Ate here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I am still thinking about how good it was! We had cheese burgers and they were delicious and really hit the spot. Try the luxardo cherry soda! It was really yummy and not too sweet. The only drawback to this place is the menu prices, which left me kind of dissapointed fries don’t come with the burgers at that price point ($14.75 for single patty burger + $4.25 for fries is steep) but for a fun once in a while treat, it’s a hard to beat place for a full vegan menu with good bites. Will be back!

Limited options makes for quick decision and fast service. Everything was top quality with well seasoned flavors. Our server was friendly and the music beats and vibe was just right for a Sunday morning in University Heights. This cozy little place, it is a micro dinner after all (not for large parties), is located right under the University Heights sign.

I’m devastated to hear of Dreamboat’s upcoming closure! The concept of a vegan diner was so exciting to me, and I had many no n-vegan friends accompany me and give their approval as well. Service was always great as well, but my one suggestion is that for a while no food besides dessert was served after 3pm. I definitely would have been by for dinner if that were not originally the case!

Service was great, very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, good music. Love that they open at 8 so you can get something to-go early or grab a quick bite inside, food and drinks were so so good. Can't wait to make my way through the coffee list

was walking the neighborhood and noticed this cute little spot! Super cute vibe inside with limited bar seating and adorable decor. This is a vegan spot, which isn't advertised anywhere. They have a full restaurant in the back called Vulture, which I heard great things about. My friend and I ordered a date milkshake for dessert and it was surprisingly delicious!! I'd definitely order another one. I plan to come back and order more things off the menu! Drink review: Date milkshake: (5/5) This was surprisingly delicious! It was definitely on the sweeter side, but reminded me of a salted caramel flavor almost.

Wow what a solid spot! If you’re looking for an awesome vegan spot with a vibe this is it. I only came for breakfast but it did not disappoint. With a real barista / mixologist the orange cream latte was so good and the breakfast sandwich was soooo good I’ll definitely be back when I come into town again

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! I ordered the tofu sandwich and a date shake, and it was like heaven. The shake was rich and thick, while the tofu sandwich resembled a fish sandwich: breaded and crispy, with a bright and fresh dill sauce. Their coffee is great too! My friend ordered the cheesecake, which was also wonderful—light, creamy, and with a hint of citrus.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great vibe, great drinks, and a hidden gem in the back! We popped into Dreamboat for a quick visit and grabbed seats at the classic 50s-style diner bar—super fun and nostalgic. The coffee was solid, and the shake was excellent. My partner had the orange cream latte, which was incredibly yummy and unique. It’s a playful, well-designed space with great energy. Bonus: there’s a speakeasy-style restaurant in the back called Vulture that we’re definitely coming back to try. Dreamboat is absolutely worth checking out!

Absolute wow. Be transported to a candy colored amber vision of the past on this absolute DREAMBOAT of a diner. The masterminds behind Kindred & Mothership have done it again - so many hands went into making this a reality, and more is yet to come with the opening of Vulture down the line. On our first visit we had a breakfast experience: latke + breakfast sandwich, cherry cola espresso tonic + orange cream latte, coffee cafe + pop tart. We are going back to check every item on the menu… I believe it will inevitably update as seasons change, but until then we will be walking over on a regular basis. ✌️💜🌱 PS: Everything is vegan and you wouldn’t have the slightest idea. How. It. Should. Be

DREAMBOAT is living up to the hype so far! Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and drink, friendly staff, etc. Incredibly excited to have an early-opening vegan option in town. UPDATE: For anyone wondering, they strictly enforce no laptops, so don’t expect to get work done here, and while dogs are allowed up to the counter to order, you won’t be able to dine in with them. I’m with a dog or laptop 99% of the time, so unfortunately this will only be a to-go option for those like me.

Soooooo good! I had the fancy free cocktail, (tried my friends Irish coffee and espresso martini), fries and a burger. Everything was delicious and the ambience is great. It was nice to enjoy a small quiet diner. There’s nothing like it in SD. The service was also amazing. (Thanks Jen!)

I rarely leave yelp reviews but I couldn’t express how much my partner and I LOVED this place. As people who have tried so many vegan places we know when one is bad and when one is really bad. We had multiple dishes and we couldn’t rank them because they each satisfied us so much. Plus being waited on by Hannah was just the cherry on top! We will definitely being dreaming about this place, Can’t wait to come back!

What a dreamy diner. Had a delicious veggie burger, great coffee, and great cocktails. It’s very tiny with only about 10 seats at the counter and no tables, so expect to wait. But they are now serving food all day! They also have vegan milkshakes that I can’t wait to try next time.

I came here on a Sunday morning around 10:45 AM. There's street parking only, but I got lucky and found a spot nearby. When you walk in, the space is super cute, but it's small. There are about 10 barstools total so it can feel a little tight if you're not a fan of being close to other people while you eat. The place was full when I arrived, but thankfully there was a seat open with a bit of space between me and the next guest. I was greeted right away and served water. They offer both sparkling and distilled. There was only one waitress handling the entire room, which wasn't an issue. I ordered the: Pistachio Matcha Latte (hot): it was excellent. Perfect for a chilly morning, not overly sweet, and really well balanced. I'd absolutely order it again. Potato Latka: it was also delicious. Very crispy, not greasy at all, and the combination of sour cream and applesauce was surprisingly great. The portion is smaller than it used to be, but it's also about half the price now. I actually prefer that, especially when dining solo, since it makes it easier to try more items. They've extended breakfast until 3 PM instead of ending at 11 AM, and lunch starts at 11 AM as well, which is a nice option. I also noticed they have a punch card for drinks (after a certain number you get a free one), which I only saw when someone ordered to-go. I meant to ask about it, but forgot before I left. I wish it had been offered to me while I was dining. My one real complaint is timing. My food came out about 15 minutes after ordering, and my latte arrived a few minutes after the meal. I would've loved to have the coffee first while waiting for breakfast. Overall, this is a very cute spot with friendly staff and really tasty food and drinks. It does get crowded, and service can feel a bit stretched when it's busy, but I still enjoyed my visit and would come back. Oh, and it looks like not only did they start offering punchcards and extending the breakfast time, but they lowered their prices!

Love this place! Delicious burger and fries. That's the only food I've tried so far. The vanilla and malt chocolate milkshake was amazing! The to go milkshakes could be a little bigger. I have only ordered to go but the service is always fantastic. The staff is very nice. I wish the menu was a little bigger and that breakfast and lunch were served all day. Love the old school diner vibe. Two suggestions! Very cute! Fun throwback/dreampop music. Went after lunch (12-3) so I missed out on the burger that I planned to get. Rum cake was disappointing. Espresso martini was good- smooth, good flavors, but heavy on the chai spice. Will update when I try more menu items. Update: Had a sproda pop with cheeseburger and giardiniera Italian pickles today. Sproda pop does have coffee in it! I ordered it before I knew. It’s like a homemade root beer with a doubleshot added. Cheeseburger was juicy and flavorful, with crunchy pickles. Amazing. The house-made giardiniera were very good too. Service can be slow, especially if there just one person up front handling take out orders and the bar. Take your time and enjoy the vibes

I am one who avoids vegan pastries, but what a surprise this place is. I frequent all the coffee shops in University Heights and IMHO Dreamboat has THE BEST pastries available in our hood. Their change up with the pastries puts the front end on the same level as Vulture. Really good coffee for a start. The apple gallette is delicious with an amazingly tasty, flakey crust. The sticky rolls are chewy and delectable. And the cookies are fantastic. The latkes look really good. I still need to try one.

Classic diner feel in a small space. The menu is small and so are the portions. I got the burger and the dirty Shirley - the total was just shy of $30. The burger was tasty but I left still hungry. For the price it would be great if the burger was bigger or came with fries. I wasn’t willing to pay an extra $5 for a plate of fries and I’m glad I didn’t after the portion size of the burger. Similarly, the dirty Shirley was a fun accompaniment to the burger, but remove the ice and it’s likely just a splash of every ingredient for the price of a regular cocktail elsewhere. It would probably be worth getting a milkshake instead since their cocktails are served in the same glassware.

DreamBoat Diner has a fun vintage vibe that feels straight out of the '70s or '80s — very charming and the service was friendly. I ordered the burger ($16.50, fries separate) and a Cherry Coke espresso drink ($8.50). The burger was a bit too salty and fell apart as I ate it, and the drink tasted exactly as described — not something I’d try again. Cool atmosphere, but the food didn’t quite match the price. I’ll wait for a strong recommendation before coming back.

I'm not one to leave reviews often, but I felt like I needed to here. The menu is very limited, but my husband and I knew that going in, so that's not the issue. I ordered the cheeseburger, which was fine and nothing special, but for almost $15 I got an 1/8 lb patty. It was almost $18 for a double cheeseburger (so a 1/4 lb). The drinks were ok, but nothing mind blowing. The fries were reminiscent of Ore Ida crinkle cut fries, which are not my first pick for a fry. Overall, mid at best, probably won't be returning

Flew from the Midwest to come here because they were announcing they were closing which I thought was suspicious and sad for only being opened for like 6 mo if that. First day, I got breakfast and it was really good and not busy. The shakes were not great. Basically Califa oat milk but not much thickness like ice cream is supposed to be in the shake. The whip also had no thickness it was way droopy. None of this was that bad considering what I experienced the next day. I ordered lunch and they were almost at capacity, but someone walked in with a dog in their backpack. This was a regular or someone that may have worked there. They didn’t stop at the bar and went behind the counter in which staff members approached cooing over the dog touching it for several minutes and going back and forth behind the counter. I had to ask the server to wash their hands. Absolutely disgusting. I have no idea if the kitchen staff washed their hands after. This is a health code nightmare and I cannot believe they so blatantly did that in front of customers. I would’ve rated it 4 stars up until I experienced the dog situation.
