The food was amazing. The sandwiches are stupidly good. The service was excellent, quick, fast and nice. The atmosphere was amazing felt like a cozy winter cabin
We had delicious coffee drinks and fruit freezes. My daughter and granddaughter enjoyed the shaded tables outside while we waited.
The nicest people ever, super friendly Love the Caramel Macchiato My family and I stop by every time we go to the lake
Great little coffee shop! Friendly staff and great food and drinks in the morning
Little bit of a trick to find if you're just driving through. It's in the town center. That said it's a gem of a find for coffee and breakfast snacks up in the mountains.
Very friendly staff and my smoothie was delicious!
Probably the best croissant sandwich I’ve ever had…
Recommend the turkey wrap🔥
What a lovely place. Great iced coffee.
Such a cute, charming little café!
Eat to live. Coffee to wake. Locals choice
Cute cafe
My daughter loved it
Great food and coffee
For breakfast the bagel and cream cheese is so good I had to get a 2 one and love the decoration they have a ring hook game and it has a out side place to eat and they have nice employees there even though they are a small business it is still so good so go there.
Our go to when we’re in the area ☺️ Quality food and beverage options.
Friendly workers
Small town coffee shop with super nice employees and really good coffee. Their jams are good too. We picked one up for the ride home
Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I enjoyed my toasted bagel with cream cheese and tomatoes. They had a couple table games to play while waiting. Some cute items to browse and purchase as well. The tea on display smelled wonderful. Next time we visit, we will be returning.
Loved this place! Great breakfast spot and super cool vibe. Joe was awesome and we were vibing on the down-tempo lo-fi when we got there. He took the time to give us a bunch of tips about roads in the area. Thank you!
The interior of the cafe was decorated cute and customer service was polite and helpful. The food was clean and tasted great. A must try
A treasure! Best coffee in town (check it out: brewed, espresso drinks, and pour-overs), and the chewy texture of the bagel itself was a very pleasant surprise. We’re so happy we found this place, it’ll be out daily breakfast and to-go lunch all week.
Delicious espresso, even more delicious breakfast croissant sandwich! All of the staff are so sweet as well. Perfect neighborhood staple.
I got the dark roast pour over & I loved it! Very deep and flavorful, just what I needed before a long day at the lake 🚣♀️
Best Find in Shaver Lake! I wasn't even looking for it, but I'm so glad I found Mountain Tripper Cafe & Tea House in Shaver Lake. We pulled off Tollhouse Road looking for coffee one morning, and this little place caught our eye. Turned out to be exactly what we needed. Eli, the owner, greeted us with a smile that felt genuine—not the fake customer service kind. He and his staff are just really friendly people who clearly love what they're doing. The whole vibe is relaxed and welcoming. The food? Way better than I expected for a small mountain cafe. I had their breakfast croissant and it was seriously good—flaky, hot, perfectly done. My wife got the everything bagel with egg and cheese and kept saying how good it was. The coffee is amazing as well, many blends to choose from. It's a little pricier than down the hill, but honestly, the quality is worth it. And when you're up in the mountains, you're not exactly spoiled for choice anyway. We've been back every time we're in Shaver now. Gets busy on weekends, but Eli and the crew handle it well. They've got seating inside and out if you want to sit and enjoy the mountain air. If you're heading to Shaver Lake, do yourself a favor and stop here. Best accidental find I've made in a while!
This place had good lattes, sandwiches, and a great atmosphere. The snow started coming down hard while we were inside cozy and snug. We got to okay with some of their fun games. I liked the turkey pesto and my wife liked the BLT. I’d definitely go back!
What a gem in Shaver Lake. They just bought the place in December 2021. They are kind of hidden back behind Bob's Market but have easy parking because of that. We had a club sandwich on sourdough instead of a wrap and it was great. They use ranch dressing instead of mayo which was good and a little different. Love the option of the Maui potato chips! Ice tea was surprisingly good and the service was great. Will have to try their espresso next time.
I came to Shaver Lake on a trip to visit my extended family and stumbled upon this wonderful cozy café. Talk about a hidden gem. The coffee was absolutely outstanding and so were açaí bowls. My younger brother bought a sandwich and he also thought it was spectacular As far as a service goes, it looked like the owner was actually Working that day. He’s extremely polite and really cares about his customers I can’t wait to come back, so happy there is finally a café here that we can go to when we are out here.
Cute little house lookin cafe, adorable fall trees outside, great latte with flavors and milk substitutes :) friendly service :)
It's a perfect spot for a breakfast/brunch bite and coffee! We ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich, cinnamon roll (sooo good!), peanut butter smoothie, and coffee. Friendly, young staff were eager to serve. We'll be back soon.
Shop opens at 7am sharp for those desperately need coffee & WiFi in the morning. Breakfast croissant & chocolate scone (hidden menu?) were both good.
A couple a really nice girls with great attitude served us some nice coffee and snacks!
Adorable local coffee shop with incredible customer service! Perfect for slow living at Shaver Lake!

Loved finding this place! It's tiny but amazing! Great coffee and tea. Delicious made from scratch breakfast sandwiches and wraps! If you are near Shaver Lake, it's worth stopping for sure!!!
Stopped in for acaui bowl and found some yummy pastries as well. Both were delicious! Service was fast and friendly.
A perfect spot to relax and eat a tasty sandwich after hiking in the Sierras or just lazing around. The staff was extremely friendly and made sure your experience there was just right. The menu items are listed as wraps but they offer bread options too. This place was exactly what I was looking for.
We ordered the cold Sage Matcha drink, hot Caramel Macchiato, the French Toast Bagel, Croissant and Morning Wrap breakfast options. Everything was good and the service was even better. Be patient and support this local business. They get very busy.

Good breakfast stop on the way out from Mono Hot Springs area.
An oasis of great coffee and good breakfast fare in the rough and rugged enclave of Shaver Lake.
I went right before they closed, not realizing they were closing soon. I ordered a vanilla latte with oatmilk. It was a bit on the sweet side, I prefer my lattes a bit less sweet. I would go back and try their other drinks, it's a cute coffee shop right in the heart of Shaver Lake. I'd like to go when they aren't closing up and try more of their menu.
The coffee's were quite good and the ambience nice, but the service was slow, especially considering we only ordered beverages.

the food was alright, i ordered a bagel with avocado and it took 20 min for an untoasted bagel with unseasoned avocado, won’t come back
The coffee is quite good, and the service was cheerful and friendly. One person's wrap was fine, but the croissant sandwiches were very disappointing. The bacon was only half cooked, and the cheese was dry and curling at the edges. The previous owner brought her A-game to every dish, and, with such a limited selection of items, the new folks need to turn their efforts up a couple of notches. The place used to be packed on Sunday's, even in the off season, last weekend there were maybe 6 or 8 people, including my party of 3.
This was my second visit to your coffee shop. The coffee was good. Unfortunately, the first time they forget my coffee, the second time they forgot my food. They were very apologetic and had all kinds of excuses.
As one of the options for breakfast on the way to the snow parks, we stopped by here to grab a quick breakfast. It is a nice little family run cafe. The food options itself is limited for vegetarians. There are some good options and we chose to grab some croissants. They could’ve been a bit crispier. The cappuccino was good.
Visited in the morning—greeted warmly by the owner and his children, which was a nice touch. I tried the lavender latte, which the owner mentioned was a popular choice, but unfortunately, it was just slightly above lukewarm. For the price, it didn’t quite deliver. Maybe the coffee options are stronger—I’m willing to give it one more shot next time I’m in town. Fingers crossed.

Paid $8 for what was truly the worse latte I’ve ever tasted. Prices on the menu are wrong and service is slow. Save your money and go elsewhere.
1 hour wait for simple pastry, high prices for low quality. Were out of what I ordered but didn’t let us know until the food had already come out, 1 hour after paying
Immediately when we walked in it was very quiet and seemed like we interrupted the employees conversation. Waited about 10 minutes for a coffee and food, which for food that’s pretty fast but being a barista myself I could’ve gotten the coffee out in less then 5 minutes. If you want a good and fulfilling meal then definitely go elsewhere.
I want to support this business and I want Shaver to have a nice coffee shop, but my last experience was disappointing. I had some great experiences here when it first opened, but things seem to be slipping. My iced latte that I ordered was not drinkable. I drank a few sips but it tasted.. stale? I'm honestly not sure how else to describe it. I'm not sure if this is a one time mistake, but the past few times I've been, I've noticed their coffee drinks are not quite the quality you'd expect for the price. Whether professional espresso training is needed for the employees, better ingredients, or something else, I hope and encourage them to nail down their espresso based drinks, as it's the foundation of their menu. The atmosphere inside has always been pleasant, but this last time it felt a little more cluttered and unkempt. Flower bouquets that have been sitting so long they've dried to a crisp, a menu with many items blocked off with post-its, a "fall drink menu" despite it being summer, etc. Again I wish Mountain Tripper the best and will give them another chance, but I also hope these things might be addressed.

They say they are open until 3 pm. Got there at 2 pm and they told me they were closing.
1star if I could give zero I would. Do NOT GO. Walked in this morning dead silence both owner & employee just stared at me. No hello , no here is the menu absolutely nothing. So i almost walked out feeling very uncomfortable 😣 I ordered my drink from the extremely disgruntled employee while the owner just stood there with hands on his hips staring at us. We are locals thought we would try this place out. Ran out of coffee asked the men behind the counter no reply just looked at us and barked at employee to make another pot. Not to mention I paid full price for 1/2 cup of coffee. Ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 drinks 38.00!$$ Ok fine on price its one of the only places in town, but zero customer service extremely rude like we were bothering them & might I add place was empty not like they were busy. Food was basic nothing special. I guess they depend on the tourists a one time stop for their business revenue. Unfortunately being a local I WILL-NOT RECOMMEND or visit this establishment again… Update : response # 2 We are extremely accurate with our review. I gain nothing from writing or embellishing a review. I just hope that people who visit our area will consider this review when visiting. We were not greeted and the lack of service was exactly as I stated. Not friendly at all. Being in the customer service industry myself I was blown away by the extremely rude service. At first with your reply I thought I had written a review for a completely different business?! I did not. Please take the time to appreciate your customers and their feedback to help you understand what good service is, or at least just acceptable. Good luck to you.
