An oasis of excellent coffee in a wasteland of gas station joe.
Stellar service with a great crew!! A wide selection of coffee and food and very low wait times. They're always open to give recommendations and accomodate their customers with a positive attitude. Very clean bathroom and plenty of places to sit. 11/10 recommend for avid coffee and nice vibe enthusiasts!
This place is a hidden gem. They know their coffee and have great flavours.
Our barista, Sam, was outstanding. She was knowledgeable and professional. My coffee order is unique and she always made sure it was done correctly. The new cafe is delightful and a great addition to the town.
This is a great coffee shop, in a neat little village. Food was excellent and well priced. Coffee was VERY good. We'll definitely be stopping in again.
This coffee shop is amazing. The staff is great, the coffee tasted amazing and they had the BEST blueberry scone I have ever tasted. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Great job to the owners, operators and staff for creating an awesome coffee shop!!
Taking the scenic route back home and googled coffee shops. This place came up so we decided to stop and so glad we did!! Delicious coffee, hot chocolate and yummy blueberry scones! The staff was very friendly too!
As a fan of specialty coffee from cities like Philly NYC and Chicago, this place is really excellent for where they are. They take care to dial in the perfect shot of espresso. Although some baristas are better than others there’s very few cafe’s in the ADK’s that are performing at this level. Thanks guys!
Very cool cafe with a tasty well made cappuccino. Was not a fan of the tunes being played which does add to the atmosphere. Great place nonetheless!
The girl with the bows in her hair was an excellent hostess. Best coffee I've ever had. Perfect service. Five stars.
Finding a fantastic cup of coffee is not just a blessing, it's a necessity! My annual vacation to Schroon Lake is even better because of 9 Mile Coffee who provides me with much needed caffeine expertly brewed, delicious breakfast sandwiches (GF available!), decadent baked goodies, and warm gracious service.
It’s the only place for great coffee in the area. But even though it’s the only place they do have really great coffee. Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing as well. My wife and I always make it a point to do breakfast here at least once per visit. Just a must visit place!
This is one of if not the best coffee shops in the Adirondacks. Great coffee, good menu, and the food was great as well. One of Schroon's standouts.
5/1/25 - Well...... $2 for the double now.... I guess the word got out... 🥺😢😭 Get the double meat/everything option for your breakfast sandwich! The best deal for the $! (Please keep this a secret though so the price doesn't increase 🙊) ***updated Sat. 11/2/24 ... can you find a business owner who is more involved and serves his customers with excellence like Andrew? (No, you cannot) Great staff and fresh delicious choices - A+ - lifetime fan
The iced oat milk lattes are spot on, albeit a bit pricey compared to my local NC spots, but totally worth it on vacation. The service could use a bit more upbeat vibe. And depending on business they can get backed up. Regardless, it’s excellent and the positives far outweigh the one or two negatives.
LOVE this place!! We came on Thursday and then again on Monday because we loved it here so much. We got the BLT, grilled cheese, and turkey sandwiches and the cold brew (each sandwich comes with chips or a cookie). The food is GREAT and they have SUCH friendly staff too!! We had Brianna on Thursday who was really nice and helpful, and Katie on Sunday who was super charismatic and friendly! The coffee is AWESOME too, easily my favorite coffee in NYS! New favorite place in Schroon Lake, and I've been coming to Schroon during the summer for over 10 years! Highly recommend!
Absolutely thrilled to share our delightful experience at Mile 9 Coffee! From the moment we stepped in, the fresh and modern farmhouse atmosphere welcomed us warmly, making it the perfect spot for a small town coffee shop. The friendly and fun baristas added to the charm, chatting and playing with our toddlers, which made the visit even more enjoyable for the whole family. The iced Americano and coffee were nothing short of perfection, delivering rich flavors. Their New York bagels with cream cheese were a hit with our daughters—they simply couldn't get enough! My wife and I were equally impressed with the breakfast sandwich, made it a double so it was enough to split with a Nutella croissant, which was an indulgent treat. The cafe also thoughtfully provided games for the kids, allowing them to have fun while we savored our meal. Mile 9 Coffee is a must visit.
Great maple salted latte, they gave a perfect crema and was not overly sweet!!
The coffee and food is great! This place can get busy depending on the amount of tourists/time of year, but the service is quick so it makes up for it. The dark matter coffee is the best! I stopped here every day on vacation to get coffee to go before driving into the mountains, and it made the week much better having this place here.
My wife and I really enjoyed our time here, we both had lattes and we split a sandwich. Both were great. The atmosphere was wonderful too and there are plenty of comfortable places to sit. In the back there are games too!
Great 3rd wave pit stop! We were driving on 87N and needed coffee. My wife randomly googled this place and we were pleasantly surprised to find good coffee and great equipment. The breakfast sandwich was good to boot. If you're staying in the area it would be a great daily coffee stop. Service was also quality and everyone was friendly. We would stop again!
I can't say enough great things about this cafe. Delicious coffee and food, relaxing and friendly ambience, and fast wifi. This is the perfect spot to get a bite to eat while you get some work done! Easily my favorite cafe in the Adirondacks. I only wish they stayed open later into the evening!
Great atmosphere! Amazing coffee! When I go to Schroon lake this is the place I go to to grab a quick bite to eat and a maple iced coffee. They have many dairy substitutes so they are pretty accommodating to people's dietary needs.
Breakfast sandwiches were amazing and the coffee is excellently made.
It's been very difficult finding a coffee shop in the Adirondacks that's capable of making a good latte. Most either make it too sweet or too watered down, and in both cases, the taste of the espresso gets lost in the noise. I ordered a 20 oz mocha (a very easy size to accidentally overdo the milk, and again, lose the espresso) but it came out nearly perfect. The coffee flavor was excellently blended with notes of chocolate, neither overpowering the other, done so in an impressively large drink. This is also one of the only coffee shops in the Adirondacks with an updated exterior and interior. This place not only makes you want to come back, but it makes you want to stay. ☕
9 mile is one of my favorite places in Schroon! It’s a beautiful coffee shop with delicious lattes and even better pastries. All of the food I’ve gotten here is great as well. The staff are all so friendly and even when they’re super busy, they do a great job getting everyone’s drinks out quickly. Everything about this place is great!
Great dark roast coffee. Always look forward to seeing Kim! Nice young lady. Pleasant and personable!
Cute atmosphere and amazing coffee! I loved their food, too - so tasty! The staff was so friendly (thank you!!) and it's nestled in the cutest town! Love it here, will be back! :-)
On my trip down from UVM, and crossing Lake Champlain at Charlotte on 6am ferry, I was looking for great coffee, and a quick breakfast sandwich. Not much is open, but 9 Mile Coffee popped up on my search, and it was one of the best I’ve found in that sparsely populated area of NY’s High Peak Wilderness area! The coffee selection’s were excellent, and the egg sandwich crafted carefully, by the extremely polite and welcoming staff. I will keep the 9 Mile Coffee on my list of stops when on my numerous future treks to University of Vermont!! ;0)
Best pumpkin spice latte ever! Not too sweet! Nice food and other snacks as well.
Delicious coffee! We got a cortado and a banana latte. Highly recommend both! Excellent staff and very cute inside. 😊
Delicious coffee, great service! Cinnamon rolls are sooo good!! Highly recommend stopping by!
This place is a true gem! Great service, delicious coffee and modern cozy atmosphere. Love it!
We stopped at this coffeehouse on our way home from Lake Placid for a quick breakfast sandwich and some coffee. The breakfast sandwiches were top notch. Highly recommend adding the maple cream!! What a treat! The coffee was delicious, atmosphere and service were great. We will definitely stop in while traveling in the future!
Don't miss stopping in for a coffee and/or a bite to eat when in the Schroon Lake area you won't be disappointed!
Absolutely incredible. 9 Mile is unimaginably inimitable in both taste and style. I’ve gotten the Nutella Iced Latte about 30 times, along with a toasted plain cream cheese bagel, and both never fail to disappoint. Give that guy Logan a raise, he’s a G
It's hard to find good coffee outside of NYC. So I never expected there to be a 10/10 coffee shop that makes their own syrups in the middle of the Adirondacks. If you're North of Lake George 9 Mile is worth the commute.
We came to Schroon Lake for spring break and going to 9 Mile Coffee Co became my morning ritual. Excellent lattes, especially with their maple-cinnamon-brown-sugar syrup, friendly service, and cool local vibes.
Stayed in Schroon Lake and this cozy coffee shop was our go to for a few days. The service is warm, the food is tasty and the coffee is as good as it gets. Also their smoothies are so fresh! Highly recommend! Thanks for the awesome service!
Love this place! Beautiful, comfortable, convenient place to stop in any time of year!
Liked my iced latte a lot & I'm pretty picky (like strong Flavored coffee) . The iced tea was also up to snuff according to my tea aficionado hubby (they had a whole list! ). My grilled cheese with tomato & pesto was palatable to both my 5y & myself. I wish they had a vegan sandwich option though. Several seating areas inside & 3 outside front deck. Inside is sparsely decorated but appealing. Nice strong air conditioning & clean bathroom.
Amazing coffee & breakfast sammies, who would have known this small town in the middle of no where would have such a gem! Coffee was brewed perfectly and strong...just how I like it outside of a expresso. Definitely try the maple cream on your bagel or croissant.
Super cute with great creative drink choices and a delicious cinnamon bun in an awesome location. Cafe itself has a good amount of comfortable seating. Would definitely go back if in the area!
Stopped by on our way from Vermont to New Jersey. I got an Ethiopian pour over and a caprese sandwich. Both were excellent. I'd come here every other day if I lived in the area, but definitely will come again next time I'm nearby.
I am highly satisfied with the coffee and service provided by the team here. The kindness and compassion these people have was a bright spot in my weekend. I can’t recommend them enough!
I’m from out of state, but I visit the area a couple times a year and this coffee shop is one of the highlights of our trip each time. My whole family enjoy the breakfast options, hot and iced drinks and the atmosphere. I’d give this place a 6 Star review if I could. : )
Just stopped in a few days ago for a chai tea for me and frosted lemonade for my grandson. Both were delicious; my brewed chai better than most places. Friendly service but long wait - maybe they were busier than usual ?
Not a coffee fan, but loves chai and it was executed to perfection! Staff were nice, the product tasted incredible, and it's right on a beautiful main strip in Schroon Lake, NY!
Sweet and welcoming faces greet you when you first walk in. I asked the nice lady behind the counter if she could make a mocha cappuccino as I didn’t see the option on the menu and she replied with “Whatever will make you happy I’ll try to do.” She made a very delicious cappuccino for being they didn’t do it normally. The caprese sandwich I ordered was so good I had to get another. It was sort of crunchy but also delightfully squishy where the balsamic sat on the bread with the tomato juices running from the fresh tomato. I’m a big foodie and serious about wanting something with flavor and texture. It’s very clean here, very welcome and so beautiful. I give it a billion stars if I could. Thank you ladies for a great experience and atmosphere. -Angelina & Tyler
Cute coffee shop. They serve breakfast until 3! Build your own breakfast sandwich and the coffee is good for real.
9 Mile Coffee Co. is adorable. It is small with a large vibe about it. We ordered three drinks and a breakfast item. It was insanely busy and the baristas were running out of product. Two of our drinks were either a tea product or almond milk base. One of the coffees we ordered was with 1% milk. A barista approached us to let us know they had run out of 1% milk and asked what milk we would like instead. We let the barista know we would like almond due to not having the 1% milk on hand. Without hesitation the barista said “okay.” There was no interaction letting us know that almond milk was not an option. The drink was up and the barista handed us the drink stating it was made with whole milk. When questioned about it, the barista did not say anything and kept working due to the line of drinks forming. We would have paid the extra $1.00 for almond milk, that was not the issue. The issue is, when asked what kind of milk we would like due to not having 1% and stating almond milk would be the requested milk, there was no hesitation from the barista. Instead the drink was made with a milk that the individual could not drink and therefore thrown out. My suggestion is that in the future if a product is gone, do not ask an open ended question as to what milk or product would then be requested. Rephrase the question to “currently we are out of 1% milk, our other options are whole milk or for an additional fee we also have oat, almond or…” We were disappointed, however, would still recommend this coffee shop in the future as our first interaction the day before was fantastic.
Good coffee. Small store. Kind employees. Good place to go with a friend or a date and chat, catch up about life. I recommend this place. If coffee is your thing and you also want to eat something, this can be a good option for you as well. Looks neat.
This place has a great vibe and ample seating inside for it's size. The menu is balanced and has something for everyone. The portions of food are good, but are inconsistent. The wait can be up to 30 minutes for order. Parking in this town is an issue.
I am a coffee snob and I made a special trip from Lake George first to enjoy nature in Autumn along the way and second because I thought it had a good chance to make a quality latte. Spent an hour plus here reading my book and 'yes' the coffee hit the bell.
Great coffee, and also bought a bag of "dark as hell" beans. Very crowded for a summer mid-week, and the wheelchair access for me was stressful... the ramp is too short, not allowing me to open the door unaided. The line of young people gave me good vibes. I'm an old man, but I like listening to youth and seeing them enjoy life & a great cup of coffee. I went to 9 Mile on a mission to add a mug to my collection, but all they had was the "custom" clay mugs for $42... I could buy two bags of whole beans, and a couple of lattes for that price. Oh well.
Iced latte wasn’t that great, but the chai latte was good! The vibes were good! Some very young children came in and were loud which is fine but between the just-okay coffee & the noise, we decided to leave to find a quieter spot.
Meh. Nothing special. Coffee was fine but the teenagers running the show really couldn't care less. Plenty of places to get a cup of coffee. If that's what you're going to specialize in, you really oughta focus on creating a reason to come back.
The drinks and food are fantastic! We came back multiple times a day because the coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and smoothies were delicious. Our biggest influence of our review is the customer service. Each time we went it took 30-45 minutes to get through the line, order and wait to pick it up. While this shop is busy, there is a lack of customer service and urgency in getting things out in a timely manner. A line of 8 customers should not take 20-30 minutes to get through. The staff atmosphere also seemed off. The bar was left unattended with a long line waiting multiple times and they seemed annoyed while working. Overall the food is great, but the service lacks tremendously.
Stopped in here during a long drive to get drinks and sandwiches. After waiting in line for 10-15 minutes, was told it would be 20-30 minutes for two (cold) turkey sandwiches. Since we couldn’t wait that long we just got the iced chai, which after another 10-15 minutes we receive and it was…incredible!
I have mixed thoughts on the place. Over the course of the past couple weeks sometimes I wait for 25 plus minutes for a coffee and sometimes I don’t. And this is even when it’s not super busy. Sometimes staff is super nice and sometimes they are quite rude. Coffee is okay, a little bitter for me. The place is gorgeous though.
Food options were much more limited than the online menu made it seem. Unfriendly staff. Food and coffee tasted good, at least.
Everybody is friendly, atmosphere is nice, but this place is incredibly slow. Pricey for basic coffee and food.
Nice little shop with friendly staff. However, key reason to go is for coffee. The ratio’s completely off for a latte; VERY steamed milk heavy. Would advise focusing less on size / volume, and halve the cup size and milk for a better taste and balance. Was a bit disappointed on quality given the price.
I generally don't like giving low stars, especially for an independent business, but hopefully this review will be constructive. I will add that I didn't eat here, so I can't comment on the food. I only ordered a latte to go. The café was busy, so I understand waiting in line to order, and then waiting for my drink. However, after ordering I waited more than 30min (45min) at the counter for my drink. I began seeing new people come and go. I tried to get the attention of a barista but it appeared as the staff wasn't making eye contact, yet chatting with their friends. I did ask the status, and was told they're working on it. I noticed a cup sitting on the counter for a while and eventually (well after the busy rush had ended) got someone's attention again and asked if the cup that had been sitting there was mine. It was. They said "oh we forgot" and turned around. It was no longer hot and forthed milk was deflated. The taste was fine, a little acidic, but that is popular at many cafes now. I understand things happen, but it doesn't take much to be nice, and apologize for oversight/ offer to remake it. The coffee is fine, not great, but not bad. The atmosphere is also fine, but with high ceilings is a little loud. As I said I didn't have any food so I can't comment on it. It did look decent though. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but if I was in town, wasn't in a hurry and in need of a coffee I'd give it another shot. Hopefully that was an anomaly.
The coffee was good, unfortunately service was awful and I will not go back. Sadly, I think the barista who took my order may have been racist. She didn’t understand the order “one cortado” after I repeated it about 6 times. I’m Hispanic, brown skin, native Spanish speaker and proficient in English, my accent may be different, but not that difficult to understand. A seasoned employee came to assist her and got my order quickly. The same barista started to prep my order, when she saw my name on the cup, she intentionally left the cup aside. I was observing her, after five minutes of my order being ignored, I asked her why is my order not taken care of. The seasoned employee intervened again and my order was finalized. I’m just buying coffee, paying the same as everyone else, I expect to be treated as any other customer. This girl needs to be trained properly so she learns about diversity or find another job…. We had such a beautiful experience with Schroon Lake people and town, except for this barista at 9 Mile coffee.
You are going to wait 20 minutes for just a drip coffee. Your cup will sit behind 20 going to the Batista just for a drip coffee. Be different, be spectacular. Why should people wait 20 minutes for a drip that the cashier can pour. Leave us Patton's half and half, milk whatever so we can make our coffee and be on our way. The idea is not using Starbucks chain of coffee. Getting drips out and bar in it's not complicated. Wasted massive man power and nothing is moving with teenage girls who are not focus on moving lines and streamline. Too you underpaid probably. Let's gets this moving if you are interested in making a functionional stream line cafe.
The coffee (or should I say || cold brew||) had a good taste, BUT but but... this is the first place I've ever asked for an iced coffee, emphasis on the word "coffee", and got a cold brew AND was charged $5 dollars for this cold brew when I ordered under the assumption I'd be charged $3 for an iced coffee. Hey, I wouldn't have even cared if I was charged $3.50 for the ice, but to completely change my order to "cold brew" because it's made "special" to be "cold". Not a good explanation. If someone orders an iced coffee, they should have coffee poured over ice. Not an entirely different thing AKA your "cold brew". This bothered me so greatly because I have never had as dumb of an experience as this. Compare your place to a Starbucks with me: if I walked in to a Starbucks and asked for an iced coffee, they wouldn't give me a cold brew and charge me for a cold brew, they would give me an iced coffee. Why is it reasonable for you to do so? Such a small complaint when you boil it down, and most likely a very small fix. Your business may be good in other aspects, but this is so dumb. Maybe put up a sign that says "Sorry, we don't serve regular iced coffee. If you want cold coffee, you have to order a cold brew!"
We stopped here before hiking to grab breakfast and lunch for later. We spent $66 on two sausage egg and cheese croissants, two apple bacon turkey sandwiches, a cinnamon roll, a chai latte and coffee. The cinnamon roll was excellent and coffee good, but that's about it. Chai tasted like weak star anise steeped in water. The croissant were soggy on the breakfast sandwich and the sausage was a not great cheap patty. The sandwich was ok but to my suprise had microwave bacon on it. So $12.50 for a sandwich and they couldn't even be bothered to put actual bacon on it. Normally after an experience like this I would move on and never return (which I will), but the most disappointing part overall was it took 30 minutes from ordering to get the food. My chai was room temp at that point.
I ordered two coffees, and both were awful—barely drinkable. The sandwich I got was available in half or whole sizes. When I asked about the size of the half, the woman behind the counter rudely said it was just a regular piece of bread cut in half. However, when I received the sandwich, the bread was huge, and the half-size was as big as a regular sandwich. To top it off, the entire order cost me over $30. The poor service and subpar quality of the products were very disappointing, especially for the price.
