I was blown away with how tasty the food was in this restaurant. Our group ordered quite a few things on the menu. I tried everything and loved every single item. I have never had Peruvian food before so I have no point of reference for Peruvian food. But…I’ve been eating food my whole life so I am what is known as an expert eater. The food at Franco’s was objectively amazing! I’m so glad I went here and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!!!
Everything was delightful, from the wonderful service to the amazing tasty food. El pollo en brasa without doubt is a dish worth trying, never tried chicken like this but definitely now it's one of my favorite dishes! :)
Definitely worth the trip if you're local and wasn't a change of pace in your food. Their alcoholic drinks are pretty good too. I would suggest coming early and paying for parking because after 6pm parking is difficult.
Surprisingly tasty!! I’m not a steak lover, but all of a sudden, I craved one today, so I just went to a place near my house for the first time. It was surprisingly delicious, and it put me in a great mood.✨
The food was very tasty and the portion sizes aren't too small! I hear it gets busy for dinner, but it wasn't too busy at lunchtime. We got: Tacos Birria- Absolutely to die for. The braised meat was so tender and juicy Pupusas- Very good, not too greasy, and the pickled veggies were fresh and crunchy Fried plantains- cooked well, not too greasy or soggy
Outdoor seating, great service and delicious food. I’ve been here twice, one for brunch and once for dinner. I had the pork, my friend had the beef and it was on point! Cocktails are nice with a good kick, quick and efficient. A good mix of Latin food, come try out all the different items and support local small business and restaurants!
What a surprise! I never knew that this restaurant existed! Ive been eating on West Portal for 15 years and going to Peets (3 doors down) and the hardware store since .... 2002? I never saw this place. Well, my wife was in the mood for Peruvian food. I suppose it's because we just returned from Machu Picchu a few months ago. I was like..... "where are we going?" I didn't know what to expect nor was I expecting much when I arrived. After all, just a few months ago I was eating amazing Peruvian food. I was surprised at the quality of the food. Not only was it delicious, but it was presented beautifully. The restaurant is very nice and clean. The staff is professional and courteous. It was the perfect evening.
Such great food here! I liked almost everything I tried. Starters were ceviche with a side of fried plantains, beef empanadas, and crab cream-stuffed tequenos. But the star of the show was the pescado a lo macho, a whole fried fish with delicious, creamy seafood stew and rice, which I would have devoured entirely if I hadn't mistakenly stuffed myself with appetizers. The paella was good as well, and a lot of things coming out of the kitchen smelled amazing. Prices for entrees are high, but the servings are also large, so you can split with someone or eat for a couple of meals. Definitely a good spot with good service if you are craving a tasty meal from the other side of the world.
It's delicious and the food is Instagram pretty level. One of my favorite restaurant in West Portal. Service is excellent. Highly recommended.

Excellent food!! We'll definitely be back.
Food was super fresh im not from town so need to hype up.chef was focused the flavors popped off the plate great local gem #supportlocal
Pan grilled fish (I think trout) is excellent and not on the lunch menu but they will make it for you if you ask nicely. :) friendly place and quiet for talking. Perfect for business lunch or catching up.
I came here on a friend's recommendation and really enjoyed the food for brunch. We ordered delicious drinks like the Inka Mimosa Cava and the homemade Chicha Morada. For food, I ordered the Ceviche Chino (ahi tuna, ponzu, wonton chips) and my husband got the huevos rancheros. Both were very tasty. The service wasn't the most attentive. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and the staff stuck to the bar most of the time. The place has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and is good for groups.

Outdoor seating is available along Portola - in direct sunlight which will be good when it starts to get cooler, and they offer umbrellas next to the tables for those who prefer not to be in the sun. The service was attentive and thoughtful and everything we ordered was tasty. The Chicharron de Pollo is like lopcorn chicken - nice texture and pairs nicely with the sauce. Definitely a cozy place to enjoy some good peruvian food. 👌🏽
Enjoyed the fresh and tasty Peruvian food and sangria. Portions are good size and really liked the many seafood dishes (fish dish I had kept the head on which I don't at all mind) which included a lot of seafood variety. Fried chicken starter hard to go wrong. Flan dessert had a nice custard texture and not over sweetened, the way I like it.
Food is good but not good as I expected. They used to have a delicious vegetarian specialty (the quinoa dish) and when I went last time they told me that they did no have it anymore, at least at Fresca in West portal. Also, the sauce of the yuca is too spicy. The fried plantain is good and desserts too, specially the alfajores :).

lomo saltado had great seasoning but there were 80% potatoes compared with 20% steak Lamb chops was not as good as before, too much fat and not enough seasoning. Also smashed potato not as creamy and tasty as before
Eating here was really a treat. I started off with the plantain chips and the plantains. Both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Then I had the chicken stew dish with rice and that was also amazing and so hearty that I could only eat half of it. The service was fantastic, and the restaurant was a fun place to eat at.

Once we arrived I felt like I’d been here before, and I was right, the restaurant used to be Fresca. Both restaurants are Peruvian food after all. The place seemed to get busy later than expected for a Sunday night and seemed to be a lot of neighborhood folks coming in that hadn’t been in a while. Over all the menu and food was similar to that of Fresca, just trimmed down menu, which I find better to keep ingredients fresher. Food was decent over all as we did clean our plates, service seemed like they needed just one extra bus boy. Didn’t get a refill on water until we asked for the check. Good for neighborhood spot but not enough for me unfortunately.

Great neighborhood, nice cozy atmosphere, the food looked nice but was just ok, hence the 2 stars and the service was slightly confusing like they weren't on the same page.
The food and service were good. I would like to comment on the fact that it was really cold in there. It's been a cold December. When I asked if they could turn up the heat the waitress told me "there is no heat" That's a huge blot on the place.

I was excited to try this place 😳but it was a big disappointment. I tried the chicha morada first, I mentioned to the waiter that it was very sour and bitter but instead of apologizing and offer something to replace my drink he said “No it’s not bad, the drink is fresh and it’s sour because they added too much lemon, here’s the menu if you want to order a different drink“ he then turned around and left…… he didn’t attempt to apologize and instead he gave me an attitude…. I ordered a Arroz con mariscos and it had enough seafood but the rice they used was a broken rice instead of a decent one…. We also ordered picarones (see picture) and it was burnt and the dough had no flavor 😱 but the bus boy was more attentive and had a better attitude than the waiter.
We came here because it had good Google reviews, here is my review. Food was blah and service was awful. The hostess and the waiter were not friendly at all. We ordered: - Tequeños, they were okay - Lomo Saltado, more than half of the dish was onion, and it was $24 - Ceviche Mixto, I couldn’t eat it. It didn’t have any flavor so I asked for salt and spicy sauce, it was still blah and they charged $2 for 1 spoon of spicy salsa. The waiter asked if I was expecting a Mexican ceviche and I said no. I just was expecting it to have a good taste. Total we payed almost $70 and left hungry to a next door restaurant.
