Went to have lunch at Lazy Dog. Service was good. Received food fast. The portion of food was good. The pork schnitzel was tender and juicy the salad complemented the pork. The my daughter liked her breakfast breakfast burger. My cranberry citrus (? ) drink was refreshing. I will definitely come back again .
Great quality of food and a decent price for being a chain. We sat in the outdoor patio since our friend had their dog. And they're a super dog friendly restaurant. I got the BBQ bacon burger with truffle fries and everything tasted soo good!
Had a great experience at Lazy dog in San Mateo! Everyone’s food came out exactly how it was asked and on top of that being super delicious. Our server Clara was on top of everything, and made sure everything was great. On top of that having the drinks and food come out fast for how big our party size was. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely be coming back soon!!
We finally made it to Lazy Dog after talking about going for so long. The challenge is, there are so many other good familiar restaurants in this plaza like Benihana, BJ's CA Fish Grill or Armadillo Willie's. The restaurant was full at 7:30pm with a wait of 30 minutes for a table of 3. The menu is extensive. We had two items from their $15 menu which includes an entree and a brownie ice cream. Those tasted OK, a bacon cheeseburger and 1/2 fried chicken dinner. The fish and chips $24 had generous pieces of fish. The nachos with carnitas $18.50 was also OK. The food came out fairly quickly for a busy kitchen. Our waitress checked on us often. Overall, great job everyone at Lazy Dog. It was a fun and lively meal with TV's all around to watch some Friday night hockey.
I love the environment The servers was very nice. She was always smiling. She took care of me nicely. I ordered Kung Pao bowl with tofu and it was amazing . She even followed the modifications that I asked for. I ordered mango Chile Margarita with less size and it was one of the perfect drinks. I had it in a while the kind way i like. Love the ambience and the live lessons in the place
I really like Lazy Dog restaurants. They have a good menu with lots of different choices from the norm. So many things look interesting on the menu, it can be hard to decide. The food was good and served hot and timely. Unfortunately, I ordered a mocktail and asked to have alcohol added to make it a real cocktail and when they brought it I could tell there was no alcohol in it. The waiter, who was quite nice, told me he was sure that they had added the alcohol. After a few more sips I flagged him down again to let him know I was certain he was wrong. At that point he took it back to the bartender and found out that indeed there was no alcohol added. When the correct to drink came out it was pretty good. No real recognition that they had made a mistake and didn't listen to the customer on the first go-round, but not a huge deal. I like the vibe at this place and plan to go back. I would not recommend it for a romantic date, because it is so loud, but the rest of the time it's a fun enjoyable place.
Stopped by for lunch on a Monday around 12:30pm. Beautiful day out and we sat outside. Spacious patio. Lots of cute, well behaved, dogs arrived sporadically. They have a lunch special served until 3pm. Soup, salad, side and a half a sandwich for $13. I decided on the chicken sandwich with the fruit (instead of fries) and the tortilla soup. The chicken was really roasted turkey breast. However, they include fresh lettuce, tomato and avocado on it. The tortilla soup was really good. A bowl, not a cup. Service was great. Our waiter, checked on us enough to ensure we did not need anything more. Nice location and not too loud on the patio. Some road noise from cars driving by but not too bad. I'll be back.
First time here. The food was decent nothing stood out.. Our service was amazing…we loved her!!! And our family sat by the fire pit outside which we loved. Would I come by there 🤔 not on my own….actually the dessert was yummy we had the s’mores brownie with ice cream! It’s a great place to get decent food and hangout in the patio.
Update my star from 2 to 4 Last time it was a total mess, all the workers in front didnt want to do anythjng. Togo was a " i dont care event" .. Never went back since So, I went again, and it was much better this time around! The service and food was pretty decent. Overall, I had a good time this time, and I'm glad it was a positive experience.
Experience on 6/24 was amazing. Had a great lunch with Chili Crunch Ahi Tuna Lunch and a hard cider. Maybe our server that day was fresh and happy to be there at 12:30. Completely different story on 6/25 visit with my folks. This server was the bare minimum. No smiles, no welcome in just what do you want to order. Food was perfect, ordered the pot roast, which is why I visit Lazy Dog in various states. Maybe she wasn't having the best day, we came in at 12pm 🤷🏻♀️ I give the benefit of the doubt. Hope her day goes better 💞
This is a tough one. If you go to Lazy Dog for cheap food and drinks, then yes, it is an absolute 5 stars. And perhaps that is what it should be. However, when we are served Kraft Mac n Cheese and Costco Orange Chicken for the kid's meals, you start to lose a bit of faith. I'm not saying they are exactly that. But that is the caliber of food - frozen or instant food. The ribs are tough, the chicken meatballs in tikka masala sauce is "commerical" at best. And again, yes, it is cheap considering the location and the atmosphere you get. Yes, this is where you'd go to get beer and burgers, and hang out with a bunch of friends. I get all that. But also, if there was just a little bit more attention to the quality of the food, it really would've hit it out of the park. I don't want to nit pick on each and every dish but you'll sense the lack of focused cooking here. Everything feels like it was reheated or commercially prepared in large batches. I've only upgraded it to 4 stars because I think my expectations were unreasonable. It is what it is. But at the same time, this could be something really awesome - like Pinstripes in Hillsdale Mall.
Came here fresh off our flight with a pretty large group, and they were able to seat us right away. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. Service was great—attentive and friendly, especially considering how busy they were. I got the bison burger with Cajun fries, and it hit the spot. The bacon jam added a nice touch of sweetness to the burger, and the fries were perfectly crispy, just how I like them. Overall, a solid spot to grab a bite to eat.
Very mediocre place, server was nice but food was VERY mediocre. There were some dogs barking which ruined the atmosphere. I ordered the French onion puff pastry appetizer and the burger, which the puff pastry appetizer was better than the burger itself. They gave me normal fries when I asked for Cajun fries, which was disappointing, but they at least handled it well. I ordered the strawberry drink which was okay, but could have been better. Overall, not sure if I want to come back.
I could not recommend this place. Sat at the bar with a friend for lunch, the bartender had no people skills, basically threw the menu at me and asked if I wanted a drink. Ordered an Old Fashion, as they only had one rye I had bullet. This is the type of bar that measures everything to the drop and follows a menu as the bartender has little to no skill as a bartender. The Old Fashioned was too sweet and for the most part tasteless, my friend also had the same opinion. After finishing these we switched to beer and Bourbon served neat. ‘Ordered food, when it arrived via waitress she had no clue who it was for, she said in a loud voice who order this French dip, who ordered this sandwich, come on every restaurant has each and every seat numbered so staff know where to go. The chicken club was poorly made as though someone grabbed all the ingredients and smashed them between two pieces of bread. The chicken was good, however no seasoning of any kind could be perceived, (salt, pepper, nothing) the avocado that fell out was bruised and brown and should have NEVER been served to a customer. I asked for a side of fruit and was shocked to see that they considered that option as a single piece of water melon, I was expecting a small fruit salad, thank God it wasn’t apple season, I guess I would have gotten a slice of apple. This is unacceptable and I will not be going back food, service not worth it and in my opinion it is over priced for the food quality.
Slow service. We ended up walking out before being served, which may have been a blessing based on past reviews. After being seated and given our menus, waiters and waitress just walked past us without acknowledging our presence. It would've been nice just to say we'll be right with you, but nothing, didnt even make eye contact.Seems like they ignored us and served everyone else.I will make sure to not recommend this place to friends and family.
Dish reviewed: BBQ Bison Meatloaf Drinks: Pomegranate Sour Fauxtini, Cold Brew Carajillo, Strawberry Jalapeño Mockarita From the very first visual impression, the BBQ Bison Meatloaf was deeply disappointing. The presentation lacked any culinary intention what arrived at the table was shapeless, unstructured, and visually unappealing. The bison itself had an off-putting texture and an unpleasant flavor that overshadowed the entire dish. The side dishes failed to redeem the plate. The spinach was severely overcooked, reduced to a lifeless, watery mass with no remaining identity or freshness. The only element that worked was the mashed potatoes, which were smooth, properly seasoned, and comforting. The added French fries were also acceptable crispy and well-fried but the onion rings were greasy, heavy, and frankly inedible. As for the mocktails, the experience was equally underwhelming: • The Pomegranate Sour Fauxtini was the only drink that was remotely enjoyable. • The Cold Brew Carajillo tasted diluted and forgettable. • The worst of all was the Strawberry Jalapeño Mockarita, which was aggressively unbalanced, watery, and unpleasant, with the jalapeño completely overpowering the drink in the worst possible way. This was not simply a flawed dish it was a failure in execution, balance, and respect for ingredients. The bison, which should be the star, was mishandled beyond recovery. This dish does not meet even meet solid casual dining standards.
I’ve been to this Lazy Dog location multiple times, but after my most recent visit, I won’t be returning. When I first sat down at the bar, I was handed a menu where every page was stuck together with something sticky. I ordered a Cosmopolitan and the Campfire Pot Roast from the bartender. While waiting for my late lunch, I sipped on my drink, which was fine, but when my meal finally arrived, it was a huge disappointment. The bartender told me to be careful because the dish would be warm to the touch. That would have been fine, except the food itself was lukewarm. I’ve ordered this dish many times, and I know what it should taste and feel like. This time, the camp FIRE was nonexistent, it seemed as if it had been cooked on embers and served half-cold. The entire meal was terrible because of it. What made things worse was the lack of service. The bartender who served me never once came back to check if everything was okay not even when my Cosmopolitan was empty. No offer of a second drink, no “How’s everything tasting?” nothing. The only reason I was able to pay and leave was because another bartender came on shift, and I asked her for my check. One bad service experience can erase all the good ones before it. Unfortunately, that’s what happened here. Sticky menus, a lukewarm meal, and inattentive service have ruined Lazy Dog for me, despite many prior visits.
