My sister and I went here for the first time yesterday! The service was lovely. The man that helped us at the counter was patient and kind while we looked over the menu. The food was DELICIOUS. My sister and I tried their tamales, tacos, burrito, and horchata. We loved them all! You can tell it was made by people that love what they do. It has that home made feel/taste to it. I would definitely come back here again, and recommend anyone that loves great vegan mexican food to come here ASAP!
Can’t believe I hadn’t come here sooner, you cannot skip this place! We came for a lunch and returned to get our holiday tamales and we were blown away. The queso tacos are freaking incredible. The Pambazo was epic. The tamales for the holidays were so good. I recommend the jalapeño and cheese tamale, the nopal and the green parrot (which may be limited for the holidays). The owner, Loreta is so kind and puts love into her customers just like she does in her food. We are blessed to have them in OC. Don’t waste any time, and go grab some delicious food today.
I've loved everything I've ever ordered from here, which I don't think one can say about most places 😇 Prices are fair and the food is all so, so good, as are the drinks and desserts. Please don't think you have to be vegan to eat here — I'm not, and I'm always wondering when I can come back :0) Loreta and the staff are the sweetest, too.
201 W 4th St is such a fun place to come have food and tell your friends to meet there. Once I found out there is a vegan Mexican food in this plaza, I had to go. I've been wanting Mexican food and this really hit the spot. I decided to try their tames and was impressed with both. The jalapeño and cheese tamale was really good, but I truly enjoyed the mushrooms with red sauce. I was not used to the texture and still enjoyed it all. The sauce added just enough spicy heat to add to the flavor and experience. Being Vegan has not been as hard as I thought it'd be once I found gems like this place. Vegan or not, it's great food, and a great spot.
Had a great first experience at la vegana. The pambazo torta was tasty, especially with the habanero and crema on the side for a little more flavor. Looking forward to going back and trying the quesotacos. Friendly and fast service as well
Wow! This food is amazing. Highly recommend the Quesataco with Mushrooms Al pastor and Pineapple. Tamales were excellent as well. Small stand, superior food. I hope this place expands!
This cafe stood out and I decided on a garbanzo tostada. It was perfect! The portion was great. Filled me up with delicious plant based food. Fresh ingredients!!!
I like that they have a range of vegan options. I would highly recommend the Pambaso, it looks amazing. For the tamale, it was good although it could have been a bit firmer. Watch out for that spicy sauce, it’s on the side and it was savory good. I will definitely be swinging by to try the other items.
As one of the only completely vegan restaurants in the food hall, this Mexican restaurant offers traditional dishes with good portion sizes. Can’t wait to try more dishes!
Simple, fresh ingredients with good flavors. Fresca wasn't too sweet either and sauce wasn't too spicy. Food was made quick and fresh. Excited to come back and try more.

I'm a vegetarian so I googled vegetarian near me and ended up at this place. I was in for a treat. This is probably THE BEST vegetarian/vegan Mexican places I've encountered in SoCal. The taco flavor profiles and combos were great. I especially enjoyed the potato chorizo and pineapple mushroom combos. Shoutout to the service as well. The guy at the counter was super friendly. 10/10!
Had the jalapeño and cheese tamale and it was so yum and comforting! Had the quesataco with black beans and added the crema on top. Yumm as well. I’ll be returning to try more. Service was really nice. The gentleman taking my order came out and hand delivered it- I appreciated the gesture! Prices were reasonable too!

Stopped by this place to find a bite to eat . It’s inside this cafeteria with a lot of food vendors - but this was the only vegan spot we found . The service was great ! We ordered a burrito with jackfruit asada . The jackfruit didn’t have much flavor but it was an okay burrito . 🌯 giving it more stars for service and the sauce was good 👍
Delicious tamal made with hongos & chile guajillo 🍄🌶🌮🌯 . Tacos were pretty good too, especially the al pastor! They had a nice selection of items. The food is nourishing & authentic. Cute atmosphere at 4th St Marketplace. Parking is tricky with construction on 4th St, but worth the effort. Kid friendly. Thanks for using minimal plastic 🌏
Great flavors, albeit small portions. Some my call it a bit pricey but well worth it. Nice setting and decorations to boot.

Bad location. Edit: It is in a difficult to locate, out of the way location. The burrito was super tasty, very fresh and organic. Tacos were okay. Cheese and Jalapeño tamale was fine.

Partner and I were really excited to try this place and it was a huge let down. We ordered a burrito, a taco, and a tamale. The burrito cost $14 with cheese and is about half the size of a chipotle burrito, which while I was eating I was thinking how much happier I would've been eating a chipotle burrito. The burrito had rice, black beans, and unmelted cheese, for $14, so extremely overpriced. The taco was bland and again overpriced. The tamale was awful and didn't have anything in it, so just a complete waste of $30. The only thing that was good about the experience was the building this place is in. Save your money and go to either Chicana Vegan or Vegan by El Zamorano.

The food @ La Vegana Mexicana is extremely expensive and did not taste good at all to me. I should’ve asked for a refund. The 4th Street Market is very loud and echoey, there was a yelping dog and screaming kids here when I visited.
La Vegana Mexicana may be the worst restaurant I’ve tried in many years. I tried the burrito with vegan chorizo, it was very bland and just tasted completely disgusting. I was upset I was charged so much for such a poorly executed meal. Chipotle is much better and much more satisfying than La Vegana Mexicana, I would rather have Taco Bell over this place. Even the miniature salsas provided no extra flavor or heat whatsoever. Their prices are marked way up to pay for rent @ 4th Street Market. The 4th Street Market is also a terrible destination in itself due to the lack of quality food and noise.
