10 STARS! The presentation made me ooo and ahhh, the meat plate do a happy dance and the warm baklava brought tears to my eyes. It was all so so good!! Best food I’ve had on this trip. This San Francisco restaurant is a gem. Bring your loved ones here in 2026. It is one of those places where I would love to eat again! Added bonus, they have nice TV screens and we’re happy to show the Olympics. Wonderfully kind efficient staff. Place was quiet on a rainy Tuesday right after opening. Lovely part of town. Some of the best Mediterranean food! The food was super fresh. Loved everything from the beef and lamb gyro plate to the warm pita bread and delicious dips! Jose and Serhat, the waiters, were also super attentive and kind in making sure I was comfortable. They also offered me to tried their baklava dessert, which was also incredibly fresh, flaky, warm - delicious! Overall, would recommend this restaurant for quality food and service!
This restaurant is awesome! Me and my boyfriend had a really great time on Valentine’s Day. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. The owner is really kind and he even gave our dog chicken as treats. It’s definitely worth trying in north beach and the atmosphere is so cozy and romantic. I like the fish and the soup, they’re fantastic Mediterranean food!!! Baklava is amazing, definitely worth trying as authentic Turkish desserts:))
The restaurant was truly very clean and hygienic. You can immediately notice the organization and attention to detail as soon as you walk in. The tables, service area, and overall atmosphere were well-maintained and spotless. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and professional. We felt comfortable and valued throughout our visit. The food was absolutely delicious. The presentation was impressive, and it was clear that fresh ingredients were used. The flavors were well-balanced and very satisfying. The service was fast, and the staff were always helpful and kind. Overall, we were very pleased with both the quality of the food and the excellent service. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.
Absolutely phenomenal! This was easily the best Mediterranean meal I’ve had in San Francisco and I’ve eaten at a lot of places. The flavors were fresh, rich, and perfectly balanced. I ordered the duck, and it was so good I didn’t leave a single crumb on the plate. The owner was hilarious and genuinely friendly, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell he really cares about his food and his guests. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and the service was fast without feeling rushed. If you’re anywhere near the area, this place is a must-try. It’s the kind of spot you leave already planning your next visit.
Lovely, calm space despite the fact that it’s on Union & Columbus. Tables are generously spaced out, lighting is calming, music is spot on. It was just a great vibe. Jose was a fantastic server! I had all vegetarian food and it was great. Falafel are large and perfectly fried, served on a bed of (lentil?) green purée with a few pomegranate seeds and mint leaves. Those are not just garnishes - actually the dish could use even more pomegranates and eating them with the falafel is delicious. Best falafel I’ve had in the city. Pita and rice were delightfully simple and high quality. Warm baklava was the best I’ve ever had. Don’t skip that. Very impressed and will return soon to try more items! Great for romantic dinners, nice little solo meal out and a great place to take your parents when they’re visiting. The sign outside does not reflect the experience.

Amazing!! What a wonderful experience! My oldest son and I were referriwd here by a botanist SF city worker that we met near the market. The food, the atmosphere, the wait staff, and the owner are absolutely incredible. Highly recommend stopping here for meal, drinks, and feeling like you’re family. Will definitely be back when return to this wonderful city.
Great food and service! Our server Shadi was great. The owner is a very friendly guy that went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome. The protein bomb was so good and had delicious sauces, and the meats full of flavor. Definitely worth trying!

Came here originally when I was waiting for my partner to get off work right when they opened — some places feel awkward as a solo diner but they made me feel right at home! I just got a small Greek salad and house Cabernet, thinking it would be an average snack, but was so impressed by the quality of the house wine and the DELICIOUS salad! The high quality feta, veggies, and dressing demolished my expectations. Brought my partner here bar hopping tonight and repeated the wine, he got a Trumer Pils, and we “snacked” (turned out to be more like feasted, amazing deal for the price) on the Chef Roni’s Mezze Platter. We quite literally scraped the plate clean, I even ate the mint leaf garnishes as every drop on the plate was that good! I only write reviews when it is one of the best experiences I’ve had, and this place 100% earned that title. The service was equally spectacular, they told us to think of this like our other home and we felt it genuinely. Can’t recommend enough!

I was looking for a restaurant to enjoy a wholesome meal before I travelled, and I was SO BLESSED to find North Beach Gyros on Google maps! I originally came to grab a chicken gyro to go, but when I arrived and met the staff and reviewed the menu, the ambiance enveloped me and drew me to dine in. The deco is modern/chic with tea lamps on each table with a romantic atmosphere; perfect for dinner with the family or a first date. Apo the owner and Sehrat, the gentleman who served me, were amazing, attentive, humble and kind. And the food? DELICIOUS! I don’t like bread too much, but the fresh, warm pita bread that was served with my lentil soup melted in my mouth. The Lentil Soup was flavorful, light, creamy and so refreshing! I also enjoyed a grilled Salmon Wrap and it was DELICIOUS! Not to mention the home made Green Hummus! This was next level cooking! I was SO EXCITED that I found various vegan dishes to surprise my daughter with: the Lentil Soup; the Falafel Appetizer, and the Grape Leaves Dolma. The Pistachio Baklava is SO DELICIOUS! Thank you! 😍 For the 5-Star Food, Service and ambiance, if you visit San Francisco, and especially if you live here, you are doing yourself a disservice if you have not yet enjoyed North Beach Gyros… this restaurant IS SO MUCH MORE… maybe it’s time to upgrade the name! We had an amazing experience here. We ordered the grilled branzino, which I highly recommend, it was incredibly flavorful, served hot, with grilled lemons and crispy skin. We also had the Mesopotamia kebab, which came with hummus and tzatziki sauce, and it was delicious as well. I recommend getting the kebab/skewer over the gyro meat since it was cooked perfectly! The service was outstanding, and we were lucky to have Jose. He was attentive, kind, and truly tied the whole experience together. The restaurant also has a great ambiance. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting!

The cilantro sauce served on the side added a fresh and flavorful touch that elevated the dish even more. The falafel wrap was also good, solid and satisfying. Overall, North Beach Gyro is a nice casual spot for a flavorful and filling meal, especially if you enjoy wraps done right. A bit more attention to restroom cleanliness would make the experience even better.

Outstanding food & service! Visited from Boston; my brother and I picked this place with no expectations. We were very welcomed and accommodated as guests, not just customers. Specifically, the dolma was heavenly, almost bringing me to tears. I can confidently say that most of the recipes are a great representation of their rich gastronomic tradition.
Apo is the man’s name that welcomed us in. So friendly and inviting. We had never been here before but he treated us as if we’ve known each other forever. The food!!!! Absolutely amazing. Wow. The grilled branzino here is next level! Super fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. Crispy skin, juicy inside—honestly, I didn’t expect this level of quality from a gyro spot. North Beach Gyros surprised me in the best way possible. I’ll definitely be coming back just for this dish.

Such a fantastic Greek restaurant! The chicken burro wrap and the beef and lamb wrap were absolutely delicious. Both full of flavor and perfectly cooked. This review is for Oct 4th 2025. We were visiting the city for my birthday and needed a place that could meet my vegan needs, and that the rest of the fam would like. We found North Beach Gyros, and I'm happy we did! The service was amazing! The owner was so kind, talkative, and helped us decide what to order. The food took a bit long, but I think it's because they make everything fresh. An appetizer came out, I think it was Greek yogurt and then had veggie domas on top. The domas were good, I typically don't like them. They had a couple vegan options on the menu as well as a number of vegetarian items. My family ordered a fish dish, lamb chop or flank, rice, gyro with chicken. It all looked really good. My family loved it, nothing got taken home, it was all finished. My dish was an eggplant dish, it was delicious! The kids even loved it. One order of fries is large enough to share FYI. I definitely want to go back. The owner brought us decaffeinated warm tea and a baklava to share, it was DELICIOUS! It was a Saturday and they had live music, it was a nice atmosphere. The decor is nice, modern, very clean. Tables are set nicely. Very well priced, especially for what you get. We got lucky and got free street parking since it was after 6 p.m. we read there is a parking garage in walkable distance.
SO GOOD! it was my first time trying Mediterranean cuisine, but it was absolutely the best. The service was excellent and the food was superb. The location and scenery is amazing as well (right in front of the church) - I would highly recommend whether you’re someone living here or a tourist! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

If you want real Mediterranean done right, head to North Beach Gyros. Everything I tried was made from scratch: tender gyro meat, bright salads, creamy hummus, and flaky, buttery baklava. The portion sizes are impressively generous for San Francisco, and the atmosphere is cozy without being pretentious. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home; they’re attentive and always happy to explain the menu or offer suggestions. Highly recommend the mixed grill. Great food, great service, great overall experience.
The branzino was absolute class. The chips were perfectly crispy and seasoned; possibly the best I’ve had. There was salmon salad with a divine lemon and olive oil dressing however, it was finished before I was able to grab a photo. Divine experience and service from both the owner and staff. 5 earned stars.
