Avis sur Sonoma Crust Santa Rosa
Wonderful little chicken waffle sandwich restaurant . Run by fascinating women. Street noise distracting if you choose to use the three tables outside the little Sonoma Crust. Very good , very fresh food. During the summer they will close early to work local street fares on Wed/Thur. Fresh beignets for dessert. I highly recommend. Support local food not chain food$.
Had the spicy sandwich, the begniets, and the tenders! The location is a little hard to spot and the parking is mainly on the street. Waffle had a great crunch and the spicy jam with peppers added a great spice to the chicken sandwich. Begniets were light and fluffy and had great density to them.
Five star fried food feast. Limited menu - fried chicken sandwiches on waffles, fries, slaw, and iced teas, with beignets on the weekend. Everything is cooked perfectly. Outdoor seating is a charming oasis in an industrial area. Spicy means spicy, and everything is a little sweet and tangy. It's like a bit of a county fair and an amusement park and a Sonoma county goumet food truck all in one!
Excellent new place, especially for two born and bred New Englanders having chicken and waffles for the first time 😀 Ann (Anne?) the owner was more than happy to explain things and to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. It's all outdoor seating there, but as I was there with my 88 year old mom who was cold, Ann actually brought a table and chairs inside the teeny area between the cash register and the kitchen so she could sit inside! We ordered two original chicken sandwiches, with the slaw on the side. Once we tasted it though, we mixed it with the aioli and put it in the sandwiches ourselves..lol. If it's on the side, she serves it dry so it doesn't get soggy. The sandwiches had fried chicken breast (I'm assuming pounded thin) ginger honey, apple slaw and pickled mayo with garlic aioli (for the slaw mix), all put inside a light, homemade waffle, which was then folded in half and cut in two. It was quite satisfying and not super heavy...although neither of us could eat both halves (though I suspect I COULD have, but knew I'd probably pay for the indulgence later). We ordered beignets to go ($5 for 3), but HAD to try one before we left...again, new to us. It was pretty much like light, fresh made fried dough with powdered sugar. However, it made me nostalgic for the fairs we used to go to back home, which was nice. All in all, it was a great experience that for us, would be a perfect occasional treat 👍👍
In a word? Delicious. Tried the original, spicy, and the chicken parmesan sandwiches. Each was unique but, in the end, preferred the original. The waffle 'bun' is light and airy, the chicken perfectly fried. Unlike anything I've had in a long time and could be habit forming. Some of the best benigets ever too, and the carrot soup was quite tasty. We did wait a long time for our order, but that was probably due to the lunch rush that day, so it might be advisable to call ahead. But, whatever you do, don't miss this experience.
Some of the best food I've had in Sonoma County. The waffle knocks me over it's so good. And the chicken is PERFECTLY breaded and fried. The cole slaw with the sandwich is almost sweet, the fries are bomb and everything is just... *chefs kiss* seriously, do yourself a favor, and go here. So so worth it

Theeee best Chicken Waffle Sandwich I have EVER had! the chicken is fried and seasoned to perfection, the honey ginger cole slaw with apples adds such a good flaver with the waffle and chicken all together!!! YUM! beignets are bomb as well! The line and the wait are worth it be patient!
I LOVED both the chicken/waffle sandwich with coleslaw & the Mac and Cheese. I'm not usually one to order these but was encouraged to try them here. Best food I've had for awhile. The service was friendly and prompt. You have to try this place!
I ordered their spicy chicken and waffle sandwich. The multiple mesh of flavors was delicious! The crispy chicken crust and soft moist waffle melded well together. The apple coleslaw and salsa both brought individual spectrums of unique flavors from different directions. All of which came together brilliantly with every bite. The portions were large enough to satisfy the heartiest appetite. If you need more to fill your plate, ask for a side of fries, with extra sauce! You'll be bragging about this food experience to everyone and returning to reignite this melody often! I'll surely be returning soon!
Ordered online for pickup. Yes, I still had to wait about ten minutes after arriving, but it was so worth it to have fresh and hot food. I will return many times. I had the original chicken sandwich which was 10/10 delicious (the apple slaw is perfect) and I am eager to try their breakfast sandwich. Don't miss this little piece of gastronomic paradise.
Great food and the owner Anne is very gracious and welcoming. I've been back several times since I posted this review and have tried all three of the chicken sandwiches, all of which I really enjoy. I've also had the fried chicken with both sauces. The BBQ is good, but the ginger honey is my fave. The chicken is moist with a crunchy skin. Perfection! You also can't go wrong with the soups or beignets. At this point, they could just put up a menu that says food and I'd eat whatever Anne served.
Really good food! My spicy chicken sandwich on a waffle was great. We had a chicken parm sandwich on a waffle that was amazing. The nutella waffle with shortbread chunks was sublime. Only a few tables outside no seating inside yet. Owner was sweet. Go and support your local restaurants so they can grow! Best decision we made today.
Damn good food! We love this place, and I am hopeful that this good business will grow. It's small, but it's home grown and offers good food and good value. Just go and try it, you'll almost certainly be back again. Recently, the wait for this freshly, individually prepared food has notably increased. It's a small business, and I still support them. I will time my orders better now, and hang out at home maybe until I get the "order is ready for pickup" notice on my phone. Because waiting outside after the "should be ready around (the hour)" was just not a good use of my time. Still worth waiting for!

Would've rated this place 3 stars, but the people I was with really enjoyed this place. We had the chicken waffle sandwich. It was okay, the other two people really liked it. My friend endorses the tea. Bring your own waterbottle or expect to pay $3 for a water. They don't have a tap option. Apparently their hours are really variable.
DO AN ONLINE ORDER! The chefs here take great care in ensuring freshly fried chickens. Because of that, the wait can get quite long. I believe good food comes with time, so I encourage people to order online at least 30 minutes ahead. Their specialty is a fried chicken on a crispy on the outside, soft on the inside waffle. You can add on cheese, bacon, Bleu cheese. I would eat here again, but next time I'd do an online order.
Service takes a while but worth the weight. Best beignets in Sonoma County. Chicken and waffles sandwich is delicious. Have outdoor seating only and a weird spot to get to. But super tasty food.
The line for this place was quite long, not to mention the place was understaffed. It took what seemed liked forever to get the food. But it ended up tasting great, the beignets are amazing.
I really like the sandwiches but the info they ask is unusual...second time I’ve gotten a cold fried chicken sandwich the waffle and chicken was cold. Last time I returned it this time I just ate it cold even cold it’s great.
The food is fantastic. I can’t say the same about the service. The people are friendly but twice out of my last 2 times here the food has been late for take out by at least 15 min. This after an over an hour “estimated” wait time for the online order. We will keep coming back because the food is amazing. Just don’t be in a hurry to eat.
This place could not be any cuter! Seating is outdoor. But whether day or night, the atmosphere is quaint with succulents, big trees, and the cute patio string lights. We ordered food to-go and it was worth the wait (15 min., which we were told). The chef does a great job with making the chicken light and crispy. Everyone talks about the waffles sandwiches but the highlight for me was those fries! You could eat it with the aoili or without. Both ways were wonderful. We liked it so much, we got another order. You can tell the chef loves what she does and is really nice. And if you go on Sunday, get the beignets. They are pillowy goodness. A hidden gem worth going to again.
