Avis sur La Locanda del Gallese Riomaggiore
The pasta and desert here is certainly amazing and I’d recommend to anyone. Biassa is a lovely place and this a lovely restraint in the middle of it. However the service was not remarkable and seemed to favour the locals much more than the tourists.
5/5 it is. Even though it was saturday and we had no reservation, they found us a table. The place was full, still the staff was well organised and friendly. Food and wine delicious and fresh. Will definately recommend.
Brilliant. Everything. Such an experience you can have only in the rural Italy. Reservation made from our lokal host. Traditional Italian recipes. Lokal dishes-I strongly recommend Panigacci and Testaroli. Very good house wine. Typical atmosphere for a village inn, although the people are coming dressed with costumes and elegant clothes. I am eagerly waiting to come back to this wonderful place.
Dishes well served, good food, the staff is a bit too hurry and impacient with tourists that doesn’t speak Italian, though the service and food were great. We set close to the fire, was a cozy for a cold night. Be aware the “farinagli” (pancaques made in the clay dishes) come with a lot of ram and salami. Ask only for the pancakes if you dont want take the whole thing.
Spectacular food. We had Porchetta, Caniglio (rabbit), and Ravioli Cacio e Pepe (the best outside Rome). Our doggo was welcome and enjoyed the meal as much as we did. The table wine (a bottle of red is actually on the table when you sit down) was a sparkling Lambrusco. Beautiful. We also got to see the Milan Champions League semi final. A perfect evening. 11 out of 10.
The food and service was fantastic. Real authentic pasta and mouth watering. We had made a reservation the day before (highly recommended as it’s one of the few restaurants in the town) and we’re the first ones to arrive. Will say we felt a bit awkward and uncomfortable being seated away from everyone else that arrived (everyone else was under a tent in the main patio) and we were the only ones off to the side alone. C’est la vie, just something to consider. Do recommend it to everyone visiting.
We were a little bit before opening time but we asked if we already could enter the restaurant, the staff was not happy with us sitting there and we didn't feel welcome. The meat was dry but the pasta was fresh. It seems they only like locals . Around the corner there is a nice pizza place i recomend .
Very very bad experience. The boss of the place was super rude, like he don’t even like customers. Especially tourists – he look at us like we are stupid or annoying. We just wanted a nice dinner but the Restaurant Manager was extremely rude and the Food was average at best!!. Also the bill was way too high – they charged us more than the menu said!!! Worst place we eat on our trip. Don’t go!!!
The food is solidly good. But be careful - the owner (bald and tattooed) treated us like dirt. You get the plates slammed down like I personally wouldn't even throw food at a dog's feet. The dislike towards non-Italians is very noticeable. In addition, we are charged for things that we definitely didn't order, resulting in a price of €50 per person (I'm happy to pay that - but then it has to be worth it). Sorry, no matter how good the food is. This guy is anything but a cordial host. The bad comments about him are definitely justified. He will probably reply and deny everything. It's a shame, because basically everyone in this place is friendly. But there always has to be a black sheep. And just to let you know - that’s NOT a fake comment. We’ve been there yesterday!
Denied drinks and food two nights in a row, even though they are open and people are inside enjoying themselves. I guess they don’t like non-Italian people. I’d rather take my money somewhere else, maybe the nice pizzeria a few meters away called Tra Monti e Mare. There I felt welcome and the service is amazing.
