Avis sur Tulum Seafood San Diego
Decided to try this place during a week night and wasn’t disappointed at all. Despite noting as a Seafood place, they do other items as well which is great. Ordered the birria, carne asada and fish tacos that were all really enjoyable. The tacos themselves are on the larger size, so one or two tacos is probably a better order size in the future unless you want to take some home for later. Will definitely be back to try more items from their menu.
Ordered takeout from the drive through. Probably the best fish tacos north side of the border. The camarones a la diabla are a a delicious and spicy. The tia Lupe was also very good. Not very dairy free friendly though, a lot of stuff has cheese/dairy. If you get a chance, swing by. It's worth your time and money
Really tasty! I've tried this place for the first time and I got the fish taco. It was quite large - bigger than any other fish tacos you can get in Mira Mesa. The avocado was really fresh and creamy and their mango habanero sauce was fire. They gave me like 3-4 pieces of fish and the sauce on the taco was very flavorful. The only con about this place was the fact they have no umbrellas in the patio. The patio is actually nice but the fact they have no umbrellas makes it not really usable. Also, they seem to lack proper ventilation as both the server and myself were both coughing from something in the kitchen.
My husband has been asking me to go to this place, and I'm glad I finally said yes. The food and service are excellent. Seeing the whole fish with eyes staring at me was a bonus!!😂🤣 We were very impressed.
Update: Went back and drove instead of walking there. Food was still excellent. But the small parking lot is not. When you leave you either have to wait in the drive thru line or you somehow turn your car around and go out the entrance which is not wide enough for you and an entering car. Extremely clean. Friendly staff. I had a fish taco and a tia lupe taco which made for a very large lunch. Fresh fish, fresh avocado. Not a lot of seating. Feels like a small business where they take pride in their food.
Delicious Chips and Salsa, Marlin Taquitos, and Caldo 7 Mares pictured. Indoor and outdoor seating available with friendly staff to help in your ordering as well. Come on down folks their food is fire!!!
I got the fish taco and the camaron enchilado taco (spicy grilled shrimp). I made the fish taco a meal, came with rice and beans. Fish was fried criiispy and was delicious. The rice had veggies in it, Heck yeah. Grilled shrimp was really good too, really spicy though. Their entire main menu is pretty much seafood. I think this was the best seafood tacos I've had before. Also their salsa was good too. 10/10 would come for years to come, hopefully.
The food tastes very good. One quesa birria taco is enough for a person. Very good portion sizes. Salsa bar is limited, with only spicy options. Their Birria based dishes are good compared to sea food. Very refreshing to see a fresh sliced avocado on a below $10 taco.
This place is streamlined to be fast. Much of the original menu is ceviche, raw seafood in various forms, the aguachilies are big bowls of raw seafood with onions, cucumbers, and spicy tart sauce to chemically cook the raw seafood. Most of the original tacos have cooked seafood: octopus, Marlin, bacon wrapped shrimp were the ones we got. The tacos are enormous and super tasty, but if you are sensitive to spice, ask for the sauces to be served on the side. My sister is very sensitive, and she was grateful she got it on the side, so she was really able to enjoy her food. We want to go back sometime to try out the birria. There is a drive thru! And they were doing a booming business through the evening so you know everything is fresh.
What a gem! Best micheladas I’ve had in a while…loved the fish taco, tecu taco, and birria quesotaco. Been twice this week so far…honorable mention to the esquites, not to be missed. Great patio, so nice on a sunny day!
Im surprised at this place cause it only has 4.7 stars and 111 reviews as of the time im writing this. I ordered a bowl of ceviche pescado the portions are huge. The fish was fresh the salsa was fresh. I would drive from IE to just get food here. I would be back to try the rest of the menu
The octopus taco is really good and definitely something to order. Had the fried fish taco too and that’s pretty tasty too. Portions are quite large and 2 tacos were enough for 1 adult. Enough parking available around the building and good amount of seating space both inside and outside the restaurant.

Great food definitely on the pricier side. I got Ceviche tostada, fish taco, and quesabirria taco and they were really good and really fresh. The tacos were between 7-10 for one taco which is pretty pricey but there’s enough stuffed in each to easily make 2 tacos and they give two tortillas. Purely based on taste it is easily the best Mexican food in Mira Mesa by a long shot no other place comes close in my opinion. Definitely check it out
I tried Tulum for the second time today. The first time I had Tulum, a coworker brought some fish tacos into the office for lunch and they were solid. What caught me was how good their salsas were and how well they complemented the flavor of the tacos. That was enough to get me into the store this afternoon where I had the "Huachinango Frito" (whole fried red snapper). I couldn't believe how good it was. No wonder the cashier said this was one of their better selling dishes. The consistency of the fish was just right (not too dry, not under cooked) and flaked easily off the bone. The seasoning was on point - zesty and savory Whatever it is they're doing with salsa should be noted. The Serrano Lime was flavorful and the Quemado packed a mean punch. Both good in their own respects. I'm adding this place to the monthly eating out rotation in Mira Mesa.

Los tacos de pescado 🐠🐟🐟 mmm💯🍺
I was suprised to find n actual Mexican tasting seafood. Really good!
it saved my life and my marriage
My favorite seafood place in town
Yummy food at a reasonable price!! 😀
Just got back from mexico and tbh this not bad
the fish taco changed my life
Very good food
Amazing customer service and food
Delicious food and affordable prices
Great food, fresh and tasty.
All the food is super delicious 😋
Food and service was amazing
Great seafood
Fresh seafood. 😋
Delicious!
Huge tacos.
Very, very good fish tacos. I always get one or two of the regular fish tacos. They come with two tortillas and two decent sized battered fish fillets, so if you seperate them its like two fish tacos each for $7 or 4 for $14.
First time here and service was super fast with lots of options. I recommend marlin taquitos and zarandeada taco. They were excellent. Lots of flavor and plenty of fish in the taco to make 2, you definitely get your money's worth.
Really enjoyed the food here. Huge portions and I don’t mind the price since you are basically getting two tacos in one. Fish taco was great, generous avocado and toppings and two nice fried fish filets inside. Grilled fish taco was also good as well as the ceviche. Both fresh and delicious. Tecu taco was nice and crunchy with delicious shrimp. Drive thru was fast only took 5 min to make four tacos and ceviche. They are nice and efficient. Will come back!
at first glance, it seems a bit pricey. but when you see the tacos yourself, its so worth it. they have a lot of filling and 2 tortillas that you could make 2 tacos with them. if i only had 7 dollars in my pocket, id rather buy 1 taco from here than 2 tacos elsewhere. they give TWO pieces of fish in one taco like whaaaat!!?! awesome. ingredients super fresh and their sauces are good too. (saw another review saying theyre inconsistent but i hope they fix this. i went on a tuesday and it was really good)
My favorite seafood place in all San Diego. Love the tostadas! If you haven’t tried the potato taquitos is a must :)
Great atmosphere, great food, and a great family experience. Tulum has a salsa bar and some indoor seating. It does have a beautiful outdoor seating area with heaters present if needed.
Food was delicious! Very good size portions. Potato taquitos were delicious and flavors are well balanced. Tulum ceviche tostada was made to order and a great side to the taquitos. Staff was friendly and facilties were clean.
Really good food, got some tacos, will come back for burrito next time!
Hey, know, I do like a new Mexican eatery, and this one is great. I came in for breakfast and ordered two of the "al la Mexicana" breakfast tacos for $5.50 each. They were great. They came doubled wrapped in warm corn tortillas and generously filled with freshly scrambled eggs, grilled mozzarella cheese, chopped red, yellow, and green peppers, onions, and topped with freshly sliced avocado. The tacos were supposed to have beans, but they did not come with any. The tacos were great and were even better with the salsa quemada. The salsa quemada found at the salasa bar was terrific in flavor and a good medium heat. The service was very nice. The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful. I liked that they offered inside and outside seating. They offer a few breakfast items, but a lot of seafood items. I look forward to returning. We'll get those beans next time!
First time customer, cashier recommended the Huachinango Frito. It was very delicious! Seasoned well with lots of flavor I love the sauces that came with it the fresh beans and rice top it off.
Fantastic!! Food was sooo good. By far one of the better Mexican seafood places in SD.
So glad a Mexican seafood restaurant opened in Mira Mesa! Their fish ceviche is really fresh and marlin rolled tacos are delicious. Tacos and plates are def worth trying too.
When in SD always a good place to eat food is always fresh 😋
Best taco I ever had.
This place recently opened, and I was so excited to try the ceviche. It didn't disappoint at all! It was delicious! We also tried fish tacos and quesa birrias, and everything was so good. Plus points for having a drive-thru!
Tasty and very fresh. Love the menu variety. I can’t eat shellfish so it was especially nice that they offer a fish ceviche.
Our favorite fish tacos in San Diego!
Real delicious mariscos in Mira Mesa finally! I love the shrimp and octopus cocktail. The tacos are delicious as well!!! Great place for lunch!!
The best fish tacos in San Diego!
Really excellent tacos! If you order a taco it’s actually two tacos, enough for a meal. If you’re really hungry get two orders of tacos.
Really good! Loved the potato taquitos and ceviche. Looking forward to coming back to try more items.
Great tacos that are huge!
Very good quality for the price, a twist from your average Mexican food joint.
Amazing fish tacos for a very fair price
Start off with a ice cold one while you wait for your food. 🍺 Then savor all those authentic sabores mexicanos 😘 delicioso
The food is really good and big portion with quality ingredients.
The carne asada tacos and grilled shrimp tacos were absolute fire! Definitely coming back!!
Amazing fish tacos, lots of veggies, and they are not kidding about the spicy shrimp!
Excellent fish tacos!
Best Mexican in Mira Mesa!!!
Got takeout from Tulum and it was great! The pulpo tacos and birria tacos were my favorite. The Zarandeado fish tacos were great too. Will certainly return to the Mira Mesa neighborhood gem

Me and my husband went for a brunch we ordered ceviche tostadas two fish tacos a fry fish red snapper was delicious and the Michelada oh my God the best Michelada I ever had the place is small and Mira Mesa location, but it was just perfect best seafood restaurant if somebody ever ask me would you go to Karina’s or Javier’s or tulum be my 100 %choice right away tulum

A fast food joint with real authentic Mexican tacos, not ultra-processed crap but real meats, seafood and veggies. I had the fish taco and birria taco. Both were amazing! The sauces are excellent and don't let the prices scare you because the portions are huge! I'll definitely become a regular at Tulum : ).
I had a fish taco for $7. It contained 2 perfectly fried pieces of fish with white sauce and tomatoes on 2 corn tortillas including slices of Avocado. It was super delicious!
As a Mexican raised in Baja, I assure you this are objectively good tacos. Very flavorful, the portions are very generous. Good sauces. I struggle taking my 6yo for dinner out. Not there, he loves it.
Tulum Seafood in Camino Ruiz is the place to go if you want your taste buds to do a happy dance. The fish tacos are fresh and crispy, with a perfect balance of tangy salsa and creamy goodness. The ceviche hits the spot with just the right amount of zest, and the shrimp burritos are a flavor explosion in every bite. It’s casual, it’s vibrant, and the service makes you feel like you're getting fed by family minus the guilt trip. You’ll walk out satisfied, full, and wondering why seafood this good doesn’t come with a beach view.
Not a higher score for atmosphere because this place is Tiny. But if you get a table outside, it's a plus! Food was absolutely delicious. I had a Zarandeado Fish Taco and my wife had a 7 Mares soup. Both were delicious. Be sure to add the Quemado salsa, it's bomb. They also have a serrano lime juice which I would use for any of the seafood cocktails, and add a splash to the awesome draft beers.
Delicious food and big portions! I got a fish taco and it had 2 pieces of fish and lots of toppings, avocado, etc. It was basically the equivalent of 2 tacos! For all of pur entrées, the ingredients were fresh and had amazing flavor. Their secret sauce was a teeny bit spicy, but overall delish. The staff was very friendly, store was clean, indoor seating was limited to a barstool table (raining, so had to sit inside). This is a great addition to the neighborhood and we will be back!
Delicious fish taco! At first I wasnt happy with price ($7.55+.50 cc fee+$1 tip = $9.05 for one taco) but then I got the taco and it was the biggest taco ever, almost burrito sized, and quite tasty with 3 different unique hot sauces on the side. Already looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu
I had the birria plate which was a decent portion and very tasty. I will be back because their menu had a lot of other items I want to try. Very satisfied 😊
Are you kidding me? Shrimp ceviche so refreshing and avocado balances it out. Grilled fish on cheesy tortilla was smooth and yummy. Octopus taco, octopus was tender, but was a bit too spicy… suggest to tone down the spice and let customers add spicy salsa if needed.
The food was delicious. We had the chili rellenos and seafood fajitas. Quick service and the people were friendly and efficient. Not a lot of room to eat inside but the outdoor dining is great.
Really good quality seafood! I usually get a ceviche tostada and a taco, enough if you are not super hungry. The birria is also quite good!

Great little place, with enough parking and a drive thru. I walked here during my lunch break at work and ordered a ceviche tulum bowl (which was shrimp and some spicy veggies) which cost me $24. I think the smaller size would've been better value, and it's also what the cashier recommended. The food was a bit too salty for my liking and the tortilla was hard to bite, at least, it was harder to bite than I normally expect for what looks like a tortilla chip. Overall not bad but definitely not above and beyond.
I ordered a fish taco(large portion, freshly fried, tlaxcalli had good consistency and soft) and ceviche mixto (good size portion, fresh ingredients, delicious) salsas are fire, especially the rojo. My only discrepancy was the use of bitter melon in the ceviche mixed in with the cucumber, threw off the taste on every other bite… Ive heard it’s common to have it in Filipino ceviche and it was an interesting take. After a few bites I enjoyed it very much. I will definitely be back.
Holy Smokes, I love their Chips & Salsa. It's the best I've had in a long time! And I love the Carne Asada Taco. It's my favorite thing so far. The Fish Taco was really fresh and so good too. Their Caesar Salad has Cilantro Caesar dressing! I love the unique taste, and I like getting the Revolcados to put on top. The Revolcados (spicy fried shrimp) were delicious but pretty spicy. If you like spice, you might love them. If not, I wouldn't try to be a hero, unless you like crying in public. 😁 Their food seems less processed, or more natural, so some people might miss that salty taste. But, I think a lot of people will appreciate the difference. Their food might not be the best you've ever had, but I really enjoyed it many times.

Food is tasty (and some plates are spicy). Clean place. Service is a tad slow, but that may mean they prepare it when you order. Small place inside.
Got the Huachinango Frito (fried snapper) - it was ait. Fried batter shell bent the plastic fork but it tasted good enough regardless. Fresh vegetables were meh quality. Seems like this is a restaurant that is testing the waters (pun intended) to become a fast food chain. It’s not cheap though. $7 for the cheapest taco is pricey - there’s got to be better Mexican food around here than this - I don’t really recommend it.
This place is good but the workers are always high. They look high and I saw them buy weed in the parking lot. I would give this place a 5 because the food is good but they always get my order wrong due to being under the influence
Been there 6 times. 5 out of 6 times they forgot something on the order. Good food, but double check your order. Also there drive through people need customer service training. Go to in and out or chic fil an and see how night and day the service is. Again the food is good!!
I WAS very impressed with Tulum after the 1st time going that I recommended a friend to try. Unfortunately I'm disappointed to discover that they're inconsistent in their delivery ---> The tacos were half the size, half the toppings, & customer service compared to my 1st visit was unfriendly. She didn't even ask if he wanted any hot sauce; let alone did she say Thank You. What makes a business good? Consistency. I won't be returning. FYI - There was only 1 other car in the drive-thru & no one was inside, so there's no excuse. $7 - $8.50 tacos? No thank you.
I was one of two cars in line at the drive through, after waiting for 15 mins for the car in front of me to get their food, i backed out and left. I guess im never trying their food
We had great expectations for this place, unfortunately they fell short in my opinion. We tried right after the street fair and tried the agua chili and it tasted like soap. We went back after a few months thinking it was because they just opened, and it still tasted like soap. Thanks for trying, we are off to El Viejon… oh and we did take out since it smells like fabuloso…
Guy at drive-thru acted like I interrupted his day. Had to ask him to repeat my order to make sure he got everything. Shrimp was over cooked. Fish had no taste. Lettuce was browning. Avocado was browning and dry.

Nasty good and even nastier service or lack there of
La comida es buena, pero el tiempo de espera es demasiado.
Rude service! Young guy working had an attitude for literally no reason, my dad is older and has an accent (wasn't born in the U.S.) and the guy was so rude to him just because my dad had to repeat himself.
