our favourite coffee in san cristóbal (they also have oat milk) and the staff is super sweet. muchas gracias. :)
Amazing coffee place. They offer several different varieties of coffee beans and they have very nice garden with outdoor seating
They really know what they’re doing when it comes to coffee, and take great care in how they explain and prepare it (such as serving at the right temperature). Plus the food options were tasty - came back again for breakfast during our stay, and bought beans to take home as well. Highly recommend!
Got a hot cocoa 48%. The most memorable and arguably the best damn cocoa I’ve ever had - it slaps the tongue with perfect chocolatey flavour that you won’t want to end. The ambience is cute, feels local and truly celebrates coffee and chocolate in the best way possible! Highly recommended!
Amazing coffee, and professional staff. I am a certified SCA coffee taster and I loved this place! I want to come everyday for good quality coffee. You can always chat with baristas and talk about coffee.
I had an amazing experience at this café. The coffee was excellent, and they took the time to explain everything the company does. They’re doing outstanding work and are incredibly professional. A must-visit for anyone in San Cristobal!
I only came to the cafe here as many said it was the best coffee in town. I really enjoyed it and also had the French toast and thought it was excellent. I came back another time but despite it being a normal morning was told they weren’t serving food (so not sure what the restrictions are with that).
I didn’t feel very welcome coming to this cafe, the staff came off quite cold towards me when I entered and greeted them. I note that another review notes the same (yes, I am a tourist yet speak Spanish). However, they have a beautiful courtyard and incredibly rich and delicious coffee that is on the more expensive end here in San Cris - 55 pesos for a double espresso, worth it though.
GREAT coffee, wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Their pastries are some of the best I've ever tried. Unfortunately, the service was slow, and the pastries came only after I finished my entire cup of coffee. Despite the slow service, the food and coffee are amazing and 100% worth coming back here.
I visited the café and left rather disappointed. They serve excellent coffee and I also enjoyed the nice interior but I didn’t feel welcome. It seemed the staff was more interested in doing their own coffee tasting than in attending a customer. I have visited other specialty coffee places in Mexico where the baristas were really welcoming and happy to share their knowledge. Here, the only thing missing was a comment like „ah, so you don’t really know much about coffee - *sigh*“. In other places, baristas gave preparing my coffee their full attention. Here, there was something more interesting in the back to do and the barista left for a bit. The coffee turned out perfect anyway, but it is about the attitude and that feeling as a customer that preparing your coffee is the most important thing right now. They served the coffee and also explained it well, but that was it from that point on. No further inquiry whether I enjoyed the coffee, also not when I paid. It seemed they were just not interested at all.
After reading the previous ratings we expected more. We got what we ordered, but nothing as a "wow". Expect that the staff speaks only basic English.
Your experience will range from terrible to decent depending on your luck with the staff working at the time. They do not always seem to welcome tourists (or people they perceive to be tourists). What I have noticed is that some of the waiters tend to pursue petty power struggles over small and often amusingly bizarre things. I think it could be a wonderful place with more attention to the training of the staff. Regardless the coffee is good. From what I know it is sourced with care. Still, a coffee shop is about so much more than just the drinks.
I ordered americano, they gave me a regular cofee... i asked why no expresso? Ah, expresso americano? - was the answer. I would give them the benefit of the doubt, but i noticed a previous review, from 6 months ago, with the exact issue... so, they know exactly what they are doing. Plus, even with the expresso shot, the coffee was bad, really bad, the cup lid wouldn't close, and the price... almost $4 CAD, for a very small coffee, that i couldn't finish because of the bad taste...
Ordered the triple coffee tasting . All pretty much the same and only half a cup. There was more left from the filter process so I asked if could have the rest. Was a flat no. Not even sorry. I then watched the waitress pour all the coffee down the sink. Not a great experience and need training in service
Very good coffee, terrible service, front of house stafff is very unpleasant and unprofessional
Ordered an Americano and they tried to sell me a premade filtered coffee. I refused, telling them an Americano is made with the espresso machine sitting right in front of me. The drink I got to replace the first was the weakest espresso drink I have had and the grounds were obviously mixed with cacao to try and give it some flavor. I am a former coffee shop owner and coffee roaster. Would never go back here.
I had a horrible experience in this Café. And it's not only that I didn't like the coffee (the taste was super acid so couldn't enjoy it at all) but the worst part is that they charged more to my credit card than the coffee cost. First I didn't want to write anything but I know that it was on purpose, therefore I think it's an important information. The background: I was already sitting for about 30 minutes inside the cafe when they decidedly to open the door. It was super cold in the morning and I was the only guest. I asked them if its possible to close the door as there is a cold wind coming in. They refused and smiled. You could see how much they enjoyed to show "the tourist" that he does not get "anything he want". So I said that I then probably need to go and they again almost laughed and said "ok". So I asked for the bill. The waitress said 55 Pesos (was is the price for the coffee) and took my card. I took the receipt and went out. In the evening I somehow checked the receipt and saw that they charged almost 20 % more. They basically gave themselves a nice tip without asking me. Because of course they knew that I wouldn't tip them after the incident. And I heard them asking other clients if they want to give a tip. So it's not the case that 20 % tip is already included. This is basically like taking money out of my pocket, in this case it was my credit card. That's a really bad feeling.
