Best Mongolian BBQ I've ever had. We drove 20 minutes despite living right next to another ironically higher rated Mongolian BBQ just to eat here. The service is fine and the food is absolutely delicious. Their suggested sauce mix is fantastic. I have no idea why it's rated under 4 stars.
This is the way America used to enjoy asian food before Facebook told you to be scared of everything. No frills, just a good meal. You will eat delicious food. You will be full. Anything less is just user error
Very clean and nice. Friendly staff. I followed the directions for the spicy bowl and it was absolutely fantastic! They served us egg rolls with our food which were crispy and delicious. Hats off to the chef. Cheers!
We decided to give this place another try since it had a huge banner up displaying “new management” And we are so pleased with the food and experience. As soon as we walked in, the place smelled fresh of sizzling noodles, music playing in the background with a nice breeze from the fans and AC — this is something that has improved since the last time we were there. We came in closer to 8:15pm for a party of 5, 3 adults and 2 kids. The servers were so accommodating and gave us extra bowls and rice with eggrolls for the children. We were the last party eating but not once, felt rushed to leave. The new owner came by and introduced himself as Chang and he was very hospitable. We are excited for the change of management and we look forward to coming here.
A fantastic experience at this Mongolian restaurant! The service was quick and the staff were genuinely friendly and knowledgeable. We were impressed by how fresh and flavorful the food was, especially the grilled meats and noodles. The Mongolian BBQ is a must-try! The ambiance was equally impressive, with an intimate, cozy feel that made it the perfect place for a dinner outing. The decor featured beautiful Mongolian-inspired elements, which added character and charm to the restaurant. Definitely a place I'll visit again soon!
My experience at this Mongolian restaurant was absolutely fantastic! The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who ensured we had a memorable evening. The food was a true delight, from the succulent meats and fresh vegetables to the perfectly seasoned sauces, every bite was a journey to flavor paradise. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere. I'll definitely be returning to savor this culinary gem!
Good food, beverages are over priced but the food is good.
Their food is very good. You get a bowl and fill it with your raw ingredients, then at the end of the buffet line, a chef cooks your food for you. Delicious!
So Freaking Delicious! I first tried this place on September 16th. Amazing 1st experience & soooooo satisfied 😌 the food is fresh & the Employees Are very nice. Clearly so good, I'm back today to write this review 👌🏼💓 New Date Place ❤️🥰
SFMB is back from the lock down and really stepping up their game! Because of safety, it’s now one serving per order. But look at the size of that serving!!! It is huge!! I was able to eat heartily AND have decent left overs for a snack! Very clean location and incredibly efficient staff!!

This place is amazing. If you love Mongolian then you have to try this place. Wonderful service great food
Food was good. But what was awesome was how they accommodated our children. Let's just say they knew our 1 year old wasnt going to eat $14 worth of food for the all you can eat. So they helped us out there with his meal. Great people 👏
As someone dining alone, I felt welcome from the moment I walked in. The staff greeted me warmly and explained how to create the perfect bowl. I chose lamb with vegetables and noodles, and it was bursting with moky, savory flavors. The rustic interior and view of the chefs cooking over the big grill made the experience unique and able.

Excellent choice of fresh vegetables, 3 meat selections. Includes sm bowl of fried rice and small veggie roll for each diner. Very enjoyable Mongolian bowl! Definitely eat here again!
4/5 This was one of the first few times I’ve had 4/5 Mongolian BBQ. I like this style of choosing your own ingredients like traditional Mongolian barbecue, the flavor was good. My only complaint is that it is very steep in price. For the portion you get it is not worth the 20+ dollars that you spent there , I like that the establishment is organized in terms of seating, and it is clean and hygienic
The food was ok, nothing to write home to momma about. Cashier didn't speak English so I think that was a huge problem and she was rude if that was a lady I'm not sure not trying to be disrespectful.
The food is amazing. You pay for a bowl and then you load it up and the chef throws it on a grill for you. Fast and easy. But this was my first time here and they were nice enough but they didn't explain anything. They also have rules posted. There is no sharing and no food to go. I don't like wasting food so I wasn't thrilled about that.

The food is delicious! I love how clean everything is. They are constantly cleaning the counters after patrons go through the lines. I also love how many sauces there are to add to your dish. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is because of the super small portion of fried rice and the amount they charge if you want another order. The size is comparable to a tiny ice cream scoop and I was charged $2 for an additional tiny scoop. If you want more rice, make your own at home.

Rather go to Silver Garden off of Madison ave in north highlands... tried this place today and they charge $18 a bowl, bowls are tiny, no buffet/unlimited, fried rice was bland, egg roll came with no dipping sauce (it was still good by itself), if you're going to follow their recipes for sauces double on everything because it was extremely bland. Won't be back.
Today, 12/9/2023: Under new management - My large family eats here often and has for years. There have been a few times that we have been disappointed for one reason or another but overall, the food and service is great. I was thrilled when the new management took over a couple of months ago, and lowered the prices. We have been here a few times since the new management took over. Tonight, I was very disappointed. The cups and bowls that we were given to use were dirty. The water cups had obvious dried soap on them that flaked off when rubbed; it covered close to 75% of the cups. The bowls had food on them and were greasy. When I told the woman that gave them to us, she said it was water from the dish washer. I used my finger to wipe through the grease and food to show her. She gave us new bowls and put the dirty ones, that I had wiped my finger through, back into the stack of clean bowls. 🤮🤮🤮 5 years ago: Best Mongolian BBQ in Sacramento!
The food was slightly above average. It was tasty, however I didn’t like the fact that there were unwilling to provide an extra bowl to help push the food down (since the bowls were so small!) so it wasn’t really worth it if you get your food to go. Also, while waiting for my food to cook, the lady packing to-go plates kept walking in front of me and squeezing by not even saying excuse me. When I asked her a question she was really rude to respond and wouldn’t give me any attention. Would I go back ? Maybe. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great. ehhhh
Quick ordering and food making. I like that you get rice and an egg roll. The egg roll was tasty, the rice was not. The bbq was good and I like that they have a take out option. Nothing spectacular about the place but an easy stop right before or after a movie.
This place and the people here are cool. Friendly service, relaxed location and good food. I like the idea of selecting what I want to eat. I being coming here for many years, I’ll be back soon. They are no longer offering all you can eat.

Significantly worse than the Elk Grove location. Like they don't compare. If you're wanting to go here its absolutely worth just driving to the other location. What a travesty.
MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU ARE PAYING AND GET YOUR CHANGE!! They lady that took our money was almost refusing to give me my change, she just kept repeating "Table 5" and extremely slowly gave me my change like I was gonna tell her to keep it as a tip...Now I would've tipped at the end if it wasn't for her doing that! The food was OK but they put Hella water when cooking it so everything got watered down and didn't have much flavor. The eggroll they give you was cold but crunchy and the sweet sour sauce with it was super bland. All in all wouldn't go back. Definitely NOT worth the money spent.
I've been coming here for over ten years with my family and was very disappointed with my visit here tonight. I ordered a bowl to-go and wanted to substitute the eggrolls for another serving of rice. The cashier rang me an extra $1.50 for the extra serving of rice however, I found the serving that I paid for to be less than half the original size serving of rice. On top of that, the eggrolls were still hidden under the parchment paper under the extra rice. In theory, I did get extra food than I asked for but I was just hoping to get a true substitute as I haven't enjoyed the eggrolls in the last few times I visited. In addition, my food was lacking in flavor despite following the restaurant's recipe for sauce additions - I definitely added a generous amount for some sauces more than the recipe recommended. I'm aware they are under new management, but I'm hoping they can do something about their ingredients and service because I loved coming here as a kid.
Went to this establishment on 3/9/25 for lunch with my daughter. We will NEVER go back and DO NOT RECOMMEND. The food was good, except the egg rolls literally had no flavor. Also the “ fried rice” looked like just white rice with a few peas in it, and maybe flavored with a little salt?? Never had fried rice so plain and bland in flavor. Besides the food, the angry/ hostile man at the cash register and the men cooking were very rude to customers and even to the young woman working there serving/cleaning tables. We experienced the rudeness first hand and witnessed it also directed at other customers and their own staff. I ordered all you can eat and the man aggressively grabbed my hand to stamp it, was apparently angry to be there and not at all friendly or welcoming. Then the bowl they give you is the size of a standard cereal bowl and you are supposed to put everything in it to be cooked. After adding frozen rolled up meat and noodles the bowl is pretty full. So I asked for a second bowl for the raw vegetables ( cabbage, broccoli, onions, carrots, etc.) the girl working there was admonished for giving me another bowl, even though I paid for all you can eat. Anyway, after it is cooked it is served in a larger bowl, but even with two bowls of raw food, the final serving bowl was half full. Why not give folks the larger bowl to start? I felt like they were cheating folks that pay for a single serving rather than all you can eat. People had to stack raw veggies so high it was ridiculous, and then to end up with less than half a bowl. Worse than the cheating people, the rudeness of the men was beyond acceptable. We watched the men cooking completely ignore a customer whose food was undercooked. Just ignored him when everyone could clearly hear the customer. I will never go back. Too many options to be treated with hostility and disrespect. Normally the first sign of rudeness we would have left but due to a low sugar episode stayed to get food.
This place had the worst customer service ever! They will just flat out ignore you when you’re asking questions. One guy was attempting to get his food cooked longer as it was still raw and the cook just ignored him! The general feeling in the restaurant is that they don’t want you there. It’s a buffet so you don’t have wait staff but the contact you do have makes you wish you’d gone somewhere else. The food was fine nothing bad but nothing spectacular either and definitely not worth the rude staff. Save your money for people that actually want your business.
I found 2 bugs in my food and who knows how many I ate before finding them. I think they came from the broccoli so if you come here definitely avoid the broccoli. The staff was kind enough to give a refund after showing them the bugs on a napkin but I was definitely disappointed
The service was not the best which usually is made up by the food being good but this was not the case. I will compliment them on the portion size though. Mongolian bbq is my favorite and this was my first time at this place. Not sure why but the food was quite bland even though I put a lot of sauce in my bowl.

i went to eat there at 8pm the two dudes kept staring me down after they cooked my food put it into a bowl and tossed it to me 1/10 don’t go here but the cleaning lady was nice
Extremely hot. They have ceiling fans, but it is so hot in there. The staff is extremely rude. I literally seen them chase people who walked in, looked at the prices, and walked out. They wanted an explanation as to why they left. A fountain drink is 4.50 A 1 bowl lunch is 18.00 We paid 45$ for two of us to eat. The egg rolls were cold. The fried rice was cold. The sauces were extremely watered down. Sad experience being I used to eat here frequently it has sadly gone down the drain. I understand prices have gone up everywhere, but at least serve your guest with a smile.
The guy cooking your bowls for an extremely rude and unpleasant. The lady that rang me up for the all you can eat kept yelling “Are you all you can eat” every time I went up to get another bowl. Wouldn’t be a big deal but there was 2 people in the entire restaurant The grill left a nasty burnt taste in the food. Sauces had no flavor no matter how much you added to it. Everything was so bland. Save your money and time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING $15~$20 here
They charged me to refill my bowl(a first) and I genuinely think the lady was lying about it for the extra cash. She tried to put my change for the 2nd bowl in the tip jar after I already tipped them. Congrats, you made 4 extra dollars and I will never be back again. Get yourself something nice!
Here’s the thing me and my family. I’ve been coming here a long time and never once has the cashier lady ever been rude but today it ruined it from my entire family we paid almost $200 here and that was already pushing it but because we love the place we come here. This was the first time that the cashier lady saw me tip the cooks I always tip the cooks and because I didn’t happen to have cash this one time ever and asked if I can tip with debit I told the cooks I want to give them $10 each for them I made it clear after I did the transaction, she had the audacity to walk up to me and my family as we were trying to clean up our table as we always do for them and tells me “no more food. Where is my money?” I had just got done cleaning up making everything neat and I could not believe she was coming up to me and being so rude. I couldn’t comprehend it because I was trying to get my children ready to go home with my husband and she followed me to the door and kept asking me. Where is my tip? Where is my $10? I thought she was joking until she started to get really rude. If it wasn’t for my children, I probably would’ve got out of character, but I was raised better to respect my elders unfortunately, they lost loyal customers. I’m disappointed Because my kids love this place
While the internet says they're open until 9, they lock the doors at 840 and waste the time of anyone who may have driven any kind of distance to get food.
Food is pretty mid at best, but we'd gone a few times since this is the closest Mongolian BBQ to us, but the service at our last visit was horrible. We paid the all you can eat price and when my husband went to get a second bowl they demanded a receipt, which we couldn't locate, and they told us too bad. Won't be back just because the cashier was so incredibly rude and demeaning to us. Would give 0 stars for the service if I could.
Lots of other good places to eat with friendly staff. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
I was pretty disappointed ☹️. They have another restaurant by the same name in Elk Grove. 5+ Stars to that location by the way. I don’t know where to start. Paper in the bottom of wet noodles & Vegi’s 🤔 The sauces seemed watered down. You are served your food in to go plates. The spring rolls are not very good. Maybe it’s because your rice & spring rolls are just sitting in the to go plates waiting on someone to come. The lady at the front counter was nice but not accommodating at all. Nothing about the “experience” was good. We paid for lunch 59.50 we pay for Dinner in Elk Grove 60.39. Doesn’t make any sense. Elk Grove location Real bowls , cup, silverware. The waitress brings everything to your table. Never again for me. I recommend Elk Grove.
Disappointing. We have been coming to this place for years. Each time, we give them the benefit of doubt that it will get better. But sadly, it’s been declining. Today’s experience was horrible. First time my family did not finish our food. It is tasteless, bland, and disappointing. Sauces are watered downed. Then, while cooking they dumped more water on the noodles. The staff does not look happy at all. The cooks banging throwing bowls around. Not professional.

I visited on 4/19/25. I gave it one star. The bowl of rice and egg roll I was served was extremely cold. The Mongolian had at least one half cup of water in it. My food was extremely soupy. I could taste the cooking oil, and you could see it. Floating in the bowl of Mongolian. The Mongolian didn't have any taste to it. I wasn't served a napkin, or offered water. I found out management had changed. The old owners had higher standards, and the food was always excellent. I couldn't eat the food. I left over half the bowl, didn't eat the egg roll or rice. Total waste of my hard earned money. I'll never go back again!!!!!!! Also, not many items to choose from to make your Mongolian bowl. Save your money, and don't vest at this establishment. Just a note...I noticed the reviews. That have four stars. They are mostly posted. Before they changed owners. They changed owners within the last two years. The majority of post that state the food is good!! Is when the old owners owned it. Which was two years ago. Alot of old post from four years ago. Beware don't go, and waste your money!!!❤️❤️❤️💗💗💗😭😭😭😭😭😭
Horrible service! I paid for an all you can eat lunch. On my second time around I was told that I only paid for a one time serving. I told her no, I paid for all you can eat. It was just a misunderstanding but the way I was treated was disrespectful. She demanded I pay $2.80 for an all you can eat. I was shocked and by this time I lost my appetite. So I gave her my bowl and sat down and waited for my friends to eat. Funny thing is I probably would have come back before she did this. For $2.80 she lost all my future business.
Food is not bad although the cooks water down your bowls for some reason. Whenever I get my bowl back, thd foid is soaked in water and the flavors have dissapeared. Also if it's slow inside, the chefs will sit there and mean mug you. Then say something in their language to the workers so the workers are mean mugging then too. Very uncomfortable environment. I paid for all you can eat, but was not comfortable with all their stares so I asked for a togo box for my second helping and they refused. Whdn j explained that i paid extra they pretended to not understand and went tk the back and did not come back out for what seemed like 5 minutes. I thought she went to get me a box but then i noticed the boxes by the register. The only reason they came back out was bc someone walked in for a pickup order. I was too shy to say anything again so I just left. Horrible service. Like the worst of the worst.
Left as soon as I saw a cockroach crawling near the spinach. The lady tried to hide it by putting her hand over it but then their was cocroach residue from her squishing it. I almost threw up. Never ever coming back. And those dudes cooking the food are miserable to be there. I wouldn't be surprised if they put the cockroach there themselves. Ugh just horrible. Absolutely horrible.
Came last week to eat but left soon after paying bc a customer next to me dropped meat on the floor then picked it up to give the worker to throw in the trash, but the worker put it back in the tray. We were in shock. When I said something to her she dissapeared to the back and started talking crap about me to her coworker. I asked for a Refund right away I hadn't even made it to the veggies yet before handing them my bowl because I didnt want to eat there anymore. They refused my refund and I left. Luckily my friend works for code enforcement so they will be getting a call for inspection soon. Disgusting.
I came here twice in the last few months and both times were interesting to say the least. Staff is not very friendly or accommodating. The cook completely ignored me and I saw the employees touching their faces and handling food. This could be a great establishment, but it seems like the employees don't want to be there and are not very welcoming. Review update 12/5 I had to reduce stars from 3 stars to 1 because they treat guests with offensive suspicion.
