Avis sur Taqueria Datapoint San Antonio
This is the spot for Mexican food if you’re in San Antonio. From their salsa to their al pastor and carnitas, you will not be disappointed. My biggest struggle is deciding whether I want the carnitas plate or the al pastor. Their beans and rice are not great but it’s not the reason I go.
Originally, taqueria Datapoint used to be located in a building at the plaza on Fairhaven/Medical. Now it’s a mobile truck that switches locations from gardendale to fairhaven. Today it happened to be in the Fairhaven parking lot. Such delicious and authentic Mexican food. This parking lot is crackin’ even right now at midnight 🌮
And I work across the street at the Shell gas station I come here twice a week not just for me but my co-workers placing orders I usually get the carnitas taco on flour with the side of onions tomatoes cilantro and limes and it's been delicious every time I've had it, I tried it the chorizo and egg I wasn't impressed.... so I went back to my favorite one, Mama Margie's but now it's been thrown off that pedestal by chacho's ,chorizo and egg taco.
I haven’t even left the parking lot after eating. I needed to make my review. I am from McAllen Texas. That alone makes me extremely spectacle when somebody says “the best tacos in …“. I have passed by this location a few times and always see it packed. Like my dad says, “if there’s cars why not join them”. To start my review. I have to say the mini tacos are delicious. The tortillas are not greasy like other locations. I got the Al Pastore meat. Great seasoning. Not salty. Love that the plate comes with both grilled and raw onions, fresh cilantro, a ripe delicious slice of avocado, you don’t see everywhere, and a lime wedge. Amazing! I splurged a little bit and got myself a gordita that had carne asada, charro beans, and cheese. . Lemonade, taste like it was just made. The salsa is fresh, tangy, and just the right of spicy.
I really didn't like the prices it's really expensive but I loved the atmosphere and I loved the food it was very delicious and the people were very friendly. But it's extremely pricey. But I must say it is absolutely so so good!!!! 💯% we only had a taco each we eat like birds anyway we're not very big people and the tacos that we had where's sufficient and fill us up so we were satisfied. The tacos were five bucks I've never paid that much for a taco but it was so delicious!
Really solid Mexican food. We ordered some tacos, a carne asada plate, a huevos plate, and a quesadillas plate. Was really impressed with the carne asada and the overall quality of the food. I was tempted to give four stars due to our flour tortillas being too dry, but the rest of the food was so good that it made up for it. Update 12/7/18: I’ve been here several times now and haven’t been disappointed. One of my favorite spots for Mexican food.
Very nice place to have a late night out, the place gives you the first good impression when you walk in, very clean nice staff and the food some of the best tacos in San Antonio if you looking for some Mexican type street tacos this is your place they also have like some tex-mex food in the menu I just personally don't like tex-mex food, I had an order of a la yaka taquitos which each one is a mix of meats I believe fajita, pastor and tripita and they were really good also tried a gordita and the same very good and their prices are very good also you can have dinner for around 9-12 bucks you can't beat that now a days and plenty of food, if you around San Antonio stop by this place is worth it!!! Btw We are from Houston.
Okay, so this place was soooooooooooooo unexpectedly good! First of all, if you didn't know what you were looking for you would miss it OR you would think that it's not a good place. It's located in this small little shopping strip and it looks a little shady. However, this was THEE BEST BREAKFAST place we went to while in San Antonio. They gave you soooo much food for such an inexpensive price. You could order breakfast at all times of the day and all the plates were full of food. They make sure you never leave still hungry. All meals were between $6 - $10. I ordered an orange juice and it came in a Very large glass for only $3! As large as that cup was, you have gotten 2-3 refills at any other breakfast place and they would have charged for each refill. I went with a group of 6 and we were able to get separate checks and no additional charge for our group. ALL of us left with leftovers and VERY Full bellies. Check out the pics! I will definitely come back to this place next time I'm in town. Taqueria Datapoint, YOU'VE JUST BEEN BEE STAMPED APPROVED! #BeeStampedApproved 🐝 #SanAntonioEats #MexicanEats
They are the best!! I really didn’t think I was gonna get my accommodation on my mobile order and I absolutely did. I know that’s low standards, but they really are the best otherwise and this made my day.
Absolutely best service in this area 🙏 smiles as soon as you walk in the door. Fast seating. Delicious tea sweet or unsweetened tastes great either or. The fresh tea you brew at home. The food! Fantastico 💓 especial the new dishes served all day. The mojadas flautas oh my goodness. The cruch and freshly cooked shredded chicken. Yum... This is definitely the place you want to come enjoy a nice breakfast to start your day. Lunch and dinner come in to dine and have the most delicious Mexican Food in the Medical center. They definitely know what they are doing in that kitchen. Of course you can not have a great establishment without great management. Who walks around frequently to make sure you're dishes are made to perfection. I love coming here with my hubby it even with our babies to enjoy a family dinner.
The new dine in location is open! This place is excellent. They did a fantastic job on the decor and it’s a really nice place. There is a ton of seating and plenty of ability to seat larger parties. The tacos are excellent, as usual for this taqueria. The server was super nice and friendly, food came out fast and this was the perfect dining experience. I had the Watermelon water, which I’m pretty sure is actual watermelon juice and it was out of this world. I also had Tripas tacos, Barbacoa and Carnitas, all of which are insanely good. They served chips and salsa out first. 4 tacos, a drink and chips and salsa all for $25. This makes the per taco average cost a little on the high side but it’s well worth it. Can’t wait to have the mini tacos next trip! Great job on the new location. This is just what we needed in the Medical Center.
It’s the home of the 4 leches, it would seem! It’s a great looking location with custom furniture, free chips and 4 different salsas on the table. We had the pozole (available on the weekends), and the riquisimo omelette with corn and flour tortillas. The tortillas were soft and tasty. Both dishes tasted good and the portions were as big as Texas. Loads of meat in the pozole, enough to fill every spoon it felt like. The omelette was packed with ham and what I seemed to be pico de gallo. My favorite thing about the restaurant: The service.
My family and I eat here everytime we pass through San Antonio. Been enjoying the chorizo & egg tacos since the trailer was parked outside my apartment on Data Point in 2005.
I went to Taqueria Datapoint off of the suggestion of Google and I’m glad I did! The whole plaza they are in is being redone but they have their taco truck in the parking lot so you don’t miss out on their delicious tacos. The Pastor meat and the Asada was so well seasoned and cooked that I will definitely be going back for more. The green salsa was also immaculate and has me wishing I asked for 2 green instead of receiving one of each. This place is definitely a go to for tacos and is the best place I’ve found so far in San Antonio for authentic tacos. I forgot to mention that their corn tortillas are handmade! And if they’re not then they definitely taste like it. 10/10 would recommend.
Came here while on a short trip, food was great and everyone made me feel important, restaurant was clean and the food was not a long wait at all! Definitely coming back when I’m in town again!
All I can say about this place is WOW!!! Food is amazing , anytime I’m in San Antonio I will drive all the way here to just to eat here. It’s a family owned restaurant and everyone of the employees are constantly checking on you making sure you’re good. The food is great just great.
I highly recommend the Huevos Rancheros and the Menudo. Their service is very good, they make it a point to attend to your needs. This location is the best of them all.
This Taqueria has been my number one favorite places in San Antonio for Mexican food. Service is great and the food is always good! My husband loves the mini tacos chicken and I make sure I try something new every time I'm there. So far I have tried the burritos, chicken fajita, tostadas, mini tacos including the 1/2 lb carnitas dinner plate (today). I loved them all. They are open late so sometimes it's also my late night taco fix!
Came here for brunch, this place was awesome! Very good Mexican food, big portions and good prices. They have a special on breakfast tacos until 10:30am. All of the breakfast plates have the option to add barbacoa for $3 which was very good and i got a lot more than i would have expected! Will return next time I’m in this part of SA.
I love this location, waitress was really attentive and friendly. The restaurant is quite large and have great lunch specials. Huge portions! Be aware that if you pay with a credit card, they will charge you extra without telling you. So in other words consider menu prices NOT what you will be paying for your meal, unless you pay cash.
This place was amazing. The food was mouthwateringly delicious, the service was second to none, and even the restrooms were super clean and fancy. The tea wasn't too sweet or watered down. I ordered the chilli fries and was blown away by the flavors. Even the mini tacos were perfect, including a slice of avocado, it had all the fixings to make it perfect. The shredded chicken and al pastor were cooked with love. Definitely the new go to spot. They are open super late, which evidently, is when my hunger sets in.
Visiting the area and chose to eat here with family. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was fast, restaurant was clean and spacious. I recommend their mini tacos ( 5 for $12.99), their guacamole, and horchata beverage. Their chips and salsa is delicious, especially the spicy salsa. This is very authentic Mexican tacos and I recommend this place.
If you're on the hunt for a taqueria that serves up mouthwatering flavors and excellent lunch specials, look no further than Taqueria Datapoint. This spot nails the perfect balance between authentic, delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. The staff are a true highlight. They’re friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure you have a great dining experience. They’re happy to recommend menu items or accommodate special requests.
No wonder why this place gets great reviews for their comida y mas 🫶🏆 From the Chiquitas serving you food to the quality plus portions of comida for the prices that they are giving you,it's a Muy Bueno Dealio Amigos y Amigas....🤠🍽 I'm sorry, no photos bcuz I didn't have any juice/jugo on my cellphone 📱 Freshly made chips con salsa that's warmed up too....🌶🫑🥣 Plenty of seating & parking too. Comfortable and accomodating. Service with many smile's from the staff members here & tasty delicious comida/food 🥑🌮🌯🫔 Tastes like Tia's or Ama's Comida being cooked here....Love this place🤩🫶
Their food tastes so delicious. It's flavor brings me back to the time when used to live in Mexico. The price is decent and the portions big. I love that we always get free chips and salsa. Sometimes is really crowded but it's worth the wait. I come here more often than my wallet can afford but I simply love their food.
Highly recommend this place! Absolutely the best Carne Asada Nachos ever! They use real cheese too! I hate nachos with watery queso that water down the chips. The portion was so big I will be eating on these for a couple of days. And as you can see, I already dug into them before I took a picture. My daughter had the mini tacos and they looked absolutely amazing and she loved them.
First time here the staff were very welcoming. The place is clean and nice. The music was on point. Ordered the parrillada. The fajitas were good, the shrimp was a lil overcooked, the sausage was not very good. The homemade corn tortillas were so good. My friend had the torta he said was good. First time here it was good, not great. But do check it out worth it. Chips n salsa were very good. He had a horchata he said was very sweet. I had the lemonade was ok
I had the mini taquitos and pepino agua fresca at Taqueria Datapoint and both items were AMAZING! The restaurant was exceptionally clean and the staff members were very friendly. This will be a place I will stop at every time I visit San Antonio now!
Love this place been coming here for about 2 years now and to me is the only Mexican restaurant place I like. The waiters and waitress are very nice and respectful. I usually order the mini tacos Al pastor tacos with the lime and they are always good. But this time around an order a burrito with Carne Asada and it was amazing. It was a big sized burrito. Had a side of beans and a salad and my go to drink which never fails is the horchata.
This is my first time coming back to this restaurant after its remodel. It's a while new restaurant and it's so nice and spacious and at least double in size. The food is still as delicious as ever. They serve 2 different salsas and one of them has a real kick and it is addicting...I could not put it down. .I love their hours too...can't beat having a good laye night option for dinner. Service is also really excellent and helpful!
Come here all the time, they’re the real deal. Amazing flavor, huge portions, homemade horchata. Probably my favorite tacos in San Antonio and that’s saying something lol. Highly, highly recommended 🤙
The food was delicious! The concierge at our hotel recommended it and it did not disappoint. The chips and 4 different salsas to start. Then we ordered guacamole and it came with fresh chicarons. I ordered beef nachos suprema and the beef was out of this world! Like a chopped up steak with excellent flavor. It was a huge portion and had beans, cheese, sour cream, avocado, jalapeños. My hubby got carnitas (also a huge portion) with rice and beans and tortillas. He said it was excellent as well. And the bonus--Mexican Coke cold in a bottle! Would definitely eat here again!
Simple, delicious food. I had the chilaquiles which was good tho could use a little seasoning overall. Husband had the pork chop (chuleta de puerco) which was cooked perfectly - simply seasoned but very good indeed with eggs and potatoes. The winner was the barbacoa street tacos though - again, no frills but well prepared. The charro beans everyone raved about was the only let down - we’ve had so much better and the prevalent sausage (instead of bacon) flavor is just not something we are personally used to. The refried beans tho were heavenly. And finally the 4 salsas with the complimentary chips were fun - the warm Rojas was the clear winner. Service was fantastic with friendly and attentive but not hovering waitstaff.
We went to Taqueria Datapoint on a quiet Tuesday, a couple of days after Easter this year. It had been talked up with the kind of reverence normally reserved for sacred institutions. Proper Mexican food. None of that watered-down Tex-Mex nonsense. Just real, no-compromise flavours from a kitchen that supposedly knows what it’s doing. I was looking forward to it. Genuinely. We walked in and were greeted kindly. It was no-frills but warm and inviting. The menu read like a hymn sheet to breakfast and comfort. Everything was priced so low it felt like we’d stepped into the past. So we ordered a bit of everything, enough to sample the best of what they had to offer. Then it happened. I bit into a breakfast taco and immediately felt something catch in my throat. Not just a tickle. A sharp slice of tortilla lodged itself in the wrong place and I started choking. Not the dramatic kind you see on television. The real kind. Silent, frightening, helpless. My partner froze. The dining room disappeared around me. The waitress noticed and came over straight away. She didn’t panic. She was calm, focused, deeply concerned. I couldn’t speak, and between gestures and instinct we knew we had to leave for the hospital. I stood up, still struggling, ready to pay and go. But she wouldn’t let us pay. “Please, just take care of yourself,” she said. That was it. No fuss. No scene. It was an unsettling moment and I wish it had gone another way. Because the small bites I did manage were absolutely delightful. The flavours were rich, proper. I could taste the care (literally). And I knew, in a different moment, that this would have been one of the best meals of the trip. But what I remember most is how the staff treated me. No questions, no hesitation. Just quiet generosity. You don’t get that everywhere. In fact, you rarely do. It takes a certain kind of person to hold grace under pressure, to show kindness without expecting applause. I can’t recommend the place enough. Go visit, you won’t be disappointed.
Ok kids plates are $8 bucks n plate is big fit for a big kid honestly amazing..win win on that...the Hamburger is huge i honestly couldn't finish it all fries are really good..my sister got a melanesa plat3 and it comes with 4 melanesa amazing....are server is a young man with AMAZING servic....come and try them out
Establishments that have staying power are those with consistent personnel who are courteous, very hardworking, and friendly and that's case here. It's easy to spot a manager here because they are constantly moving, checking on customer satisfaction, clearing tables, and assisting the waitresses with orders. I've had wonderful meals here every time I've come - early in the morning to late at night. The Carnitas and half-pound barbacoa (a feast and affordable) are my go tos. The menudo is one of the best in town.
When this building burned down, my taco heart was saddened. This place returned with honor. The servings are huge and the authentic Mexican flavor is legit. Everything is good here and this isn’t a Tex-mex spot, this is the real stuff you would get at a border town like El Paso. Clean and well maintained dining. Kind wait staff. Must try.
This review is based upon their street tacos. Their Pastor street tacos are the best in San Antonio. Perfect combination of lime, cilantro, onions and marinated pork. The corn tortillas are perfect too. Prices are reasonable and service is fast. Don’t come here expecting to have a fine dining experience - it’s a hole-in-the-wall place with excellent food.
Posting late. This was our go to spot prior to pandemic. We loved the late night hangout and the amazing eats. Miss this place.

I’ve been here a few times. The breakfast platters are a good value, but the breakfast tacos seem to be on the pricy side. I’ve also had their beef enchiladas for lunch a couple of times, and they were solid. They’re open very late, it’s very roomy, and good for groups. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s a clean place and the service is decent. If I had only one word to describe this place, it would be “consistent”. Check them out – they have a decent menu with a good variety of options. (And they serve beer and wine – no hard liquor though) ,
#3 Asada and Rajas con Queso is pictured in the foreground, the #8 Jalisco Burrito with asada is behind it. The staff were vigilant in making sure we had everything we needed, the food came out fast and the drinks were never close to empty. The roasted salsa served with chips was a step over mild but my wife thought it was too spicy. The food was delicious, but the plates came with very little avocado so we had to ask for more. They offer desserts that are made off site; the tres leches cake was perfectly moist. Two people can easily eat for $15 or less.
The service was good and they were very attentive. The food was good. My favorite part of the combination plate was the chicken taco. The only reason I gave it four stars was because they would charge extra for little things. Example: $0.85 for extra limes (which in my opinion, is a little much).
Its a 4.5 star for me. Parking lot is the first con as it's packed and tight. This place was recommended to me by another foodie so I had to try it out. When first entering you see it is actually bigger than you would think. Ordering was actually fairly quick once sat. I chose the Birria tacos 🌮. There were 3 quesobirrias with onion and cilantro with consumé. Excellent taste. I also ordered the iced tea 1/2&1/2. The price is kind of overall expensive for a lunch but it was good. It did take a while to get service to close out the tab and get togo. It wasn't very busy but they were not very attentive after the food delivery, so be aware if you have a short break.
Ordered from the lunch specials, which were several to choose from. We were very impressed at how well served and TASTY all of our food was, AND the tortillas were fresh. Their salsas (4) were also delicious. They accidentally forgot to charge the plate at the lunch special price and couldn't change it, though. We'll be back for the food, for sure
Last time I went, there was a barking dog inside the restaurant which is extremely unusual… for an indoor restaurant. Food is always great, I had the mini tacos and were filled with flavor. Kind of wish they added a bit more avocado instead of a 1/4 slice. Servers are always nice and food is always served quick and delicious!
First off, our server, Victor, was really nice and respectful. What struck me first was how big the inside was. So many places to sit. I was happy about that. We sat at the booth so it was plenty of natural light. The food was really good, but they did mess up a couple order notes. The service was good though so it made up for it. Pretty good and the food is very fresh.
Food was so dang amazing prices were also decent staff was fast and friendly Update: the prices here have gone up significantly. For a plate of 6 mini tacos alone no drink nothing else I paid a little more than $18... Including tax but also a tip. On top of that outrageous price I can't afford to eat here anymore. The renovations they recently made to the restaurant look great and it brings the place together so much but with the price gouging it's hard for me to respect the establishment in the business they offering due to the high rised prices. And their tres leches cake is not the best. And they are open pretty late in the night I'm pretty sure it's not 24/7 but just about closing around 3 or 4:00 in the morning

We ordered thru Door Dash. Ordered the carnitas plate, carnitas mini taquitos and a side of frijoles charro. The meat was well flavored and tender. Beans were great. Good portions for the price.

This is okay for TexMex. Nothing amazing, not authentic Mexican which is hard to find. On the positive side, very nice on the inside and clean.

All was okay except they charge a service fee for using credit or debit cards and then list the gratuity as service charge which is confusing. So we left a double gratuity
The food here is awesome, but the staff needs to learn how to deal with people pointing guns at you The cashier girl insulted the man who was getting angry. You don't insult people pointing weapons at you or who seem crazy. Just accept the money, or give them the food for free then call the cops The staff was confused why some customers "overreacted" as if their own coworker didn't just have a gun pulled out on her and as if a guy didn't just shoot a gun. These people have the self awareness of a deer. BUT Besides the fact that we could have been massacred here (cops showed up) the food was good but not worth our lives. Will probably doordash in the future. The girl who told the guy to leave is awesome
Long wait for food. Gets really packed. Staff is friendly. Expect for old lady who cleans the tables; not friendly at all! Seems to be very popular place. Some organization can help this place. Two gorditas for $7.99.. Kinda pricey not much under $5.00 Refired beans taste like they are from a can.
The food looks amazing but taste is just ok. The service is impeccable. The carne Guisada is lacking flavor. The fajitas are not what im accustomed to. I like nice sliced stripes. These are chopped up beef cuts. The tripa taco was amazing though. These were 3 different tacos. Id return to try something else off the menu though.

The food is allways amazing, yall need trainning in to-go orders however, last 3 times I ordered including tonight, you have missed to send important items, gucamole, the large drinks salsa etc. please, Ive been eating here since I was 17, dont make me change venues to mama margies. thank you!
They added gratuity to our charges but didn't show in the ticket when checking out with a larger party. I know it's common to add for larger groups BUT be honest in the total charges.
The waiter was fantastic! Trying to figure out the order for my grandkids. All I wanted was carne molida or beef with rice. They couldn't accommodate that! I had to buy a big plate combo and the meat had corn and wasn't tasty. The beans just not tasty either. NOT REAL MEXICAN! The pancake seemed old already sitting there for sometime. The agua frescas were ok. Salsas we're amazingly good.
Im upset with the lack of customer service from the lady on the phone. I have ordered delivery mini tacos from here for the past year. Every time I order my mini tacos it comes with charro beans. Well, I called and asked if I could pick up my beans after I get off of work because they forgot them. The lady lied and said they only serve charro beans if you dine in . Basically I paid $26 for 5 corn tortillas with meat? Seems a little outrageous. I asked to speak to the manager and she said it's the owners decision and that they aren't there. I can't escalate my complaint to someone who will own up to a simple mistake and replace my beans? I was willing to drive the 15 mins after my shift to get my beans and this lady had 0 sense for customer service. I will not be returning to this over prized establishment that over charges for delivery and does not deliver the same as a "dine-in" experience.

I had r been here since before it burned down. Looks way different it has a fancy gas station vibe, like you should be buying candles, beef jerky and pecans. It has like a travel gas station chic look. Odd. Wanted huevos rancheros today and took my wife for breakfast there for nostalgia…. Eggs were cold, potatoes were cold and old , the beans weren’t even warm…bummed…for over 10$ the plate should have been wayyyy nicer or atleast warm, the corn tortillas aren’t even homemade and rated like raw egg roll wrappers… no one was there , that should have been a sign. Never again. Just do yourself a favor and go to the one one Fredericksburg way more soul and way better service and way better flavor….the one on Datapoint is a true disappointment
I found string in my burrito. I washed it and confirmed it was string. I reported the safety issue to door dash. So disgusting when people don’t take pride in their cooking. I’m traumatized and will never order from a restaurant again
Honestly the food is good but the place is dirty, my cups had black stuff inside my coffee had a lot of fuss and I found dry ice in my orange juice I’m kinda disappointed. But the service was great our server always checked in on us so I guess that’s good
I love datapoint’s taquitos. However, I went with 10 friends yesterday, and the two people who ordered the breakfast plate (eggs, refried beans, tortillas) now have food poisoning this morning. We all ate at the same places yesterday evening, but they were the only ones who ordered the breakfast plate, so it’s undoubtedly from taqueria datapoint. Please throw out all the possibly contaminated food! And I will have to think twice before I go again :( Edit: To taqueria datapoint management - the food poisoning did not become apparent until late that night after dinner, so we didn’t have a chance to talk to you. But you could not have prevented the food poisoning after we ate the food; at that point, it was too late. What can you do to fix this now?
