Stopped by after dropping off a friend at airport. Guacamole 🥑 was fresh with great added flavor. The shrimp 🍤 enchilada WOW. Amazing flavors that cream was over the top. The only thing I didn’t like what the too tall stools lol 😂 don’t you hate that!
Great place to bring friends, family or even a date. Most of the food and drinks my friends and I ordered were delicious. The only entree that I didn't enjoy was their fajitas, they were under seasoned and lacked flavor. Definitely have to order the calamari, that red sauce is soo good 😁. The Al Pastor torta was packed with flavor and the fried chicken nachos were different in a good and delicious way. Service was good, but keep in mind that the restaurant is on the small side so there may be a bit of a wait for larger parties. Definitely coming back again!
Nachos with beans of choice, guacamole, sour cream, Pico di.., Grilled shrimp, tomatoes, cremation, cilantro, onions, yum.
I cannot recommend this place enough! I live for Mexican food so I've tried many Mexican restaurants and this one takes the cake. The food was delicious, it was so rich in flavor. Everything we tried was really good, we were all impressed. We ate here twice during our 3-day stay in San Francisco. The staff was also very kind! We will be returning!
Chicken Fajitas (white meat) are outstanding!! And trust me on this one , I’ve been too hundreds of placing in search for good fajitas , and this one is definitely in my top 2 , try it try it. You will love it. Restaurant is located in a little funky neighbourhood, go and explore it.
This is a colorful and vibrant Mexican Cantina with Subtle French influence and an emphasis on well presented, organic Mexican dishes. Recommended if you're looking for a sit down Mexican fare that tastes upscale but has more of a local authentic vibe. A huge plus here is the friendly service, the abundant and safe parking, and the amazing food. Free chips and 3 salsas is also a bonus! I highly recommend their margaritas as well as the short rib tacos. We were blown away by the braised short rib tacos as they were absolutely perfect. It also appears that the fajitas here are worth ordering. The servers were passing these out left and right and the smell of fire grilled steak and vegetables filled the restaurant. It was really a great experience. Highly recommended if you want a casual vibe and amazing food but want something a little more inviting and healthy than your typical Bay Area taqueria.
Excellent Mexican food! Great ambience with both indoor and outdoor seating! Staff are attentive and service is super friendly. I tried their Al Pastor and Carne Asada (pork) tortas. Loved them! Food was delicious, juicy and flavorful. The portion size is great too. Definitely a great place!
I can highly recommend this restaurant. It is delicious, its taste is exquisite, the portions are large and at a very good price. The experience is unique and the service is always very friendly. I recommend the super burrito with. Carnitas and Elote is incredibly delicious.
Heard a lot of good reviews prior to dining here and it was certainly worth the hype! Amazing food with a cozy setting. The sangria is also a must!!!
Just sat down. First time eating here for lunch. Very happy with the space so far! The staff is very polite and welcoming. I’ll update about the food. . . Okay, Food update: it’s fantastic! Very tasty bites. I got a Shrimp platter that was really good. I was surprised at all the flavors. My colleague had cheese enchiladas that looked great, and he said it was wow. Enjoy this place! Cheers.
Enjoyed the vegetarian options. The quesadillas were one of the best I've ever had, and were loaded with veggies. The enchiladas and queso fundido were also good. I got the enchiladas with both red and green salsa but I liked the green more. The portions are quite large and those three items is excess for 2.
The red pozole was so tasty! Definitely worth trying!
Excellent Mexican food. They start you with three salsas and chips, which are delicious. I had a carnitas super burrito, also very good. Friendly staff and a very attractive interior. They have a full bar as well. Definitely the place to for Mexican classics if you're on the north side of Protrero Hill.
Give this place a try. I loved the atmosphere. It was dimly lit inside, and there was outside seating too. The servers were very friendly, and attentive. The duck meat torta I had was amazing, my wife didn't like the grilled chicken wet burrito she ordered, it I thought it was really good. I recommended her to get a chicken torta to go, and she loved that. My son also got a beef torta which he loved too. Try the torta, you won't be disappointed.
The food was excellent! We got 2 burritos & they were very flavorful we will be returning & i highly recommend! You will not be disappointed
The pizza is absolutely delicious, with a perfectly crispy crust, rich sauce, and generous toppings that make every slice satisfying. The casual, old-school atmosphere gives the place so much character and makes it feel authentically San Francisco. It’s a great spot to gather with friends, grab a beer, and enjoy a relaxed, no-frills dining experience.
Classic San Francisco neighborhood spot for sourdough pizza and family dinner vibes. The highlight for me is the crust. Their signature sourdough is what makes the pizza a total standout—it’s tangy, crunchy, and sets up the whole pie perfectly. I always recommend going for one of their specialty options; the Hilda’s Favorite (pesto and goat cheese) is one of my favorites, but I'm also a fan of the porky pie (with whole roasted garlic cloves and bacon).. My biggest tip? If you can handle the crowd, check out their legendary All-You-Can-Eat Monday night. Just be warned, you’ll probably have to wait awhile to get seated, but it’s a fun, chaotic tradition.
The staff was super nice to us. They use sourdough pizza so even after eating 3 big slices my stomach didn’t get upset. Reasonably priced according to San Francisco standards.
Love coming here after discovering last year on a visit to SF. Amazing pizzas and the service has been stellar both times. The staff is great and so is the ambience at this location. The summer breeze from the bay coming through the open windows makes this a downright zen experience!
Classic SF pizza joint with great sourdough pizza. We ordered two cheese slices, and one came out pep. The chef served us up a third cheese slice to fix it before we even realized our order was different. This is a great outing for a chill family dinner on a weeknight, after a baseball game, or if you just want to grab a quick bite. I love the kids drawings of goat hill pizza throughout too.
This is one of those places that I consider old school San Francisco, a neighborhood gem and one I wish will never go away and stay just the way it is. I've been going to this place since the early 80's, in my college years, through working various jobs in the city and living in different neighborhoods, and now into the latter years. Its food is good in all regards, a reliable standard, the staff friendly and the facility remains in good order after all these years. So perhaps it isn't just the food, the staff and the restaurant, but in the aspect that it also holds a lot of good memories from the past with old friends and previous dates, it's precious in that way for me. Keep on rockin' Goat Hill Pizza, they don't make restaurants like you anymore.
Utterly fantastic little hidden gem of a pizzeria. The staff is beyond friendly and genuinely love their pizza and their customers. The pizza itself is out of this world and I tried the buffet which gives you access to one hot slice after another. This is a must do Monday only tradition. The crust is a perfectly crisp sourdough and toppings and all ingredients are of the highest quality. Why are you even reading this! Go out and eat here now! Parking is very easy. Especially for SF. Safe neighborhood.
The only pizza 🍕 I order in SF is Goat Hill. Like their sourdough crust. Like their recently online order system, very user friendly. During the pandemic, we always ordered their pizza to support a small business. At that time, they were very friendly with excellent service. Now maybe they’re too busy I don’t know, feel they’re a bit different. It’s a bit expensive but it’s worth it.
Goat Hill Pizza is a local sourdough based pizza shop woth tons of toppings choices. Their full pizzas are about medium size and their prices are quite high for what it is, so it feeds maybe 2 people for mid-$20's. Their staff is super friendly in here, solid with recommendations. They make their pizza in a pretty good time frame, always fresh. To be honest most SF pizza is pretty terrible but this is probably one of the better ones around.
Delicious sourdough pizza! We've ordered takeout several times and it's always excellent. If you eat in on Monday's it's called community night which is like Brazilian Steakhouse style all you can eat. This format is nice because they cut the slices small so you can try all different types; I had eight or nine different slices! The staff was super friendly.
Papito in San Francisco is a cozy, welcoming spot with a menu that balances flavor, freshness, and creativity. The overall service was attentive and friendly, making the dining experience smooth from start to finish. The staff checked in often enough to make sure everything was good, but without being overbearing, which always makes a difference. When it comes to the food, everything we tried was impressive. I had the Vegetariano, which was hearty, flavorful, and satisfying without being too heavy — a great choice for anyone looking for a tasty meat-free option. The chicken tacos were another favorite, perfectly seasoned and well-portioned, not greasy or overloaded with toppings. Their quesadillas stood out as well: they had the right amount of cheese and filling, balanced and not overly stuffed, which kept them delicious without feeling overwhelming. The drinks complemented the food perfectly. The spicy mango drink had just the right kick of heat to balance the sweetness, making it super refreshing and unique. Along with a few beers, the overall mix kept the meal fun and flavorful. Papito does a great job of keeping things authentic yet approachable, offering a dining experience that feels both elevated and casual. Between the good service, satisfying food, and unique drink options, it’s definitely a spot worth revisiting when craving Mexican food in the city
I came here with a friend with no reservation and got seated right away! Food here has a real Good: - Great customer service - lots of smiles for us and lots of great checking from the staff on how we were doing - The enchiladas were huge and were decent - I got the mole and chicken one - chicken was a little dry Bad: - Food was alright - wasn't the best I've ever had - Really casual diner feel Overall enjoyed the meal, the portion sizes were great and I enjoyed the experience.
Had a team lunch here Cool hole in the wall type, neighborhood restaurant Limited street parking Good size dining room Full bar Attentive staff Great decor Good menu to look thru When you walk in, you this hang out vibe...then you look left and see this large bar and you're like, time to hang out. Lol Foodwise, mite not be what you really want to eat as compared to where you usually go for mexican food but at the same time there is a lot to choose from their menu....and their presentation and food portions will totally make you a fan...and to top it off, it tastes good!
Delicious pizza! I ordered a half & half pizza for take-out. Tried Hilda’s favorite and Veggie combo as half and half. Pizza was piping hot when I went to pick up, which is good so that the pizza was at the right temperature by the time I reached home. I loved Hilda’s favorite. The pesto and goat cheese were extremely fresh and we can feel the juiciness of the toppings. Veggie combo was good too. The ingredients they used were fresh and flavorful. The price is a bit a high when you compare with other pizza places. I spent 43$ for a large pizza excluding tip. However, I totally enjoyed the pizza, so all worth it at the end.
We did take out and everything was soggy. Quesadillas re-crisping efforts in a frying pan worked ok, “crunchy” tacos could not be salvaged. And queso fundido was like eating solid cheese, looks and tastes nothing like fundido should. I think that item was the most disappointing.
This is unbelievalble - in short the worst Mexican food I ever had in SF (and probably anywhere). I have never written a 1* review beofore. 1) despite almost an hour time between when I put my order in and it not being an 'asap' order but timed - I got there 7 min late becasue parking was hard and the food was not ready - it was another 10 min wait 2) I only live about 5 min away and at home the food was barely warm (so probably it had been sitting there for whatever reason) - also the taco's were very soggy 3) what's up with the pineapple? it's in everything 4) the food (tacos pastor, tacos carnitas) had very little flavor, the quesadillas carnitas was also super soggy. The tacos papa con chorizo was ok. Never again!
