My new favorite Mexican restaurant. 9 of us ate here around 3pm. I sampled everyone's food. Our server Rocio was so helpful and kind. It was busy but the kitchen got our food out fast. The drinks were on point. Prices are reasonable.. portion are huge. And to top it off they make their own flan. Can't wait to go back.
Delicious 🤤 Mexican 🇲🇽 Restaurant - fresh and tasty! Friendly and professional service. Recommended to go 😍
Everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere is on point. I really only get the carne asada lettuce wraps. Good amount of food. The Cadillac margarita are tasty!
We had lunch Friday 12/19/25 at 11:27am. It's easy to spot in normal traffic. There is one handicap ♿️ space in the parking lot. It's easy to navigate a wheelchair inside the restaurant. They have outdoor seating here and allow dogs on the patio. No wait to be seated. They have coke products here. K had a cheese 🧀 enchilada, taco 🌮, rice & beans combo ($15.99) with a diet coke. My auntie got the two tacos 🌮 lunch special with rice, beans ($10.99) and a water. What great deal for the lunch special. I had two beef flautas with rice, beans ($17.99) and a coke. My flautas were really juicy and the rice was moist. The food was delicious.
I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Family owned business. They have all kinds of burritos and everything is great! They just expanded there menu. Is a little pricey but worth it!
Very nice local spot for great Mexican food. I've been eating here for close to 10 years, and although this place has changed its look and been upgraded to a full restaurant with a bar over the years, the food has always been great and remains the same. They have a patio for outdoor seating and plenty of indoor tables, or you can sit at the bar and watch some sports. The food is always delicious! I highly recommend this spot. There are many different dishes they offer and no matter what you try, I am sure you will enjoy it.
This is a friendly, family owned Mexican restaurant. The chips are fresh and the salsa is addicting. My husband loves their cheese enchiladas. The interior is spacious and has multiple seating areas with cute decor, there is also outdoor seating. I was impressed that the owner was willing to make refried beans specially for me without lard. 👍 Extremely welcoming, my hubs new fav Mexican restaurant.
This quiet gem is the Mexican restaurant you’ve been longing for! That’s right . I’ve been wishing there was a cozy mom and pop style Mexican restaurant nearby that I could feel welcomed and enjoy hanging with the local friends here. I’m loving the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff wearing beautiful colorful Mexican style dresses. And onto the food. Their humble menu has it all and I tried their beef chimichanga and it didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed a delicious Jamaica 🌺 drink. We also tried their rolled tacos and they weren’t bad at all. I liked sitting outside watching the traffic go by on Mission Gorge. We will go back.
Always a great go-to for a sit-down or take-out kinda place. Food is always fresh and delicious. This time I had a taco de adobada with no onions it was delish, and the chimichanga is always a hit with my mom. Great bar selection is always a plus even though most of the time we get beer. Service is always friendly and great. Parking can be rough during busy times and the parking stalls are kinda tight. Anyway, one of my favorite places to stop and eat at when I'm visiting.
Best Mexican food in San Diego and Santee. Seriously great food, awesome atmosphere with friendly service and tasty margaritas. Nice to finally find a place to sit down with a good ambiance to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine. Plus (unlike most places around San Diego) they serve free chips and fresh salsa while you wait for your food. Their new outdoor deck is awesome, too. Looking forward to when they finish their remodels and their new bar. Definitely worth checking out.
Great Mexican food done in the hour. A bit slow because of that. But worth the wait. Chile relleno is a must!
The food was tasty and was served up really hot. I ordered takeout. Price was moderate/high for the amount and quality. The California burrito roll was good, but I thought there was supposed to be a rolled taco inside; I didn't see it, but it was tasty overall. The Pollo asada plate was a touch on the dry side but had good flavor. The Pollo quesadilla was of an average size and flavor; not bad but not something I'm raving about. Just these 3 items was about $50 not including tip. The decor and atmosphere was pleasant and clean. The folks working there were friendly and I was greeted promptly. It was a nice overall experience. My order was correct and made in a decent amount of time. The included salsa was flavorful. Overall, the experience was good but it doesn't really offer anything for me that would make me think of this place first when thinking about Mexican food. Would I go back? Yes, but it's not a "destination" on my personal list of restaurants. By all means, try this restaurant out and support a local small business.
My pregnant self was craving birria, and I wasn't as disappointed as I thought. The seasoning was a little strong off, but close enough to what I'm used to. My husband's burrito was good. The salsas could be better. They should offer a really spicy one for customers who can handle it. Our bilingual waitress was awesoke, for sure, very attentive at all times.
It appears cleaner than most places in Santee..I didn't like the quality of the horchatcha. Cool to see the customers changed from old Mexican style to white old people and black people ....I'll try again at lunch time. Hoping Obama or George Bush visit soon.
Ever smell or taste old lard? It's very unique. My early farm life raising pigs and cattle offered me these unique experiences. For once in my life I only ate half of my torta. I thought I ordered carnitias but cariasada arrived, the meat was very salty and it had that unique smell and aftertaste reminding me of my poor upbringing. Wife never orders corn tortillas and waitress quickly swapped them for flour when asked. The staff is friendly and atmosphere is nice but we came for the food recommendations.
I wish I knew what food some of these reviewers are eating. We tried the rolled tacos and quesadilla. The rolled tacos were completely bland with very little beef. Mostly thick, dry fried tortilla with some mediocre toppings... lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole. Nothing of particular interest , the quesadilla was not very good either, I question if the "cheese" is actually cheese... couldn't quite tell. Regardless, this place is completely passable. The service wasn't terrible but definitely wasn't good. Hence 3 stars. The lady just didn't seem to want to be there.
Extremely disappointing service.I called at 8:00 to place an order, but no one was picking up, and I wasn’t able to do so until around 8:10. My order was for five Carne Asada burritos, all cut in half and individually wrapped, which came out to $81. I arrived at the restaurant about ten minutes past the pickup time they provided, yet my food still wasn’t ready. This alone made it a disappointing experience; however, it only got worse when I started sharing the burritos with my friends. I noticed that out of the ten halves I ordered, only four looked like normal-sized burritos. The rest were so small that I felt embarrassed to give each friend such a tiny portion. For reference, the smaller ones I received had fillings (meat, pico, and avocado) that, at best, equated to two small street tacos, like the ones made with mini tortillas. Furthermore, they were stingy with both the avocado and pico portions. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience for an $80 purchase. Honestly, I would have been better off buying beef burritos from Taco Bell at $1.60 a piece.
I originally was gonna go to the nearest taco shop and get me a fish taco, But passed by this restaurant and thought I would give it a try. I ordered a shredded beef chimichanga with rice and beans. The burrito was really soggy when I cut into it with a fork all that came out was water and mushy beans. There was a little bit of shredded beef in there so I cut open the burrito to eat the meat inside no flavor all I can say the best thing about this place was the chips and salsa not even the salsa just the chips the waiter asked me how the food was and I told him I didn’t really care for it too much. It had no flavor and he just said oh OK. Well, you ready to pay your bill now? I paid pay the bill even left the tipand won’t return. Nothing about that place was authentic
