Avis sur Toppu Ramen & Dim Sum House San Francisco
I have no idea what all the bad reviews are for, this place is great! The staff is kind, friendly, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. They're tentative and aware! I can't tell you how long I searched for Ramen before coming across this place. AND THE FOOD IS GREAT, especially the ramen.
I came here a little bit later in the evening, still open and not crowded, I got seated very quickly. The food was really good, great menu with many things I really wanted to try especially ramen. Ended up ordering dim sum and it was impressive. Great location if you are staying in town. Feels like a place for a good meal or comfort food.
Delicious! Great customer service! Our waitress helped me avoid exposure to shellfish. Some of the other reviews said the tip was added in without choice but they did not add the tip in. There is a tip scale at the bottom so you can figure out the percentage without a calculator. I would come back again!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can't recommend this restaurant enough! Their shrimp fried rice is bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. The owner is incredibly sweet and kind; I’m a regular customer and I often receive complimentary soda, which she offers out of pure generosity. I truly appreciate that! Not to mention, their dumplings are fantastic too. If you're looking for a great meal, this place is a must-visit!
super yummy! waitress was kind, place was empty on a tuesday evening, the pork buns were SO GOOD. overall a very lovely experience
Amazing dim sum with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, making this a must-visit spot for dim sum lovers!
Quiet, clean, and close to our hotel, Three blocks from the Hilton in financial district. The lady who waited on us was very nice and the food came quick. This was the best steamed buns and fried rice (pork belly) we have ever had! The baked mussels were amazing too. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. I will be anticipating our return to San Francisco so I can eat here again. I highly suggest you come and try this place while here, you will not be disappointed.
Fast friendly service, clean and spacious. Food was hot and tasted fresh. The soup dumplings and chicken fried rice were both very flavorful!
We got lucky! Got seated right away, food was excellent. Only wished the portion size was a little larger. We had the San Francisco chicken udon, tonkasu ramen and unagi fried rice.
This is a new restaurant. Went to dinner here, great service and food and prices are reasonable. The people here are very friendly and helpful. Very convenient location, next to our hotel. Ordered the dim sum and dumplings, delicious. Went here several times.
The Service was amazing. Our food came out fast and hot! Was a great experience overall and very tasty.
Very good! Stopped in with my daughter and everything was good. Service very kind and attentive. Food good and quick. 😀
Amazing food and service! The ladies were so helpful with all of our questions and were very attentive. So many great vegetarian options as well. Great and authentic ramen/dim sum!
Delicious nutritious ramen for healthy men! If you're a women, that's fine, just bring along a hen! If your name is Jen, go with a boy of last name Chen! The taro buns were also v good!
Had such a great meal here! My friend ate here the week prior and when she suggested we go grab DimSum I was instantly excited. This place definitely did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and the service was quick. The menu was clear and well layed out with great and accurate pictures of almost all the dishes. It was hard to choose but definitely satisfied all our cravings! We can't wait to come back!

Unassuming looks, delicious food. They have a nice variety of vegetarian options for each menu category. I had the vegetarian steamed bun and tofu ramen with soy sauce broth. Both were delicious.
It was nice as the food came out quickly still hot and fresh. They had great service and were very flexible with our order. My only complaint would be a little bit of loud beeping with the doors open.

We stopped into Toppu Ramen & Dim Sum while exploring San Francisco and absolutely loved it. I ordered the beef ramen and it was perfect from start to finish. The broth was rich and flavorful without being too heavy, the noodles were just the right amount, and the toppings, especially the egg and beef, tied it all together beautifully. We also tried the gyoza and enoki mushrooms, which were both delicious. For drinks, my partner got a cold Sapporo while I had a lychee drink that was fun and interactive. The service was outstanding. Our server was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the meal even better. The atmosphere is cozy but lively, making it a great place to sit down, take in the sights and sounds of the city, and enjoy a hearty meal. Portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and it is definitely a spot I would recommend for both locals and tourists. Whether you are after a casual lunch, a cozy dinner, or a quick stop during your city adventures, this place is a gem.
Kimchi soup with rice was fire. Food was great fast and warm. Service was A1 for a quick good bite. Udon also great. Reading past reviews we get it you’re broke. Food was good definitely recommend!! Coming from Los Angeles just as good as home.
From USA visiting a friend and she brought me to Toppu! I highly recommend the food. I was a bit congested from traveling and other than its completely delicious quality and food— the Beef Ramen cleared my system. Also was able to do sake bombs and enjoy hot ginger tea. A MUST for locals and visitors.

The food was good and ready quickly. Restaurant was mostly quiet with non-intrusive waitresses. I'd never seen beer from Gunma before; it was good. Did have to flag down the waitress to ask for the bill after waiting some time...not bad...
I got their sea food ramen and it was AMAZING. Only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because we were seated outside (because of COVID) and it was super cold. They should try and get some heaters. Otherwise, 5/5 on service and food. Would totally recommend.
Went in for a late lunch on a weekend day. Menu was not quite full Japanese, but more of a Chinese-Japanese ramen, stir-fry, and some dimsum, clearly operated by Chinese staff. The location was easy to overlook, and the lighting is a bit dark. The wood furniture looks a bit chipped here and there. Ordered spicy miso pork belly ramen. Broth is spicy enough to notice, not enough to sweat, which is good enough, and thick enough to taste the miso. Pork belly is nice and fatty. Half egg and nori seaweed are there. Spinach as the green works fine. Ramen is soft but still has some chew to it. I wouldn't say it's comparable to authentic Japanese ramen places, but for the price it ain't bad. Add a canned drink and tax and you're looking at just over $20. May go back to try some of their other stuff. Not much of atmosphere. Service is fast but average. All in all, above average place, not a bargain, but decent value for the price. Beware: There is a step getting in or out of the main door.
2026-02 -- these 3 dishes - wakame; beef tripe; a fried dim sum dish (overly salty, and it wasn't even due to the seaweed seasoning it was overly salted) - should not have been $37.10. I was made aware there was an 18% tip added by the restaurant, and if so, I was expecting the $35 range. I think that auto tip has since increased from 18 to a new rate. Dined solo. No group and no one else accompanied moi. Coupled by the fact none of the guests who dined at other tables - including me - were offered water, I'm not sure this is a solid place for ppl after a long day of activities. There is bottled water for purchase.
Along this street this restaurant was by far the least busy and now I know why. I got the fried calamari and it tasted like it’s been sitting out for hours and was very salty. The rice dish I got was very plain too. The staff were so nice though!!! San Fran is well known for its Asian food and just blindly going here backfired on me. It wasn’t terrible or anything, but the food in San Francisco is a highlight of the city, so hitting a miss kinda stings.
(Forced Mandatory 18%tip) honey walnut shrimp is better in panda, buns are better in marufuku, rice and curry are bland. Then they expect you to tip more. A little out of the ordinary. Also the wings costed 13 dollars and all I got was 4 wings. and it tasted mediocre
Not cool that they sneakily added about 19.5% tip to the check. AND wanted you to accidentally write more tips on top of that. Food portion was too small, I got hungry soon after the meal as a smaller size woman.
The food was... fine. Got the vegetarian shoyu. Soup was tasty and the noodle was good (I assume not vegan but didn't ask). Could have used more tofu. Rating low because like others have mentioned, we were presented a bill with a gratuity added - just 2 people for lunch. This isn't displayed anywhere on their menu or otherwise. After running the credit card the second slip had a tip field as well. I'm fine if they've got a minimum gratuity, that's their prerogative. but make that VERY clear.

Ordered chicken teriyaki with rice and vegetables. Chicken was extremely dry, no teriyaki sauce and carrots were old tasting, rice was good though. In my opinion it was probably too late and maybe the food for the evening wasn't as fresh as opening time. Was my first Asian American restaurant in San Francisco. Won't give up!

I think the food, and the variety is a solid 4. But dang! They charged us an automatic 18% gratuity for a group of 3 adults, a 5yr old and a baby. I politely asked about it, the delightful server said it's a city ordinance to charge automatic 18% for a group of 5 or more.... I thought it was a new law, heck I haven't been back in Sfo for 3months. But as far as my research shows, state gratuity ordinance is applicable for a party of 6/8+. Don't get me wrong, I tip all the time, but to be mislead and get charged an arm and a leg for water ($2.5) is a factor for me to not want to come back here. (Saw a similar post, with an automatic 18% for a group of 4 and 2) . Just tell people that u do an automatic tip (service charge) instead of making up excuses. This is something I think Better business bureau and IRS should be aware of. It's labeled tips so they DONT have to pay taxes on it
I expected that I would need to pay to use the bathroom; that was fine. However, when I asked if I could use the bathroom and they said I needed to buy something, I offered to buy a tea. Then they said “just a tea?” AND asked if I could get the tea to go. However, the entire restaurant was COMPLETELY empty (not a single table occupied). Also, they then asked me to buy two teas and said usually it would not be okay that I just buy a tea and use the bathroom. Furthermore, the tea had no flavor at all. It seems that maybe the tea bag has already been used several times. They also stared at us thinking we would run on the bill. Then they came up quickly asking if we were ready to pay when I got up. Then they told me the wrong (higher) price for the tea than what was listed on the menu. Then they told me I had to pay an extra charge for using a credit card. AVOID.
PUKED MY GUTS OUT after having the vegetable fried rice.. I went in and there was no one in the restaurant which I should have taken as a sign, still I thought maybe it was because it was weekday. Ate the rice and got one more order to go as it was decent in taste, roamed around for 20 min and got sick, rushed to my hotel and puked. DONT EVER GO HERE..
They automatically added a 18% tip for our party of 2 and then gave us just the credit card receipts with empty tip field to sign while withholding the itemized receipt to trick us into tipping again. Judging by other reviews they’ve been doing this for years. Very dishonest and subpar food for the price.
Don’t go there if you don’t want to be scammed!!! So the food was good and it came quick, the waitress was nice first, but when it came to paying she intentionally charged more than it was on the bill. On the original bill, it said $45.18, then she charged my credit card $49.92?! I asked for the original copy of the receipt, which she didn’t want to hand me. She told me she had to print it again, where she then changed the prices and handed me a copy of $50.62. (all in front of my eyes) Not a huge amount but this is beyond acceptable.
We first ordered a steamed pork belly bun, and the picture from the menu was not accurate to what was served as the dish was very small and would be an appetizer for one person, not two. We ordered two spicy miso pork ramen bowls and the ramen noodles were maruchan top ramen quality with tajin as the spice? The pork belly in the ramen bowl was also very overcooked. We were disappointed by this restaurant and the quality of their food. Unfortunately, we will not return, but we thank the staff for their service as they were timely and friendly -- be aware though that tip is included in your bill :)
Food was okay at best, got a sushi roll. But when I arrived in the place was dirty, just the woman working there sitting around on her phone. Sneezing and sniffling bringing down anything, and then gave herself a nice tip at the end and just handed me the card machine. Had to go back and forth to get the tip down. Awful rude person and would never recommend anyone going to someone so self righteous. Ive ate in the two places on the same street, both are great. House of xi'an is underrated. Dont waste your time at this place.
This is simply the worst establishment I’ve ever dined at. The food is bland and unimpressive, it made me sad. We were charged a bunch of mysterious fees and taxes that didn’t make any sense and they were tryna be all sneaky about it like you think im dumb and im gonna let that slide. If you like food that tastes like it was microwaved in the back and being charged double what you should’ve been, this is the place for you! (You will get scammed)
