Coco Garden or “Cocos” as we fondly refer to it as, is one of my favorite hidden gems in Monroe County. I’ve been here for Lunch and ordered take out more times than I can count. Over the years I’ve tried quite a few different dishes, but got to the point where I narrowed down my all time favorite. The Hokkien Char Mee, with the Chicken Wing appetizer. When I sit down the most amazing hostess jokes with me that I don’t need a menu and the dish is already being made. Coco’s will forever be one of my favorite spots to grab lunch, amazing food, amazing people. A Malaysian masterpiece.
Best Pad Thai I've ever had. Tried most noodle dishes. Very authentic. Owner is very nice.
This is an amazing restaurant! So many options and all have been delicious! The coconut rice is the best ever! 10/10 would recommend!
I love the food and the people of this family owned restaurant. I was told by natives that is very authentic… and to me is always fresh and flavorful. My favorites are the Rothi, fried rice and I love to get the fresh coconut juice too!
We tried these dishes and they were all finger liking good. Sarang Burong is a Fried Taro Stuffed with Shrimp, Chicken, Vegetables And Cashew Nuts that looks like a pie. Roti was an appetizer that was so delicious that I could eat it all day. Try also the coconut shrimps with fried coconut shreds, baisel and onions.
We have been going here for 6 years. Consistently delivers great authentic flavors. It’s impossible to have a mediocre meal here. NEW EDIT: It has now been 9 years of us frequenting this restaurant. I had always joked with my now husband that we would have them cater for our wedding… AND WE DID! 🥂💍🎉🥳
First time trying this place and surprised I’ve never come here before. We ordered for pick up and service was kind and pleasant (my bf has been here before for dine in and said service remained consistent). We ordered Sambal Chicken and Beef Rendang. We both enjoyed it. The sambal was not that spicy even though the staff described it over the phone as almost medium spice. I love the Beef rendang, beef was tender and delicious. Asked for chili oil on the side and that hit the spot. They have plenty of unique, fresh tasty dishes. Will try other ones next time 😊
This place is a hidden gem! Bypass the Golden Coral and try here instead. Specializing in Malaysian cuisine they also offer a wide selection of popular Chinese, Thai, and Indian dishes. I tried their Roti Canai, my first time trying this dish, it was amazing. I can vouch for the Sambal chicken and Malaysian style sweet and sour chicken. You will not be disappointed for visiting!
I've been here a few times. Very good food with huge portions. I especially enjoyed the Mango chicken, and Sweet & Sour Chicken.
Probably the only good restaurant for Malaysian Cuisine you can find in the area. Foods are overall authentic and very delicious but I have to say I’m very disappointed of the Nasi Lemak which should be the only thing that can’t go wrong in a Malaysian restaurant. It just doesn’t feel and taste right. It has cold Banchan like side dish on the hot plate as well.
I ordered Singapore noodles when I was in Charlotte, North Carolina and they were superb. Now I know you don’t get the same type made from different people, but when I ordered it from this, I was hoping it was going to be at least good. They were dry no sauce at the bottom very very light curry flavor. I paid $15+ for not a lot. I guess I am on the hunt for some good Singapore noodles. I feel cheated with the flavor, amount and price.
I had lunch here with my daughter and I ordered the lunch size sesame chicken with coconut rice. The pieces of sesame chicken were so overcooked you couldn't even get your fork to pierce them. They were like leather and we could barely chew them!
I'm Malaysian. The owner is actually from China but really does do justice to the food of the region showcasing thai, singaporean and malaysian dishes. I love the vibe, its low key and service is impeccible. Food portions are big! Flavour is more palatable and enjoyable than the other south east asian joints in rochester. So if you need your fix, this place is a very safe bet.
Went into this store today for the first time to pick up an order. When I got to the restaraunt one of the staff was sweeping up something that was broken on the floor. She hadn't acknowledged I was there. After she swept up whatever was broken she walked back to the back of the restaraunt again without acknowledging that I was there. I finally said "excuse me, I'm here to pick up an order" that I noticed right away upon entering the store. She spoke loudly and said just a minute and walked back to the restaraunt again. So I took a seat until someone was able to help me. I assumed she sent an older woman to the front because she asked me who was I picking up for and I gave her the name. She turned around and handed me the packed bag I noticed upon entering the store. Now, when I first got there and explained I was picking up an order a young Asian looking girl wearing big black glasses acted like I had done something to her. She is very rude and not a people person at all. Im not sure why she would be at the front of the store when she clearly lacks hospitality to first time patrons like myself. I will never eat at this restaraunt and suggest no one else does either. It sucks to go into an establishment and the staff act as if they are doing you a favor when clearly its the other way around. If you do not know how to treat your PAYING customers then you should not be in business. Be nicer to people or better yet stay home. The world needs more love and less misery coming from staff who act like customers owe them something. Humble yourself and be kind to others. Its the least you can do. I do not recommend this establishment.
