Avis sur Margaritaville San Antonio
Decent food with good atmosphere and friendly staff. Centrally located on Riverwalk and easy to get to.
"Huge shoutout to Sandra for making our night so memorable! It’s rare to find a bartender who is as knowledgeable about the menu as they are fun to talk to. They have a fantastic energy that really sets the vibe for the whole bar. If you’re looking for great conversation and even better cocktails, this is the place to be. one thing to add is to call Lake Conroe Margaritaville to get their recipe for the spicy Margarita.
Fun atmosphere on the river! Food was delicious and the staff and management were very attentive and hands on. We were greeted and checked on throughout, which to me matters just as much as the food. Definitely made our visit to the riverwalk a great one!
The food here is great, our server Alley was awesome. At first I thought $32 for this small bowl of pasta but was definitely worth it. The Carnitas tacos that my wife got were awesome and the black beans and rice was super yum.
We stopped by Margaritaville San Antonio one evening while visiting the River Walk, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences of our trip. The atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for — laid-back, fun, and full of great energy, but not overwhelming. We went later in the evening and had no wait at all, which was a nice surprise considering how busy the area usually gets. The staff greeted us right away with smiles and seated us quickly. The whole place has that classic Margaritaville vibe — colorful décor, great music, and a relaxed, tropical feel that instantly puts you in vacation mode. The lighting and riverfront views at night added an extra touch of magic to the experience. You can hear the sound of the water flowing by while live music plays in the background — it’s the perfect combo for winding down after a long day of sightseeing. The food was excellent. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The portions were generous and definitely worth the price. We tried a couple of their signature entrées and appetizers, and everything hit the spot. The flavors were bold but balanced, and you could tell the kitchen puts care into the details. The drinks were equally great — classic Margaritaville cocktails that were mixed perfectly and served quickly. Whether you go for a margarita, a frozen drink, or something non-alcoholic, there’s something for everyone. Our server was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and clearly enjoyed their job. They checked in just the right amount, made great recommendations, and kept everything running smoothly without making us feel rushed. That’s something we really appreciated, especially since it was later in the evening and the staff could have easily been winding down for the night. The atmosphere was upbeat but still comfortable — lots of laughter, good music, and people just enjoying themselves. It’s a great place for couples, families, or groups of friends to relax and have fun. The River Walk location makes it even better — you can walk off dinner with a stroll along the water afterward, which is exactly what we did. Overall, Margaritaville San Antonio was a highlight of our evening. Great service, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and zero wait time — it doesn’t get much better than that. Whether you’re a local or visiting like we were, it’s definitely worth stopping by. The combination of atmosphere, flavor, and fun makes it a perfect spot to kick back and soak in those vacation vibes.
Stopped at Margaritaville San Antonio for a couple Cocktails. And as per usual, their margs never disappoint. I got the Jalapeño Business and my husband got the frozen rum runner. Both cold and delicious on a hot Texas afternoon. We got the key lime pie to share and it was good. Had better but it was definitely good for a sweet and sour sweet treat. Bar tender was quiet. Nice and professional but not much personable attention. We were the only customers at the bar too. So over all I’d give it 3.5/5 stars. Just because the cocktails were exactly what we were looking for.
Went there on a Friday at 6:30. Not too busy so no waiting to be seated. Server was nice and did a good job keeping track of us. Started with a Bahama Mama ($12 rum based) and The Perfect Margarita ($14.50, on the rocks). The Bahama Mama was good, the ‘perfected’ margarita was way over exaggerated. We just ordered to share the Trio appetizer. $22. Caribbean eggrolls, Buffalo dip, and chicken tenders, with chips and sauces. All was adequate. The tenders were probably the best, the Buffalo dip probably the least exciting. Over all the bill was $55. I didn’t appreciate the recommended tip options at the bottom of the portable register screen. Typically Margaritaville atmosphere, with the music a touch too loud.
The location next to the Riverwalk without door as well as indoor seating is a premium. This restaurant really serves the tourist crowd and the wait staff knows what it's doing. The cheeseburger in Paradise was a really good cheeseburger. The onion rings were also very good but an upcharge.
This was the best food we ate while here. We stayed at the Marriott Rivercenter on the Riverwalk and it's one of the restaurants round on the Riverwalk. The waits are long, but that's to be expected. We had a large party of 10, but our waitress was great. Really sweet and stayed on top of things. Volcano Nachos and Buffalo wings were great! Taco Salads were fine, the fried bowl was the best part of it. If you're going for flavor, you can't miss with the wings and Volcano Nachos. Best Margaritaville I've been to, hands down. They handle food allergies with care. Loved that! Pets are allowed at this location. We did not have pets, but several patrons brought their dogs in and the team was fine with that.
First time visiting, and Jane was great in helping us decide what to order. She was also courteous and timely with a smile as she attended to our needs. Great location to sit out and enjoy river walk ambience. Will come back for drinks, service and atmosphere.
Stopped in at Margaritaville on the River Walk and ordered the Cheeseburger in Paradise with bacon, along with a side of fried pickles and let me tell you, those pickles stole the show! Perfectly crispy, flavorful, and addictive easily the highlight of the meal. The burger was solid, with decent flavor and a classic build, but nothing too out of the ordinary. What really elevated the experience was the refreshing sweet tea and the unbeatable view of the River Walk a relaxing, scenic spot to enjoy a meal and take in the San Antonio vibe. The atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect: laid-back, fun, and full of beachy charm, with friendly service to match.
It’s hard not to enjoy an experience at Jimmy Buffet’s themed restaurant where you’re always on vacation. In Texas the portions are always big, so no surprise when a large platter was placed in front of each of us. I had bbq ribs & chicken, 3 fellow diners had burgers that were juicy and delicious from their accounts, and another had the largest individual sandwich I’ve ever seen. I do not recommend the sweet potato waffle fries which another guest agreed with me were thin and sponge like. I didn’t like my mango margarita —it was too sweet and I could not taste the alcohol that I was assured was in there. The watermelon margarita was really great. The lunch crowd was slow, so we had lots of attention from our very pleasant Server.
Let start by saying going to Margaritaville is an experience alone! But I Really think that the food could be a lot better for a place like this! I ordered the Cujun Pasta, and the grilled shrimp and scallops were really good but I couldn’t taste the Cajun flavor at all, it was just like an average pasta! The BBQ ribs were okay but the chicken was just plain chicken with no flavor at all just covered in BBQ sauce and the sauce was very basic! I recommend Margaritaville for the experience and the Drinks but not so much for the Food!
Had a bit of a mixed bag experience here. Party of 2 went there for lunch and was seated outside, along the riverwalk. There is a great view there at the least. We were not looking for alcohol at the time, so got water. The water tasted horrible (like the water that they use at the dentist's office to rinse your teeth off). That grossed me out a bit, and I ended up switching to coffee (that at least somewhat masked the flavor). The actual food we ordered was good, and the staff were kind enough to swap the proteins that were used in the cajun pasta on the menu. My +1 is vegetarian and had a harder time than me finding a good menu item. The service staff appeared to be understaffed. We told our service we were done, but went 15 minutes without receiving a check. I actually had to go inside and ask to pay, at which point I was informed that only my server could check me out. That was particularly frustrating. Overall, I'd happily eat there again, but only if I was in the mood for alcohol, and could tell the staffing was more present.
This was the first time here! The atmosphere outside was very peaceful & relaxing even while watching the squirrels eating French fries that people were giving them like they were sophisticated and was a pet & not the from the wild lol There kinda pricey so make sure you expect that. Hamburger & fries was ok. Sandwich & quesadilla was ok as well. The other person I was with didn’t want mayo on her sandwich & asked for honey mustard they charged her .50 she was a bit surprised by that. The waitress was nice.
So while in town, we were looking for a place to eat for lunch. Everyone suggested this place for lunch. First time I've ever been to a margaritaville restaurant. First thing you notice is the atmosphere of the restaurant, simply uncanny. Coming inside, we had to wait 30 mins for our table which is not bad. But there's no waiting room or area. Then when we were seated. It took our server quite some time to get with us. When we finally placed our order, it took a hour to get to our table and she gave me the wrong order. Which I should of took. Because I had to wait an additional 30 mins for my right order to get here, while everyone in our party was done with their plate. I wouldn't mind given this place another try, when we're back in town. But don't order the grill fish tacos. I should have taken the burger that she got wrong for me in the first place. Cause I wasn't too happy with my experience here.
It was a busy night so I understand the wait. We waited at the bar and the drinks were very good. Finally at our table 45 minutes later , my hubby order the seafood platter unfortunately they said the fried items on the plate were not available so he ordered a chicken sandwich. I ordered the shrimp boil, after another 40 minutes our food came out and the shrimp boil was dry. No sauce just powdered seasoning on it. I took a bite of a shrimp and it was like rubber and tasted really fishy. I live by the water so I know shrimp should not taste old or bad. We told them that we did not want the food. They just charged us for the appetizer, not even a manager came by to check on us. Very disappointed
The food was ok, not great considering the price. My biggest issues was one of the people in our party did not receive her food until nearly everybody was done eating. Then when she finally received food she only got fries even though she ordered chicken strips and fries. When we said something about it the management and waitress blamed us because they gave a 7 year old in our party an adult portion of chicken strips and not the child’s portion as was ordered. They were extremely slow on refilling drinks and overall just seemed not to care. I would not eat here again. Awesome name for a subpar restaurant.
I didn’t get a chance to eat here, so I can’t review the food. The service was disappointing. I was greeted politely and seated, but after sitting for some time, other guests came in, were seated, and were helped right away. No one ever came to my table to take an order, so I eventually left. I understand being busy, but the place was nearly empty. I won’t be returning.
This was the biggest disappointment ever. We were excited to celebrate my friends birthday and went here excited for great margaritas. When we first got there the host looked like she hated her job and was not pleasant at all. When we got sat 20min later ( the place wasn’t even busy) our server was not welcoming and barely checked up on us.We ordered margs which were terrible, we ordered the appetizer and coconut shrimp which was also terrible and then I asked if they did anything for birthdays and I got a harsh no as a response. Very much of a let down for my friends birthday and I hope she doesn’t get food poisoning from the shrimp as it tasted really strange.
How did this place get a 4.0? Everything is overpriced but that is expected on the Riverwalk. However, the salsa is basically jarred Pace brand, but Pace has a better flavor. The queso is tasteless. Truly, it is tasteless, and lumpy. Gross. The frozen strawberry margarita was way too sweet. The perfect margarita was the most imperfect one my sister has ever experienced. It had little or no tequila, the only flavoring was the salt on the rim and in her opinion very small for the price. The atmoshere was okay since it is on the Riverwalk. The service was okay although I wonder why the server did not ask if we wanted to take the almost full bowls of salsa and queso. I think she knew they were horrible. We were going to order dinner here but decided to move on and ended up eating the pulled pork (Ol' Henry) tacos at the Menger bar which were excellent and reasonably priced.
