Came here with my partner tonight. We ordered the salt and pepper pumpkin, and fried tofu with chilli as appetizers. Came out within 5 minutes, cooked to perfection, tofu was so light and both were a generous size, too. Half way through the entrees, we ordered a Mongolian Beef and a Lemon fried chicken and - WOW. Came out within minutes, and I tell you what, I don't often eat Chinese but this has swayed me and my partner who is a non vegan said it was one of the top meals he has had - ever! The mock meat was so similar to real meat and the flavors were all awesome! I wouldn't of been able to tell it was vegan, onion & garlic free! We left with full bellies and in a great mood because of this wonderful little find!
We didn't go in to this place with high expectations, but they really delivered. Apart from the crispy vegan chicken (they were out of fried wantons), everything else was really good. The spinach fried rice is the best fried rice preparation that I tasted and I highly recommend it. The sweet corn soup was tremendous, usually not available for vegetarians without a substantial reduction in taste. The kung pao tofu was nice and so was the chow mein, but not as nice as the other two. The menu is really long with tons of options and I'm sure I'll be back to try other things as well.
this buddhist vegetarian restaurant is one of my all-time faves. everything here is delicious, and the atmosphere is casual and friendly.
Great spot for vegetarian food. Their takes on non veg dishes are pretty great. We had fried rice with “pork” and “ham” that had good flavor and texture. The noodles with chicken are great as well. We weren’t a fan of the soup we got but everything else was appetizing and filling. I’m not vegetarian but can see myself coming again since it’s nearby and would definitely bring vegetarian friends to check it out.
-Taro lamb satay sauce - 9/10 great -golden knots - 9/10 great -combination platter (s) - 7/10 good, BBQ pork good, soybean sheet was pretty good tho kind of a funky flavor at first, Tofu was good, sweet n sour wheat gluten was pretty good but had a weird flavor and texture that took some getting used to. Fully vegan place!
Wonderful hidden place with a beautifully kind staff who clearly put their hearts into their work. They even gave me free sesame balls with red bean filling with my order! The menu has a million options, and everything I've tried so far is delicious. Highly recommend the salt and pepper fried pumpkin. I will never crave french fries again--this is the only fried food I'll ever need. I've been a vegetarian for 9 years so I have no idea what BBQ pork tastes like, but their vegetarian version was phenomenal. Great texture. The service is fast and I've never seen the place crowded.
Excellent vegetarian buddhist restaurant. Friendly service. Local vibe. Most, but not all of the dishes simulate regular meat dishes - for example the Taro Sesame Veggie "Chicken". They taste great, are 100% vegetarian, yet if you like your veggie dishes to remind you of meat - they do. The chicken dishes even have more "white meat" like parts and "dark meat" like parts. How do they do it? We have no idea, but we enjoy eating here and do so regularly for the last 14 years or so.
Loved it. Food was so delicious - all eight of us (vegan and non-vegan alike)we're very pleased. They have a very extensive menu, most of it vegan, non-vegan options clearly marked, many things gluten free. I absolutely adored the braised spareribs with broccoli! I would like to make it my new Thanksgiving tradition.
The only negative for me here is the parking situation.
Great selection of vegetarian Chinese food. Delicious! Group of 5 of us had a variety of dishes and we liked all of them. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
I just ate here for the third time. We got string beans with fake beef and a dish with coconut sauce and taro. I thought they were both great, but my partner points out the beef was a bit too salty. The food has strong flavours without being as salty or oily as that would normally mean. If we lived nearby, we'd come here every week.
Awesome vegetarian place! Not in your primary downtown or eatery nucleus in SF, instead, the places is located off the prime, in a nice quaint neighborhood. You'll be able to find parking, and don't have to avoid humans because there will be privacy for you. Like any vegetarian restaurants, it won't have the same meaty flavor and looking for it won't help. Instead, come to enjoy their variety of vegetables. Any vegetarian restaurant will provide you good health.
This place exceeded my expectations! The menu is almost entirely vegan, with like 4 exceptions that are very clearly noted, and everything we tried was incredible. I recommend the roasted “duck” app and the spare “ribs”. Honestly, some of the best food I’ve ever had. It was super flavorful and I’ll definitely be back!
Best food I had all week in San Francisco. The only bad review I think this place ever got was from someone who thought they serve meat. I too at first was nervous that there was meat because they list fish etc on the menu, but it's all made of soy or some other veg ingredient. They have three menus plus a few secret items that people just seem to know about it. I had a mini wok filled with basil tofu and veggies that came with an "egg" roll, tea, and brown or white rice. They do beautiful hot pots and all sorts of other creations. Best Chinese food that I found so far.
As a vegetarian, I was never really a fan of Chinese cuisine... Until I came to Enjoy. I discovered it a month ago and have been back 4 times! The menu is huge and full of hearty, healthy, and well-sized portions of Chinese food. The staff is kind and helpful and despite it being a small space, I've never found trouble getting seating. My personal favorite items are the Lamb Curry, the Braised Spareribs, and the Spicy Mongolian Beef. They all go well with the Spinach and Pine nut rice (or the standard brown rice). Highly recommend going with a group to try a variety of dishes. You just can't go wrong with this place!
THIS LOCATION IS AMAZING HOLY MOLY I had only ever gone to the Chinatown location until yesterday when I went here. So much more friendly here, like night and day difference. The older lady at the Chinatown location is mean but here it was a young man and another lady with shorter hair and they were so nice! I had given up on the other location but am so pleased to know I can still get amazing food and with a smile not a scolding look the entire time 😅 I got the string beans and chicken w/ black bean sauce, bbq pork, and orange chicken to bring home to my girl. Everything was outstanding. First time trying black bean sauce and I loved it.
I ordered takeout and it was ready in 15 mins. We enjoyed every dish which was the house special chow mein, fatty pork, & green beans and chicken. The fatty pork was supposed to come with mustard greens and Napa cabbage but I only found cabbage. They also give complementary sesame balls for dessert, so good.
Enjoy Vegetarian restaurant has great service and vegetarian dishes. I highly recommend it. I will definitely be back again and again.
I've been to a few Chinese vegetarian restaurants. This is a good one. Good value and good quality. Large menu. We had the fried pumpkin, tan tan noodles and a mix of seitan, tofu, mushroom and vegetables. All very good. Maybe a bit of the sweet side, but not overly so. It's a bit off from the main commercial area, which may help if other restaurants are too busy.
Today mom and I had the vegan mock meat chunks with broccoli and sweet n sour chick'n was really good. For dessert has sesame balls with red bean paste. I like it. I can't get enough of the spare ribs made from mushroom stems that seem to have seitan [vital wheat gluten] wound around them. The sweet n sour pork is about the best around. All this is vegan. I have seen Buddhist monks in here during lunch in the orange robes with no hair because hair isn't really needed is it? Treat yourself and help the planet. Eating animals the outdated oppressive food chain or food pyramid needs to be updated. People are a lot healthier eating plants. Everyone I know loves Enjoy. You can enjoy vegetable pot stickers too and the hot sauce is so full of flavor. The hot sauce is from sesame oil with red chili flakes immersed in it. The hot sauce is shelf stable. Also use the vinegar to add extra flavor to the chili oil and pot stickers. I don't use the soy sauce when I eat here. The sweet n sour pork is served on a bed of steamed broccoli. Get the brown rice instead of the white rice. The brown rice is healthier and has a nutty flavor that compliments the entrees better than regular white steamed rice.
We love this place! We went to both locations and had excellent experiences and meals! It’s hard to find a Chinese vegetarian place that makes such delicious food. We enjoyed the orange chicken, combination platter, braised spareribs with daikon radish, veggie duck, and Dan Dan noodles were ALL notable. We’d eat here all the time if we lived here! Also, excellent customer service at both locations! 👌🏼
What a cute place! We were visiting this quiet neighborhood and got hungry. We didn't want to face all the potential crowds in downtown SF (or COVID-19). We found this place on Google Maps. I thought it was a weird spot for a veggie restaurant, but gave it a go anyway. So happy we did! The mock beef green beans and twice cooked "pork" were wonderful dishes. We also had the mock chicken nuggets as an appetizer (we're big eaters) and really enjoyed those too. Spicy level could be taken up a notch, but otherwise, it was a really nice, unexpected experience. The gal who served us was super nice and the food came quick and hot. I hope they survive the lock-down, they super-deserve your patronage!
This is our 1st choice Chinese vegetarian restaurant in San Fran. Lots of selections and great flavour. Highly recommended. Fair price, kids friendly as well.
Tried this place for the first time and loved it!! Not your typical American Chinese restaurant-- some of these flavours I have not experienced since my time in China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. We got to try some unique items-- Vegan Shark Fin Soup, Eggplant with Vegan Sea Bass, and Vegan Braised Spare Ribs with Broccoli. Everything was delicious and actually seemed like excellent quality as well. Everything was cooked and spiced to perfection and the portions were very generous. They have a massive menu so there's something for everyone, even picky eaters! Also all dishes are made without garlic or onion, for those who avoid garlic & onion for spiritual practice. Of course during COVID they aren't during table service, only Take Away but atleast they were kind enough to let us eat our meal at their 1 table available inside. We really appreciated that! Very happy with our experience here and would gladly return.

I love coming here. Delicious vegetarian food. Highly recommend the shark fin soup and spare ribs. It's close to a Muni stop. Not a ton of seating, but I've never had a problem getting a table. They also accept credit cards.
Gosh! Has always been one of my most favorite restaurants for Asian vegetarian food! Ambience is so so. But will go again and again for the food! Slightly on the pricier side. But worth it. Parking is easy. Plenty of street parking available.

The kung pao chicken is pretty tasty though it could have used a little more mock chicken. The braised ribs are ok, flavorful but the texture was a bit odd and it had the usual aftertaste of mock meat. Also they kindly gave us delicious warm sesame doughnut holes filled with red bean paste for free. We got takeout based on other reviews mentioning bad service
The lady working there was very attentive and helpful. I was very uncomfortable as it was 88° today and there was no A/C or fans in the restaurant. Thus, I couldn't really appreciate the food. The food was good. It's something that you have to get used to if not a vegetarian.
Vegetarian/Vegan Chinese restaurant creating a variety of dishes from chow Mein to tempura to tofu/veggie meat & vegetables. I would describe the dishes here as “pure” yet flavorful. The main flavor focuses on the sauce of the dish rather than multiple ingredients combining together. Each piece of veggie meat, tofu, and vegetable is infused with the dish’s sauce. All the vegetables were tender and the soy-based meats chewy. I really enjoyed the (seitan?) strips in the chow mein and the “chicken” in the kung pao chicken. Only complaints are that each dish was over-peppered (too much black pepper added) and the tea was pretty weak (they used 1 tea bag for the whole pot of water).
Pretty good vegetarian food. Service is ok, they didn't have chow mein so they replaced with rice noodle. The deep fried pumpkin was pretty good. The one dishes did not have enough taste.
This place is close to where we live but we never tried it because it looks like a bit of a dump from the outside...but the friendly staff and great food make up for it. We went on Memorial Weekend so it was busier than usual. Waited about 20 minutes or so. But the food came quick and the food tasted really good especially the chicken chow mein. The General Tso was really good...the only negative is there's more broccoli than the chicken on the plate. We ordered crispy tofu, broccoli beef, chicken chow mein and General Tso chicken.
On latest visit enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. Creative dishes, all without meat. Service was good and friendly. 2026 update: food & service still good 👍.

Nice spot. Food was fine. Huge selection of vegetarian and faux meat options.
A casual place that offers all vegan dishes with few exceptions. The sea bass and eggplant was excellent. The ribs and broccoli was okay. This is a great stop, as it's out a few blocks from restaurant row near the south side of Golden Gate Park, which means it's much more accessible if you're driving. This is a must stop for vegans.

Nice to have so many vegetarian Chinese food options! Very wide selection of fake meats. The food was pretty good but not great. Overall, we were disappointed.
Haven’t been in awhile and not my favorite but mother in law like vegetarian so came here for a few dishes. Overall decent flavors and nice mock meat texture just a bit pricey average $20 a dish for smaller than average sizes.

Disappointed the last time I went, in 2024. Quality had gone way done. Service seemed indifferent. After years of dragging visitors there to be pleasantly surprized, I was ashamed and didn't enjoy the dishes we ordered. Looking for a replacement.
Been there several times since it is so close to my house. I love the fact that there is a vegan spot so close, however, i just can't give too great of a rating for Enjoy. They are a bit over priced. And even though the portion size is pretty big more often than not the food is bland and greasy. I've never gotten sick from Enjoy but every time i go i do end up with any upset stomach. When it comes down to it, there are better places with vegan options within a five minute walk.
Unhappy. I really don't know how this place has a high review. Won ton appetizer was the greasiest I've ever been served. This is just a little corner Chinese place. Rest of food average, decor average, bathroom window broken and sealed with cardboard. We ate quickly and left due to staff screaming at each other in the kitchen. Don't they know customers hear them?
Ate at this restaurant years ago when it first opened up, have always liked it. But based on my experience with the food delivery in the recent few years, I have become very disappointed with Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant in Sunset. One thing to note beforehand is that nobody at the restaurant ever picks up the phone, and there is no voicemail either. So if you want to make a reservation on the phone or want to talk to someone in the restaurant, good luck! While the dishes are good in general, the quality is very inconsistent. For example, I once ordered the Braised Spareribs w/Dai Kon. It was awesomely delicious. Then, when I ordered it again the following week, it was horrible--the white radish were only half cooked, and the big chunks of carrots were so hard that I could tell they were only cooked for less than 10 minutes, both were tasteless. Maybe they have to regularly demonstrate that they only use fresh ingredients? They used to make the tofu in-house. But nowadays, most of the tofu in various dishes taste like commercially made--dry and hard. All in all, even if they won an award in 2017, for sure this location no longer lives up to that standard.
Never ordering again! Mistakenly ordered from here and not Loving Hut. I was charged 40$ for 3 tiny appetizers. 4 drumsticks with no sauce , a tiny pile of sliced bbq tofu”pork” witch I thought was a bbq pork bun…Nope! Just some super small side. Last item was 5 tiny samosas. The other restaurant has similar menu, I should have known something was up when I saw the total.
The woman working here was mad that we tipped $1 for two dishes. We tipped low because they gave us dirty plates and were rushing us compared to the fair skinned patrons in the resturant. We ended up tipping more because she was blocking us from leaving h the restaurant. Horrible experience and customer service.
I had high expectations for this place and was greatly disappointed. They advertise having mock meat and faux fish and I’ve had a lot better. We ordered the WON TON appetizers, THERE WAS BARELY ANY FILLING. We also ordered the LEMON “CHICKEN” they were literally patties with lemon sauce. It tasted more like faux ham. It was just so disappointing. And I spent over $50. NOT WORTH IT. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME. Service? It was okay. It wasn’t horrible but would I go back here? Definitely not. If you want better faux meat go to Big Lantern! This place honestly really sucks, anyone that raves about this place is most likely white meaning they have 0 taste buds.

I decided to come here about a month ago. Horrible decision to say the least. Upon walking in, the cashier told me and my husband to sit in the far back corner of the restaurant while she told an Asian family to “choose anywhere” When our food came out, only one dish was warm while our chow mein was room temperature. The food is okay but the service is horrible especially if you’re black or brown. We decided to tip low due to the poor service as well as having to send back our dirty dining plates. The cashier demanded that we tipped at least 15%. Mind you we ordered two items and were not satisfied with the treatment we received. She proceeds to tell us that tipping is mandatory in “America.” She wasn’t satisfied with the tip we originally gave and cornered us until we gave her $2 more dollars. May she receive the karma she deserves. What in the world?!
