Our family’s first time visit. We celebrated a birthday with hibachi. Staff was great! Very attentive waitress came by often to make sure we had everything we needed. The chef had a great sense of humor and put on a great show. Food was delicious as well. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a family night out or birthday celebration.

I rarely give us 5 star reviews but this was such a great experience. I loved everything about the place. You'll get full and have a great time. Came for hibachi and it was worth it. I ate the steak and lobster but was not a fan of the lobster but that may have been personal.

This is a good place. It's decent priced. Well, plenty of food can't complain. It's like that good burger place you keep on going back its nothing to blow your hair back. But not a place that you would shy away from If you want a quick japanese lunch.

The service here is really good 👍 Hubby & I have never been to a Japanese steakhouse before, so it was interesting for us. We should have gotten a table where they cook your food in front of you, that would have been a cool picture to have seeing that huge flame & all, but, we did not. It is what it is 🤷‍♀️ Hubs was boring and got the Chicken Fried Rice & I ordered the Beef Hot Stone Bowl which was super delicious 😋 The spice is spot on, not too spicy, but enough to give the food the 'kick' it needs. Both of our meals came with Miso Soup 🍲 We did order an appetizer of Mini Spring Rolls with duck sauce which were very good 👍 😋 The restaurant was clean, food great, service and atmosphere even better 😃 Thank you for lunch Kyoto!!!

This place is bursting with enthusiasm as one experience the Hibachi Chef cooked shrimp teriyaki, Grilled Salmon & Grilled Flounder in garlic butter sauce, mixed veggies & Steaks. My grandson is thrilled to see the fire on grill lights up the air by the Chef. Its was funny the Chef could shoot the broccoli thru one customers mouth from a distance. It was a birthday celebration we're having & in-law was happy at the gesture of get-together. This place is clean, waiters were helpful & attentive to serve.

Came on a Friday night to try out the hibachi dinner. Service was prompt, we didn't have to wait too long for a chef to come along. He was entertaining and cooked our food according to what we specified (medium, medium rare, etc). He made a heart with the rice, caught the egg in his hat, performed the onion train and few other tricks. The portions were generous as well since we had some extra fried rice that was split between all the people at the table. The fried rice was OK, steaks and chicken weren't bad either. Chicken and shrimp were the ones I enjoyed the most since they weren't overly done on the soy sauce. My husband and I also ordered drinks, Green Monkey & Lychee Sakétini. Both were not great, the syrups used in the drinks tasted very chemically combined with cheap liquor. They also take reservations over the phone. We called in a 7pm reservation around 2pm that same day. Overall, it was a good- not great- dinner. Makes me wish there was a Benihana in Rockwall...

Typical sushi and hibachi restaurant that offers a show and meal at the same time! Our chef may not have been that talkative compared to previous chefs I had at other places, but I liked how he cooked our meals and still did a few tricks. The flavor was good, and the portions were even better! We also tried the sashimi, Snow Mountain roll, and toro. They were fairly decent, but I wouldn’t get again. I’ll just stick with their hibachi, and I really did enjoy their ginger salad dressing that was used for their salad

The family and I had Christmas dinner here because most places were closed for the holiday, which made this place particularly convenient. We got the Hibachi dinner experience, which was pretty standard, as they employed the usual hibachi party tricks, like broccoli launching, controlled oil fires, and the flaming onion train. Service wise, I'd say that the Hibachi chef we had was average and our waitress was below average, because they forgot to hand out my steamed rice and chopsticks for so long that, I had to eat my Salmon Nigiri with a fork. The Hibachi show itself was so standard that, I felt the distinct lack of innovation due to the show not really varying in over a decade of coming to this Kyoto restaurant. As for the food, the Hibachi Scallops were alright, but, due to the lack of variance in the Hibachi show, I'd say that we overpaid for this dish. The King Salmon Nigiri looked good, but was disappointingly tasteless. Overall, the below standard level of service and the expensive prices for the average tasting food, lead me to say that this place is painfully average.

This was our experience at the sushi bar, not hibachi. Food is ok, expensive for what it is. $18 for 8 pc sushi is a bit steep for one of their cheaper rolls. The mongolian beef was decent but again, pricey for what it is. Drinks are $7-9 minimum, usually more. Apps were also pricey, almost all $10 and up. I think Kyoto probably was mind blowing 15-20 years ago, but now suffers from what I consider the Applebee's effect. The only decent value you are going to get as a customer is either bargain bin places like gas station tacos or top tier Michelin-rated restaurants, and even then you have disappointing exceptions. Everywhere in between, from Waffle House to Maggiano's, is designed to extract as much hard-earned money from you while delivering bland, middle of the road cuisine and poor to okay service at best. Speaking of, Christine was our server. Not great, she seemed pretty over it and it wasn't even that busy for a Friday. Whatever, not going to get overly frustrated with an underpaid waitstaff. I would probably go back but only with a group and for the hibachi. TLDR: This is Genghis Grill but slightly better and more expensive. Based on quality and foot traffic I give it 5 more years in this economy before it goes the way of Taco Cabana just up the road. Dare to take risks or risks will take you.
