My favorite coffee shop in San Francisco- I love coming here on Saturday mornings for an oat milk chai latte! They also make killer breakfast sandwiches. Definitely worth checking out!
Lovely location tucked just off the Main Street. Tables with windows facing out over the marina. Good spot to take a moment to chill. Friendly staff who were attentive
BEST breakfast frittata i have ever had in my whole wide life. 10/10 recommend coming here. also ordered a dirty chai. the ambience is hard to beat. you must try!
Equator Coffees serves a great cup of coffee, and the steady flow of people shows how popular it is. I really enjoyed sitting outside in the nice weather, slowly sipping and taking in the moment. Bonus points for the dog treats available—such a thoughtful touch for pet lovers!
Equator Coffee is a fantastic spot! We had an awesome coffee paired with an amazing breakfast sandwich that hit the spot. They also offer other quick bites, making it a great option for a casual meal. The tables provide a comfortable place to sit and enjoy your food while taking in the stunning view. Also, amazing prices ! Perfect for a relaxing start to the day or a quick break—highly recommend!
I was on my way to Golden Gate Bright when I suddenly caught the delicious smell of coffee in my nose. Following this smell, I ended up at this wonderful café right on the waterfront and was not disappointed. The coffee not only smelled delicious but also tasted good. They also have a very impressive display of snacks. I opted for a blueberry muffin. The atmosphere and service were very pleasant and friendly. On site, you can eat outside or inside - but inside there are only a few seats. If the weather is good and the clouds allow it, you can even see a bit of the Golden Gate. This spot is definitely recommended for a to-go coffee and snack.
Service is great and nice drink and pastry options. Their black coffee selections are okay overall wish they had a really dark low acid roast
Great new outpost for Equator. The coffees are superb, as you'd expect - very flavorful. Staff are super friendly, and there's some great seating space outdoors. Also some stools inside of you prefer. A great addition to the Fort Mason complex.
Delicious breakfast sandwich and cake. Good coffee too. It seems to be a quite popular spot and definitely a good way to start the day.
I haven't loved my time in San Francisco, as in my first evening here I saw a homeless guy fight a security guard in a Walgreens and witnessed more than a few junkies shooting up on the sidewalk with no regard for human life lol. But I've had such a negative view point since that first night, I decided today to walk as much as the city as I can with an open mind. I always find walking through a city gives you the best feel for it, boots on the ground let's pound the pavement. Legs feed the wolf. All this to say I'm at Equator Coffee right now, outside in these red metal chairs with my bomb cold brew and delicious butter croissant, getting off my feet for a sec to recharge for the rest of the journey. I love this area of SF tho... that's what locals call it yeah? SF? I hope y'all don't call it "San Fran" that just sounds wrong aahahaha. But, yeah. I love how much nature is over here. I love breathing this clean, crispy air it's good for the soul I swear to god ahahaha. It reminds me a lot of Vancouver, and I think Vancouver is the most underrated city in the world but that's a convo no one wants to have. SF is growing on me. I'll keep y'all updated on the rest of this walk, about to get these legs working again. Thank you Equator Coffee for fueling this 2nd half of my journey. Ig @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

My favorite spot to get coffee in the whole city. Grab a drink and sit outside at one of their tables. There is a ton of space and a great view of the bridge. Highly recommend their matcha latte. I’ve yet to find one better than theirs! Also recommend the Early Bird breakfast tacos — SO delicious. And for a gluten-free, vegan treat, get their carrot muffin.
The coffee and espresso drinks are great. Nothing bitter here. It's all smooth and delicious. They also have a really good pastry selection. Great for cyclists and tourists and passers-by alike.
Best cup of coffee I’ve had in a long time! The pear spice latte is so good! That first sip of foam is beyond words! Absolutely delicious
I'm their fan for the past 5 years: consistently perfect lattes and affogatos deserving full 5 stars and great baked goods for a morning breakfast along Marina Green with SF Bay views. Lately their online ordering is repeatedly down, and that's super-frustrating because the live lines there are horrible, so I really wanted to remove 1 star, but I just can't.
We were hesitant to visit after reading reviews of how slow their service was. I managed a coffee shop and have been a barista for years so I have high expectations when it comes to coffee shops. They exceeded my expectations! So friendly, fast, and amazing coffee blends.
Great coffee, great views - I would grab one here and walk along the Marina Green after.
This place is so nice and the staff is even nicer. My phone had died and i needed to call someone urgently and the staff let me use a phone. They were so incredibly sweet and I hope they know how grateful I am for their help. The coffee was great too and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice little spot to enjoy a drink and a nice atmosphere. 💜💜
Equator coffees are the best!! The service, the owners, the quality of coffee drinks - all as good as it gets.
This was by far the best coffee we had in SF. Way ahead of any other coffee we tried in several places around the city. Bring some time/patience, they have a lot to do as obviously many other people prefer them too. :)
Hidden coffee house inside of an old army building at Fort Mason. I wouldn't have found them if they weren't located directly outside the off the grid food truck grounds. As their name suggests, they carry many brands and blends from South American and international sources. The coffee is high quality and the vibe is relaxed chill, especially the outside seating on a nice day. Be aware that during peak times, the wait for coffee can run from 10-20 minutes so if you see it full or if there's a line, don't come if you're in a rush. There's a great view of the water and boats which makes this an excellent place to get lost in your thoughts while sipping a latte.
Very busy on the weekends, breakfast sandwich is yummy. They have Super Food Granola bars which are tasty with high fiber.
Great espresso, Coffee and snack in a very cool, handy location. Very busy so don't be in a rush but the line does move... Lots of nice setting outdoors too!
This coffee shop has a great atmosphere and is perfect for getting some work done. It's spacious, and clean with lots of space in between tables so you can move around freely. And their coffee tastes so good with a variety of selections of coffee and foods you can choose.
The frittata sandwich is amazing and the service was great. Had a great time. Also had gluten free options which I appreciate.
I absolutely love this coffee place! The coffee is top-notch, and the baristas are always friendly and welcoming, this place is always packed because it’s so good, its worth it to wait because it’s the perfect spot to grab a cup and enjoy Fort Mason afterwards. Highly recommended!
What great service! Place looked friendly so I walked in on a whim. The barista saw I was struggling to choose something (usually not a big coffee drinker) and helped me decide. Ended up getting a Habibi latte and it was delicious! They have water to drink while you wait and tons of seating with great views. Definitely coming back when I’m in the area!
I stumbled across Equator on my way to the Golden Gate Bridge and picked up a coffee and a pastry for my breakfast to sit in front of the bridge. I opted for the Cold Brew with Cream (as an Australian knowing something of American food culture, I thought cream was fancy milk... I actually think it's just cream?? Not sure) It was still tasty, it just took me a few sips to get used to. I also got a cinnamon scroll that was smothered in delicious icing.
I really like it because one of the staffs there actively told me Habibi means sweetheart in Arabic. That was sweet of him. I was wondering what it is. And he explained it all. Of course, I did think of the name as something cute. And “habibi” who wouldn’t like it? It tastes good too. Like flowers. 🪸💐
Great spot, friendly staff. Sunday mornings are extremely busy with the farmers market
This place used to have operational problems, but now has a few employees that really care about what they’re doing. Jess is one of them. So grateful to her for solving our problem.
We visited Equator Coffees at Fort Mason after a refreshing morning run at the marina, and it was the perfect way to start our day! I highly recommend ordering online to save time, as there’s always a long queue at the coffee shop. I tried The Habibi Latte, which features a delightful blend of orange blossom, cardamom, clove, vanilla syrup, two shots of espresso, and steamed milk. It was incredibly delicious and tasty, with a unique flavor profile that I absolutely loved. Plus, you can enjoy your Habibi Latte with your habibi, making it a special experience!
Location, Staff, Hygiene all great with a good strong cup of coffee. For laptop nomads charge up your devices. ✭✭✭✭✭ Location: right in Fort Mason ✭✭✭✭✭ Atmosphere: love the outdoor space and view. ✭✭✭✭✭ F&B: great coffee, cappuccino. ✭✭✭✭✭ Non dairy options include oat milk or almond milk. VG options: carrot muffin (+wheat free) as well as banana bread. Price: drink + sweet = +/- $8 Wifi: available even outside Seating: window seats or outdoor tables Outlets: none Time limits: none Extra perk: water for dogs
I enjoyed Habibi and Lavender cafe latte 💛💜I feel the scent of flowers by holding the drinks in my mouth and that is very good with the coffee and milk. I am pleased with your decaf(but delicious !) and vegan milk option. All staffs are friendly and so kind. I parked my car at the near park, and came by walking from there.
Coffee exceptional. Excellent variety of special drinks. Multiple gluten-free bakery items. Pricing inexpensive for high-grade offerings.
Want a jolt, perhaps after an early morning walk, bike, or run along the marina. Look no further. Equator is the place to go. Just inside the Fort Mason entrance way, grab an espresso (Tigerwalk), pour over (Rwanda Nyampinga), or house blend Kenya Aberdare. A perfect way to start the day. Just awesome!!!
This must be one of the best cup of coffee we have had...A housemade vanilla latte with whole milk was so good, we had to order another one immediately. The 2 staff members there on food truck night (8-16-19) were great and will highly recommend to any coffee lovers. Heck they even sell cans of good beer there. Cool place.

Best coffee in the city. Their espresso is never bitter and they are always consistent. My go to orders are oat milk cappuccino or vanilla latte (hot and iced depending on mood) is delicious. I love this place.
Such superior coffee. We really enjoyed it. They have a sign outside saying it will be a 10 to 15 minutes wait. It is completely worth it. And there's lots of fun things to watch while you wait! Highly recommend.
Underrated. Yes they have limited options but it still does well. I mean it’s literally the only place right next to the GGB where you can walk to get coffee. Not to mention my barista did a great job at creating a picturesque cup that I was able to post on social considering I came here for the views. Who knew a cup of coffee would make the cut, while also serving my sweet tooth with an energy punch!

I’ve to say what a beautiful location this place is located at. The views are mesmerizing. The people are very friendly and their service is awesome. I got a mocha and chicken sandwich. The mocha was amazing. The chicken sandwich was also great, cold but the filling felt fresh and the sour dough was mamamia… I loved their flavor. Overall a must visit. Ps- kudos to the barista who made me a large by mistake though I ordered a smaller one.
I met up with a friend and warmed up with a drink from Equator Coffee near the Fort Mason area. I’m not much of a coffee drinker these days, so I ordered my go-to hot matcha latte. We ended up enjoying our drinks outside, which made for a nice, low-key meeting.

First of all I appreciate that this Equator Coffee opens early, which isn't common in SF. The location makes it really convenient to grab a breakfast after a morning workout/run. During my visit their espresso machine was out of order so that was a bummer but I got a delicious ham and cheese croissant which made me less sad about missing my coffee.
Delicious inexpensive coffee and love that they give you a 25 cent discount if you bring in your own cup! Only reason it's not 5 stars is I went to do some work on my laptop there and it was super cold as they had the door and windows open at 6:30am so I had to leave as my fingers got too cold.
It's definitely a grab and go. There is seating outside but the small space to wait in line tends to be packed. I got to try the specialty with a friend- it's not bitter coffee and they gave a wonderful taste to the brew which I personally loved. I would go there again as their specialities are unique and flavorful
I stopped in here for a quick breakfast and coffee, and was impressed by the very friendly and kind staff. Equator has pretty good quality coffee and food, however the food took a very long time to get. They have a very small kitchen area, and especially if it's busy can get backed up, but I wasn't in a hurry, so it didn't make too much difference. I'd stop in here again for something should I be in the area!

Decent caffe latte and cappuccino in a convenient location within Fort Mason. Caffe latte and cappuccino were average and there is a nice selection of roasted beans and other products on site. Lines move fast and patrons are treated to delightful coffee aromas while waiting in small interior space. The on site bathroom is clean. Outside seating on picnic tables with sun umbrellas is generous and the views of Golden Gate Bridge and the bay can’t be beat. Grab a cup and stroll the Marina when weather is nice for a delightful experience that locals and tourists alike will enjoy as this establishment was recommended to us by SF residents.
The coffee is delicious. However, on a Sunday afternoon when the line to order was very short, it took 20 minutes to make it after ordering. Worse, I ordered a 10 ounce latte which on the board says is $5.25 however I was charged $6.25 and still only received the 10 ounce. On top of that they expect a tip? While the coffee was good quality, the enjoyment was diminished by the experience.

I really love their drinks and the people working there are always very nice. I usually have a great experience here, but yesterday I ordered a cold brew, and when I was just about finished with it, I found a piece of hair in my cup. That’s not the biggest heath concern I know, but I was still taken aback and grossed out. I tried calling and messaging them but sadly I didn’t hear back, nor was I able reach anyone. I understand stuff like this happens, but I sort of wish I could’ve been compensated for my order.
Nice little cafe. Also the variety of the different coffee options are pretty good. Regardlessly when I was there it was a Little chaotic. Quite some coffee orders had been totally mixed up although the shop was not really full. I left after 15mins without having received my coffee order since I was so frustrated.
Beautiful spot but waited in line for 15 mins and the cashier ignored me at first, which is fine, but was slowing down the line. Then she refused to serve black coffee and said they only had americano. Black coffee seems like it should be a pretty standard thing. At a coffee shop? RE: owner/Tina below I understand things happen. I appreciate your offer of drink tickets. Equator coffee came highly recommended. However, the staff that day could have made customers' experiences better. Their behavior lilely contributed to the long wait. The baked goods display was out of array - which is understandable near closing hours on a busy Saturday, but it didn't show well. And the cashier's response was not that they had "run out" of black coffee and it would take X mins to prepare. That would have been fine. I was not in a rush. She simply refused to serve black coffee.
Visiting from E. coast and get equator delivered to my home so big fan. That said, very disappointing trip to the cafe. The pour over was out of stock, frittata, overnight oats, yogurt (basically all food items other than pastries) were also out of stock.
Mainly because the first photo is not actually that café and also the waitress stayed looming over the counter when the screen prompted if I wanted to leave a tip. This is not table service just so you know.
Great beans. I use them for espresso machine at home. Unfortunately they take online orders plus door dash and they don’t synch the app properly. A “15 minute” wait is actually over 30 minutes. Just a bit too much for a cup of coffee. I think management should seriously consider deactivating online ordering. It impacts their service and no matter how good your product is, standing around for 30 minutes for a morning cup of coffee is ridiculous.
Great venue and lots of staff members but can’t do deliver good coffee quickly like at any nyc coffee shop. It’s just like the flow is all off. Being rude and unwelcoming is an option in California but not out east. Sign greets you that after you order your order will take at least 20 min!!! Maybe they need separate process for quick serve like drip coffee.

Used to love this coffee shop. In past 6 months, I’ve had nothing but consistently poor experiences. Anything from wrong orders, rude staff, poor quality drinks to being quoted 25 mins for “anything espresso” even though there is no line and a handful of folks outside waiting for drinks. A better use of your time might be to walk to St. Frank to have a good cafe experience. Equator - I subscribe to your coffee delivery, really dig the brand and the other coffee shops, this location specifically needs a revamp. Please fix!
Equator has lost a customer today. This morning was the first morning in years I have reached for my phone to order, remembered my experience this past weekend, and ended up deleting the app. I loved Equator. I really did - in terms of their coffee. It was distinct and delicious. But the blatant, "We don't care about our customer" vibe leads so I just really can't support them anymore. The wait for a simple coffee is atrocious if you walk up. Expect to wait 10-20 minutes minimum even if there is no one else in sight. Mobile orders take precedence. The staff is so busy making coffee they really could careless about the customers. If you walk up to the window to pick up your online order (with no one around, mind you) and call out "Thanks!" They never respond. Like ever. So weird. I have tested it 11 times now and only once did someone mumble a, "yeah". This weekend I ordered a coffee around 9 am. Usually, the app tells you when the coffee will be ready prior to ordering if it is going to be longer than the 10 min standard. It didn't and when I submitted it - it said it would be a 30 minute wait. I didn't have any time for that. So I called. I let the woman know I wouldn't be picking up my coffee or if they could make one exception this time (I order all the time) and make it a bit earlier. She said no. They couldn't make one coffee in order to save a daily customer. Whatever. Good luck at Alcatraz Landing making coffees that take 10-30 minutes when people have timed ferries to catch. This is going to be a real show.
I wanted to leave a negative review for Equator Coffees. Ahead of me was a woman with her daughter who wanted to practice her English. However, the cashier, easily identified by her distinctive eyelashes, gave her a disdainful look and started speaking to her in Spanish, denying her the opportunity to practice her English. In Frisco, we often laugh about the lack of English proficiency among immigrants, but when do we actually give them a chance to practice? The gestures and actions of this cashier were inappropriate for someone in customer service. She should have been more considerate, as the lady felt embarrassed. Additionally, the Seasonal Danish had a poor taste and quality.
Good coffee but the ordering process is appalling. Online ordering through the app is disabled every time you’d reasonably except to want a coffee (this morning it’s been off between at least 8:30 and 11am). So you get there, wait in ridiculous lines only to realize that the loyalty program only works… in the app 🤦♂️ good one. How about adjusting wait times for online orders instead of disabling it when it gets busy, so people can get on with their life rather than having to come in and wait in line? Oh and while they’re prompt to disable online ordering, not so prompt to re-enable it. Countless times have I walked in to no line after peak yet ordering was still not back.
We’ve been coming here every weekend since March and not once has coffee been ready within 30 minutes of ordering. The wait is out of control and they shouldn’t be offering specialty drinks if they can’t make them in a reasonable time frame. Baristas will literally run away from you if you try to ask them how much longer your wait is! Philz Truck is a much better experience and better coffee too.
He waited until the last minute but didn't place the order.
it used to be good coffee but now the coffee is not so good anymore and i would rate it as being a terrible swill. i would also avoid buying any of the bagged coffee, at the cafe or online as it may be old and moldy, some of it made us sick. the curated subscriptions are also now a bit of a scam as you will likely receive the same olds, the bulk oldest and cheapest, over and over again.
Equator used to be great. Always delicious coffee and great service. In the past six months every experience is a disaster. Drinks have been consistently made incorrectly (e.g. a matcha latte and cafe latte made with water) and ridiculously long wait times (no line, no one around, but a 25 minute wait for a drink). It also seems the staff has been entirely replaced and are now rude and dismissive (blaming the customer for their mistakes in making drinks incorrectly).
The place is not set up to take multiple orders. Avoid at all costs. Took over 20 min for a hot chocolate. Barista said it's not uncommon to wait 20-40 minutes for drinks on the weekend. Unreal...
Service is the worst. And unfortunately it's not the first time, simply the last drop. Online order was not ready due to system failure (not their fault?) then they mixed up the in-person order, had to redo it and amazingly done it wrong again as I've learned later bringing it home. And through that they didn't bother to apologize and couldn't care less. We've all seen bad days but this is beyond a single accident and it's sad, could have been a nice place.
Be careful if you pay with your phone. If your phone is in your hand before you've selected the tip option, the machine will automatically add a $1 tip and the sale will automatically go through, without you being able to do anything. I imagine that to avoid this, you need to keep your phone in your pocket/purse, make your selection on the tip page, and only after that take your phone out. Orders are also frequently wrong- wrong size, wrong milk, but the worst is that half the time (or more) that I order decaf, they give me caffeine. Been going here for a decade and I'm over it.
Tourist and foreigners beware!!! Great coffee but morally dubious staff. I've come back to the city after a few months and stopped by to grab two coffees priced $5.50 each. I got charged $22 and as always I left a tip thinking to myself that the prices in the city have really got steep. Then I looked at the price board and realized my coffee was still 5.50 just like last year. I inquired about my order and was refunded and reassured "Thanks for catching that out" (by the way still no refund on my account). I just find it hard to believe that the person taking my order and repeating it to me for confirmation wasn't aware of what they were doing - they charging me twice as much ASSUMING I WAS EITHER A TOURIST OR A FOREIGNER. I know you want your business to thrive and probably have no personal financial benefit from what you were trying to do, but, for a business and employees who try to pronounce and embrace such customer-friendly and human-friendly values, you should really be embarrassed at your hypocrisy. It saddens me to write this because I have been a loyal and tipping customer, but I want others, especially tourist, to be cautious and alert since they get such a raw deal in the city being vulnerable to so much street crime targeting them in particular. And, now, they have to be vigilant even in a popular coffee place...
Nice place, nice staff, but the brewed coffee was absolutely disgusting, completely undrinkable. It tasted like drinking burned coffee grounds. Horrendous. Given this is a coffee place whose primary purpose is to serve coffee, giving it anything but 1 start would communicate to people that you can drink coffee here. Based on my experience, you can't.
So unfortunate that this place cannot just figure it out. The coffee is good, but the service is absolutely terrible. Ordering on their app is a waste of time. I’m glad they introduced a time for when your coffee would be ready. However, the time is totally irrelevant. They have told me it would take 25 minutes to prepare my coffee, and when I arrived 25 minutes later, it was not even in the lineup yet I asked on the status and the gentleman preparing coffee told me that it would be a while. I mentioned that I ordered on the app which estimated 25 minutes and he said that the orders That came in person were elevated. Long story short, asked for a refund because I was unable to wait before I needed to get to work. It is a broken process and system and not sure when I will see my refund.
i was here around 12:30 on november 3rd and while i was waiting for my coffee saw a barista made to cover their shirt just because it said “palestine” on it; obviously i don’t know all the details but i watched and listened for a while. the barista seemed frustrated and i felt for them. i hope that employee gets an apology and whoever complained reflects on why just the word “palestine” upsets them so much and how wrong it is to make a palestinian employee literally hide their heritage!
Coffee is fine but 25 minute wait for an iced americano is ridiculous
This is great coffee, but they have totally lost track of the ordering process. 15min wait for a coffee order? That’s fine. But being told 15 and then taking 30min?? Come on. Manage your line better. Overwhelmed by orders? Take fewer. But mostly just be honest. This is insane, as is waiting for in person orders on front of a table on not picked up phone/web orders.
The staff taking the order was polite and friendly, but the experience quickly went downhill when it came to the food preparation and service. One staff member in particular — a man with a mustache and curly hair — was extremely rude and unprofessional. When my sandwich was ready, he threw it onto the table without saying a word, showing zero respect or basic courtesy. His attitude was completely unacceptable and left a very negative impression. No matter how good the food is, this kind of behavior ruins the entire experience.
I don’t usually write reviews, but this time I had to… I have been going to Equator Coffees for years and this is the first time that I’ve been disappointed by Equator Coffees on Marina Blvd. I go to all locations all over the Bay regularly. I don’t mind dealing with the long wait, high prices or the fact that they make online orders for drinks before customers who are physically there because I enjoy the quality and tastiness of the drinks. Every location I have been to has always taken orders until closing time. Closing time is 5 PM, we arrived at 4:40 pm and they stopped taking drink orders at that time. They wouldn’t even serve us iced drinks that weren’t from the espresso machine. If Equator Coffees has a policy that dictates that they don’t serve customers 20 minutes before closing time then they should post it on the website, as well as on Google and other sites so that we don’t waste our time going to your coffee shop, and we can go somewhere else.
Please cover your delivery orders so they don’t spill during transportation. I received two very sticky cups 75% full. Label the orders so when we get multiples of the same item with slight modifications we can determine who’s latte belongs to who.
Half an hour of my life, and my family’s day, I will never get back. I’m happy to wait in line for coffee and get that coffee behind the folks ahead of me. What Equator doesn’t tell you is you’re screwed— all the invisible platform orders take priority over the actual chumps who walk in. No apologies or explanation. They got my money for a coffee I never drank because, at a certain point, you have to walk away. This is the definition of a service model gone sour.
