Avis sur El Abuelo San Fernando
I remember when I lived in Sylmar we loved to take family on Sundays for dinner. It had a nice Great atmosphere and good service food. ❤️
I love the quality of the food, the environment is so welcoming and the customer service is always great. The employees are always smiling and have such good energy.
We ate there for my son in laws birthday. Everyone's dinner was delicious. I had machaca and eggs which was delicious. All the sheets looked delicious and I can't wait to go back to try the enchiladas and everything else.
Good place to eat..simple but good Mexican food, the waiters/waitresses are kind, one can get a chilled beer to drink with their food. The corn tortillas which are freshly made with a hand press for your meal, are delicious. At my age, I'm 68, I'm fascinated with small simple things; the Abuelo logo which was stamped onto the warm tortillas really left an impression on me. Sincerely, M. Rivera
The food was not your regular Mexican food, but it was really delicious, which was evident by the number of customers coming in a constant stream. If I had not had to use the restroom, I would not have discovered the one big flaw in our dining experience and that was the bathrooms. They smelled terrible. Even walking by them to get to the parking lot in the back, you couldn't help but notice and this is a testament to their tasty food because it sure didn't seem to stop anyone from dining in their restaurant. I mean, I would go back. I just wouldn't use the restroom......or walk past them.😬
Usually it's all good including the service. The chips were cold and old. I asked for fresh chips and this bothered the waitress in so she took the basket to the counter asking but telling the gentleman at the counter "you made these this morning, right?" It was 10:30am. She brought out a second batch which was definitely made in the morning. Our meal arrived and the rice was not fully cooked. It was hard and chewy. Just a bad experience and money spent on a meal that was not eaten.
You never know what, quality of food you will receive, better not go to el abuelo, tacos dorados de papa is reheated frozen food, two waiters for so many tables not fair to workers best not go
Food is good! We got the other to pick up. We got home and they included zero tortillas!!!!! No one!!!!! 😡😡😡
I ordered online, but they always forgot something, the last 2 times I ordered, they didn't put the tortillas ,we drove far and they forgot the tortillas, please!!!!!
Food was not good...very flavorless. Chips were old/stale but salsa was ok. And the staff really seem to rush us out. Will not be returning or recommending to others.
First time going here with the family, recommend by sister inlaw. First of, our order was mistaken 3 different times. When we brought it up the server made it seem like we were lying until we told her just order than please. Second we assume the tip was in the convenience fee was the tip, so we weren't leaving any and my father I law decided to leave the tip. The server was rude and confronted my wife about leaving the tip. I mean service was already bad how were we suppose to want to leave a tip. Dont recommend. Do not go here.
Bad experience. I ordered grilled chicken breast.NO FLAVOR AT ALL. IS LIKE CHEWING A PIECE OF RUBBER. NOBODY ASKED HOW WAS THE FOOD. OR NEED ANYTHING ELSE. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. !!!!!i
We ate at el abuelo today horrible experience and we regret even going. We both ordered burrito mojados. We waited very long for them to come out and when they did they were cold the meat was luke warm but the sauce was cold and the rice was hard! we were very hungry and very tired from our long work day the day before so we decided to wait All over again would make us very unhappy . The waiter never asked how our food was never came to give us a refill she also did not offer me any water as my boyfriend had only ordered a menu drink but I was also thirsty. Any time she came to the table it was because I went out of my way to ask which was once to ask for more water chips and pico de gallo which she never said costed extra I had to ask. Eventually by the end of our meal another server comes by and asks how we are doing and offered to refill our drink at this point we thought it only best to complain to our server or manager only to find out that our server who never checked on us was the manager ! We let her know about our burritos and she said why didn’t we tell her sooner and I replied you never checked to see how we were doing and explained that we were very hungry and tired and didn’t want to wait all over again. She said she would take off the one drink and add a small discount but she only took off the drink and never added a discount . I suggest she sits down eats a cold burrito with hard rice and then be asked to pay for it. We were very unhappy and after all of that that manager still returned to say she spoke with the kitchen manager and the kitchen manager said the rice was fine . What a joke!!!! A rude joke I let her know that it was indeed hard , burned , or old . She also said next time tell us sooner so they could fix it next time. I’m sorry but we never return to places that we don’t like. We never complain when we go out to eat but we usually also are able to pay 30$ and at the very least receive hot fresh food. Bad experience will never return. The place seems like it is outdated not that that usually bothers me it’s just I would say don’t bother and don’t waste your money
