I lost track of how many times I said “mmm” while eating this meal! My server was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. He had great suggestions. After taking my order, he returned with a complimentary snack that was pickled red pepper and I think cabbage. I wanted to try 2 different types of hummus, so I got the smaller side portions of the Jaffa hummus with pine nuts, and the Muhammara hummus. OMG, the Jaffa version is the best hummus I’ve ever had outside of the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv! It’s delicious and airy, and next time I will get a huge portion of just that. I had never tried Muhammara before and it did not disappoint. It’s very flavorful with a little bit of sweet, heat, tangy & savory flavors. It came with crunchy pita strips. I ordered extra white pita bread for my dips, and highly recommend it. It was soft and also identical to what I enjoyed in Israel. Near the floor by many tables were outlets, which made charging phones or devices easy for tourists. The meal was pricy, but worth it for me as a treat.
Very delicious place! I found it accidentally and I wish more people knew about it. They have lots of food options including healthy ones! Also, the place is very clean and lots of seating! Joseph was very attentive and helpful!
Wanted to find something healthy and popped across this suggestion on Yelp. All the photos looked delicious and the descriptions of the food on the menu was exactly what we were looking for. Service was quick, atmosphere was calm and lovely, I really enjoyed the music! So glad we stopped in, will for sure be going back! Only thing “bad” was my Shashuka was on the sweet side. It’s normally a savory dish, the spicy part of it was perfect and the eggs were cooked perfectly, just sad I couldn’t finish my tomatoes. I’m thinking a lot of people cannot handle tomato acidity so this would be good for them. It’s just not my personal preference. I also had the Greek salad with chicken, DELICIOUS! And the Turmeric Herbal tea was just what I needed after a long day of flying. I was so happy they had cucumber and carrots options to eat with their DELICIOUS hummus! Like I said before, so excited to return one day.
Something I really missed. Wonderful humus with need and Sabich. Goldstar beer and compliment cabbage are gorgeous. We also have taken Malabi to go. Which appeared amazingly delicious.
Great experience! We really enjoyed this Mediterranean–Israeli style restaurant. The food was delicious and well presented, with a modern twist on classic flavors. The architecture and interior design are sleek and contemporary, creating a great atmosphere. Service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that we would happily recommend.

The hummus with chopped chicken on top was absolutely delicious. The texture was extremely creamy, almost like mousse, and the flavor was rich and authentic, just like in some of the best hummus places in Israel. I’ve been to Israel and know the food well, and this is the real experience! The salad as a starter was also very fresh and tasty, and the pita bread was soft, warm, and clearly freshly made. The service was very friendly and attentive, making the visit pleasant from start to finish. The only small downside for me was that the price felt a bit high for this type of street food, but despite that (it's San Francisco after all), I would definitely come again.
I was craving a little savory food in the afternoon so I Just had a small order of paprika hummus with a couple pita to go. The hummus was unctuous with zero bitterness as should be, with a tasty drizzle of oil. The red sauce wasn’t too spicy with good fresh flavor(didn’t try the green one). Pita were nice and warm with good elasticity and tasty. Overall Very happy and will return to try other dishes. 😊

Authentic mediterranean food, clean restaurant thats good value for the city. As you might expect, the Hummus and Pita is what they specialize in. A solid choice for value oriented table service mediterranean.
Came here for lunch before going next door to SFMOMA. Good and fresh foods. The amba sauce in the Pita Sabich sandwich…is interesting (good thing I had it on the side) but really like the freshness of the ingredients. Best of all, you can request for gluten-free pita. The Garlic Feta Fries are excellent too.
guys this is literally one of my fav places in san francisco!! literally THE best hummus and pita you will find in the bay. def recommend the classic or jaffa hummus + cauliflower and seeet potato fries! also portions sizes are generous and i always have leftovers :) they have two diff types of falafel (both of which are so good). the staff is super friendly and helpful! also very cute ambiance and they also have bathrooms! 10/10 would recommend
The hummus here is very unique with some excellent flavors. I especially enjoyed the hot sauces as well. I had the whole wheat pita, but there are other options including gluten free. Service was fast and friendly!
Exceptional in every way. I’ve only ordered from them on door dash until this visit, it’s all delicious but the ambiance and broader selection is even better in-person. I loved the traditional and Romanian eggplant. Their coffee is amazing. And the usual dishes tasted even better when delivered fresh. But if you can’t make it to the restaurant, don’t hesitate to order on door dash. I was blown away by the food.
My husband and I were seeking an authentic Israeli meal while in the downtown area and Oren’s Hummus did not disappoint! For starters, our server Nathan was a refreshing change from typical service of today - polite, smiling, and on top of it. The food was absolutely delicious. I see what all the hype is about. Flavor, presentation, and freshness … it’s all there. The hummus and pita are some of the best I have ever had. Cannot wait to come back.
Really nice inside. I tried the hummus beef and the pickled cabbage came complimentary. Both the pitas (white/wheat) were delicious along with the hummus/cabbage. I was less impressed with the bread pudding though and wouldn’t order it again. My servers Nathan and Diego were so professional and observant. Randale Conner is the manager, who was welcoming as well. I’m definitely going to recommend this place to others.
I have been to authentic Hummus restaurant in Tel Aviv, and I can attest that this place is good! The lamb was perfectly cooked with a nice charred texture. Hummus tastes fresh, a bit sour, but that’s OK. The Israeli lager was cool! Coming again.
A lovely Mediterranean restaurant with large sitting space and take out counter. I had falafel with whole wheat pita and eggplant hummus + lemonade. Everything was fantastically delicious. Portion size is good. Servers are super kind and accommodating. They also have kids menu along with high chairs (and crayons for kids). Washroom was clean as well. It's an authentic Mediterranean (Arab/Israeli) restaurant with couple other locations in Bay Area. This location in SF is maybe largest and finer one. Great variety of Mediterranean cuisine and drinks. Good selection of veggie options. There is indoor seating with separate pick up / take out section. Service was quick and responsive. Parking is a hassle in downtown SF, paid public and paid street parking available. Good for groups, kids, meetup, couples and dates.

I have been going to Oren’s Hummus in San Francisco for more than ten years now, and I always enjoyed their fresh Mediterranean food. The hummus is so creamy and full of flavor, the pita comes out warm and soft, and the toppings like beef or eggplant hit the spot every time. But our visit on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, turned into a total letdown because of the waiter named Allan. We showed up looking forward to sitting down for a meal, but right away when we asked about a table, Allan started talking to us in this really condescending way. He made a snarky comment about how long we’d have to wait, and things just got worse from there. He kept cutting us off, rolling his eyes, and acting like we were a huge inconvenience. His rude attitude built up so much that we couldn’t stand it anymore and just grabbed takeout to get out of there. It completely spoiled the experience. It’s too bad since the food is still solid, but Allan’s behavior was way out of line for a spot we’ve stuck with for a decade. The managers should really step in and train their people better, or they’re going to lose regulars like us. We won’t be heading back for a while unless something improves.
