I was having a horrible day, my plans got ruined just happened upon Skip’s on my way back to the airport. I walked in 4 minutes past the end of the lunch special, but they honored it. I ordered shrimp and fries. Nicely seasoned. I got some Skip’s sauce for my fries. Don’t skip the sauce. Had a good conversation with the owner too. When I thanked him for honoring the lunch special because I was having a horrible day and it was my birthday, he gave me free cake. Best part of my day. There are still kind people in the world, support them.

So, I just tried SKIPS Fish & Chicken for the first time and it was delicious! Not only was the food hot but, an overall welcome vibe existed! The crew was amazing, energetic and friendly!! The choices were many and the wait time was low!!! Obviously the management know what they are doing and they have hired folks that love ❤ their jobs!!! Thanks Mr. SKIPS for a new delectable place to eat!!!

Wowww. Perfectly crispy, fluffy and moist! This catfish is done right along with the massive sized shrimps! The manager, Maliyah was super nice and professional and helpful. This was my 1st time here and she was so sweet and even offered me a better meal selection than I had chosen. The place was spotless and the food was incredible. Slight ding on the fries. I think they should go with a thicker fry and make sure they stay crispy. Stay consistent and the sky is the limit for this place! Bottom line, when I buy fried catfish in SacCity, this is where I will be going, period!

I was visiting my sister she swears by this place I got the small catfish 4 nice pieceds of fish ton of fries and bread delicious! The cashier was friendly and I think the owner or manager came and spoke!

High marks!! The fish was crispy and well seasoned and stayed crunchy through the car trip. The chicken was less seasoned but was juicy and tender. Crinkle cut fries aren't my favorite but done well they never go out of style. I also got greens. They were VERY tasty, if a bit salty and I'd have loved some smoke flavor in there. Overall I'd give it an 8.5/10. I can definitely go there a lot

Food was great, fish fried perfectly. Would've given five stars but this place needs a good thorough cleaning. With all that's going on with Covid, Monkeypox and God knows what else is out here, people really need to adhere to keeping things clean. Don't think I'll be going back, but the four stars is because of the good fish and fries I had. I went once before and the chicken wings were seasoned well tasted good but needed to be cooked a bit longer. I put them in the microwave and cooked them off done more.

I think the food and drinks were decent. Went there for the first time and ordered chicken tenders with some fries that came with BBQ sauces. I really like the fries because they were thick and crispy. The chicken tenders were dry but had good seasoning on it. Ordered the fruit punch drink and it was nice. Would recommend if you just want something to munch on. But it is pretty pricey in my opinion.

Fish is always a hit with skips sauce and I usually get the jumbo shrimp… as you’ll see they switched to frozen shrimp had I known I wouldn’t of order paying about $40 pick 3

It was a great concept and has done rant awesome features for the kids to play on, but as a small town person going there was chaotic my family and I went earlier in the day around 10 AM and were told we would have to wait an hour to be admitted to play because it was at capacity we returned later around 2:30 and we're allowed to go in but it was still crowded so it was a great concept I just feel it needs a more spacious area

The fried shrimp was only OK! I'd rather drive across town to Ocean Fish or even Pete's Pizza for fish that is cooked well and good-sized portions. I won't be back, maybe for the hush puppies, but that is all. It was only $15 for a plate, but it was still not worth it.

They have a sign posted that you pay a fee for credit card use. That being said I was charged basically half a dollar using my debit card. I asked why the cashier stated EVERYONE IS CHARGED!! What's that about. Sadly I will be going to another location. The food is very good thank goodness!

We ordered Snapper Fish and Chips, Shrimp PoBoy, Chicken tender and Hush Puppies. Snapper Fish and Chips was pretty good, but the bun for PoBoy was very dry. Chicken tender was below par, and Hush Puppies were old and dry because kept too long in the warmer.

Food was great as usual. Been going to the Watt Ave location for a few years. The reason I gave just 3 stars is because the service needs much improvement. Waited 5 minutes for someone to come to the counter and take orders. The person taking orders should have a personality that is welcoming to customers. I’m sure customers get their nerves at times but we still should be treated like our business is appreciated. Employees need to carry themselves more professionally. Cussing and loudly complaining shouldn’t happen in the presence of customers. Hoping things improve.

That being said, this was my first visit to Skip's, so I didn't know what to expect. I did read online reviews, but some were a little outdated, so I decided to see for myself. I ordered a 16-piece catfish nugget combo with fries and potato salad. The potato salad was tasty. The catfish was seasoned well, but was fried TOO HARD. I attribute this to a staffing shortage... the one worker having to do it all and having multiple orders to prepare by herself, that maybe she allowed the catfish to fry longer than they should have. I also ordered a snapper combo with fries for my sister. She was unhappy with both the fish and the fries... and I agreed with her... they were unseasoned and tasteless. $49 for marginal food is not desirable...especially if we're going to throw it away because it isn't palatable, which we did do. Do better, please.

Tried this place twice in the past three weeks. For whatever reason, the floor looked clean but was sticky everywhere. Kinda weird but no biggie. The cashier/cook does seem kind of annoyed to take orders. I ordered the mac and cheese with the regular chicken sandwich the first time. The sandwich was alright, but the mac had no seasoning at all. it tasted like nothing. Second visit I ordered the buffalo sandwich with a side of fried okra. The side was okay and so was the sandwich.

I ordered the catfish PO Boy sandwich and it was very disappointing to say the least. It was very dry and the sandwich had more bread than fish. I thought I was getting Coleslaw on the instead it was on the sandwich. The only good thing was the fries. For the price negative review.

The restaurant is nice and clean because it's new. The food is good. But the prices are high considering the customer service needs improvement. I was there yesterday to pick up my online order at the time I was told it would be ready. I still waited over 30 min and they got my order wrong. Several things were missing so I had to wait some more for them to be cooked. I placed the order online because I didn't want to wait forever but I still did. The staff was nice and apologetic but they either need more staff or faster workers. They knew people were waiting for a long time and it seemed like there was no sense of urgency. I gave a tip with my payment online but I don't think it was deserved.

Giving this a 2 star only cause the guy at the counter was nice. Other than that the fish was 3 small little pieces, definitely not worth the price. I asked for 3 piece tenders and got 3 piece wings which was disappointing cause I don’t do wings. The person who gave me my bag of food was not friendly and seemed like they didn’t want to be there at all. Was actually looking forward to this place and have been for a while since I live down the street from it. But after this experience, I will sure not be returning.

The chicken was pretty good. The fish was terrible. It was not cooked long enough... the fries, some were weird tasting, some were actually done. The atmosphere, not so good. I may return for chicken and okra. But there's so many other places to get better fish from.

I am displeased with the Lack of Customer Service Skills from the worker named Jyoti at Skips Fish & Chicken. I ordered a combo on 06/17/2024 around 1:30PM with just meat and cheese only. I didn’t want any extras, like Mayonnaise , etc as I am allergic to Mayo; and I did inform her of this. When I received my sandwich, I saw that there was Mayonnaise on it, so I let Jyoti know that I would need my sandwich remade due my allergies. Jyoti then began to argue that I didn’t mention that I didn’t want Mayo. I reminded her that I said meat & cheese only. She then told me that she couldn’t remake the sandwich because I didn’t say that I didn’t want Mayo on it… I reminded her of my allergies to Mayonnaise and she wasn’t listening to me. She began arguing with me about what I said, and rolled her eyes when I told her that I am done talking with her because she wasn’t listening to me. I asked to speak to her manager and she kept trying to tell me she wouldn’t replace it or give me a refund due to their “No Refund Policy”, she kept trying to remind me of what she thought “I told her” and let her know that that was fine, I just wanted to talk to her manager. She went to call somebody from the back. A guy came to the front who claimed to be the “owner” of Skips Fish & Chicken. He was argumentative with me as well when I informed him that Jyoti was being rude towards me. He said that “it just sounds that way because English is her second language”, and I let him know that I didn’t mention anything about her tone of voice. She rolled her eyes and refused to replace the order that wasn’t made correctly, and was argumentative with me about what she THINKS I said. I asked him for his District Sales Manager’s number, or higher ups phone number and he said that nobody else is above him, as he is the owner.. He kept going back and forth and arguing with me acting like he wasn’t going to replace the food or even give me a refund until I asked him for both of their names so I can leave a review online. He didn’t tell me either of their names, but I had the servers/cashiers name from the receipt she gave me and he finally gave me a refund so I took my refund and left. Worst customer service EVER. I am never coming back here again and wouldn’t recommend anybody come here either.

I bought chicken and shrimp and it tasted like it had been cooked last week! It was OLD and tasteless. A big waste of $28! Save you money and go across the street to Carl's Jr. Way better food! Now I know why the place was totally empty when I went there.

Average strip mall atmosphere dirty parking lot noisy car traffic fish & fries homeless loitering honestly it was terrible fries where cold charged for cup of water and we literally seen rat turds along floor along wall (inside) owner must have friends in the health dept ? Do not waste your time with this location. Terrible customer service I have ever seen on my life . I called twice to put my order but the the employee put me a long hold and than I called twice same thing happened. After reviewing the previous reviews regards food … thanks God I did not waste my money ..

They don’t honor the weekly specials although they are listed on their website. When questioned about why the prices are different the staff responds “he didn’t up the prices yet”. Who is the “he” because no one seems to know who he is when you ask for him.

Blech! Fish was chewy, fries were not crinkle like they show in pics, place was empty, okra was same as bags from Walmart, Mac and cheese bland and a small means small. Only reason why 1-star is for Skips sauce but that can be made at home too.

While the food looks and tastes great, it is ridiculously overpriced. They charge $18 for a shrimp po'boy and a small side of fries. I have paid similar prices at a sit-down restaurant and received more in terms of both shrimp and fries.

I went there today and it seemed like it's under new ownership, the vibe was not as it was but my biggest complaint is about the FOOD. Ordered the Nashville spicy combo with fries and a drink. The food took long as usual but when it came out the batter on the chicken was EXTREMELY salty and the fries were hot on the outside and cold on the inside and very stale. I brought it to the ladies attention who I'm assuming is the new owner and she was helpful but she came out from the back and contradicted my claim of the salt and said "there is no salt". Absolutely false claim. My 7 year old son was squinting his eyes and complaining after 2 bites. I ended up getting replaced with 3 pieces of fish that was OK but nothing to talk about. Please don't cut corners and ask ridiculous prices for mediocre food! Listen to your customers' concerns otherwise the business will not last. Very very unfortunate.
