Indoor and outdoor seating museum cafe with all the slappahs that children would desire we are talking about fries, pizza, sandwiches, salads, power bowls, fruit cups, soda, hamburguesas, cups of soups, chicken tenders, bags of crisps, wraps, mac n cheese, and quesadillas. Chicken tenders and fries is your classic chicken tenders and a grip load of fries. Hamburgler comes with all the toppings though cheese is $2 in addition. Add a soda and the bill was $41. After looking at so many tasty animals the group was famished so it was great the cafe had ranch/catsup/moutarde/mayonesa and water on draft to load up on the kilocals.
After this crazy year of being indoors and distant this was definitely refreshing! You want to get into the rainforest or the planetarium get there as early as possible to sign in 😭😭 it was all too full for my two daughters and I to get it 😩

Wendy makes hands down the best cappuccino on this side of the bay. Just delicious

Lots of options! The coffee bar was good, The fries, onion rings, and chicken tenders were crispy and flavorful. We ate on the patio and enjoyed the sun.
We ate lunch while visiting California Academy of Sciences. The portions were quite large and delicious but on the expensive side.
Lots of food choices. Caprese sandwich, clam chowder, pizza, and much more. Chicken tortilla soup is tasty, especially on a foggy day. Food has nice presentation but could easily cost at least $20 per person. Seating is available inside and outside. There are metal utensils and self servecondiments.
The chipotle chicken sandwich at the grill is surprisingly good, albeit on the pricier side ($16). Comes with seasoned bread, arugula, and a tiny kick in the aioli spread. Seating can be hard to find if the place is busy. I wish they had a counter table where the aquarium wall is for lesser parties or individuals.

I visited the museum multiple times and always make a stop for garlic fries. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of the price. I felt they could have smaller portions for toddlers at cheaper price. That way I don’t have to share food with kids.
We got lunch here while at the museum for the day. I got a slice of pepperoni pizza and an order of garlic fries. The garlic fries came in a giant bowl that was far more than the appetizer I expected. It could be a meal all by itself. The pizza slice was middling but I did enjoy the fries. I also ordered one of their special lattes which was very sweet.

You should fully expect paying for overpriced food here. It's pretty standard food, nothing extraordinary.

Not your "only place available to eat" quality of food, but wouldn't recommend if you're not hungry. I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl and it was ok. I think they charged for the extra tiny bread (without stating it would be charged) or the taxes in their food are really high. They claim their food is locally (CA state) grown, so they have that going for them. Lots of varieties (pizza, deli, burgers, pasta, soups).
It is an expensive place with 16 bucks burgers and sandwiches. If you add the fries for 7 bucks you are looking at good restaurant kind of price. However, it is convenient since there is so much to see at the museum and it is eatable food unlike other museum food.
Talk about inflated pricing. The food and atmosphere may be good, but the price takes away from all of it and ultimately just leaves you with guilt. They had a lot of options, but everything was unjustifiably expensive. $11 for one slice of pizza? Really? It didn't even look that appetizing. Even a side of fries, regular, unseasoned fries, was $8. You can get 20 nuggets and a double cheeseburger at McDonald's for less than that. Me and my party wanted actual lunch, but it just wasn't something we could afford here. We all shared a bowl of fries to fill the empty space in our stomachs before we left the museum to have a real meal elsewhere. They were warm and good quality, I'll give you that, but not $8 in quality. That's museum pricing for you, though. We should have eaten beforehand and brought more snacks. At the very least, there was clean, adequate seating, and they offered water, condiments, napkins, and other utensils. The fish tank beside the dining area was cute, too. Overall, 3/5.

Food is below average and pricey. It's only goo when you're starving. Advice for folks to eat prior to getting here and only buy few items as a snack. Or better yet bring you're own food/snacks

The price is high, but not tasty. I ordered a hamburger, but I was surprised because it was really bad. The store staff is very kind to the family. They helped a lot of parents. There are only 2 restaurants in this museum. If you want to stay here all day long, you don't have other options. The number of seats is not enough, but you can seat if you can wait about 10 minutes.
Went to the Bowl for lunch, ordered tofu, brown rice, broccoli, mushrooms, and zucchini. Cost was about $15. EVERYTHING was ice cold besides the lukewarm tofu and rice. The vegetables sitting on top of the rice very quickly made it cold as well. This is definitely not a great option for food in an establishment such as this. Very disappointing, however we were quickly refunded which was the only redeeming quality.
Food options have greatly decreased since our last visit. Quality is average, price is exceptionally high for what is offered. Probably got overcharged, but couldn't get a receipt to confirm. Probably not eating here again.

I got charged 17 dollars for two chicken tenders and some fries. Food was decent but I would NEVER pay that much for 2

When you order the cup of soup, you'll have to verify that they didn't actually give you a bowl. I'm the only person in line and manage to get $8 ice cold garlic fries. Eat before you arrive. Great museum, awful cafe.
Not only is a single slice of pizza $9, the food is all-around terrible and bland. For the price I'd expect to be eating like a king but I'd rather just leave the museum for lunch and come back later.
The food was expensive and mediocre, buns very dry. But my biggest grief is price discrepancy on many items. Chicken tenders advertised 2 dollars cheaper than at register, hotdogs 2 dollars more at register. Garlic fries upgrade is 3 dollars on the TV and 4 at the register. It felt very scammy. I was able to get a refund very quickly for some cost which was good but I shouldn't have to ask for a refund at all.
