Location accogliente e ben disposta. In una giornata di sole come quella trascorsa è un luogo che merita perché immerso in una piazza di totale relax. Servizio disponibile e gentile oltre che accogliente. Il cibo ottimo! Ciascuno ha preso varie pietanze che abbiamo assaggiate a giro... Davvero buono!!! Porzioni nella norma. Il prezzo è tendenzialmente alto rispetto comunque alla semplicità del piatto in sé.. Ma comunque merita. Fiorentina meravigliosa!!! Non si può non prenderla. Lo consiglio! Ottimo posto

Ho pranzato in questa trattoria a fine agosto 2021 con la mia famiglia ! Locale semplice ed accogliente , personale gentilissimo e servizio veloce! Il menu presenta piatti della tradizione Toscana tipo affettati, pici, e tanta ciccia !! Noi abbiamo optato per una fiorentina grande e due contorni ! Mai mangiata una carne così gustosa ! La più buona di sempre ! Ben cotta, tenera e saporita ! Deliziosa ! In quattro praticamente abbiamo finito quasi due kg di fiorentina tanto era buona (e pensare che ci sembrava troppa!). Per contorno abbiamo scelto i funghi porcini fritti ….che dire ! Eccezionali ! Tra i dolci, oltre a quelli tradizionali tipo tiramisù e panna cotta e zuppa inglese , consiglio di prendere la mousse di ricotta con miele allo zafferano ! Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo ! La migliore cena della nostra vacanza in Toscana fino ad ora. Consigliato da amici locali, la trattoria si trova nel bellissimo borgo di Sant’Angelo al Colle e ha tavoli all’aperto. Abbiamo ordinato bruschetta al pomodoro fresco, gnocchi al tartufo nero, bistecca alla Fiorentina, patate al forno e Brunello. Tutto eccezionale. Prenotazione consigliata.

Ottima qualità del cibo, cortesia e gentilezza nel servizio, vino insuperabile. Ho avuto occasione di assaggiare il loro London Gin ILGINUS fantastico. Da ritornarci!

Scelto seguendo le recensioni su google e poi consigliatoci dall'agriturismo Le Ragnaie. Ottima cena. Antipasto di salumi buonissimi e pici lodevoli. Lista dei vini eccezionale per tutti i gusti e tutte le tasche. I dolci sono stati una degna conclusione. Ragazzi in sala discretamente competenti. Va detto che non è facilissimo parcheggiare nelle vicinanze ma non è certo colpa loro. Lo consiglio a tutti. Bravi!!!

I was in the area and was told to try this place. What a great recommendation! I loved the location, and the ambiance was charming. I enjoyed a lovely glass of Rosso di Montalcino paired with a spectacular pasta dish. Dessert was delicate and delightfully surprising. A lovely little gem. Worth the detour.

We visited twice in one week, and it just seemed to get even better. We’ve been to Il Pozzo before. It was highly recommended because of the wine list. The wine list doesn’t disappoint and is very well priced. We tried several of the daily specials. All was delicious, but the pinci with porcini mushrooms was the star of the show for me. For secondi, the arrista, recommended by our waiter, did not disappoint. (We ordered it twice.) The meat quality was very high. Service was impeccable. It was a true delight to take our time with both the food and the wine. We will be back.

No visit to Montalcino is complete without a visit to Trattoria il Pozzo! Every time we visit Montalcino we are sure to stop at Il Pozzo at least a few times. Il Pozzo uses only the highest quality ingredients, all of which are sourced locally. Every single ingredient used on the menu is of the best quality. Even the olive oil used, Franci or Poggio Stenti, are 2 of the best olive oils that we have ever tried. If you like steak, you will love the steaks at Il Pozzo, they are the best we've had at any restaurant in the world (both the rib steak and the traditional bistecca alla fiorentina). The steaks are super fresh, soft, flavorful, thick cut, and delicious. In addition to the steak, Il Pozzo's Pinci is our absolute favorite anywhere. Hand rolled pasta either with breadcrumbs, or ragu of slow cooked meat in tomato sauce and wine, both are incredible. If you can't decide, you must try both! For dessert, the ricotta cheese with cantucci crumbles and honey is incredible. The ricotta cheese has the texture almost of panna, and is perfect alongside a glass of Moscadello or Vin Santo (Simone has MANY Moscadello and Vin Santo to chose from). Now the wine list.... Simone is the most knowledgeable person we have met on Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Classico, Sangiovese and all of the wines of Tuscany in general. Wine is a passion of Simone's he truly loves Sangiovese and the wines of Tuscany, and knows absolutely everything about every single vintage, producer, etc. His wine list is incredible and features all the best producers of Montalcino, Chianti, and all the wines of Italy for that matter, this includes new vintages as well as a large selection of older vintages carefully stored in their cellar. A visit to Trattoria Il Pozzo is not complete without trying their Gin, "Il Ginus". Simone from Il Pozzo and friend Gianluca Turchi from the Vino al Vino wine shop began making their own gin about 2 years ago, and it is amazing. Made from all local ingredients including juniper berries, olive leaves, and more. The result is an incredible, traditional London Gin that also expresses the local terroir of the area. It is incredible and like no other Gin we have tried. Grazie mille Simone and the entire team at Il Pozzo for the incredible meal. We will be back very soon!

We didn’t have a reservation, but they found a table for us even if it was fully booked. Big choice of local wine and waiter recommend wine specially for our choice of the meal. Delightful trattoria in a sleepy little village. The gnocchi was the nicest I've ever eaten, light and perfectly balanced with the truffles which didn't overpower. The bistecca was of excellent quality as you'd expect from this area of the world. The wine menu was equally impressive, with a large selection. Both the food and the drink was very reasonably priced and the staff were lovely. I'd recommend booking ahead, as it was very busy on the Sunday night we went.

In una Montalcino dove la ristorazione non sempre è all'altezza della situazione ecco un posto che brilla di luce propria. Ottima gestione e, pur avendo ordinato cose semplici, ho constatato un'ottima qualità intrinseca della materia prima e una molto buona capacità nella preparazione. La classicissima Fiorentina ti dice tutto se non è di eccellente qualità e cotta perfettamente, qui, la prova è stata superata! Finalmente una bella carta dei vini con proposte alternative, ero veramente stufo di trovare in tutti i ristoranti ed enoteche i soliti 15 noti quando nella Doc ci sono forse più di cento produttori! highly recommended.

Abbiamo partecipato alla serata del 27/11/2025 di “Fra borghi e cantine” nel ristorante Il pozzo. Siamo state accolte con loro calore, personale davvero gentilissimo, ti fanno subito sentiere a tuo agio. Ambiente stupendo, molto rustico ma al contempo elegante. La serata a dir poco spettacolare con una selezione di vini stupenda, azienda Col d’Orcia, qualità prezzo davvero altissima. Anche il cibo molto buono, probabilmente ci aspettavamo qualcosina di più ma dato il prezzo direi tutto giustissimo. Ringraziamo in particolare Simone, per la sua simpatia e gentilezza oltre ovviamente la professionalità. Grazie a tutti per l esperienza <3

Siamo stati in questo ristorante per pranzo nel periodo del Benvenuto Brunello. Siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti dalla proposta e dai suggerimenti del personale di sala, professionale e accogliente. I primi del giorno, dei pici con i broccoli, con l'aggiunta fuori menù della mollica tostata era ottimo e adatto a non appesantirsi prima della fiorentina. Carne morbida e saporita. Buona scoperta da tenere in considerazione per nuovi viaggi nella zona di Montalcino.

Ristorante assolutamente da provare se siete in zona, la prenotazione è obbligatoria proprio perché è super gettonato! Abbiamo fatto una cena quasi tutta vegetariana, SUPER TOP! Anche se abbiamo dovuto provare i fegatelli: poco fotogenici, ma davvero buoni 😍🫶

Piacevolissima cena in questo delizioso ristorante al centro di un paese che sembra una cartolina. Ottime le pietanze della tipica cucina toscana e soprattutto il vino: due bottiglie di un eccezionale Brunello - annata e riserva - della cantina Carmignano. Spettacolare!

Ottima trattoria nel piccolo paesino di Sant'Angelo in colle. Si affaccia proprio nella piazzetta principale. Consigliato se ci si trova in orario di pranzo o cena visitando il luogo.

Trattoria a conduzione familiare, cucina del territorio, situata in un luogo ameno ; il parcheggio dista circa 80 metri ed è gratuito. Pasta fatta in casa, bistecca alla fiorentina di ottimo qualità cucinata alla griglia. Pinci al tartufo bianco buoni, pappardelle al cinghiale ottime, misto brace ottimo. Peccato per il brasato di vitellone al brunello troppo salato. Dolci semplici e genuini fatti in casa. Personale cortese e disponibile. Ottima la carta dei vini, soprattutto rossi. Conto adeguato.

We came back to the restaurant, after we’ve already ate there 4 years ago on our honeymoon. Back then, we only had pasta and loved it. Now we wanted to have the bistecca fiorentina here, but this was disappointing for me personally. We were requesting the meat to be medium, but it was mainly rare. After giving some pieces to the waiter to roast it again to be medium, they returned it, but it was still raw in the inside. Furthermore I was missing flavor in the meat (we guess it was too young - being Gastronomic people ourselves and having eaten plenty of bistecca fiorentina already, we can rate realistically). Nonetheless, the lady who owns the restaurant and all the waiters were absolutely lovely and we can overall recommend the place. I would however prefer other restaurants for the bistecca. Seeing the defensive responses from the restaurant on other reviews, I hope I will be spared 😅

Cibo discreto, servizio piuttosto antipatico per vari motivi. Abbiamo preso una fiorentina da 1.3kg (così ci è stasto detto al momento di sceglierla prima della cottura), messa poi in conto per 1.6kg. Sarebbe opportuna maggiore trasparenza.

Tutto sommato non male, ma se trovi scritto cinghiale alla cacciatora, non ti aspetti lo spezzatino. Qualità di livello turistico, mi aspettavo un livello un tantino più alto. Ultima nota: in una città come Montalcino, servire qualsiasi tipo di vino, senza calice, è come minimo un oltraggio. Personale cordiale, bella location immersa tra archetti e panorama: mi aspetterei di più, ma tutto sommato non male.

Lovely location. Too pricey overall. It was 35 Euros for a mixed plate of meats & cheeses, a zucchini pecorini salad, 2 lemon sodas. Suggestions I’d make are: Charge 1 or 1:50 euro for aqua instead of 2:50 (they do this lower price near the main plaza in Siena) and preferably bring the bread in a basket or holder of some kind, not a paper bag. Getting a paper bag before you start your meal in an otherwise classy restaurant seemed out of character. Maybe add some olive oil on a small plate so people can sit back & enjoy. Lastly, the wine list is varied & extensive but sometimes on a Sunday afternoon a customer may just want a half litre of house wine for 7-8 Euros to relax along with some crostini.

Non ho mai affermato che il caldo fosse colpa vostra e qualche volta capita di volersi fermare a mangiare senza averlo programmato. Quello che ho scritto è una semplice constatazione: nelle giornate calde nei tavoli vicino alla porta non c'è aria. Faccio un'altra constatazione: la gestione dei rapporti con i clienti non è per tutti. Andata a pranzo. Raccomandazione: se vi capita di andarci in una giornata estiva, ricordatevi di chiedere di potervi sedere in veranda e non vicino all'entrata, li manca l'aria e rischiate di farvi una bella sauna. Ho preso un antipasto del giorno con zucchine, pecorino di Pienza e aceto balsamico e una grigliata mista. Non ho mangiato male. Servizio sufficiente.

Ci sono andato dopo aver letto recensioni entusiaste di questo posto. Purtroppo, questa volta, non posso confermare. Cominciamo col dire che non esiste un vino della casa ( scelta loro) ed il vino rosso più economico era 5.5 euro a bicchiere (10cl) . Il tagliere di salumi e formaggi aveva due porzioni di pecorino della stessa qualità... E le costine erano durissime! Di contro buoni gli gnocchi al tartufo e il brasato. Coperto: 2,5 euro. Prezzi in linea con la zona... Forse sono abituato troppo bene a Siena!! Attenzione il cellulare nella zona prende poco, quindi portatevi la navigazione in anticipo. Dalla piazza sopra il ristorante il panorama e' divino!

Service was good, but not great. Food was very disappointing, my braised steak was covered in a mush of vegetables that looked extremely un appetizing, and the side of potatoes tasted like salt, not like a salted potatoes, no, just salt. Maybe the other dishes are better.
