Visited for the first time and have to admit I was wary because of the reviews. Ended up talking with the owner for a few minutes and he was incredibly friendly. He's been running the place for 40 years. We talked about the history of the establishment and how he got into the gelato business. No rudeness and delicious gelato. The small seating area in the back was very nice for our small group. I would highly recommend it and plan to go back often.

Delicious ice cream and fairly priced big scoops! Kids loved it. No line up. Paid with visa by tap. Owner was patient and polite to me. I would go back. Not sure about the other reviewers giving this guy one star, definitely not a single star establishment. Yummy!

This was my first time at this local favorite that has been serving San Anselmo for At least 15 years ( that's when my niece, who introduced me to this place, first became a fan ). The friendly owner was behind the counter, working hard to scoop treats for the long line of eager eaters. I had the Carmelo Chocolate Crunch gelato, and as a chocolate ice cream aficionado, it gets my highest rating. Definitely recommend!

One of the good Gelato to have Small shop in a very beautiful San Anselmo town. It was a drizzling afternoon and we just had our lunch. We had been talking about Italy and gelatos over lunch and while we were returning back to car we found the shop and couldn’t resist ourselves. We ordered chocolate gelato and started to speak to Uncle who served us. He was so good to talk to and it just made our day. I would love to go back just to meet him again :) Gelato (while no once can compare to one’s you get in Italy) was good and I would definitely recommend it.

Great taste and various flavors. Parking can be tricky and they do NOT accept cards. It is a cash only establishment. I was able to order two flavors in one scoop, which was nice. Coconut Macadamia Nut and Darth Vader Dark Chocolate.

Bit pricey really but OMG the gelato is good, and you can sit in the heat at the picnic tables by the creek, so sweet, a nice moment with the kids.

Good gelato. A little sweet to be perfect Italian but definitely better than anything else in Marin. Somewhat annoying that you have to order a huge size to get two flavours. Unfortunately they use plastic and uncompostable pots and spoons, which they should stop doing.

Great sorbeto, the owner is the rudest person to work at an ice cream shop.Love Live on the avenue festival was happening and he treated customers very badly. I wouldn't not recommend people to come here even if the gelato is good.

I went there to get coffee because I saw a coffee menu inside and the guy was arguing that they don’t serve coffee. Their was no need to be aggressive over a simple question I had…

Don’t even remember the taste of the ice cream. Spanish guy that works there was soo rude to us it ruined the whole experience. When we came to the shop it was closed( door was locked during business hours) and the guy that works there came out of the car and was yelling at us because we pulled the door “ the door is broken don’t pull it, don’t touch the door I said!” Then he opened the door and literally pushed kids out of the shop because he needed to enter and take some time there without us. He was upset because we didn’t know what flavor we wanted right the way( there were eating of us) I understand it’s post Covid and everyone is short on staff but it doesn’t mean staff should be rude to customers. Not planning to come back.

He didn't want to make coffee at 7pm so he said it wasn't available and was horribly rude about it saying loudly "I don't want to make it, I already cleaned the machine". The whole point of an affogato is to have espresso poured over your gelato. I hope he wasn't the owner.

I've been coming here with my family for 18 years and now that is in question because of the highly undesirable personality behind the counter, who unfortunately is training a hire right beneath him to be a mirror of his negative self.
