Freebird is one of my favorite sandwiches in SF!

My go to is the twin Peaks. Nothing super fancy but delicious. They used to be slow but finally hired more staff. This place can get pretty busy. But I come here often. Check it out.

Just walked by and decided to stop in and boy am I glad I did! Delicious sandwich with fresh ingredients, perfectly toasted. You can tell it was made with care, cut all the way through (I hate when they leave you to rip it!) And securely wrapped, nothing leaked or shifted at all. Super friendly and fast service, will definitely be back!

Over two visits, I'd say I had a five star and a three star sandwich. The buffalo chicken daily special they have was fantastic. I'd love to see it on the menu permanently. But the next time I came, I tried a spicy Italian sub which was pretty mediocre.

Sandwiches are great, and I love to support a local business that's been around forever, but the wait there is unbearable most of the time. Just hope they figure out a way to better streamline the process of ordering a sandwich in store. There have been times where its been a good 25 minute wait in the shop to get 2 sandwiches made.

This is a great family owned sandwich shop that serves really good food. Their sandwiches are loaded with a good amount of meat, with good flavor. If you are in the Portola area this is the spot for lunch. The eating area is compact but there is plenty of easy parking in front.

This is my neighborhood sandwiche place. The owners know me by name as do the long time regular staff! Today, however, I received a Chocolate Tootsie Pop in my bag after specifically mentioning twice to the new counter person that I did not like the chocolate Tootsie Pops. Imagine my surprise when I came home and what was in my bag but a chocolate Tootsie Pop! One star deducted from today's visit, otherwise they usually rate five stars!

This unassuming shop offers many different options for your sandwich cravings. I've had the Lancelotti and the Joey Bagadonuts. Both were made very well and tasted delicious. The sandwiches are all toasted, too! The place is really small, with seating for less than 15 people. It's more of a grab and go, which works out well because the strip mall parking lot is metered. The folks behind the counter have always been friendly and quick with the sandwich making.

They have pretty decent sandwiches and interesting specialty ones at that. The wait always seems a little longer than it should be especially when you order over the phone and show up 15 minutes later. The kids that work here though are always nice and the food is worth the admittedly not super long time. My biggest complaint is that they always seem to be running out of bread. Kind of annoying. They usually try to make up for it though. Still all in all great (and large) sandwiches.

Can you still get a toasted scrumptious deli sandwich at a good price? Yes, yes you can! I was pleased to find how great the quality and the prices are at Pop's. The seating area is somewhat small, but getting you order to go is perfectly fine, since the parks near by are beautiful. I recommend a sandwich lunch in Glen Canyon or Mount Davidson to get you back to nature!

Service was really friendly but with no one else in the shop why would it take 20 minutes to get a sandwich made?! I ordered a pastrami so nothing fancy. Atleast it was good (other than the fact it was soggy and dripping with something while I held it), not spectacular, but definitely above average. Do yourself a huge favor, and take the extra 5 minutes to go to West Portal Subs instead. In fact, you'll probably make up the time to get there because the sandwiches show up immediately, and they taste amazingly better.

Minus 2 stars for incompetent staff burning my sandwich on two separate occasions after waiting over 35 minutes! Quality AND quantity! Pops sandwiches are the best in sf. Can't beat the value $7.99 sandwiches! I've had half the sandwich for twice the price in sf, and they still don't come close to pops. Staff is friendly unlike some of those $15 sandwiches places in the marina.

It was my first time visiting Pop's sandwiches. The sandwich was good however for the price it was very small. I bought two sandwiches and a water and it came out to $23 maybe it's normal in that area but I have been to many other locations and the sandwiches seem to be much bigger for about the same price. One thing I do know about is sandwiches they are my specialty from New York to California and all the station between

They have got some solid sandwiches overall but avoid the Corned Beef at all costs its absolutely disgusting

I’ve been here a handful of times just to fulfill my sandwich cravings. Sandwiches are fine, but the way their system is lined up makes it take up to 20 minutes for one sandwich. They prepare one sandwich at a time, from start to finish, and then begin their next order. It’s not the most effective way to build food at all. Their ingredients aren’t very fresh either and taste cheap...The Mollie Stone’s on the strip have better quality ingredients and a sandwich can take up to 7 minutes there.
