Tip: Don't judge a book by its cover; the Whizburger is a must-try despite the restaurant's appearance. Pay extra for grilled onions on your cheesesteak.

Avis sur Whiz Burgers San Francisco
Neighborhood burger joint, nothing gourmet but it's a classic that hits the spot. Staff is friendly, and it's been open since 1955!
This is by far the best burger place in the area. The cashier that works nights, he is one of the reasons we love this place so much! Not only dose he always remember us but he remembers what sauce we want even after not going there for over 2 months! They have the best fries! (remind me of fries from back home in new zealand) the philly and cheese steak is bomb 11/10! The banana shake too 11/10 There junior burger is bomb too! Definitely recommend going here, there prices are on the more expensive side but it's understandable with how everything is now. It's still worth every dollar
I came here 2 times and Everytime had always been great service so far..I love the workers they are amazing. I was having a bad day and these guys managed to put a smile on me. Thank you all. I love the smiles and greetings . Especially the cashier with the curly hair with a hat on . I order 2 orders of chicken wings and a root beer float . Everything in total was about 32 dollars. That's a great price with great service so worth it Keep it up guys
Every time I travel, I try to find an old school burger joint. Stumbled upon this one in SF. About two miles from the main downtown area. Could walk there but I took a Waymo. The burgers were delicious, the portion for friends was also good, AND they were placed in a little brown bag which was very cute. I had the bacon cheeseburger. Wish I would’ve tried the RootBeer Float but I was already full from the meal. The customer service was excellent as well. I didn’t get the guys name that helped me, but he was very nice and if I come to back to SF, I will definitely visit this place again.
Liked food. Turkey burger with fries and junior burger with fries. Good and filling g.
Love this little ma&pop diner, nothing fancy. Just a couple old picnic tables and the original neon sign that probably stopped working back in the eighties, but the food is cooked fresh and delicious. Best Philly cheese steak I’ve had on the west coast.
I got a whiz burger it was amazing. It was delicious. I even got a chili dog, Oh, my god It took me back and the french fries. The french fries are the best They are amazing The taste Everything is just nostalgic, and it took me back to my childhood.
I remember when there was one on the corner of Geneva and Rio Verde St down the street from the Cow Palace. It’s a McDonald’s now. Steak burger and fries with a chocolate milkshake was my go to after school. The good old days
Your usual burger shack. Ok so I'm revising my previous review. I'm not sure if they've update their ingredients or if there's a big difference in their different burgers. But I ordered the Whizburger and this was step changes better than any of the previous regular round burgers I had gotten. It was tasty, fresh had awesome ingredients even though it was a bit expensive for a burger. I will have to go back and try the regular burgers again, but for now I can highly recommend the Whizburger option!
If you're looking for cozy and quaint, move on. If you're looking for the greatest cheeseburgers west of the Mississippi, you've found it! And, don't go judging a book by it's cover, as the exterior would lead you to believe they closed YEARS ago. But, it still reflects how it must have been back in the 60's with waitresses on roller skates, smacking their bubble gum... this place had to have ROCKED! Big ole Burgers prepared many many ways, Philly cheese steak, good ole greasy lip-smackin' fries (just like they oughta be! And, HOT as hell, so be careful when you first get 'em 'cause they are just out of the fryer and dripping hot!), onion rings, milk shakes of all kinds, just to name a few of what this place is all about. This place is off-off the beaten tourist path (thank goodness) and frequented by locals who have been patronizing this place for years, even decades, as well as the Mellenial transplants who are just finding out about this place. Shhhhhh! Don't tell the tourists, or management might have to spruce up the place. And, it ain't ALWAYS about a pretty face! Get over there and spend some dough...
On a tour of Bay Area burger joints, and Whiz Burger was calling our name next. Parking lot has a good amount of spaces, just wish it was a little better lit (but that's just the small, female wary of dark corners in me) Service was fast, I was surprised by the amount of options, and wow that banana milkshake and their waffle cut fries are somethin' else! I got a 1/4 jr burger with cheese, and my man got the Whiz. His was definitely better than mine, but that's what you get when you add avocado to anything ;P I think for future hungover me, I'd like to grab a Beep's burger & onion rings, then swing by Whiz for a banana shake & waffle fries.
I think you know what you’re getting at Whiz’s immediately from looking at the building itself. A classic no thrills fast food joint. Took me back to my days in high school going out to diners. It’s solid but comforting food. You can get a combo meal for $15. What else is there to say?
Fresh ingredients that for some Reason don’t seem to add up. And the whiz burger does not need to be served on a French roll. Half way through my first half all I had left was bread. The cheese is basically craft singles. And way to expensive for a dive
very disappointed was a big fan of this place until I got to meet the owner very disrespectful but wish him the best in general!
Standing here at this exact moment where I ordered a large sprite she charged $6 at 3:01 and it’s now 3:08 I asked for my money back she said why? I said because I ordered a large sprite 4 minutes ago and you guys are just here restocking items making me late for my appointment. She said you ordered large fries ? I said no i ordered large sprite and she said it’s ok you can go give me my money back.
Very poor quality burger. Parking lot is used as a urinal by the local crowd. Sticky unsanitary tables. Poor quality ingredients. There are so many other choices you can get a great burger and fries. Why would you come here? Low-key terrible food. One star. Would not recommend.
