Our server was great. Appetizers were just ok. We had huge margaritas again but I think they're made to take advantage of tourists. Way overpriced and not much alcohol. I'd prefer a smaller quality cocktail. The food is just good enough so you can drink more.
What a great spot and great food. The customer service was good just a little slow but we will definitely be back when visiting San Diego. The prices were great and you can't beat the view right on the beach. It was packed for lunch but we still found a place to sit.
I Definitely Came In To Watch A College 🏈Bowl Game. I Had The Ceviche And A Couple Beers To Wash It Down. Oh Yeah The Ceviche Is Spicy Just How I Like It. I Definitely Liked The Awesome Bartender Who Knows How To Treat All His Guess. Yup Definitely A Nice Place To Eat, Drink & Enjoy Any Sports Game. I Tollaly Recommend This Place 💯.
The view is incredible and the "big" drinks are excellent to share (or drink on your own 😉!) We travel with our dogs and they are always welcome and the staff is very kind and receptive to them. Our dogs are bigger and the staff will make sure we are seated somewhere they can be comfortable. Everytime we come to San Diego , we make a stop here and we don't regret it!
Loved the atmosphere here! The ocean view alone makes this place worth visiting, but the food and drinks make it even better. The fish tacos were fresh, the portions were generous, and everything came out quickly even though it was busy. Staff was friendly and the whole place has this fun, beachy vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Perfect spot for a relaxed meal, good margaritas, and people-watching by the ocean. Definitely coming back.
Breakfast post pre-breakfast donuts…looking for a place to meet up in the Pacific Beach/La Jolla area before the conference started and Duane found this gem of a place, right on the beach, maybe the best playlist I’ve heard in a restaurant, some of the best chilaquiles I’ve ever had (the server said it’s the salsa they make from scratch daily…great views, great food, great service, productive meeting! Highly recommend!
This is a great place to sit and people watch and admire the water of the Ocean. The service was a cut above good. It seems that all the attendants help each other. I went about 3 pm on a Tuesday and had a perfect table. The loaded queso was delicious. The drinks were generous. But what will bring me back is the service.
The steak street tacos have great flavor, the prices are good, and it's right on the beach. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. It's a good spot to people watch if you're into that.
Baja Beach Cafe is so chill, the view was unbeatable. The atmosphere is peaceful, they play all genres of music from 80’s to early 2,000’s+ I enjoyed the vodka bbq wings 😍 they were absolutely delicious! The service was also wonderful and food came out in a decent amount of time. I recommend this spot to anyone who wants to look out to the ocean while enjoying awesome food 👏🏽
First time visiting. It was not that busy, usually it is pretty crowded. We were able to get seated immediately. The hostess was very nice and polite. Got a seat facing the ocean. The waitress came pretty quick and took our order. We ordered 12 oz margaritas ( melon and watermelon), and Carne Asada fries. The drinks came pretty quick, food came just a little after. The service was great, our waitress made sure we are taken care of, was checking on us :) The food was good so was the drinks. They also had options of 32 oz margaritas, but 12 oz was plenty. Maybe next time we will try a 32 oz to share :) If not too busy we will definitely be back. Thank you :)
Ordered a Coco-Loco Margarita, Grande Quesadilla (plus Steak), Calamari Steak, and a Cantina Burrito. My partner enjoyed the margarita for its coconut elements. The portions of the Quesadill and the Burrito were very large and good for the price. The Calamari Steak might be recommended only if you prefer your calamari in steak form, I do prefer fried calamari rings. The Quesadilla was heavy with cheese and a good blend of steak within. Combined with the guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo, this made a great choice and I'm happy I went with the Quesadilla. Location is great, an ocean view if you choose to sit outside which is recommended and they do have heat lamps if the weather is cold. Medium traffic throughout the experience, it's a nice setting to have a meal by the beach.
I really enjoyed my breakfast. Hands down one of the best salsas that I didn't make. Delicious fruit medley pairing with crispy hash browns and a prime rib omelet. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food, except for the chicken sausage, but that was personal preference. Loved the opportunity to eat outside and watch the ocean and the passers-bys.

Great location and fun outdoor area. Great place to watch a gorgeous sunset and people watch. Get the tacos, they are great!

This place is basically a nacho shrine disguised as a beach bar. The nachos? Absolutely the main character—cheesy, crunchy, loaded, and totally worth coming back for. Service is friendly and quick enough to keep your margarita flowing without breaking a sweat. Add in those unbeatable beachfront vibes and a location that practically demands you kick your shoes off, and you’ve got yourself a solid spot to chill. I’ll be back—for the nachos, obviously.
The location is why you come here. The food was alright. Nothing special about it, not gonna lie. Carne asada fries would be better over chips, so order nachos. Their fries aren’t crisp enough to have cheese poured on them. Fish tacos were alright. But the location is great. Patio was awesome to sit on. We enjoyed it overall.
I wasn’t sure how the food would be here, but it ended up being really good! I wouldn’t say it’s the best quality, but it was very good still especially since the margaritas we had did the trick! It is a perfect place to go grab food if you want to be on the beach but aren’t willing to put on your bikini(that’s exactly how we were feeling). It was great though, good drinks, pretty strong, and we had plenty of food options to choose from. We also were fortunate to get one of the best tables over by the beach walk way.

Great place to sit outside by the beach. They have two for one margaritas during their happy hour. You can get a bread bowl of clam chowder or chili for under nine dollars. Perfect place to watch the Sun go down. The food was really good. Went back a week later to try some more items and see another sunset.
After a long walk on the beach some food sounded pretty good. Was able to score the last patio table during the last 40 minutes before sunset. It was busy...and I waited at least 10 minutes before service started; but once it did, everything moved really fast! Ordered a beer and the BBQ chicken sandwich. Had the worst experience here! Ordered veggie tacos and re-confirmed while ordering but it came with bacon in it. The server didn’t seem to be are much but did call her manager when we reinforced that this is not ok. The manager was apologetic but said the kitchen has been busy. He did knock it off our bill, so that’s a nice gesture. The mega margaritas were watered down and not so great, we ordered the jalapeno ones and they ran out of glasses so gave us in takeaway cups - go figure! Overall missable experience, I won’t be coming back.
We were tourists walking around and saw this place was busy and figured give it a go. We ordered a Margherita each and the nachos. The Margherita was okay, and the nachos were okay as well, until we found a zip tie in our guacamole. We told the waitress and she didn't seem all that concerned, just asked if we wanted a new plate or to have it taken off the bill. No surprise or apology at all. Makes me wonder if this has happened before.. definitely a beach vibe though!

Update: 4.25.2024... my kid went back on 4.23.2024 late at night to get a drink after taking a solo, long walk on the beach. As we packed up to leave the next day, 4.24.2024. And we had a very packed 4.24.2024, discovered he forgot his backpack at the restaurant. Husband and kid went to get the bag, my husband reporting that an employee was acting odd, at first saying there was no backpack left and then arguing the color of the backpack. He went on to hand over an item from inside the bag and then gave the bag to my kid, who had just gotten there and "ran" back into the back of the restaurant. I called and spoke with Justin, the GM, who, reasonably denied that anything would be missing, and blamed ,indirectly, some random person took my kids joint and cannabis wax from his backpack prior to it being given to a staff member. Believe what you will, but the stupid tax for people being unethical is painful. My kid is young, doesn't earn a lot, and this was his one and only treat for our trip from Illinois. I'm crushed for my child and disappointed in this happening. Again, on the beach! Outside seating is warm with great views. Cannot beat it. Pros... food nice size portions, tasty, and extensive menu options. Comfortable and plenty of wait staff to take care of you. It is Mexican based food, so be in the mood. Cons... sigh... starter is happy hour means they are happy you are there for an hour, not the other way around. Drinks are subject to what they decide. The margaritas were on special but prices not listed. Paid $21 for 36oz margarita but it had only 3 shots! That is not a "deal". The jalapeños are not fresh but from a jar. And they charge for everything. Literally everything. The jalapeños for our tacos were $1 for a small container. Come on now! It's Mexican food. Who doesn't want jalapeños?! Damn. Beers on tap 20oz. $11. Corona in a bottle $9. I mean seriously. It just breaks my heart the prices.
Baja Beach is right on the water and has a beautiful view. The drinks were solid and I would definitely recommend going for happy hour drinks but would probably stick with something light and hop to the next place for food since it tasted bland to me.
