Did a quick stop to check this place out on my last trip. Really nice store with a large variety of meat products. Picked up some sausages to bring back home in my ice chest. High quality and great flavor, especially the "Jalapeños & Cheese BBQ Style Smoked Sausage." Bring an ice chest and take a detour!

Recently my son killed 2 bucks and 1 doe last season and I used 3 different processors. I got my sausage back on one of the bucks from Maeker's and the result was unbelievable! The best deer sausage that my family and friends have ever had. Just an honest review from a person that doesn't usually leave reviews.

Owned by Martha Maeker for over 30 years. Great place to sit back and drink an ice cold Shiner, converse with the locals and Shiner Brewery employees after work. Everyone I met there is friendly, laughs, and generally enjoys everyone elses company. Highly recommend this tavern over any other in Shiner, TX as well it has the cheapest prices on Shiner of any place I have ever been.

Maekars sausage and entire array of products offer exceptional quality. I've had meat processed there as well and the packaging is the best I've seen anywhere.

Great product and service. UPS held my package a day longer and my order arrived room temp. Maekers had no problems sending another order.

Stopped by on our way through Shiner. After hearing it mentioned over and over on the local radio, we stopped. All we purchased was a link of dried sausage. Very expensive for the size bu had hopes the flavor was worth it. It wasn’t. The meat was grainy and had an old fatty taste. An expensive treat for my dogs.

I have had steers processed for many years and this the worst experience ever. Charged extra because they said steer was older than 30 months. It was a show steer and I had paperwork that showed date of birth but that was not good enough. I do not believe I received the steers that I took in. Steaks were tiny and tough. They were definitely not from the 1000# plus grain feed steers that I took in! I do not recommend using this processor for beef!
