THE BEST PHO IVE EVER HAD! Very flavorful broth and delicious meat, you can tell it’s good quality. Welcoming staff, kid friendly, open late, great portions and price! Literally what more could you ask for? Will be stopping here anytime I need a bite in SD!
We have been in San Diego for a week and this is the best food we have had! Weve been to places like Din Tai Fung and other high end restaurants and this place has been by far the best. The service was great and quick. We were craving something warm and good for the soul after being in the cold water and the pho was perfect! Highly recommend
I got the egg rolls and Pho Saté this is the best meal I’ve ever had in my entire life! Depth of flavor is a spiritual experience!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ PB Pho & Grill isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a piece of the community, and that’s all thanks to James and his family. They’ve been feeding us for years with incredible food and even better vibes, and now my family gets to be part of it too. You can taste the care in every bowl, and you always leave feeling like you just had a meal at a friend’s house. Huge thanks to James for all the hard work and heart he puts into this place. Y’all are the real MVPs!
This place deserves more than 5 stars. Such a great hearty family meal. I come here with my sister when we need a “pick-me-up..” The owners are kind and make you feel like family when you are there!
Jasmine, the co owner give a genuine experience of family fun experience it's the best soup in san Diego CA I know because, I tried all of the restaurants in san Diego. It never makes me sleepy or tired like fried spicy chicken or McDonald's or Italian food. I alway wait one hour outside waiting for the store to open if they get more people show up they will probably open up early for people at work who are ordering ahead. No regrets I always tip. I always get combination pho with brocoli.
This year I recommend getting an Asian Mother, and you can eat the best Vietnamese food EVERY day. IF that's not possible, eat only the top pho in San Diego as often as you can. Enjoy the buttery broth from the shell in James' Lobster Pho and complete your 2017 food goals. If you haven't had this experience, don't leave 2018 to chance. Realize your #photential
The owner gave us 2 cups of broth. My wife and I just had the gastric sleeve surgery. Very clean and nice restaurant, I would come back to have their regular Pho if I lived here. We r from Sioux City Iowa. The lemonade here was amazing and fresh. It is a must have. She was a very nice lady treated us right. So if you are looking for Pho these needs to be your stop.
Classic Vietnamese food in Pacific Beach! Pho is my go-to when I need a recovery meal from a late night of hanging out with friends. This place was near us and was much needed from the night before. Came here for a lunch and there were plenty of tables and service was quick and friendly. I got #14 - Rare Steak and Brisket and came with a good amount of meat for the noodles. Ambiance was nice and clean too.
I ordered lobster pho, and it was delicious. Ordering that for lunch got the guy taking my order really surprised 😁 The broth was very flavorful. The lobster was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing.
I recommend the chicken spring rolls any day of the week! They were perfect! They are extremely quick. I even messed up my order, but they made me a new one free of charge! Staff is extremely friendly, food is extremely good, environment is very clean and modern, and the prices are great! I will try my best to come back next time i’m in san diego!
I live in Denver, and every time I’m in San Diego, I make it a must to go to PB Pho for their bo kho pho. I recommend getting with your favorite pho cuts, like rare steak or brisket. My first time there and every time since, the first thing I notice when I enter the restaurant is the aromatics that hit my nose - it’s fragrant, familiar, and comforting to me as a Vietnamese, and I have seldom found other places that have the same. One note to keep them in their game is that the broth was a tad salty one time I went during off hours (3-4p), which was a bit disappointing but has only happened once.
I’ve been to this Pho restaurant twice and this is one of the better ones in SD along with Pho 5th Ave. and Pho Hut and Grill. The beef stew was very good and flavorful, the beef was tender! The pho was good very light but filling for a few hours! The broth isn’t just colored water and the staff is very friendly and attentive! Would eat here again :)!
I ordered the Pho with rare steak+Tendon, and the broth was deeply flavorful, with a clear, aromatic beef base that tasted like it had been simmering for hours and the service was friendly and efficient. The staff checked in just enough without hovering.
I will be returning! I had the classic pho with steak and meatballs. Broth was delicious. The sprouts and basil served on side were fresh. The server was attentive and friendly! I sat immediately upon entering and had pho within 5 minutes. Also very affordable menu!!
Was looking for some local pho in this place had great reviews. I like a more traditional car restaurant, nothing too trendy or weird. The prices were on point and so was the food. We got the rare steak pho, and shrimp pho. All the additions were fresh and delicious. We also got the fresh shrimp spring rolls. Heavy recommend, and we will definitely be going back.
Walked in here as we were looking for a quick bite to eat on Garnet Ave, wasn't expecting the food to be so delicious! Everything was fresh, flavorful and not greasy. Service was quick and friendly and the place was very clean. Will definitely be back!
Great tasting Pho soup. I ordered the #14 and it the broth was very flavorful. The cuts of meat where plenty and lots of noodles. I would recommend a nice warm bowl to warm up on a chilly evening.
I got the number 25 and some grilled chicken spring rolls. The portions are so big which is surprising. The prices are so cheap for like 5 to 15 dollars. The waiters are nice and so was the ambience. I would definitely come here again!
I will gladly make the 20 min. drive just to eat the pho and drink their Thai tea. My husband and I came around 9:30pm, not many ppl. We both got the #18 - well done steak and brisket. Meat very tender and juicy. Broth full of flavor. Well size portion. I got the large, could barely finish, and I sure do have a good appetite. The prizes are unbeatable, less than $10. I'm surprised they don't charge more. Thai tea, not to sweet and not to strong, just right. Great ambiance, family friendly and fast service. The guy in the front was very kind and helpful. I hope no one is ever rude to him. C'ya.
This place is my staple--I eat there probably twice per week it's sooooooooo good. Super fresh, amazing pho broth, great spring rolls, everything is good. I usually get the veggie pho and my boyfriend gets the rare steak but sometimes they have specials like the lobster pho pictured, which was amazing! Love this place! Thanks to the owner James for bringing such great food to PB!
Love, love, love! Ordered through Grubhub. Terrifically generous on the quantity of food and sides! With such a low price, its quality was superb! The shrimp rolls had a crunch ingredient to them which added a good texture overall. The ingredients were very fresh and authentic. Will definitely come back again!!

Spectacular food! The pho broth was piping hot. The rare beef 👌. Was a great meal for 2. Highly recommend and will make it a frequent dinner choice.
Really, really good. You’ll have no regrets.Been consistently good for years and years. Open a little later than other places and they never disappoint. Highly recommend!! Can’t wait to go back.
I love this place so much!! The pho broth is rich and complex, they load you up with fixins, and the staff are all very friendly. Best pho in PB hands down!!
We absolutely love PB Pho & Grill! It’s one of my husband’s and my favorite local spots in Pacific Beach for almost a decade now!! It actually holds a special place in our hearts because it was the very first place we went together when we started dating! This review is long overdue! The food is consistently amazing, and the service is always friendly! The house chicken wings are bomb! The pork (and shrimp) spring rolls are hands down the best. My go-to dish is the chicken pho (with beef broth)- I always add extra veggies! My husband loves the grilled beef rice plate and the beef stew with French bread! And don’t skip the smoothies — they’re all delicious! Our favorites are the mango, honeydew, and Thai tea! Thank you, PB Pho & Grill, for years of great food and memories. We’ll keep coming back! 💛

Food and service here is amazing!!!! This is the best pho I've ever tried. The place, however, is horrible, they need to keep an eye on their tidiness. 4/5.
I was very impressed with this restaurant! Came in hoping for a yummy bowl of pho to cure my hungover and it sure did the job! Very friendly service and amazing pho aroma! As a Vietnamese, I always have high expectations when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine. Not the best pho I had but sure was a delicious one! Check them out if you are in the area!

Come here because of Lobster Pho :Average . Spring roll Good. Nice Decorations. Energetic Employees. Located at Crowded and Fun Area. I want to come back to try more.
Two thumbs down! Don't waste your money or your time. Service was okay. Staff was semi friendly. But most importantly the food was God awful. I ordered a #13. The broth was cold, bland, and no amount of spice or sauces could fix it. My egg rolls were cold and our chicken banmih was not so great either.
I went to eat it there and I’m Vietnamese and my friend is Mexican and the lady that served us gave us attitude because I ordered rare steak on the side and she said why don’t I just get it in the broth and I told her because I don’t want it like that I want it on the side. The meat was skimpy portions and the vegetables they give you for 2 people really is only enough for 1 person. When I asked to use the bathroom they say it’s out of order but it really works. Never go to this place unless you want bad service and small portions of Pho.
I ordered number 40 today. When I gave a tip, they charged me with the double amount, which is absolutely not understandable! I noticed it to late. Then the food tasted literally to nothing! I had to add my spices at home. When I mentioned that at the restaurant I got told it is spiced, which absolutely was a lie! Originally it comes with noodles, but my order just included vegetables and chicken. Last time I've been there...
I called at about 10pm asking the man who answered, who I later asked him his name and I didn't fully catch it but it started with a T, and I asked him what is the latest time that we can get seated to dine in he said 10:30pm. I got the family together and drove immediately and we walked in at 10:29pm. He said sorry i can't seat your family, I told him are you the one that I talked about 30 minutes ago and he said yes. I told him I drove all the way here because you said that we could be seated and all he could say was sorry, but he would take our to go order. This is surprisingly terrible service and they lost a customer. I don't know how he was able to stand there knowing that he told us that we could dine in not 30 minutes ago and just say sorry
Review for PB Pho & Grill I’ve been eating at this place since they opened 9 years ago. It’s always been my go-to spot when I go to the beach, usually once a week. Generally, the pho has been good, and I’ve ordered the filet mignon pho—the house specialty—literally hundreds of times over the years. Unfortunately, there have been three incidents that finally convinced me never to return: Car incident: One day my car brushed against a concrete trash can placed right against the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. When I mentioned it to the manager (Jasmine), she became angry that I bothered her, showed zero concern, and simply said it wasn’t her problem. Metal in pho: On another visit, I bit into a piece of metal that was in my broth. It hurt, though thankfully I didn’t chip a tooth. When I brought it up, Jasmine laughed and offered me a single dollar off my $16 pho. Bad meat and poor response: Today’s visit was the final straw. The filet mignon was completely inedible—chewy, rubbery, and impossible to swallow. I flagged Jasmine multiple times but she was busy. By the end of the meal, I had a full plate of untouched meat sitting there and only ate the noodles and broth (which itself tasted old and off). When I showed her the problem, she dismissed it and said she couldn’t do anything since I had “already eaten the meal.” She then offered me 10% off, which felt insulting after nearly a decade of loyal patronage. I reminded her of the past metal incident—where I could have sued but instead stayed quiet because I liked the food—and told her this was unacceptable. Her response was a scoff, as if to say, “I don’t care.” At that point, I did something I’ve never done before: I told her I wasn’t paying, and I walked out. It’s sad, because the pho has often been good, and years ago I remember James (the owner, who I believe is her husband) being very kind to everyone. But Jasmine has consistently been impersonal, dismissive, and greedy. I even overheard her once bragging about buying an expensive Rolex for James—so clearly business is doing well. Yet loyal customers like me, who have supported them for years, get treated with no respect. After nine years, I won’t be coming back.
