the food was delicious, warm, just overall spectacular. But the best part of this whole experience was Myles our sever! Just WOW!!!! Amazing personality and service, just so attentive. Definitely 5 start on service. 100% recommend this place.

The food was flavorful, well-prepared, and offered a nice variety—everything we tried was delicious. The wait staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. Management was visible and approachable, checking in to ensure everything was going smoothly, which really added to the overall experience. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, and the service made the visit feel seamless and enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!

It's very rare that I'm wow'd by an order via delivery services. It seems as though the quality differs between in house and to-go. But this was a pleasant surprise! Every so often I get a hankering for a fish sandwich and this place will now be my go to! After I submitted my order via delivery service, I called the restaurant to request the toppings be packaged separately from the cod. The gentleman started it would be" no problem" and that he'd 'get it started right now'. And that he did! The cod itself was sublime - flavor, freshness, breading (if you can even call it that)! The soft bun just took it to another level! I need to start planning a trip in-house. Well done!

Great meal and evening out. Good was excellent. The brussel sprouts appetizer was tasty and the halibut was awesome. The seasonal dessert with passion fruit was a perfect finish to the meal. Loved the live music. As good as the food and music were, the best part of the evening was the service. Our waiter Reef was incredible, gave great service but did not hover, gave great recommendations for our meal and he was pleasant, funny and all around nice guy. Service could not have been better

Manager Dylan was truly extraordinary at Makers Union in Reston, Virginia. From the moment we arrived, he was welcoming, professional, and incredibly attentive. Dylan went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that we had a great experience. His leadership clearly shows in the positive atmosphere and top notch service. Makers Union is lucky to have him. Highly recommend!

We had an incredible experience at Makers Union! The atmosphere was vibrant and fun, but what really made our visit special was Rosa. Her hospitality was top notch she was so attentive and welcoming that we felt right at home from the moment we sat down. It’s rare to find service this genuine and professional. If you’re heading to Reston Town Center, definitely look for Rosa; she kept the great vibes going all night. We’ll be back for sure!

Our visit to Makers Union Reston was outstanding from start to finish. Both Dylan and Eli, the managers, went above and beyond to make sure our experience was flawless. Their genuine hospitality and attention to detail truly set the tone for the evening. The food was exceptional — we started with the crispy Brussels sprouts, perfectly caramelized with a touch of hot honey, and followed with the Makers Classic Burger and the chicken & waffles. Every dish was flavorful, beautifully plated, and served hot. The burger was juicy with a perfectly toasted brioche bun, and the waffle had that ideal balance of crisp and fluffy. The cocktails were equally impressive — fresh, balanced, and clearly crafted with care. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the team worked seamlessly under Dylan’s leadership. Makers Union Reston is the kind of place that makes you want to linger — great energy, amazing food and drinks, and management that truly cares. We’ll absolutely be back!

I had an amazing experience at Makers Union in Reston! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and energetic, with a perfect mix of modern style and comfort. The food was absolutely outstanding — everything came out fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients and put care into every dish. Whether you're going for brunch, lunch, or dinner, you honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The service was just as impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of without being overbearing. They were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Overall, Makers Union exceeded expectations in every way. Great food, excellent service, and a fantastic vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

All in all a very good experience for five people dinner. Would go again for sure. Fried chicken was delicious and just right. Burger was very tasty and juicy but the bread couldn’t hold the juice from the burger. Chicken wings were pretty tasty. Mac n Cheese was delicious.

Makers Union at 1811 Library Street in Reston, Virginia, opened in 2019 with the goal of being a modern neighborhood pub. Their motto, “Made for the People,” fits the space, the menu, and the overall atmosphere. Makers is a solid choice if you’re looking for a lively pub with better-than-average food, attentive service, and a versatile menu. Prices lean high, but portions and quality usually justify the spend. Go for brunch, lunch, or dinner. On our visit, we enjoyed the Makers Steak & Fries — a flatiron steak with chimichurri, grilled broccolini, and parmesan garlic butter fries ($22). The Thai She Crab Soup ($9) was lighter and more aromatic than the heavy Southern version, with lemongrass and coconut milk, though small shell fragments did show up. The Makers Wings (6 for $13); 3 Buffalo, 3 Old Bay all unimpressive. I had read a review that said: "There is plenty of sauce, so it's not dull and dry (get an extra napkin).” The Buffalo wings coating was about as dry as the Old Bay rub - which was excessive. Far from “the best that I have ever had.” The family-style unlimited brunch ($34 adults, $13.95 kids under 10) is a highlight and caught my eye for when we bring the grandkids. The drinks list is thoughtful: cocktails and mocktails are well-crafted, and the beer menu balances local craft with national staples. The atmosphere is polished yet comfortable: exposed brick, warm lighting, and TVs over the bar for game-day energy, plus a patio that shines in warmer months. Even the bathrooms carry thoughtful design touches — rare for a pub. Verdict: Not the cheapest spot in Reston, but I would say a reliable go-to for brunch with friends, a casual dinner, or a steak-and-cocktail night.

Went there on Father's Day and waited for 50 minutes beyond our reservation time for a party of 8. It was very hectic. But once we got a table the server was nice and attentive. The food was overall very good. My favorite dishes were the brussel sprouts, steak and french fries. The classic burger was decent as was the crab cake benedict and pancakes.

My family and I ate here after church one Sunday. Never heard of this place but saw a tiktok about it and the food looked good so we tried it. They had an unlimited brunch option and a la carts. We went for the a la carts. We started with the caramel macchiato and another festive seasonal drink (don’t remember the name) and at the same time we also placed our orders. While the server promptly came with our waters, our macchiato and alcohol drinks took quite a while to come to our table. When they did finally come, they tasted great! Food: I ordered a bacon cheese burger that was cooked exactly how I asked with crunchy hot fires in a basket. My husband ordered a breakfast hash but said it was cold and looking at it, I could tell that it was so that was a bit disappointing. Atmosphere: the restaurant was spacious and beautifully decorated with Christmas decor. It was literally freezing outside and the restaurant was nice and warm. Overall I would try this place again and maybe next time do the unlimited brunch to try more options

Wow! My husband and I decided to give this place a try last night for our date night, and we were both very pleased with our first experience. This place was booming last night. There was a very large party being hosted in the front of the restaurant last night. We had a reservation that I made earlier that day, so i was a little shocked when the host tried to sit us at the tiniest 2 top table. We paused and noticed multiple 4 tops open and requested a larger table, which the host and manager graciously accommodated our request. I understand that places will keep the 4 tops open for larger parties but we were ordering a lot of food and there were at lesst 4 or 5 open tables around us this was at around 8:30. There would have been no way our meal would have fit on that tiny 2 top table, so I'm very thankful we were able to get a larger table. It took a while, like 15-20 minutes for our cocktails to come out, but when they finally did, they were DELICIOUS! I had an amazing espresso martini to start. Like when I say it was so good, it was so good! My husband had the Life After Death, which I ended up having for my second drink. Again, I totally understand that this was due to the bar being behind because of the large party. Our food was delicious as well, and there were no issues with timing when it came to how our food arrived. We had the Main Event Tomahawk Steak with broccolini & parmesian French fries. Dessert blew me away! We thought our dessert was going to be one to share..nope we each got our own plate. The bread pudding was PHENOMENAL! It was served warm with a scoop of the best vanilla ice cream, and the strawberries were some of the best strawberries we've had as of lately! Overall, we had a great experience, and our server was so sweet! We could tell she was very busy, but she was great and the perfect amount of attentiveness! The tiny hiccups we experienced were not enough to steer us away and we look forward to coming back and trying something new from the menu!

I had a dinner with a friend at Makers Union tonight, and we have mixed feelings. My shrimps and chicken sandwich were very good. Chicken was not only tender, but also, surprisingly, quite spicy (the Nashville hot option). Shrimps have a nice coating and were full of flavor. Frites were just average, and bit too greasy. The biggest problem, however, was with the steak, which - although well prepared - wasn't tender enough, what you should expect for this price. So overall, I recommend only the shrimps and sandwich. The service was quick and all the servers were kind and professional.

Me and my friend went to Makers Union for lunch the other day, which was only my second time visiting. We got there about an hour after the restaurant opened and ended up being the only customers for a little while before others started coming in. That was perfect for me — calm, quiet, and no rush. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure everything came out just right. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries, and it was delicious — crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My friend got the chicken and waffles, and she absolutely loved it. We both had flavored lemonades, which were just okay, not bad but not great either. Overall, everything else was excellent. The food, the service, and the relaxed atmosphere made for a great lunch experience. I’ll definitely be going back again soon.

We went for brunch and I’d say it was just ok. We sat a a high top table and the bartender was our waiter: he was too overwhelmed so service was slow. I got the breakfast nachos, hot honey chicken fingers and roasted Brussel sprouts: just ok. I had their Bloody Mary drink and it was all tomatoes juice. The atmosphere was great but the food and service sub-par

We returned here on New Years Eve for the second time. We arrived at 7pm and were promptly seated. Our waitress came by and greeted us and took drink orders. We received our drinks, and she took our appetizer and dinner orders in an appropriate time. Our appetizers came and midway through our appetizer s our bread basket arrived. Our appetizers were luke warm our lamb chop lollipops were 3 different temperatures, which was disappointing but they were still delicious. The crab bisque was delicious but served Luke warm. Midway through our appetizers our main course arrived! It was disappointing because everything was delicious but was served poorly. Our appetizer plates were not removed until we finished our dinner. Desert was very good . We enjoy the restaurant and will come again, but we hope that they will fix their issues with service. It was friendly but not good!

W

Super disappointed. Everything on the menu looked great but we tried to order one appetizer and were told they were out of. We tried to order a half dozer oysters but we were told they were also out of those. I’m not sure how you run out of menu items on a Friday evening around 530-6p. Service was terrible too. We sat at the bar, which was busy but had open seats and 3 people behind the bar at one time. Our order was taken, the bartender walked away to talk to a few women at the end of the bar and then had to come back and ask us what we ordered all over again. Once I got my beer, the glass was straight out of the dishwasher and still was dirty. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak medium and it was so undercooked I almost sent it back. Had I ordered medium rare it would have probably still been breathing. As we were eating, not once did someone ask us if we wanted another drink even though we both sat there with empty glasses for a little bit. Had to snag a different bartender to get drinks. I had pretty high hopes coming in but left really dissatisfied. Food tasted good, service and experience were terrible. Do not recommend

We go to makers union pretty often, but this review is for new year’s specifically. We went last night for the prix fixe menu they had advertised on instagram, and they ran out of half of the “for the table” section, some of the apps, some of the specialty drink options, and all of the desserts on the menu by the time they served us. Service was very slow, we had to get dessert to go (one we didn’t even want, but we got because we thought we had already paid for it) and then we found out that they were charging each course separately so we could have avoided a $60 dessert charge altogether. The “complimentary champagne toast” advertised was unknown to our server and the rest of the staff, but they honored it for us “just this once”. I felt for them since they seemed to be short staffed on NYE, but they should have prepared for the amount of people and been informed of the instagram advertisement. If the menu was only half available, we shouldn’t have had to pay for the full amount of the prix fixe. I hope they coordinate better if we come back for another specialty offer like this one, or don’t advertise something the staff is unaware of.
