Nice diner. Got the eggs Benedict. Everything was good.
Good burger, good club sandwich. Pleasant waitress, fast service. Ez on off 17. Highly recommend.
I'm a big fan of counter style eating. I was happy to see nice comfortable swivel chairs. Fast friendly service. Got two eggs over, whole wheat toast and really good home fries. Will be making this my half way home stop. One complaint. I didn't see or missed Handicap parking.
Great old school diner vibe. Friendly staff. Quick service. Good diner food served all day. Right next to Tesla supercharger it is a good place to get a bite while you charge. Routine stop when heading downstate.
Loved the college banners all over the diner. Pretty cool. My server Savanna was very attentive and helpful. Will definitely pass by again on my annual camping trips
Great nostalgic diner, food, service, prices & staff exceptional
A huge diner menu and everything we ordered was well prepared and delicious. Baklava to go was a hit! The staff was very nice.
Service was really good, they accommodated our 11 people group plus one toddler during lunch time!
One of my favorite stops! Space for one or two big rigs usually as well.
the staff were very nice! the food was overall amazing other than my ham and egg sandwich i ordered since they misheard my order. the cookies were amazing and the sandwich was still delicious!
Nice service. Huge portions. Solid dinner during a road trip. The chicken tortilla was chefs kiss and so was the hot chocolate!
When I was pulled out of bed to go to a highway adjacent diner, and I saw that it had 3200 reviews, I was fully prepared to tell the town of Roscoe to get off their high horse with their mediocre breakfast offerings. But then, to my surprise, my taste buds were subtly caressed by a delightful hot cocoa, pillowy eggs, crispy hash browns, and pancakes filled with enough chocolate chips to make this rotten old soul let off one tear of joy, remembering a simpler time when the world wasn't so bitter and we had time for the simpler things in life
Classic hometown diner feel. Great breakfast and friendly people. If youre passing through, a solid choice.
Friends have spoken of this eatery for years. We finally were able to stop in and enjoy some food. Delicious perfectly crispy fries served alongside super crisp pickle wedge and a delicious panini-style Reuben (pastrami) on ciabatta with dressing on the side. Excellent! Husband had roast beef panini style also on ciabatta. Also excellent. Friendly staff, clean and bright. Recommend highly.
Great stop before getting into NYC . Travelled from Buffalo and was the perfect stopping point. Huge menu and sandwiches are served with a home made pickle and chips. I described the pickle to my travel companions as “ refreshing” . Will stop here every time heading this route to the city . I forgot to take pics, it’s clean and has tons of pennants from all the college sports teams that have travelled through. Update 12/6/2024 : Weeeerrrreeee baaaaaack!!!!!! Stopping at the Roscoe Diner has officially become my religious pilgrimage on the Buffalo-NYC route. If the ancient Greeks had diners, this would've been their oracle – except instead of cryptic prophecies, you get life-changing pickles that I can only describe as "refreshing" (a word I stand by, even though my friends still tease me about waxing poetic over fermented cucumbers). On this latest visit, I expanded my horizons beyond their sandwich realm into what I can only call "The Great Meatloaf Awakening of 2024." Their meatloaf Parmesan is what would happen if your Italian grandmother and your American grandmother got into a friendly competition in the kitchen – and somehow, everyone won. The Governor's burger (which should really run for office – it's got my vote) arrived looking like it was ready to sign executive orders on deliciousness. The tortilla soup was a plot twist I didn't see coming – like finding out your accountant is secretly a salsa dancer. It worked, and I'm not questioning it. The decor remains a fascinating museum of collegiate sports history, with enough pennants to make you feel like you've crashed a national championship celebration. It's still spotlessly clean, which is impressive considering they probably serve enough food daily to feed a small university. Pro tip: If you're driving from Buffalo to NYC and don't stop here, you're doing it wrong. Just be prepared to spend at least 20 minutes staring at the menu, which is longer than some novels I've read. And yes, those pickles are still refreshing. I will die on this hill.
We came here for brunch! OMG I give this place 5 stars! They claim to be worldwide known and after eating their breakfast I can believe so! Either I was really hungry, or the food was absolutely great! I am a big Ihop fan and love crepes. These little wrapped crepes were so good and tasted like m mom’s food! Absolutely recommend this place!
Yes, yes, and more yesses. This is a great place for the standard diner fare that will fill your belly and not drain your wallet. The staff is great, the food was perfect. They even serve real maple syrup in a container so don't waste your time with the pre-packaged slop they put out with the butter. You can thank me later.
Great burger in a real nice atmosphere. Very good waitress. Delicious good. A definite stop when in the area.
Great staff. Many of which have been there for many, many years. Good food and great service.
Great stop on the way… omg, that Reuben burger- that was amazing. Many burger options actually, and we wanted to try a few so we shared and it was worth it. The omelette wrap was super tasty too. Only downside was that the sweet potato fries were cut too thick and the pricing was a bit confusing (bring cash!). Friendly waiter and nice atmosphere. A classic
100% worth stopping at. Food was good, service was good despite them being slammed, atmosphere was good. Family friendly. The town itself is cool too, lots of bars, a brewery, a distillery, the diner has a Tesla Supercharger, gas stations right next door, town has some shops, farmers market on Sundays.
For me the Roscoe Diner is an incredibly nostalgic experience. Growing up we would make our way up from Westchester and pit stop on our way to Endicott for Destination Imagination competitions. Later when I attended SUNY Oneonta it was the perfect midway point. Now I drop in when I’m up visiting friends and family upstate. They’ve still got the Oneonta college flag up but have since rebranded their placemat look - I love it. Always my order is a happy waitress with side of chicken noodle soup and unsweetened ice tea with a slice of lemon. Over the years I’ve found this to be the most consistent experience making it one of my favorite traditions.
The beauty of the Roscoe Diner is that it is the definition of a diner. No frills, great food, friendly service, and a coffee cup that is never empty. Years ago, I'd stop on my way back and forth from Ithaca for school and recently went back to relive the joy. I ordered the He-Man breakfast which features french toast (gotta get it deep fried), eggs, bacon, sausage, and ham (and I promptly needed a nap after finishing). You've just got to love the Roscoe Diner.
Old school American diner with a supercharger on premise for charging your new school car. The service was great on a Sunday morning and so was the breakfast and the Blueberry pie!
This has been a favorite stop of mine for over 20 years. I always stop here whenever I come out this way. The food is amazing- no corners cut. Fresh baked cakes, pies and pastries. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly. Well worth a visit. My favorite sandwich is the Monte Cristo with a side of turkey gravy. The beer-battered Haddock and old fashion French Toast are also winners.
Hidden Gem in the Catskills it can be very busy but is often us to ourselves food is very good staff is very courteous and professional and the place is clean, what more can you ask for. I highly recommend it.
GREAT AMERICAN DINER I see a post about cost and while I went 2 days in a row and that review is not accurate in prices and if you dont like prices your free to leave you ordered without looking this crying generation is so out of control. Julieanna seems to only review negative on everything the does
Stopped at the **Roscoe Diner** in Roscoe, NY and it did not disappoint. I had the Turkey Club—stacked high, fresh, and exactly what you want from a classic diner sandwich. The bread was toasted just right, the turkey was flavorful, and the portions were generous. My wife ordered the Chicken Greek Salad wrap and loved it—fresh ingredients, well seasoned chicken, and a great balance of flavors wrapped up perfectly. The fries were excellent—crispy on the outside, hot, and seasoned just right. Friendly service and that comfortable, hometown diner feel make this a great stop when you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back.
Was driving from Connecticut to Rochester, New York and had to urgently use the bathroom. The lady at the front was nice enough to let me use it without having to buy anything… You know how I can get this day and age.. Also, there was heat on in the bathroom, which made The process even smoother for me. Haven’t tried the food, but the Hospitality is definitely there!
Seems this is the place to be! We needed a spot for a late breakfast and the reviews led us~ What a fun diner with so much to look at. Clean and the service was quick. We arrived at 11:30 which is past the 11am mark, when they replace hashbrowns with french fries. The omelets were typical diner omelets. The waiter apologized but that's the policy. Desserts look great but we didn't have any
Be sure to stop here if you’re ever in the area! The historic Roscoe Diner is always always a visit our family makes whenever we’re on our way to our property near Sidney, NY. Everyone here is always super friendly, and the food never disappoints. Atmosphere is nice as well. Parking lot includes Tesla car chargers.
Stopped in the notable Roscoe Diner for breakfast. The inside was cozy and had that classic diner feel. Our server had a bright and welcoming personality and took our orders in a timely manner. Our food came out extremely quickly. I ordered the western omelette, which came with toast and home fries. It was all delicious.
I had friendly service and an amazing omelette on this Sunday afternoon. Very clean and pleasant establishment right off Route 17. A great midway stop on this beautiful road. Easy on and off from the highway. Beautiful scenic location in the mountains in a picturesque village. Also 8 Tesla charging stations available. Beautiful accessible ramp to main entrance. Originally built in 1962.

Travelling from Middletown to Beamsville, Ontario, we were looking for a decent place to stop for breakfast. We chose the Roscoe Dinner and we're very glad that we did. The food (corned beef hash …
Solid diner. Ordered pancakes with side of bacon. Pancakes had to be 8 inches, huge, but among the best pancakes I’ve ever had. I prefer my bacon not crispy, but it tasted fine Very friendly service. Just know that they have cash prices/credit prices on the menu. Not much difference in price, but you might want to pay in cash
Classic slightly vintage interior with a large dining room and a large car park around. The fish and chips is generous as most of the dishes. Juicy fat fish fingers with french fries and tartare sauce (not home made). The fish is really good. The ice tea is served without sugar and thus highly refreshing. A good road side stop.
Good service. Generous portions. The place desperately needs updating, the cushioned seats are uncomfortable and torn. The cash vs credit thing on the menu feels as outdated as the decor. But its a good place to eat.
My husband and I love breakfast! We stopped at the diner and the food and service were good. I got the pancakes topped with banana and my husband got the Greek omelette. The pancakes were a little crumbly but other than that no complaints here. Fast friendly service and easy to get to off the interstate. I’d recommend stopping here!
Had a great meal here, seems like a great local spot so everyone is not only friendly but familiar as well. We ordered Pancakes and à Pastrami sandwich, tool à while to get to us but it was a good meal. A Diner is great when you have damn near nothing to complain about. If you're in the area and need a rest stop, come here – there's WiFi and it's à great source of information about the other stores in the area. The ice cream Shop is only open on the weekends as well as the farmers Market, go figure.
We did not expect a nice diner located in this area. We were here for charging our Tesla and had a dinner. Luckily, the food is good, typical diner food plus the portion is good, the price is fair, and the servicer is friendly. I would suggest to try their dinner special and French onion soup! We love the fish dish but be careful of the fish bone. Let’s support local business.
Visited on a Friday evening around 8p. Party of 3, and the establishment had people, but not a lot. We had the chicken scampi over linguini, stuffed shells parm, and corned beef hash. Chicken scampi was different and lemon-y and I loved it. The stuffed shells parm was a lot and was very tasty. The corned beef hash was okay, not the tastiest, but good. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Cannot wait to return again!
The food was good. The desserts were plentiful. The place was clean and the staff seemed miserable from the person who seated us, to our waitress to the person we paid at the register.
The food and services during our last visit were very good. However, we waited a long time to be seated because the hostess was also the cashier and responsible for take-out. The place is a bit pricey for the location.
Deep Fried French Toast - Don’t question it, just order! The breakfast sausage is amazing, and the scrambled eggs are a bit dry so I’d go with over easy next time. The French toast though omfg ^!
Not exactly sure why this place is such a draw. I suppose it's because it is the only full service diner within 30 or 40 miles? Best feature is that they have what seems like over 200 banners from colleges and universities from all over the US. Pretty cool.
I visited the Roscoe Diner several times a year for about 15 years, but haven't driven through that area for the last 20 years. So, when I recently staid a few days on Chilloway Rd, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop and see how the diner was doing. I'm happy to report that the corned beef hash covered with two eggs over medium is as good as I remember the dish from past visits. My one complaint was that the potatoes were too greasy for my taste. My wife ordered a breakfast sandwich, and in her case the hash browns were underdone. The same cookie, pie and cake display was viewable as we walked in, the decor was retro, and the service was very good. From recent reviews, I had read that many people found that things were slipping at the diner. That may be. But, I really enjoyed my corned beef hash and eggs.
Pretty solid! It’s very fast and the service is fast. A good vibe. If you’re gluten free, the options are pretty much a breakfast plate or a burger with no bun. There are a few healthy options, like a turkey burger on lettuce with fruit and cottage cheese. A weird combo, but it was decent. The home fries aren’t my favourite (could be crispier) but they’re decent. Their cookies and desserts look really good!!
I enjoy coming here when visiting my son at a nearby college. It’s convenient with easy access to the highway and across from the gas station. I’ve never had a wait when I’ve come. The staff is friendly and provide great service. I overheard them talking to a senior customer that comes in frequently, and they really made him feel special. I will always appreciate people that go out of their way to make others feels special. The food is good. I had the onion soup, which had a lot of cheese which I always prefer more cheese than less! My son had the eggs Benedict, which he enjoyed as well. And you can never go wrong with sweet potato fries!!!
Stopped by for brunch. And of course it was busy with a quick 10 minute wait. It has the classic diner feel and vibe. You must try the boozy milkshake it was delicious. Not my favorite bourbon but hey it’s in a milkshake. Wife reported the pancakes were awesome. I had the pastrami, Reuben.it could use more of the pepper punch for my liking. We ordered a slice of peanut butter pie to go. I would’ve preferred that with a graham cracker crust. Overall, the flavor was good. The service was spectacular and had a great time with our server. Would definitely go back again to sit outside.
One of the stops when you get off on old route 17 to head to your next destination. We had always wanted to try out this diner and had the opportunity. Had their eggs Benedict and steak and eggs with home fries. Food didn't take too long after we ordered, but finding our waitress to get our check took alot longer so another one helped us closeout so we can move on to our next destination. A bite pricey for a diner.
My husband and I ate brunch here. The place is very cute and clean. Service was pleasant and fast. Lox Benedict was excellent with eggs cooked to perfection and a size of great fries. The portion was sizable. A mushroom omelet, however, was flat and tasted as if was made out of fake eggs.
We were a bit sketchy at first but it became into a pretty nice brunch spot but not so nice that will come back again soon. The food was okay The bagel was amazing and the burgers are fantastic it's just a salads are soggy and the fries have a weird texture. But at least we got to charge our Tesla while we were eating.

Our waitress was wonderful but the food was not so good. We had a burger and a chicken panini. The burger patty was a lot like McDonald’s- tasteless. The eggplant on the panini was like leather. …
When we first got there there was nobody in front of us to be seated. The hostess was doing something behind the counter, never acknowledged us so we waited a few min. As we were waiting to order a few more people were starting a line at this point waiting. I had a window seat so I saw a couple and a family turn around and leave because of the line that has formed for no reason. A few min after that the hostess seated everyone at once. Not like there were no tables available. Now on to the food. They are known for the burgers but they are nothing to talk about. They are decent size but they are frozen premade store bought patties. Not home made. And we asked for them med and they were well done. The fries were killer though.
The Roscoe Diner is definitely a classic stop in upstate New York — it almost feels comical in how iconic it is. It’s the kind of place everyone seems to visit at least once, and it has that old-school diner charm that makes it worth checking out. One big plus: if you’re driving a Tesla, the superchargers are right here, so it’s super convenient to grab a bite while you charge up. That being said, if you’ve already been here before, I’d honestly recommend skipping it next time and heading over to the Spotted Cow Cafe instead. The food and atmosphere there are a nice change of pace and worth the short drive. Overall, Roscoe Diner is a fun “been there, done that” kind of spot — a great experience once, but not necessarily a place you need to keep returning to.
Not one employee made us feel welcomed or interested in giving us any customer service. Ridiculous to have all day breakfast but no hash browns so only fries with eggs at 11:30 am on a Sunday. Been to many diners and this a poor representation. Maybe good at one time but no longer.
The food is still good, but the service has deteriorated. We were never asked whether to top off our coffee, and the check we presented in the middle of our meal. We could have wanted desert. Never assume the customer's wishes. I don't care for offering a discount if paid by cash. It suggests to me that tax collection was being avoided or the payment was not recorded. I could be incorrect, perhaps my mind looks at the worst in a situation. Render unto Caeser what is Caeser's.
Not sure why this place is considered "famous" the service was great but the food was terrible. I try not to normally be so negative in my reviews but I struggled to find some positive qualities here. The bacon was precooked bacon from a box, the eggs Benedict eggs were hard boiled, the sweet potato fries were burnt (not caramelized, indeed burnt). The "seafood" platter was served dried out with a bunch of paprika on it no sauce. The fried Sampler was good and came with lots of sauces. The wings were actually pretty tasty but we were surprised that it didn't come with BBQ or Buffalo sauce but that maybe more of western NY thing. We made a special trip to stop here because we heard so many great things. However we would not recommend anyone going out of their way for it. It could be that their menu is just too extensive for the chefs to execute. It is a huge menu about 6 pages worth. So its understandable if they can't nail everything. Overall expensive for dinner food. It is close to great fishing, breweries and a n amazing distillery Do Go Spirits. So in that regard it's convenient. They also have a Tesla charging station in their driveway, so its a great place for that as well.
Wife and I met here with my sister and her boyfriend. Food wasn't the worst, wasn't the best either. I would come here again. It's a nice place to get something to eat and their menu has lots of variety. Waitress was quite rude but I wouldn't hold this against the diner. We all have our bad days.
I have been coming to this diner for decades. My last 2 visits were dissapointing. This past month stopped for breakfast. Ordered watffles with whipped cream. Order came with 3 small waffles (frozen?). Nothing like what i have been getting here for 40 years. The 3 waffles looked very lonely. Waitress who was very nice said they have no whipped cream. I said ok, how about some fruit toppping. Waitress said no fruit in this diner. She did take it back and I ordered 2 eggs and bacon. Nothing else came with it, no bread, potatoes, nothing at all. When bill arrived I was charged for a waffle meal. Bill was 39 dollars. I pointed out the error and cashier called the waitress and went over the bill and said would correct it. Total of revised bill. 39 dollars. I guess that is the new math. Maybe this experience was secondary to winter in the catskills. No longer have a large assortment of bakery products, but the half moon (black and white) was very good, I did not ask where it came from. Coffee was ok and I still have my memories of this aging diner.
Classic diner look, great service, but really mediocre food. I ordered the "special" of the day, a bison burger. It came out less than 5 minutes later, a manufactured frozen patty with fake grill marks; I would be shocked if it was bison, or even mostly meat. Somehow dry and soggy at the same time. My partner's calamari was of similar quality. The fries and coffee were the highlights of the meal. Our waitress was wonderful; the food does a disservice to the service.
Everything was pretty average from the food to ambience to the service. We didn’t go in expecting a fine dine restaurant, and we kind of got what we expected. my friends got the burgers while I got the chicken parm. The chicken Parm itself was quite nice, but the salad and spaghetti accompanying it were pretty disappointing. My friends found their burgers to be pretty average as well. Unfortunately, not a lot of restaurants are open in the area during weekdays, so you might have to come here to get lunch, but just taper your expectations accordingly.
I ordered the western omelet expecting something tasty and was disappointed. No flavor other than the ham and veggies. The omelet wasn't fluffy but flat. What would normally come with a breakf…

Had much higher expectations for this restaurant. Portions were small, they were out of home fries, bathrooms were disgusting, service was fair.
I've been going here for years, never had such a bad experience as I did yesterday. Hostess was not personable, my waiter waited till he thought I was ready to order to finally get my drink. Toast was cold and butter couldn't even melt, never checked to see if everything was fine or not. Omelet had no cheese in it , very disappointed 😞
We were on a family road trip to Niagara Falls, with 15 of us traveling together—part of our family from Colombia and the rest from New York. On the way, we spotted this restaurant and decided to stop for breakfast after seeing some good reviews. Unfortunately, our initial experience wasn’t very welcoming. Since we were a large group, we understood seating could be tricky, but instead of offering any solutions, we were moved around and eventually told to sit at the bar and order separately. The lack of accommodation made us feel a bit ignored. To make matters worse, one of the servers, Donna, was very rude and spoke in a loud, harsh tone that left many of us uncomfortable. That said, I want to highlight the positive side as well—two servers, Hanna and Yvonne, completely turned things around for us. They were kind, patient, and attentive, making sure we were comfortable, got our meals, and felt taken care of despite the rough start. Overall, while our first impression wasn’t the best due to the attitude of one server, the warmth and professionalism of Hanna and Yvonne helped us enjoy our meal and made us forget the negative parts of the experience.
I came here with my family and we got 2 sandwiches with fries and 2 kids meals, 1 coke and 1 beer. $84! ($101 with tip) The service was fine but the food was not impressive. 2/10 will not be returning. They also have a Tesla charging station but it doesn’t work with non-Tesla EVs so I wasn’t able to charge my car while I was there either.
Our waitress was complaining to all the customers the entire time. Another waitress complained a party of 6 was taking up too much space. Very unprofessional all around. It wasn't even that busy. Less than half the tables were occupied. Felt uncomfortable the entire time. Will never go back.

Used to be a good diner until the mid 2000,s… how do you mess up eggs? Probably easiest thing to cook. 2 of us had eggs served 2 different ways. Disgusting. Only reason they’re still in business is because of the location. If you’re heading toward downsville or Walton. Both have unbelievable food.
Where should I start? I love French Onion Soup but here if I could rate it a zero I would. Who over pours pepper into the soup to make it inedible? Why wasn't the soup served before my main course, instead of coming out together? Don't get me started about the handicapped stall in the bathroom? Who puts the rail behind the toilet? I had to go in there to help my family member up because she couldn't reach behind her. Do better!!!!!!
The food is usually cold or stale. The service is usually rude, unless it is one certain worker who is really nice with long dark hair.
Food cold and soggy. Wrong ordered given after confirming multiple times, waitress rude on the phone and the cookies were so stale and hard they hurt my jaw. $42 dollars for terrible food and rude service. Will not be returning.
Small slice of half-baked apple pie and a stingy scoop of ice cream made for mediocre over-priced pie alamode. Coffee was undrinkable. Lady cashing out was not overly welcoming. But, the young waiter was attentive.
The cooks do not care at all about the food they are making. Potatoes at breakfast served lukewarm, the corned beef hash has the texture of canned pet food. The restaurant is clean on the surface, but hasn’t been deep cleaned in too long. The waitresses are nice enough, they just work there, the cooks don’t care! In today’s economy, just make your own eggs.
This diner is catered to retirees that don't care where their money goes. $16 for 2 small coffees and 2 bagels to go... then they ask for a TIP!! 😂
