Avis sur Sushi Arashi San Jose
Just really good food, sushi and cooked foods. Usually take out, occasionally eat in. I think take out is a huge part of their business- it’s busy in there! The atmosphere is basic/neutral. It’s a favorite - good food & decent prices considering how expensive food is now!
This restaurant is in Willow Glen, unless they have other locations. I ordered 4 mussels and a tuna roll. And a coke. The food was delish, the service quick, and the atmos adequate, just maybe a little small, but with plenty of booth seating, and not many people there around lunchtime. I recommend this place highly, I've been there a good three times or so.
Went here for a little solo lunch date and it’s very peaceful and servers are very kind and attentive, and very helpful explaining what dishes are and recommendations they have. All of the food was fresh, delicious, homemade, and very great price. I got two different rolls, the mango crunch roll which was absolutely incredible and plated beautifully. The salmon was just so buttery and fresh. The other was the baked goldeneye with scallops (cooked perfectly, scallops are very easy to mess up and cook incorrectly). Very flavorful and the sake was really good too. I loved the cute dish sets at the table as well! 10/10 I’ll be coming again and recommending to others!! The woman that waited my table was super kind and helpful! She had light pink hair and glasses :)
This review is a little late, but I still think about this place three weeks later. My family and I were visiting San Jose from TX the week after Christmas. We love sushi and know that the sushi in California has to be better than the sushi here in Texas. And we were right! We went here being that this place was located within walking distance of out AirBnB. It was small but not crowded so we got seated right away. The sushi was AMAZING. Like I said earlier I'm still thinking about it three weeks later. Also, the service was great. I unfortunately did not get the name of the server who helped us, but she was super sweet and very attentive. At one point we ran out of napkins, and I reached in my purse to grab a Kleenex. I'm sure she noticed and without asking brought us more napkins right away. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in San Jose.
My kids only want simple avocado rolls. I keep trying to convince them to try new ones, but no, only avocado rolls. I started ordering from this place because it was the best priced avocado rolls but now my kids are obsessed and it's their favorite place for well... Avocado rolls. So we order them. A lot! And while there's nothing special about avocado rolls, they are solid and inexpensive.
The food portions were good and tasty. We had a sashimi + roll combo and the seafood upon noodle soup. Service was great and food served fast. Good value.
Very average restaurant for Japanese cuisine. Not a bad place but nothing surprisingly good either. We ordered a sushi deluxe, lion king roll (baked), cherry blossom roll and winter rolls. They all tasted okay, nothing fancy or special about it! One of the waitress did walk by and check on us, other than that no other engagements or interaction. Just like I said: very average place!
We all felt sick when we got home after visiting this restaurant. The food tasted fine, we believe the problem was the water they serve you at the start of the meal as it tasted a little funky. We ordered the Philly roll and Chicken Teriyaki dinner, both were as expected. The salmon nigiri (sushi) we're an absolute delight. We didn't enjoy the Beef Roll, we actually left more than half of it. Would not recommend. The restaurant staff was kind, but the place itself is a little uncomfortable. There are boxes piled up on one end and the area is pretty cramped. We also noticed a very strong bleach smell at one point during our meal. I think we might not be returning anytime soon.
Ordered the nigiri special. Not so special. Unusual salad dressing - not miso, not mayo, it was okay though, with an added splash of soy sauce. Wasabi: darker and drier than typical. Rice: drier than normal. Tako: dried out. Maguro: decent! Rest: odd, excess moisture on fish. Like fish were “sweating”. Servers were excellent. They are apparently coming to downtown Mountain View. Won’t be back here, but will give new location a chance.
I ordered this one on doordash with a note “No wasabi and cucumber”. But they put both of them into my food??? 😏
The server was more in a hurry to get me out of the way when I went to pick up my food, so she could sit the people at a table who were standing in line behind me. After I gave her the name of my order, she still kept asking me for the name. I spelled it out for her and told her I could bring up a picture of the order once my wife sent it to me since it wasn’t me who placed the order. She ignored me for 10 minutes and kept walking past me. So I grabbed my order that was sitting out on the table next to me for over 30 minutes. Not only was the service terrible, raw fish that has been sitting out for over 30 minutes is disgusting. I will not be coming back and will refer the people I know elsewhere.
I order shrimp tempura roll and in the menu it read 3 avocado, cucumber, and shrimp tempura it Never listed any extra ingredients. I even asked the lady that was taking my order if there was any extra ingredients and she said no and I said just those three right? And she said yes and she was pretty rude and when she gave me the change, it was missing a penny she didn’t give the full change, but when I see my order it had Surimi in it and since I order it to go, I didn’t notice it had that until I opened the box at home and saw that it had it. Imagine if I was allergic to that Surimi and you did not disclose the full ingredient list on the menu! Do Not do this change your menus and put all the ingredients especially in foods like this. It’s not that hard. this really pisses me off because it’s a basic thing. Why you wouldn’t include just because it’s cheap and easier for you to put less of the valuable ingredients instead and more of the cheap stuff. I understand that, but just disclose full ingredients so people know, because if someone is allergic, it can cost serious damage.
I was shocked when I saw the floor of the place. There was water and detergent all over the floor in the restroom and the kitchen. Employees carry food back and forth across the kitchen in a completely unsanitary atmosphere. How is this even possible? Where are your sanitation standards? It's horrible. 07/26/2025 around 8pm
