First, I'm not the biggest fan of Mexican food. I know that's not a popular opinion living here in South Texas, but something about cilantro just doesn't taste good to me. Anyway, El Mirasol may have just set me straight. Let me just say the food was amazing! The restaurant itself is beautiful. They have plenty of space for big parties. I was actually there for a birthday party, and there was plenty of room. The staff was amazing! Very friendly and spot on with everything they were doing. The menu isn't overly complicated, and I love that. The drinks were nice and strong...and the chips and salsa! Omg, I would go back just to eat their chips and salsa. The salsa isn't too spicy, has a slight smokey flavor, and best of all, ...no cilantro that I could detect. I can't wait to go back!
This place is absolutely delicious.. different made from scratch salsas, authentic flavor and tasty recipes are just a few reasons it’s one of the best. From the moment you walk in your welcomed and immediately serviced, very few spots are as quick as this place. The servers are knowledgeable, courteous and welcoming. Service displays in even the most minor of details.. even if your server is busy their is always some one walking around attentively refilling water and tea glasses as well as serving their delicious made in house tortilla chips with salsa. Their tea always has a refreshing freshly brewed taste and truthfully I could go on and on and how great their running this establishment. Been here a million times… a few favorites “Un poquito de todo plate” .. “Tacos al Carbón”.. “Enchiladas Soluna” and just about everything in their menu.
I love meals at El Mirasol, their variety of options for main meals and appetizers, and of course: Chispas which is really all you need to know! Service can get a bit slow during busy times like the lunch rush but most of the time it's very attentive. Try their patio for a nice change of pace.
After talking my daughter and her family into dining at El Mirasol I had no regrets because they all fell in love with the food and atmosphere! My daughter loved her mole enchiladas! She said she wants to go back so she can try the carne de puerco because it looked so scrumptious!! My son in law loved everything he devoured on his poquito de todo platter! The quesadilla looked so delicious that she ended up eating half of it. The salsa and chips were also very tasty and not so hot that your tongue felt burnt. Everything was out of this world delicious! The beans were so good that it reminded me of my childhood. Mom made great Mexican food and her beans were the best! I could have made a meal out of them!!
This is our absolute favorite place! We’ve been coming here for years — we’re true “regulars” and love it! The management and staff are amazing — always so attentive and they truly treat us like family. Ricardo, Priscilla, and the entire team are so welcoming; they always stop by our table to say hi and make our daughters feel right at home. We celebrate every holiday and birthday here, and it’s the first place we take family and friends when they visit from out of town. The food is always delicious and the service is top-notch. Highly recommend!
I ordered the Un Poquito De Todo (A little bit of everything) one cheese enchilada, one chicken flauta, carne asada soft taco and a cheese quesadilla, rice and charro beans, Pico de gallo on the side, and some guacamole salad and ice Tea. 25 dollars before tip. Overall, the food was very well made and delicious. They have a full bar, no sweet tea because that is what I asked, only serve unsweetened, I asked for a Mexican coke but they do not serve that. None of that was a deal breaker for me. I really do not drink alcohol so not sure what the tab would be on drinks. Atmosphere--Fancy joint, which is expected since it is in the Alon shopping center. Noise level was a bit high but it was busy so it was not a nuisance to me, probably gets louder in the evenings so expect to speak in a louder voice at night. Attire--probably during the day get away with casual, in the evening probably a bit more dressed up nothing formal but I wouldn't walk in wearing flip flops and a tank top at night, that's just my view. Recommend this place? Yes if you are looking to impress on a first date, splurge for an anniversary or special occasion. Will I go back? Yes, but not if it's just me, definitely with a group of people In my opinion this replaces Tiagos that was at The Rim.
This place was wonderful great food great they Great salsa and cheese dip salsa and not to mention the nachos. service by Geraldo. He was outstanding. Hope to see you soon Geraldo, and Best drinks in town lol ... And thank for taking care of my familia ☺️ 💗 Thank you for all your hard work !! Ruby & Twins
I recently had lunch at El Mirasol in San Antonio, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a great meal. The service was fast and attentive, yet never rushed just the kind of balance you hope for when enjoying good food and conversation. One of the highlights of the experience was their excellent selection of alcoholic beverages, including a creative lineup of mixed drinks that perfectly complemented the meal. We decided to try the “Un Poquito de Todo” platter a fantastic choice if you’re new to the restaurant or just want to sample several of their popular dishes. It was generous, flavorful, and gave us a great overview of what El Mirasol has to offer. But the true standout of the night was the “Tacos Norteños.” Without exaggeration, these were some of the best tacos I’ve had in quite some time. Each order comes with two large tacos, filled with perfectly cooked steak, creamy beans, and melted cheese all wrapped in a warm tortilla. The flavors were rich and satisfying, and the portion size was more than generous. Whether you're local or just passing through San Antonio, El Mirasol is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, great drinks, and an all around great vibe.
We beat the dinner rush and had no wait for a table for 3. The server was fantastic. We had the crab taquitos (highly recommend!) And queso for our appetizer. For the meal we shared the Fiesta Nachos and the fajitas. Everything was a hit and not a single thing brought to our table had issues. We will definitely be returning ♡
This was the best Mexican food I have ever had. From now on, every time I see a pig's rear end, I'm going to smile and think about the amazing tacos I had here. Just get the pork butt tacos and you will be happy. The salsa was a bit bland, but the chips were great as was the guac we ordered for the table. We got a few other tacos too, including some shredded beef which was excellent. But, seriously - pork butt tacos.
Good food, good service but if you come on a Friday afternoon be prepared to wait. The lines get looooong. Had the Fajita enchiladas, meat was tender and tasty refried beans needed some salt, but the borracho beans were good. Round 2 for a friend's bridal shower, service was great and so was the food. Will definitely be back on a regular. 👍👍
Had family visiting from California, and we decided to stop by El Mirasol for Sunday Brunch – what a fantastic choice! The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of flavorful dishes. The service was top-notch; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made our experience even more enjoyable. Everyone in our group was impressed! Highly recommend this spot for a memorable meal. Five stars all the way!
This place was amazing! The Chispas (Low Calorie Margarita) were mixed to perfection and so good! I had the Mole Enchiladas, a nice take on the traditional Mexican dished in to an enchilada . Flavor was there on everything, I couldn’t put my tongue on the rice , it wasn’t my favorite but will definitely try it again.
Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to, and one of my favorite restaurants period. The food, service, and drinks are of equal excellence—a rare feat. With a vast menu of delicious offerings, I couldn’t get burned out here if I tried, which says a lot considering we eat here at least twice a week. Huge shout out to Mery, Erick, Gustavo, Zolo, Luis, Oswaldo, Domingo, Laritza, Cristian, Juanito, Edith, Fernanda, Franko (now at Napa Oaks), and anyone else I may be forgetting. The whole staff is phenomenal and a large part of this being my happy place.

Disfruté los tacos de Ribeye con una Chispa en El Miraso. El servicio fue excelente. Tuve una cita maravillosa para cenar.

Good great, ambiance is really nice. Sangria was amazing. Our waiter was quick and very attentive. Was not that expensive either.
Literally never had mexican food this good. The salsa was fresh. The ceviche was amazing. The mole was like...the best mole I ever had.

My family loves this place. Great entrees, great drinks, great salsa. Here’s the problem. The new queso is WAY too runny. It seems like Mirasol is going through a queso identity crisis. It was white queso for a few months, now it’s back to yellow but it’s just not good. Don’t go back to white! But fix the yellow queso! If it weren’t for this, Mirasol would be our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. But as any San Antonian knows, you’re only as strong as your queso. Currently Mirasol has the worst queso of any of our go-tos (Mirasol, Paloma, El Jarro).
I had the shrimp quesadilla and my wife had the lobster enchiladas. The enchiladas were light and delicately flavored. They were different but still delicious. The chips and salsa weren't great; the chips were stale and hard while the salsa was underwelming. The rice stood out as very good. We never saw a drink menu so that's a shame. The shrimp quesadillas were good but not substantially better than other places. At least this place seasons the shrimp properly. Probably wouldn't wait 20 mins outside in the cold for a table again (because you can't wait ar the bar), but I'm glad I came here.
This restaurant has been on my list to try for the last four years and I finally got to go. It’s worth a visit and I’ll return to try more dishes, but definitely worth it for the Chispas (margaritas). At 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon, this place was almost fully packed. The Chispa I ordered was strawberry. Absolutely perfect. Ended up having two and I don’t know if I would have been able to drive after them both. Luckily, I was passenger today. My friend ordered a jalpeno chispa with another flavor in it. They loved it too. You are given complimentary chips and salsa, but the salsa is more of a mole and the chips are really thick. Not my favorite and the main reason why they lost a star. I prefer a crispier lighter chip and red salsa. I ordered Pollo Parillada and they were delicious. Could have used more chicken but it’s a bit pricier place than other Mexican restaurants. My friend ordered Chicken Flautas. They were good. For an app we ordered the large Queso Casera (yellow queso with some tomatoes in it). For $12.95, I wouldn’t order it again. Our server Mateo was phenomenal. He was truly one of the best servers I’ve had in a restaurant. Super friendly and knowledgeable about the entire menu. Checked up on us. 10/10! This establishment does not offer a military discount.
Atmosphere is noisy and hard to hear the person next to you. I'd suggest waiting for a booth as there was separation from tables. Food was bland and overpriced for the taste. Waiter was nice and ha…
Really good TexMex. The “light” margaritas are just traditional margaritas, tequila, orange liqueur & fresh lime juice. Get those!

We wanted to like this place, and have given it a try twice now but it's just so bad. Let's start with the chips: so hard and brittle you can barely eat them without risking a broken tooth. The enchilada gravy tastes like a cheap 'just add water' seasoning mix. The chicken fajitas, if you can call them that, were dry, tough and had no flavor/seasoning. They came in flour tortillas that were soggy. After requesting fresh tortillas, those were so tough it made the soggy ones preferable. The rice also tastes like a cheap seasoning mix box. The atmosphere is hellishly loud, with the inset porticos that flank the booths creating an echo that amplifies the conversations of the booths around you. We couldn't even hear ourselves talk. The only redeemable quality is that the front desk staff are friendly and helpful, and the waitstaff are decent. It's mind-boggling this how place is so busy.

Can you believe that in this city that businesses need money and they refuse or can't accommodate your party at a restaurant due to lack of employees or because it's too busy at that time for them …

We booked a private room for a celebration and a customer broke into the party room verbally assaulting us thinking we asked her if she worked at the restaurant. Management did nothing! As we were leaving this person and their party continued to harass us. We did not feel safe, nor did management protect our safety during our party. We will not be coming back nor booking further events..buyer beware! If you want classy then this place is not for you even in a private room.
I saw on social media how my friend and her wife were treated at this restaurant, and it broke my heart. They are an incredibly loving and devoted family, and no one should ever be humiliated for simply being who they are. Families like theirs deserve respect, kindness, and understanding everywhere they go. I fully support them and hope the restaurant takes this as a lesson to treat all families with dignity. And if you are part por the community 🏳️🌈 THIS IS NOT A PLACE THE WELCOME YOU ! 😒
