Avis sur Doña Maria Fresh Mex San Jose
Really good food in an unassuming strip of small stores. Had breakfast chiliques with chicken and eggs. Chips were great with the sauce. It’s really big tho, could feed 2 people. Husband had the enchiladas and a chicken taco. Before I looked up it was all gone. He loved it. A lot of people calling in and picking up for to go. Coming back ASAP.
The food was delicious! The service was fast and very friendly! The prices were reasonable! We plan to be regulars here!
Great little Mexican spot! I stopped here for breakfast and ordered the veggie veggie burrito but asked for it in a bowl (without tortilla) and with black beans on the side. The food was great, the ingredients seemed very fresh, and the house salsa was AMAZING. Service was quick. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.
Hidden Gem in south San Jose. Don't let the outside scare you. The interior is clen, fresh and cheerful. The recipes are delicious and the portions are huuuggge! We liked it more than some other local Mexican restaurants and reccomend giving it a try.
Incredible wholesome food. Clean environment with a well taken care of bathroom. If you’re looking for big potions with legitimate Mexican food—this is the place.
We knew the food was going to be delicious when we tried the salsa that they give you with the chips!! Great food and great customer service.

Great food and service! Don't let the strip mall appearance scare you away. Salsa is nicely spicier than most. Spicy carne asada burrito is two meals worth and also spicy. Cheese enchiladas were also great.
I ordered a Choriza burrito and they served it quick. The food was great and so was the atmosphere! It was said by another on reddit that they sell authentic Mexican food. This place did not disappoint. Highly recommend!
Service is outstanding! Tacos are fresh, abundant, delicious!! Clean & bright atmosphere!!!
great people, have been coming here with my family for years and the staff are always kind and vibes are good. Absolutely love the cal mex take, veggie veggie burrito has great grilled veggie mix.

Been visiting Dona Maria for a few years. It is not the best Tex-Mex around but is better than 80% of the Mexican restaurants in the area. I would recommend the Chili Verde. Spicy but not over the top hot. The rest of the menu is good to very good. Portions are on the large side. Prices are in line with the area. I have noticed that pricing for all restaurants are rising and Dona Maria is no exception. Service is spotty. Sometimes it is fantastic and others, down right terrible. I guess that the spotty service is why it is not a 5star. Another visit on 5/7/22. They have remodeled the interior. It is now bright and shiny. The food is still very good. Prices have risen to the new normal of the South Bay Area.
Excellent burritos and Salsa chips. My favourite restaurant place when in this area
I’m stuck between 3-4 stars. 3 being bit too low and 4 being bit too high. Salsa is inconsistent through my multiple visits they somehow all tasted different. Tacos are good and the meat choices are decent/acceptable. The taco salads bowl is GIANT lol the bowl is 6 inches diameter 😅 Would love to see the food taste being consistent.. would still visit again
Really good food. The people we went with said it was the best chips and salsa place in town and they certainly did have good salsa.
Oh my goodness, if the menubsays spicy, believe it!! I had the steak Ranchero, and darn, it caused me to have sweat rolling down face.

The veggie veggie ( actual name ) burrito is incredibly delicious. They use real, grilled vegetables to make it, and the service is quick. However, it is a bit pricey for the quality of food.
We recently moved here and wanted to find a good Mexican place nearby. We tried this restaurant and it was empty. Even though it wasn’t busy it took them long to get our dish which was already ready (we can see it as the chef was preparing and putting it out as done) - took them forever to notice and bring it to us. We had to call them and see to check if that’s our food. Sauces seem store bought and they charge for chips and salsa. Based on the prices - the quantity and quality isn’t really that great. Our search continues. Enough parking Restrooms available Accepts cards
Carne asada nachos ⭐️⭐️⭐️: serving size is pretty nice and you get guac for free but that's really it. The carne asada was a bit chewy and I wish there was a bit more of a char on it and maybe some more seasoning.

The food was disappointing for the price ($20 per entree). I ordered the fish tacos, but the fish didn't taste very good. There are so many other good Mexican restaurants in the area, so I'll skip this one.

I used to eat at the Dona Maria that used to be on Homestead in Santa Clara, but it closed down some time ago...That being said, I wanted to try this location. It's a small restaurant in a strip mall... decor was really cute. 1 bathroom for customer use. It was clean. Chips and salsa were like $2.25, maybe more, as I don't quite remember, but I was not expecting that and I thought it was quite expensive...I was told "NO Refills on chips, but that I can buy another basket for the same price." Ordered 2 different burritos. My mom and I cut the burritos in half so we could each try the "Breakfast burrito" and the "Chile Verde burrito" So, the menu stated fried potatoes can be added for 95 cents... so I asked for them in my burrito... The flour tortilla was filled with a lot of cooked pinto beans (I prefer refried beans) but was not asked my preference when ordering. Some small pieces of ham, diced potatoes, onion and some overcooked egg was also in the burrito. It was all very bland, not even my added salt, pepper and HOT sauce could flavor it up. As for the Chile Verde burrito... again came with lots of pinto beans, some rice and some pork meat in green sauce. Again, the rice and beans were overwhelming compared to the Chile Verde. The chile verde itself did have a spicy but good undertone to it. The meat chunks were rather small and sparse in the burrito. Overall, we both liked the Chile Verde burrito better than the Breakfast Burrito. As for service... it was basic. The lady took our order. With good time, the food came out to us. Had to ask for water refills twice. She didn't really talk so experience was not inviting. When the bill came, I was charged $1.25 to put very little potatoes in the breakfast burrito... it said 95 cents... hmm. Didn't like that. Menu prices should be accurate. Oh well... We will not be returning to this location... Food, service and prices ... just not worth it.

The food has no taste. I got the machaca with rice and beans. The rice was hard, no flavor or salt. The beans no salt. The tomatoes in the machaca taste like refrigerator and rotting wasn't good. My husband got the chilaqiles with chicken it taste like the sauce was just poured over no flavor wasn't good. Food was not good for the price too expensive. Lucy was our waiter she was nice and polite but when we told her about the food, she just said "really" that was it and gave us our bill. No sorry our food wasn't good or anything or can we replace anything its ok won't be going back. I don't recommend anything on the menu. Don't go here I got sick.
