so happy to found this place for conveyor belt sushi! delicious food, good place to have quick bite lunch. (They also got curry rice, donburi/rice bowl, tonkatsu, teriyaki, sashimi - you name it!) 2024 update: We often drop by when we have a craving for sushi. Absolutely adore the cozy, casual, homey vibe of this place. They provide booth seats, bar seats, and even regular table seats. Every visit leaves us feeling content, especially when starting with their hot tea followed by a delightful selection of freshly made sushi. You can grab directly from the conveyor belt or mark your choices on the menu. We happened to arrive late on a Sunday night, and not much was left. Huge thanks to the staff for the strawberry ice cream on the house! We felt valued and we sure will keep coming back for more.

Fresh sushi, especially enjoyed the specialty rolls. Always enjoy sitting at the bar to see up close the available variety of offerings. Service is fantastic. Our local go to place for sushi and other Japanese cuisine.

Such a cute little sushi place!! We're visiting San jose for a week from NJ. Found this place on Google maps. We waited for the place to open at 530pm. There were already a line of people waiting as well. They have plates of sushi on a conveyor belt. Each plate has a different set of pricing. You can order whatever you want as well. The fish melts in your mouth!! They give you free orange sorbet. The staff was very nice and friendly. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area. Quality sushi is hard to find.

Exceptional food, service and atmosphere for the price. Especially their curry pork katsu Don. Great price and can’t get enough of it. Perfect place to take someone out to.

We arrived at 12 and had a 5 min waiting for the sushi bar. Their dishes are delicious and delicate. We only took the sushi plate but they do offer different dishes including rice don, noodle, rolls, lunch special combo, etc. All the sushi we orders were delicious with reasonable price. They also have some daily special item like fresh caught fish or other seafood. Maybe the only complaint is the service was not timely because of the busy. But the staff were all friendly. I would come again.

Cute spot to get sushi with family or friends. The sushi was delicious, you get a few pieces but the fish is really good and fresh so it tastes amazing! I would come back again and would recommend if you want to get some sashimi with the belt experience as well!

Great spot for sushi! Highly recommend you bring friends here so you can order different sushi plates and try them all out. We ordered 12 different types of sushi rolls. All of them were delicious, my favorite where the spicy salmon ones (it is has a nice kick!!!). Friendly environment, has a small restaurant vibe.

I like this place, but I'm not going back an hour before closing. The sushi isn't as fresh, still great, but it loses some texture after a long night. The women's restroom is nice and clean. Would like a hook for my purse next time.

Lunch special is good value and tasty. Conveyor belt sushi plates go from 4.95 to 8.95, though we are there near closing time and have mostly seen 5.95 and 7.95 plates pre-computed tip option selections jump from 15% to 20% is a bit sneaky

Food is fresh and tasty, service is good, it's clean, but boy is this place pricey. My kids want to go here often but I have to steer them to more reasonably-priced choices. For a special occasion, though, this is usually near the top of our list.

To be more specific i give it a 4.7. Very friendly staff and fairly straightforward methodology. You can sit at a table and order off a menu. Or sit at the sushi bar and take as you please off the conveyer belt. You can also still order off the menu or even talk directly to the sushi chefs and ask for anything really in terms of sushi. Fish was very fresh and cut right in front of you. And there is more than just sushi on the belt; mussels, tempura etc. Plates are color coded belt depending on the price. MY reason for not giving it 5 stars was that’s the belt method while fun, comes in very small portions. The randomness associated also made me think on the fly about deciding, note, the plates are not labeled so you go purely off visuals. Essentially, you have to give up your cravings and settle for what is passing in front of you. That, combined with the small portions left me feeling unsatisfied, despite the fact that I was full. Also caution on the belt, your price will rack up quick, far quicker than if you were to just commit to something on the menu. That’s why I specifically didn’t give it 5 stars. But I know a lot of you are more used to this style of Japanese restaurant so it might just be a full five stars for you!

The sushi was delicious. I enjoyed that they came in all varieties of fish and topping arrangements. The tonkatsu is definitely the item I would recommends. Just the right amount of delicate crispness. My pet peeve was that the sushi dishes were a little small for a high price, but if you're up for clean, delicate, yet complex flavors, Sushi Maru is the place to go!
