Avis sur Ricci's Rochester
I’m completely hooked on the eggplant parm dish I’ve had it at least 5 times now and each time it’s consistently hot delicious and the huge portion can be split with my boyfriend . It’s the best Italian food in the Rochester area
We have eaten here for years and it is unfortunate that google highlights the first three reviews as being poor. That is totally unfair. Good Italian food and established family restaurant. Never had a bad meal. If Ricci's was as bad as the first three google reviews indicate, it would be a lot easier to get in on a Friday night which usually is always a 20 minute wait. If you have problem make it known and the management always makes it right....not sure were these negative reviews cam from..ridiculous.
We love coming here every time we are in town.
Came here tonight for the first time. Waitress was friendly and fast. We got prime rib and chicken Elaine. Both were delicious. We got the lobster bisque. It was ok but wish it had bigger pieces of lobster, it was very smooth. Overall great experience. Will definitely come back soon.
The food is always amazing here. You are going to want to come in hungry because you will leave very satisfied. The staff is so nice and pleasant, and will most certainly help you with any questions or recommendations. Exceptional establishment.
My first visit was wonderful. Treated with the respect normally associated with family. The atmosphere friendly and exciting. The food so delicious, the English language doesn't have enough adjectives to properly describe.
Absolutely outstanding service!!! My family and I decided to go to Ricci's to celebrate my sister's birthday. We made a reservation, but, as always, we ran late. We called and explained, and they allowed us to move the reservation up. When we arrived, we were welcomed by our wonderful waitress, Meghan. She was EXTREMELY accommodating. We had a party of 7, and that included 2 children. The food was ready very quickly and was absolutely incredible. I had the Chicken French, and it was sooooo good. They not only allowed us to bring in a Birthday Cake, but they also stored it for us in their kitchen's cooler. And if that wasn't enough, when they brought it out, they put candles on it, and lit them. Almost the entire restaurant sang Happy Birthday to my sister. It made her birthday extra special! And this was all on a Friday night, when they were super busy, but still treated us like gold. I definitely found my favorite Italian Restaurant!!!
Food was great. We had a bit of a wait longer then expected. Try there Cajun pork chops over chili. Wanted something different. Was very good
Party of 7, had to wait for inside dining, and the food was great. Kid's loved the kid's menu, especially the chicken fingers and fries. Half sheet of pizza was great, dough fresh, sauce just right, mozzarella perfect amount versus all the other pizza places. The pepperoni is the correct kind, and each bite has pepperoni. Supporting local businesses!
We have been eating here for years and every time is fantastic. Great food, atmosphere and warm, family-like service. It's good to know some things never change. Five stars all the way!
I've lived near Ricci's for close to 30 years and never made the decision to visit them until today. Wow, have we been missing out. We ordered the Artichokes French, Calamari Capri, Broiled Haddock Amandine & 12oz Ribeye Special. The appetizers were plentiful and more than I expected to come out. You always feel a lot of restaurants cheap out on the portion size. A generous portion of each and the calamari was done perfectly. Not chewy and the flavor was robust. The Artichokes French was flavored just right and melted in your mouth with each bite. The clam chowder that came out before our meal... I instantly went to grab the salt and pepper because most places never season it correctly. I put them down and took my first bite and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. No need for any extra seasoning on my part. The salad my wife got was huge, fresh and again the taste was great. The Haddock...oh man. The buttery taste and flaky texture were fantastic. The ribeye my wife got was cooked perfectly and again the taste...perfect. We finished every plate other than some of the potatoes but at that point, we had our fill. But it was a good fill. Satisfying. Our server, Amanda, was friendly, warm and was always there asking how everything was. My only disappointment is that we took so long to ever come and dine. Hats off to the servers, cooks, and staff Ricci's Family Restaurant. You're definitely doing it right.
WOW... authentic, home made tasting Italian food! Food carefully prepared and presented artfully. The services was exceptional and the place is immaculately clean! Food portions are large, so come hungry! A definite place for a regular family outing or a for a dinner for two!
The wait was not bad for a Friday night without calling ahead. Good options on the menu even if you're vegetarian. There is a kids menu. The portions were generous. My only complaint was the full streak knife, not a big deal.
I had Arancini which was a single serving but I split it 3 ways it was so big. And delicious! Chicken parmigiana and angel hair spaghetti along with a side salad. Huge portions. Went with 2 friends, we all took half home. Great service and friendly waitress.
The first server wasn't so friendly, which I couldn't understand. Finally, another server came to our table, and she was phenomenal.. I believe the first one left her shift for the day, but still no reason to be a grouch towards your customers.
The ladies at Ricci's were all so very nice. We didn't have a reservation but, the ladies went out of there way to find us a spot, we were originally told that without a reservation we would have a least an hour wait. We decided to go elsewhere but, the hostess followed us out to the parking lot to tell aus that a table for two had just came available. The food as always was exceptional as was our waitress Nikki!!
Catering was fantastic and right on time. The pans of food were huge, the ziti was cooked perfectly, the greens and beans were amazing, and the service is always great and safe. Thank you for making brighter a difficult day for our family. God bless.
Amazing food and service! The fresh baked bread and fresh sliced meats & cheeses are unsurpassed. You are always greeted with a smile and conversstion. They also have other foods for sale such as Italian cookies, salads, pastas, and so much more. You can call ahead and order, take it to-go, or there are a few tables to enjoy your meal there. Either way, an amazing place!
Went for lunch today with my son. Food and service were outstanding. Waitress Nikki was excellent.
We had dinner with adults and children. The waitress made sure that the kids got exactly what they ordered an checked on us several times during dinner. Very good service. The veal parm is top shelf and so is the sauce. Definitely a go to place.
Came across this restaurant on my way to work. As an Italian, I’m picky about Italian versus Italian-American. Ricci’s did NOT disappoint! I brought a friend who has a Service Dog & the staff were kind & accommodating. He had the ravioli, I had the Pasta Bolognese. These servings are HUGE! Bring your appetites! Pasta was perfectly cooked & the Bolognese sauce was as close to my Nonna’s as I could get outside of her kitchen. If they have the French Onion or Lobster Bisque-ORDER IT! If you’re not here, you’re missing out!
My white pizza was very delicious. My waitress was wonderful and extremely pleasant and ensured my needs were met. Outstanding service and food.
Very nice. Met and seated immediately by a greeter/hostess and as we were waiting for friends, had attentive put patient server while we waited. Food was prepared well and although it was my first time here, i found the food was excellent and my favorite dish was made exactly like I would like and expect. Attentive service and they let us converse with no rush. I'd come back for sure.
My young child said to me upon enter the single room bathroom, "it smells good in here I can poop in here for sure". Lol side note it was very clean and it in fact smelled lovely!
We've been here twice recently. Our dinners were very good. Nikki was our waitress both times. She was attentive and very friendly. We will definitely return.
Amazing dinner! We went last night for dinner and had a wonderful experience! Our waitress was so friendly, accommodating, and attentive. I wish I had gotten her name to mention her specifically, as she is one of the very best! I had the Chicken Elaine, which is absolutely to die for! So delicious! I'm actually enjoying the leftovers for lunch right now. My MIL had the veal parm, which she was very happy with, and my husband had the haddock which he quickly devoured. All the food was amazing! Great food, great service, all around it was excellent! We will definitely be back!
Stopped here because it had a good rating. Was extremely pleased with the service, and food. Also pleasantly surprised that they had our favorite beers. I highly recommend this restaurant. I'll be back to try more dishes. I finished the Lasagna in record time, so good, and the sauce was amazing. Helped my wife with her Chicken Marsala, which melted in my mouth. Our friends had enormous dishes of Chicken Fazool, and Spaghetti and Meatballs. They commented that it was great, and best meatballs he's ever had. Neither could finish the huge portions. Not affiliated with this place, just a fan. We'll be back!
Cozy atmosphere, great food, big portions and great customer service! I’ve had the Chicken Elaine, Pumpkin Ravioli in a Sage Butter Sauce, Prime Rib with Broccoli, French Onion soup & Apple Cider Moscow Mule. At our most recent visit, my dad had the lobster bisque. To be completely transparent, he said he wasn’t the biggest fan of the bisque. It was spicy (which the waitress did tell him when he ordered, he decided to give it a try anyways) and in his opinion it wasn’t a “true” lobster bisque. The Chicken Elaine was delicious! The prime rib was excellent!! The meat was tender and a nice medium rare with a flavorful au jus. In my opinion the broccoli was just broccoli, nothing special. The French onion soup was so yummy and flavorful. The bread that they use (the same bread they serve at the table) is so dang good! The Apple Cider Moscow Mule was like fall in a cup! So tasty. The Pumpkin Ravioli was AMAZING! I love pumpkin and these raviolis did not disappoint! I ordered the ravioli to go so unfortunately the sauce separated by the time I ate it the next day, but that’s not the restaurants fault. That’s to be expected with a cream/butter sauce. Regardless of that fact, the flavor was delicious and I would hands down order it again and again! Our waitress was excellent and attentive. Definitely recommend giving Ricci’s a try if you haven’t been!
Food was delicious! Ordered ravioli with tomatoes and balsamic vinegarette. Delicious!! It's even better the next day! Will definitely go back!!!
I love this restaurant! I've been here many times over the years and I have always enjoyed it every time. The food is delicious and the staff is always very nice. Even after I moved out of town, I always make a point of going to Ricci's when I am back in town to visit. The Chicken French is my favorite!
Food is always good! Please tell your waitresses not to wear a bottle of perfume! I couldn't enjoy my meal because I felt like I was eating perfume. Took my chicken French home to enjoy it.
My best friend and I were out and about with our young kids (10, 4, 14 months and 9 months)… we came in between lunch and dinner so it was pretty peaceful and not busy. Our waitress, Kathy, was so incredibly amazing and made us feel right at home! As any parent knows dining with children can bring the unexpected and she made us feel like she was taking care of her own family. Not to mention the eggplant lasagna was spectacular.
Four of us went there for lunch today. Mother in-laws birthday. Helpings were extremely plentiful. Server was very friendly. I had blueberry cheesecake. Enormous piece. Will be going back.
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a wonderful dinner service at this local restaurant, and I must say that it was truly exceptional! From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the hostess. They seated me promptly, and within moments a friendly and knowledgeable server approached my table to take my order. The menu offered a variety of tantalizing options, and the server was more than happy to provide helpful suggestions and answer any questions I had about the dishes. When my food arrived, it was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and each bite was a delight to the senses. But what really set this dinner service apart was the outstanding service. Throughout the meal, my server was attentive, personable, and professional. She checked in frequently to ensure that everything was to my liking, and she was quick to address any requests I had. Her positive attitude and excellent customer service truly made the experience memorable. Overall, I had a fantastic time at this restaurant, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was truly outstanding. If you're looking for a dinner service that exceeds all expectations, be sure to check out this restaurant!
Wonderful, Pizza is out of this world with the good mozzarella ,and thick chewy crust. We also ordered from there wide variety menu, the food was fresh and not skimpy ,good portions, very reasonable priced. The service was friendly and fast ,our waitress Nicky was very patient with us as we couldn't make up our minds, everything looked great. Lots of free parking, easy access. Clean and comfortable atmosphere .Good place to make an impression on someone special. Give it a try.
An absolute gem in North Greece...the staff is always pleasant and the food is Always Delicious! The burgundy steak tips is wild. Anything they french is gold. The drinks are delightful from the bar. If you haven't been in a while, Go.
Menu is great as.is the food and the prices are very reasonable!
I go to Riccis whenever I’m in the mood for Chicken French- I really like theirs. It’s the right amount of Lemony without too much sherry overpowering the sauce (I find that happens a lot) the portions are good I always take home 1/2 my meal. I like their side salad and bread. The atmosphere is cosy and I’ve always had good service. I just like to eat there! 😊
Absolutely delicious. Great service. Large menu selection. Very family friendly. Update: I came back with my boyfriend yesterday (Saturday) for an early valentine's day dinner and we both order the prime rib. I have never had such a delicious prime rib 🤤. Absolutely melt-in-your-mouth food. Perfectly seasoned 😍.
If your looking for great Italian food this is the place for you. This family run restaurant has been around for a long time now and they know how to fill you up. Full plates and prices are very reasonable. A must go to. Daily specials as well.
Great place to eat. I have ordered so many different items off the menu and everything is amazing. I think I have been eating here for 50 years or at least since they have been open.
Always a favorite, visiting home from the West Coast and it's like eating family dinner at grandmas! Made my day when the awesome waitress Olivia called the garbanzo beans chichi beans, just like Grandma did, and having a local favorite, chicken French, so good! Thank you for the delicious meal and memories
The waitress was friendly and personable. A service was quick and the food was delicious
First night in town to visit family and wanted Artichoke French. It did not disappoint! I love the atmosphere and small town vibe with regulars on a first name basis. Very quiet and dimly lit in the restaurant. Everything we ordered was good, and even the kids pizza reminded me why NY has better pizza than where I'm living now 😅. (Artichoke and chicken French, kids pizza, side of sauce and spaghetti, 2 side salads and a NY cheese cake)
We went for Valentine's Day and it was absolutely wonderful! The service was great, as usual. Even though the place was packed, it didn't feel like it. They had amazing specials and the food was outstanding. One of our favorites!
One of our favorite places since we discovered it a couple years ago. The staff is very warm and welcoming like family. They have plenty of seating and can usually seat you right away. My boyfriend swears they have the best angel hair pasta and sauce anywhere. I enjoy soups and salads. We've also tried their sandwiches and pizza. Everything has been good. When you're first seated they offer some delicious Italian bread with dipping spices (oil and parmesan are on all the tables too). We gave our 11 mo old daughter tomatoes and chickpeas from my salad, and ordered her grilled chicken, and steamed broccoli. This time we also tried dessert: chocolate mousse and blueberry cheesecake which were both good and came in large portions. The blueberry topping was very tart. We always leave full and take a bunch home.
Been coming here for over 25 years. Food is top notch and delicious! And that means everything! Superior service. Prices are very reasonable. Can't recommend them enough.
I love this little restaurants. The quality of the food is always good. It doesn't matter if I eat in or ðine at home. The color the texture is spot on.niw I must add the staff is awesome I had veal Parm the sauce was flavorful. You are always welcomed and greeted with a smile. To the young lady that waited on us tonight you and your co workers are the reason we come. So professional. Thank you.
Best food and service of all the Italian spots across Rochester. It is worth the drive! Highly recommend the chocolate mousse
Ricci’s Family Restaurant is a Greece staple. I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl as I grew up around the corner. Excellent Italian and pizza. And the service is always top notch. Nikki, in particular is such a LIGHT!! Her smile and greeting light up the entire room and her service is so efficient and friendly, she just makes you feel right at home. Nikki, thank you so much for giving me awesome service the other day. You really made my meal special!
Just had the best experience here! The food was excellent, the service even better! We had cocktails, the calamari, lasagna, and the cannoli. Every bite was amazing!
A quaint, Italian family restaurant that feels like you are in a small town. The white pizza is delicious and a go to every time we visit. Every item we have tried has always been great, the classic Italian options are delicious. The French fries are great as well! Will definitely be back to visit!
My parents come here quite frequently and rave about how good the food is, so I met up with them for lunch to check it out. The FOOD indeed was good! And so was the service. I was confused why the au jus was an additional cost to have for the French dip though.. the roast beef would have just been bland with only the cheese and French bread. I really loved the bread. I will be coming here more often now!
Food is always amazing and the staff here is so friendly and welcoming! Service is excellent. Portions are large and at a reasonable price. My family has been going here for years and we are never disappointed. My current favorite item on the menu is the chicken Riggies!! Everything was and always is delicious !
This place has great servers and bar staff. They did recently change their adult drinks. No more doubles or tall; you could order tall cocktail but the liquor is the same as a normal. That doesn’t make this place, they should be open Sunday’s to make pizza for Sunday Football. The owner she is always there, and it’s clean and very friendly. They have daily specials and the price is good. If anything you’ll be happy with the quantity & this quality
The food and atmosphere here is fantastic. We loved it. The clams and mussel appetizer was very good. The bread there was so fresh and soft but crispy on the outside. It was cooked very well. We also got the French onion soup which was very flavorful. Our waitress was Cheryl. She was very sweet and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food and drinks but as well as the service.
First time back in a few years. I asked for Mac salad and got Cole slaw. The breaded fish fry was tough. The waitress was good and helpful and the atmosphere was okay.
Went on a Friday at 6:30PM, the place was packed. We were seated immediately, and the wait staff was terrific. With 3 small grandchildren all under the age of 10, I expected we might run into some issues. The waitress, kept everyone happy and the food and drinks flowing. The food was very good. Served hot and tasty. The kids were all happy, and so was my spouse. I recommend Ricci's for families and groups.
I went on a Saturday night, and it was busy, but I was not in a hurry, so I did not care about that. Bring your appetite because you will not leave hungry. The food is good and they serve you a lot of it. You will definitely get your money's worth.
The ravioli was very good and the portions were very large, definitely enough for 2 meals. The bread was good and I had a nice glass of chianti as well. Overall, this is a nice place for an Italian meal.
I have eaten here several times over the years. Food is good. Their pizza is much like the old time pizza made in brick ovens. Service is friendly but can be slow at times. Venue is not really big so if you want an intimate experience this may be what you are looking for. Definitely a family run business, and you can have a nice quiet dinner.
The fish fry was nice and crispy! Not too much batter and the coleslaw and macaroni salad were delicious compliments to it. I didn't try the tartar.
My family and I just ate dinner here tonight and even though the tables are quite small everything exceeded our expectations. The food was all delicious appetizers entrees and including desserts. The wait staff was very friendly, respectful and attentive. So I highly recommend dining in with your loved ones, we will definitely be returning there sometime soon!
I can't believe I've never rated ricci since I've been here a bunch of times! I didn't take pictures becuase I thought for sure I did already.... next time! This visit we had the calamari and it was chewy. Pretty plain. Not our favorite. The chicken fagiole is my favorite dish! The portions are huge and there are always left overs. Arrived hot and it's delicious.
I hadn’t been to Ricci’s in many years, and wanted to try it again. Unfortunately my partner and I didn’t care for our food. The chicken parm and the eggplant parm were quite tough. The portions are very large, and staff seemed friendly however.
Unfortunately, my meal here made me so sick to my stomach about an hour after eating. I'm not sure if it was the sauce, which to me tasted sour or the veal. Something did not agree with my insides, so I will not be returning here. The staff was great and made us feel welcomed. I wish my meal was better though.
I had the chicken French and found the chicken to be dry and too much sauce that wasn’t very good . I’ve had better at another restaurant. My husband had the veal parm and he was not impressed. He’s ordered it before as surprised. We’ve ordered before and ate in the restaurant, we both very disappointed and surprised.
Visited on a Wednesday evening. Restaurant wasn't busy but wasn't slow either which was nice to see. Service was very good, food came out quick, and was decent, nice portions. The NY strip was overcooked and underseasoned but serves me right for getting a steak at an Italian restaurant. :). The only critique is the decor. The place looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80s. I'd say "typical Rochester" but there are plenty of examples around of restaurants that care about the entire experience and not ignore a heavily dated interior. Probably the lack of surrounding competition but that shouldn't be an excuse.
The atmosphere was quiet and nicely decorated. However, the waitress was not attentive at all. She wasn't rude or anything but definitely acted as if she couldn't care less. Left dirty dishes on the table. Both of us at the table asked for water with lemon & she only brought water. My meal didn't have a lot of flavor & I was charged an extra $4.50 to have my chicken over escarole instead of pasta, yet they still had pasta underneath everything which defeats the purpose of substituting.
The place is very nice, but I had ...I forgot name, linguini with sauce with 3 tiny clams, 3 shrimp, 3 scallops. And had enough pasta for my whole family left over. And honestly, I Don't like the plain sauce. My husband had lasagna , which was just barely warm but he won't ever ask to heat it. My friend had Lobster a bisque soup...made her husband trade his onion soup with her. I'll stick with pizza for there . Nice server and bartender.
What happened to the food here? First the good news… the service was spot on, the bread was perfect, the salad bountiful, and the Arancini was fabulous! Now the bad news… the Chicken French was terrible! Even though the chicken was tender, it was swimming in the most bitter sauce we’ve ever tasted. And there wasn’t even a trace of lemon! We couldn’t come close to finishing it. No leftover boxes tonight either.
Just had ankle fusion surgery, not supposed to use the foot for 7 more weeks. The restroom door is so narrow I couldn't use the walker correctly to get it. I HAD to use the foot and now it is extremely sore. The restroom is definitely NOT handicap accessable ........
Our reservation was at 6:45pm we were done with dinner at 7:15pm. Felt like the waitress rushed us. Sat down, ordered drinks, salad came within 5 minutes, salad taken and within 5 minutes dinner came. Eggplant lasagna was huge on the plate which didnt look appetizing and the linguini with clam sauce had no taste except pepper. Looking for a nice night out and it lasted half hour
Service was great. Food tasted good. But I was so sick to my stomach after eating here. Something wasn't right. I decided to look at all the reviews and seen some other reviews who said the same thing. I was sick for 2 days. So unfortunate because I actually liked the food and the service.
Went to Ricci's with my two girlfriends around the Holiday season. Each of us ordered our entres. I've always had a good experience here but this was not one of them. My two girlfriend's ordered seafood dishes and I ordered the chicken French. My friends were both highly disappointed in the quality and taste of their dinners. I, as well was quick shocked at how bad my dinner was. The French sauce had a very sour and unpleasant taste to it. My friends said that their dinners were poorly seasoned, no garlic whatsoever which was shocking because they both ordered Scampi dinners. When the waitress came over and we expressed how we were dissatisfied, she then asked if we wanted anything else which we declined. When we got the check they charged us full price for our dinners. Mind you, we didn't eat our food, we took a few bites and told her we weren't happy with our dinners. She didn't offer a discount or anything. She just kept saying how everyone raves about the food. I was quit disappointed with the fact that she didn't offer to take SOMETHING off of the bill. I understand it's a family owned business and I've always been an advocate for supporting local. But this was disappointing. You take care of your customers. It's basic courtesy. It's sad to say that my two friends didn't have a pleasant experience and will not be dining there again. Hopefully in the future, the employees or owners will take better care of their dissatisfied customers.
Usually a really positive experience - last night we went and most of the food was really enjoyable! One of the dishes tasted off and when we informed the waitress we didn’t want it - not a big deal. We weren’t too concerned about it and were willing to pay for it. Most of the team was great about it until this one woman (manager or owner?) came over and lectured our table that the dish was delicious and cooked exactly how it was supposed to be cooked. Defending the dish profusely. It was very standoffish and rude. It made the whole table uncomfortable and ruined a great night. Again we did not mind paying for the dish, but she must’ve told us 3/4 times that we MUST pay for the dish even though we said we already would multiple times - we just wanted her to leave us alone but she seemed intent on us agreeing that the dish was fine when it was not. After that we rushed our meal to get out of there as quickly as possible. It was just disappointing that a birthday dinner was ruined over someone yelling at us and making an issue over a non issue.
First time eating here. Yes, a disappointment it was. From service to food. We got seated promptly, water, drinks and bread were brought out quickly and our order was placed or so we thought. Another party came in after us, their orders were placed after us and somehow they were served before us. They recieved their water, bread, soup/salad then their food while we waited over an hour. When they got their meals we were just getting our soup/salads. I love Chicken French, and was looking forward to trying Haddock French for the very first time. Sorry I ordered it. It was bland and tasteless. Unfortunately don't think I will be back there anytime soon.
We have been going to Riccis for 30 years. We have had dine in and take out. Tonight, we had the worst take out dinner. We had bolognese over very little meat & our French onion soup tasted like a cup of wine. It was so disappointing.
Probably the best Italian food I've ever had but absolutely ruined by the incredibly poor judgement of the hostess. I didn't have my glasses when I signed the receipt so just filled in $100 total I signed. This would have figured to a over 30% tip but rather than finishing the math for me she chose to scold me in front of my wife and the rest of the customers. Will NEVER dine there again.
DONT GO HERE. Owner Marilyn- Took our friends out for a birthday dinner and a movie.Your attitude and service are aberrant. I feel sorry for the staff that works for you. "Guests" that make a reservation and are transparent about being on a timeline should not have a receipt shoved in their face when their meals are not prepared timely. An apology and perhaps some attempt at compromise would have avoided this terrible experience. Offering to wrap up the entrees (one of which was a Salmon dish) after waiting 45+ minutes and knowing we were going to a movie which we were then late to because of your poor service, was completely unacceptable. Never ate the food as we never got it but we paid you anyways. **See response from management below. The play-by-play recanted speaks volumes to the owners demeanor. Omitted from this tale is the fact that the server did tell us we would have enough time to eat and make the movie. She is a FANTASTIC server and asked permission to inquire about our plans after our meal as she had overheard us speaking of going to the movies. She picked up on our conversation as an attentive server should. She in good faith, truly believed we would be able to eat and make the movie on time. It seemed apparent to us that other diners that were seated after us received entrees BEFORE ours were prepared. Blame it on the Well done fish request?! Come on. I've cooked Salmon many times. We both know that is a lame excuse. But at least Marilyn, you offered an excuse this time unlike at the time we dined when you attempted to bully me into paying your bill without even a word or an attentive ear to hear our concerns. But again. That is who you are. And your passive aggressive attempt to imply we were attempting to dodge a check? 40 something year old professionals don't make a habit of doing so and have never done something like that EVER. FYI-We typically tip 25-33% of a check. Again, if you were even the least bit of a decent person you would have split that check with the server given the circumstances. But your not and you won't because your always right....
I have ALWAYS said Ricci’s is the best Italian food in Greece. Well my opinion has changed. I wanted to have my favorite for my birthday dinner. After picking up my food I get home to realize that my order was incorrect. I called to hopefully get a credit or an offer to get what I’d originally wanted on another day. The woman who answered decided that she was right and continue to insist that they did not make a mistake. She knew me better than I knew myself I guess. All of the food was not the quality I have become accustomed to. The garlic bread was so salty. Greens and beans tasteless. Food was just no good. Everything went in the garbage.
Unfortunately this review is not going to a nice one, we have been patrons of Ricci's for over 20 years, we live nearby and have brought many of our friends and family there. We supported them during the pandemic by ordering out frequently. Long story short, went there Saturday night, they seated a couple at the table next to us, they had attitude right from the start, a friend of ours was standing by our table, chatting, as she walked back to her table she said "to bad we couldn't have gotten the table next to you". The man sitting at that table immediately started yelling at her, being very rude and nasty. My husband asked him to stop and calm down at which point the man started yelling at my husband, after a few minutes of trading insults the man jumped up and started going towards my husband as if he was going to get physical, at this point the wait staff and the owner got involved, the owner pointed her finger in my husband's face and very nastily said" not another word from you!" The staff was being so nice to the man that started the whole thing and giving our table dirty looks, they moved the guy to another table and for the rest of the meal we were being stared at like we were evil. Obviously the other couple knew the owner and wait staff so we were the bad guys. We won't be going there anymore. Just to be clear, the guy was a vet, missing a leg, he managed to get that into the argument, probably in his 40's. My husband is 66, and always respectful of veterans.
My wife suggested we eat here last week since when she last ate here a couple of years ago, the food was very good. But, it was a great disappointment. The service was fine, but the food was average to mediocre at best, and the portion sizes small. I ordered the broiled haddock, which was fine, but it was a thin sliver of fish, with only a large side of pasta with a very bland and flavorless sauce. The pasta is plentiful but cheap, and it was not worth taking home. The meal was expensive and far from satisfying. We are unlikely to return.
Food was terrible. Chicken parm sandwich meat was old and grey looking. Smelled funny too. Pizza was disgusting. It had way too much cheese that tasted fake or like cheap mozzarella. They put canned mushrooms on the pizza too. Food is gross and not fresh. Wasted my money! Never again!
Came in for dinner tonight with two friends, one of which who dines at Riccis weekly. We had the calamari for an appetizer which was great however all three us received dinners that were awful, after a couple bites the server removed our plates and apologized that the food wasn't great. Zero flavor on the shrimp scampi, not a single hint of garlic and certainly no salt, the shrimp was rubbery and hard, unbearable to eat. My friend who had the chicken French just couldn't stomach the taste. We refused any to go bags, why bother. Checks came and we said something to cashier but she didn't care. This was the first and last time I will be a patron at Riccis. Editing my review in response to the "owners" comment. The waitress did ask if we wanted to something else but why would we bother when all three of us disliked our dinners? She clearly didn't inform a manager or owner that we were all dissatisfied with our orders for a comp on the bill, which is what should have happened. And when the owner, "cashier" was asked if there was a new chef it's because my friend dines there frequently and didn't know why the food was terrible this evening. And shame on the owner for not even acknowledging an unsatisfied custumer, that's worse than an employee who just doesn't care. The cook did not have to go out of way to change the sauce in my dish to go with the microwaved shrimp. I am far from oblivious on how things are run in the food industry. Not just one, not two but three unsatisfied customers is not a coincidence. Next time the waitress should inform the manager and that should reflect on the bill.
My kids took me out for my birthday and my daughter went up to the front and ask if they do anything for birthdays, the older lady at the front was pretty rude to her and said we don't sing and if you want a piece of cake, we will put a candle on it, but you will have to pay for it. Needless to say, my daughter was not happy. then my son got a burger and his lettuce had a small crawling bug on it. He did not notice until he ate his burger. We just brought it to the attention of the waitress and she apologized and gave us two free cookies, which was a nice gesture. The food was not great. I had the fettucci alfredo and the sauce tastes like bottled sauce. We have gone to Ricci's before and always had a great experience and meal. It has really gone down hill. After this experience, we will not be going there again.
I was, unfortunately, very disappointed with our recent visit to Ricci’s. I don’t get to visit my parents as often as I’d like to, but planned to get together for dinner and was very excited to spend some time with them. We decided on going to Ricci’s because they said they hadn’t been there in so long. We arrived at little after 5:30pm on a Saturday, and were a party of 6: myself, my husband, and kids, and my parents, of course. From the time we sat down, we felt like we were being rushed throughout the meal. The waitresses would hover like vultures, waiting to take our plates the second we were done. In fact, one even took my plate without even asking if I was finished. They would even interrupt us (more than once) while in the middle of having conversations. We were trying to enjoy each other’s company, when a waitress interrupted us (6:45pm) and told that they have a reservation waiting for our table and we need to go. We were shocked and very frustrated that we had to leave. I’ve never experienced that before ever. We spent quite a lot of money there, so for us to be rushed out was very upsetting. To add… the tables were incredibly close together, and the chairs were very low, making it very difficult for my father who used a cane. All in all, just a very disappointing visit.
Don’t waste your money here scallops stunk like rotten fish and where swimming in a bowl of what could have been butter TOUGHER than shoe leather only could CHOKE down 1of them veal saltambocca 3 small pieces again TOUGHER than shoe leather side of pasta dry like it had been sitting around salads drowned in dressing had about 3 bites SPENT 105. Dollars SHOULD HAVE JUST BURNED THE MONEY
Went there for the first and last time. Food was meh and not hot. Staff not very friendly. Was there on a Saturday night was by no means crowded. A "Karen" (by Karen i mean i believe it was the owner)shot the nastiest looks because my grandson (2 years old) was standing up looking out the window and just bellowed asking if we needed a high chair. There was only a couple near us and didn't seemed bothered he wasn't banging on the glass or screaming. We left our food and walked out. Not a family friendly restaurant. Won't go back or recommend.
Horrible! Service was the worst, left sitting for 15 min till approached. Table SO SMALL, person seated behind kept bumping chair. Shoulder resting on protruding brick wall. Our plates wouldn't all fit on the table! Ordered clams casino, BURNT and dry, so salty. Scallops and broccoli sitting in water on both plates. Scallops were tasteless and bad. Calimari average, lack luster, not crispy enough and sauces served in plastic to go cups with lids. The ricotta looked like rice and was lumpy and gross, see picture. Table next to us not happy, sent food back. Was so dissapointed with EVERTHING here, would never return. Waste of money.
