Avis sur Miyako Santa Monica
We went for lunch time. This spot has a cozy vibe with cherry blossoms, neon signs, and retro Japanese art and very photogenic. The sushi was super fresh and beautiful. Especially I liked the scallop nigiri, sweet shrimp, and Miyako rolls with avocado and spicy mayo. Everything was flavorful and well-balanced. Service was friendly. Server came to check our table several time which made me taken care and at ease. Overall, a great place for a casual and tasty sushi outing.
The food is delicious, the sashimi is been cut perfectly not too thin and not too thick. Service is great they were very friendly. The design for the restaurant is very traditional and very nice. I only have one problem is the volcano roll, it make me loss of appetite because the roll was too big, it’s good but if they make it smaller it would be perfect.
Impeccably fair Japanese cuisine with beautiful decor and polite staff. Try the miso ramen, it's to die for They also have an extremely wide range of boba and slush flavors, plus beer & sake. The sushi rolls present with generous portions. Our favorite item: the garlic roasted edamame beans. Soooo good!
Everything looked beautiful and tasted even better🍴✨ • Miyako Roll: Creamy avocado, fresh fish, and perfect sauces—so flavorful and satisfying. • Negi Hama Roll: Light, fresh, and topped with a tasty sauce. • Shishito Peppers: Smoky, salty, and addictive. Great side dish! • Sweet Shrimp Nigiri: Super fresh with a touch of ikura on top. The fried heads were a crunchy bonus. • Scallop Nigiri: Sweet, tender, and balanced with a hint of yuzu kosho. Great vibes, amazing food. Can’t wait to go back!
Such great food! Good pricing for Santa Monica, we sat at the sushi bar and had a great time here. Definitely recommend! The manager came over and gave us a complimentary bottle of sake, I officially love this spot. Can’t wait to come back!
Me and my friend had a dinner at this sushi restaurant. The service was exceptional. Our server took time to recommend rolls based on our preferences, and her suggestions were spot on. Every bite was delicious, from the freshest sushi to the flavorful rolls. PS Miyako roll was my favorite
The best crispy onions! Can’t wait to be back ❤️
Nice place for simple lunch or big group company outings
Best sushi in town! High quality sashimi and amazing rolls. The ambience is great and the owner of the restaurant and workers are all very nice. Highly recommend coming here.
Been here a few times and this place is great. It's kinda small and quiet inside so it's good for a date or an intimate dinner. Baked salmon roll 🔥, rainbow roll 🔥, eel and avocado 🔥 all bomb. 911 roll was mid 🥱. They only have Sapporo on tap but they have bottles of other beers. The only thing that sucks is the parking. Get ready to walk!
AMAZING SASHIMI and super friendly staff!! Love the atmosphere here!

Great sushi and nice staff. The sampler was the highlight for sure.
I’ve lived next door for a few years and overlooked cause I thought “hey you have to travel far for those special places” and I have to tell you not the case. One of the best resonably priced sushi spots is THIS ONE and I’m fortunate to live two blocks away. Great rolls from volcano, to rainbow, to great sashi like their yellowtail. Good consistent service too. Love this place
The service and food was an amazing! Everyone was extremely welcoming. The rolls and bento boxes were perfect :)
Absolutely loved this place! The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor — you can really tell how much care goes into every roll. The service was warm and welcoming! I also love supporting a woman-owned business, and this one truly deserves all the praise.
Fresh ingredients, delicious flavors, and super fast service. Everything tasted clean and high quality. Perfect spot when you want great sushi without the long wait. Will definitely be back!
Food was excellent. Service was great. Ordered green tea and they freshly brew for you. And also freshly brew for any refill. Price was good. We enjoyed it so much. Will come back. Would be hard to find parking. Limited street parking available.
Great service, nice portions, great place for both lunch and dinner. The staff here are always amazing, super attentive without being too much, super sweet and always nice. We are somewhat regulars as my wife works nearby and they always give us something special on the house to try. We've tried just about every dish on the menu and everything from the ramen, sashimi to the seaweed salad are always great. You really can't go wrong here and highly recommend to check it out!
Had a nice meal at Miyako, had a chirashi bowl. The seafood was fresh, and service was good. They had a lot of really great stuff on the menu, however was dining alone so couldn't try it all!

Came in late on a Sunday and it was not busy at all. Had the Chirashi Special. Good variety of sashimi slices, quantity was filling and quality was very fresh. My girlfriend had the sushi and sashimi combo which was equally tasty and I had to help her finish. Parking is a bit limited in the area. There is a nice ice cream and sweets shop next door which is great for post meal dessert.
Ramen was good and spicier than I was expecting! The flavor was great and pork was cooked really well, the only thing I was a little bummed about was only getting half an egg and not as much pork as I'd hoped, but then again, in this economy...

Service was good considering I was the only one eating outside at the time. I ordered the bento with a side of udon noodle soup. I chose the 3 item option of three sashimi pieces, pork katsu, and chicken katsu. Came with miso, rice, edamame, and salad. Good presentation on a plate (I was sort of hoping for an actual bento). The best part of the dish was the sashimi pieces, the fish looked fresh and tasted good as expected. The two katsus were nice and thin and had a crunchy outer coating. However, the katsu itself was quite bland and lacked any notable flavor, I could barely tell the difference between the chicken and pork. The katsu sauce, though, was quite nice and wasn’t excessively sweet like many other comparable places. The udon noodles were just the right amount of chewy while the broth base was a bit lacking. This spot comes off as a bit pricey for the portions but it is to be expected considering the location. Overall, service was good, fish was fresh, but items were rather bland.

Absolutely never coming back. I’m a local as in 2 blocks away. I come to this place twice a week. My bill is never bellow $100. I always come on Wednesdays and Fridays. I come here because I love the sushi rolls and Japanese miso Ramen we have the same waitress. She always nice and friendly. Today we were kicked out, discriminated against. Susie states a costume last time complained about my toddler making too much noise. So this restaurant is not family friendly. Susie said “yes hi-chair but shhhh” my son has a disability. It is unreasonable for a child to be absolutely quiet. I guess we are never coming back. We asked to have the owner info but were refused and asked to leave. I have felt some kind of discrimination at other times. For example The sushi chefs gave complementary Albacore to other people of his own race but not my family. It didn’t bother me then because we were done with our meal but if you are giving a complementary Food to one person, you have to at least offer to the other table who probably is spending the same amount of money. I will absolutely take further action.
