The burgers here are very delicious and the fries are fresh. The customer service is also outstanding everyone here is genuine and friendly!

This place is definitely a hole in the wall, but I would recommend it to anybody that’s in the area we went on a Saturday. The general area was quite busy so maybe recommend going a different time but the food was so good. We took it to go, and I will say those are some of the best fries that I ever have and the burger was really good as well . We will return and also the customer service at the drive-through was good. The lady who helped us was really nice and greeted us with a smile, even though they were busy.

I have to say that this burger was freakin awesome! The taste was great. I think that it's better than the other boys burger. For real. Hands down. There was no extra bread to cut off. The meat filled it completely. Good choice tonight!

Griff's offered one of the best burgers I've ever had. It wasn't trying hard to be something it's not and every part of it was just the right amount for what I was looking for. The proportions of everything on the burger were perfect. I didn't feel like there was too much of one thing or another. Taste was fantastic. Great service and definitely a spot I'll be going to again.

You get more bang for your buck than any chain burger place. Burgers are juicy, the fries are crisp (and only come in one size) and the onion rings are great. I usually order drive through and I’ve never had a wrong order. If you get the cheeseburger they are a little on the greasy side but in a delicious way.

Sitting right next to Rolando's tacos. I can't say that I ever truly noticed this place. It was recommended to me by family member. So on Saturday afternoon I decided to check it out. I can say that I was happy that I chose to go. Among all the fast food restaurants that this place is close to. I believe that Whataburger and perhaps Burger boy are among the closest to this place. However, this small little restaurant has it down. I chose just a regular hamburger, no cheese. Along with an order of fries and a drink. Let me tell you, definitely a winner. First off, the burger was not dry and it was not soggy. The portions of ingredients were not overlapping like some restaurants I've been to. Also, the ingredients were fresh and crispy. I don't think anybody likes soggy lettuce or pickles. The meat was very lightly seasoned. I know some people like more seasoning and some people don't like any. I think this was a great middle point. After all, you can't satisfy everybody. Still, the taste of the burger alone was awesome. The fries were definitely a winner. Terrific flavor and lightly salted. The texture was nice and crispy, but not so much that you felt like you were biting into an overcooked potato. Another thing to note, my fingers were not left drenched in oil. I don't know the process of their cleaning or recycling oil. But these french fries definitely tasted fresh. I was not expecting much from the soft drink. However, I loved the nugget ice. There's just something about nugget ice that supersedes all other ice cubes. They definitely did not over stuff the cup with ice. It was a definite good tasting drink. The staff was also friendly and cooperative. They asked if we needed any condiments. Which I definitely appreciate it. Some places just put it automatically and other places don't give you jack shit. So much compliments to the staff. Now I did go through the drive-thru. There was a slight wait time. 3 minutes 37 seconds. Now I only give this number, not to bash on their speediness, but to provide everyone with unexpected wait time. After all, they're making your food fresh. This isn't a microwave dinner after all. Needless to say, I enjoyed this experience very much. I look forward to coming again in the future.

Only wished their sitting area was a tad updated w a leaky ceiling. But w these prices, I totally understand!!! Only place I can feed 5 guys and myself under $60. My boys are all big men and grown up but still my kids. It's a drive for us but its so worth the hassle. Remember its not exactly pretty inside but the prices, food, and tea is so worth it!!!!

As soon as I opened the door I was hit with an amazing smell of burgers on the grill and it made me even hungry. Lady at the front was patient and quick and gave me my drink when I finished ordering. Prices are very reasonable but cash and card only which works perfectly for normal people. The place was cleaner than most restaurants and the bathrooms are just as clean. The interior is very burger joint like and has a great atmosphere. Ordered a burger alone and a chicken sandwich combo. Food took a while to come out but that’s just because of the chicken sandwich. Burger was pretty good despite it being not as hot because it was sitting waiting on the sandwich. They gave me an extra fry and a corn dog. I dont know it was a mistake or them trying to say sorry for the wait but the good dog was like a trip down memory lane because I haven’t seen or ate one in years. The chicken sandwich really hit the spot and tasted excellent. Lastly love the fries and how they’re perfected salted. The only suggestion I have is to add mayo packets with the ketchup and mustard.

The burger was, dare I say Amazing. Yup nothing from the looks of it screamed life changing burger inside. The menu looks, well meah. The service and music stuck in the 90's. The presentation of the food ant the Ritz Carlton. But as soon as you take your first bite your taste buds whiskey away into a land far away and a time since passed when food was actually good. This burger was not just good it was great. I don't know why I ever wasted my money going to McDonald's, Whataburger or any of those other establishments. This is almost like what Whataburger was before it was a corporate Juggernaut and killed the flavor in search of more profits. This place probably doesn't make a lot but man if more people knew about this they would take over the nation. The only downside I saw was the food score was a b/83 and I'm not going to lie that doesn't bother me because the food was just so good to even care about the health score. hopefully that changes soon. But honestly the food was so good I would still be back.

The root beer soda was excellent. I love the burgers, burritos, shakes, onion rings and soda. The have the best prices for their combos. The service needs a bit of improvement. It's rare that you see the wait staff smile or greet you happily. When I asked a question about condiments the person attending the window shrugged the question off with, "I don't know." Did not bother to ask anyone that worked in the kitchen about my inquiry and left it alone. Management really needs to emphasize the importance to being friendly and helpful. I go there for the burgers and burritos. But would like to be greeted with smiling faces and helpful staff. Revised. The place was packed today. I've never seen it as busy as it has ever been. There parking lot was full. There was a constant line from counter to door. Unfortunately, the poor kid they had expediting the orders was screwing the orders. He miss heard my order and it was a good thing I checked my order before leaving. I understand the rush they were in. But they have to take their time to do things right. Even the kitchen made mistakes and didn't do a good job at making the burgers I ordered. But I do consider that they are getting so much business and they have to expedite the orders fast. Check your orders before you leave and make sure they made the burger to how you asked for it. I still love Griff's. They need more than one person up front taking down the orders. The poor kid today seemed hard of hearing and looked confused and overwhelmed.

I’ve been coming here over and over and I absolutely love it one of my top burger joints, and it’s very competitive. The prices only thing was this time they left my strawberry shake in the tin and it started to slowly melt away while we had already ate our food and still did not see my milkshake ready and I went to ask him and he said oh yeah it’s coming up and poured in the cup only thing that Caught my nerve but most of the time they are always on point and I will continue to come here. Double cheeseburger combo with a large drink and good fries only like right under 11.00 with tax. Definitely worth it.

Great greasy burger place. One of the better classic burger joints in San Antonio. However, need to clean up the appearance inside, as well as the restrooms. Sticky floors, dirty areas, and overall lack of maintenance doesn't send the ideal message to those visiting. However, the burgers are stellar, so I guess stick to the drive-thru and all will be fine for this burger lover.

Is my number one place for getting something to eat when I'm in a bad mood to make me feel better. For about 2 years I've been coming here even if the drive-thru line is a 20-minute wait. Today was the first time that I had an additional piece of paper inside my bag. And I just want to point out that poverty for the last 30 years has been defined by $1,200 a month. And if you're making $10 an hour you're making about $100 more than that net. The average single adult in the United States needs a minimum of $17 an hour to pay for survival. Burgers are in the top five for the entire city. I just didn't know that it was at the expense of underpaid labor.

We did a drive through and ordered our food. The Double meat double cheeseburger was hot and delicious. The buns were toasted just right. The French fries were ok. Overall a good burger choice.

Overall the prices went up a little, but you can't beat Griff's. Way better than the Jack in the Box next door. Old school burgers and fries. Had the Rootbeer and my son had the iced tea. Fries were great and the burger had that same great taste from when I was a kid. I paid about $15 for both of us. A little walk down memory lane.

You're never going to beat griffs. I lived up in Richardson Texas and that location was put up at the corner of Jupiter and Buckingham back in the 80s. So when I found this place in San Antonio I was happy to see there was one around. Still great burgers. But clean y'all's filthy bathrooms. Thought I was going to get gangrene in your bathrooms

We're not from San Antonio, but this spot had great reviews and we were hungry, so Griff's seemed to fit the bill. I ordered the #5 with bacon and mushrooms. My boyfriend ordered the #1 with bacon. Fries - Hot, but kinda soft, and lacked salt. Drink - I loved the huge, old-school foam cups. Burger - Big, hot, and made how I requested. It was pretty yummy, could've used a bit more seasoning though. Service - There were 4-5 cars ahead of us when we got in line at 930p. We had our food within 20min. They definitely seemed to move pretty quickly. Nice little burger joint with good prices. The area is a little rough, but don't let that deter you. Recommended.

This was the 2nd visit I made, but decided to dine in compared to eating it in the car the 1st time. Service was terrible. No greeting or acknowledgment while waiting literally feet away from the workers. Dining area was filthy with trash, food crumbs, and wet spots on the tables and floor. As shown on the picture, quality of the steak fingers were gross. Worker was really annoyed when I brought them back up and manager didnt care. Now with that being said, their burgers are one of the best in the city! Really. It was another home run with the burgers and fries. I will be back again, but will definitely be going through the drive thru from here on out.

What can I say — it’s the OG Griff’s. I’ve been coming here for years, from the original setup to the new remodel. The customer service could definitely be a bit more friendly and welcoming, but the food was served fresh. I did notice they’re giving fewer fries than before, though my burger was hot and the fries were nice and crispy. I also miss the ketchup pump instead of packets. The remodel looks great and gives the place a fresh feel.

First time eating here at least that I know of. I used to frequent the area as a kid so it's possible I had food from here before, but it would have been decades ago. The food was as expected, much like a few of the old fashioned burger places that used to be around but have slowly died off. I decided to order a combo so I could try a few items including the steak sandwich and then also got one of the basic griff burgers. The fries caught me off guard as they tasted a lot like McDonald's but had a buttery flavor. The burger was good, brought back memories of the southeast side restaurant Floyd's which is now gone. The steak sandwich was tasty as well, crispy and thick, and was almost enough as a combo to fill me up. I would definitely return to try some more items. Everything was good, and I definitely prefer this over Burger Boy.

Waited almost 30 minutes for my hamburger when there was nobody in line I could understand if my food was made perfectly but it wasn't my buns were all smashed the cheese was placed crooked all my vegetables were placed to one side of the burger, they didn't even make an effort to do it right my fries were cold and after I paid the lady I still waited when all the while my bag of food was literally infront of her. My burger and shake were good and a fair price. The service though was terrible. The workers were either angry or sad. Three orders were messed up while I was there. When I asked for ketchup I was told there’s no ketchup repeatedly even though I asked once. There was no apology and no explanation if they just don’t carry ketchup which is odd for a burger and fries place or if they ran out.

The food was alright nothing special, I expected it to taste better. The lettuce on my fish sandwich looked old and super soggy. The chili cheese fries were good. I also feel if they want to improve they need to pay their employees more.

Was really excited to try Griff’s during a recent visit to Deep South S.A. had been here once many years ago and liked the food. Was disappointed this time in the lack of cleanliness of the restaurant and somewhat poor customer service. A good manager could make this a great place, but there is no excuse for 6 unbussed tables at 11:30 am during the week while the counter staff appears oblivious. The burger and fries were good, but good not enough to overcome the other issues.

Typical fast food but at a competitive price. I'd say the burger is a step above Whataburger. The chocolate shake was alright but left an aftertaste in the mouth. The area the restaurant is located in is a bit sketchy.

Flavor: C Service: A- Tea: A Solo dining: A Griff’s is a 60+ year old regional chain of sorts with 11 locations in Texas and Louisiana. There’s only one San Antonio location and it often appears on top burger lists. It would go on the burger meals under $15 list and I do think it’s better than a typical fast food burger. But it’s still not anything noteworthy. I’d be pretty certain the patties are premade and while they’re not flavorless I’d put them in a lightly seasoned category. The cheese is melty and both the veggies and condiments are generous but not overdone. I was impressed by the quality of veggies… they didn’t look like they came from the farmer’s reject bin like I might expect in a less expensive burger. Overall the flavor comes in at a C. If you have some seasoning salt in your purse, it has potential. The fries are simple but good, the tea was surprisingly good, and the cup size is Sweetums child size (i.e. the size of a small child). The service was friendly and quick - even when somewhat busy. After many years of visiting this establishment, I'm afraid last night was our last visit there. We ordered 2 number 2's..fries were old cold and hard. We had them replaced, but even fresh, they tasted off. The patty on the burger tastes like it's been sitting in water waiting to be cooked. I thought maybe we came too late, but they were open for 2 more hours. There is no reason all these shortcuts are being taken this early in the evening. I've been in the industry my whole life, I understand breaking down and wanting to get out faster on a Friday night, but this is just unacceptable. A waste of 30 dollars. We left, still hungry. And woke up with upset stomachs.

dont get me wrong the burgers are so good, but they ALWAYS forget the bacon when i order my food to go. Without fail, ik its only $1 but cmon man, at least give me my bacon i ordered and paid an extra dollar for.

Very cold in there. I guess it's better than being to hot in the summer. The food got cold fast. Burger was fresh, but had an over cooked patty and sad lettuce. The french fries were not hot. The onion rings reminded me of Whataburger. At least those were fresh. I've got no need to return. Burger Boy is a lot better. Our cashier was nice.

First time in after remodel. Usually good burger, fast, and for the most part correct. BUT it only takes 1 bad experience to ruin it. First off the lady taking my order in drive thru kept cutting me off, and could not hear me(probably not her fault, maybe microphone) but every single one of my burgers came out wrong. Mind you I thought only 1 was messed up, so I drive back to the restaurant to fix 1 burger, and by the time I get home I check the other burgers and theyre messed up as well. Overall I don't know if its a new crew but they all seem to hate their job and it shows in their customer experience. Also they scored an 83 on their health inspection, I haven't seen one scored that low anywhere, but hey its still passing I guess

💀🍔 Griff’s Burger is a crime against burgers — and honestly, the grill should press charges 🔥👎 My burger came out looking like it survived a house fire — burnt, bitter, and dry as hell 😤🍽️ It crunched when I bit into it. A burger. CRUNCHED. 💥🫠 The fries tasted like they were cooked last week. The service was colder than the fries, and the whole vibe was "we gave up years ago" 😶🥶 If I wanted to be disappointed, I would’ve texted my ex. 😩📵 Griff’s, be serious. 🧾💔

To start off the customer service is non-existent. Drive up to the drive thru ordering menu and the first thing after a couple seconds of waiting was “can you give me a minute” ..never said anything but sure. Second after I got done ordering with “what else” after every meal, it took about 25 minutes to get up to the window to receive my food . Once I received my food I checked it and found out that the fries were cold and one of my drinks was incorrect. The 2, 4oz ranches I ordered were not included and they attempted to tell me it would be an extra charge for them when I asked for them after I had already paid for them and had a receipt to prove it. Here are some pictures for your reference. SERIOUSLY I have no idea where all the good reviews came from it must be a different location 😭😂 DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL.

I give one star because at least I was able to warm my burger in the microwave and salvage that and still have my drink. I wasn't sure if place was closed when I pulled up to drive thru but I was greeted and I asked and they said they could take my order. $33 later I was given cold burgers, crispy fries I just could NOT eat due to them being extra crispy. As someone who worked in fast food I'm sure they re-dipped it in oil. If they didn't have the quality of food and kitchen was shut down it would've been fine. I'm so disappointed. Literally the fries were crisp and hallowed from being over fried. Oh n my burgers only had mustard so I grabbed mayo from fridge to put on it since I asked for all the way to make it easier on the order.

This place is a joke. Ordered 3 cheeseburgers all plain with cheese only. 1 burger had everything on it. The other two had nothing but the meat. When I took it back to the cashier, the manager came up and told me I had to ask for cheese. I tried to explain to her that is exactly what I did, she becomes short with me and then charges me for the extra cheese to correct their mistake (picture attached). Wow! I couldn’t believe that, horrible management skills. After all was said and done, the burger had no flavor, the employees especially the manager have no service skills. I will NEVER return, even if they refunded me the money I spent and then refunded my money I was overcharged to fix a mistake that was on them!!!! Surprised this place has been around as long as it has. I doubt it will make it much longer with the way it is being run 👎🧟‍♂️🤢🤮. Im done. ☮️

I ate there on 4-30-25 at about 1:52p.m.I ordered #3 combo. The burger was cold NOT Hot or fresh. Meat was cold NOT even warm. The fries were COLD NOT even warm. I even asked for extra crispy, but were cold. Strawberry drink was flat, had no taste or flavor. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK HERE.

Use to love the burgers here now they are just over cooking food . Burned all my burger I don't recommend this place to eat 👎

Burgers served like they just threw it all in the wrapper, big nasty mess overloaded with mayo. Onion rings undercooked probably used not hot enought oil. You could tell the employess just didnt care. South side tradition gone. Sad your business you worked for all theses years can go down the tubes because employees like the ones working Sunday am on May 5 2019. No thank you or anything....

Always gets my order wrong and when you kindly ask to correct the order they get upset and rude also only has one size of fries (small) no matter the size of drink/meal you have.

Everything was disgusting. The order took more than 30 minutes and everything was cold. The tater tots and fries were old. The fish sandwich was burnt. (I should have known better than to order fish from a burger place) We should have taken it back. $20 for one combo and side of tater tots and fish sandwich. Never again.

I placed my order and the lady taking it made me feel uncomfortable and rushed. When I asked for a fork, she threw it on the counter instead of handing it to me. The customer service was terrible today. I didn’t even wanna ask for a refill that’s how Unpleasant my experience was I come here often and have never had any issues, but this experience with her really made me not want to return 11/26/25 2:00 pm
