Avis sur Werner's 5 Ninety 4 Grill Shiner
This place looks like a locals only family greasy spoon until your waitress comes and is friendly upbeat and professional. Then the food comes now you know something is up because it not only looks like it was prepared by a chef it certainly tastes like it was. I had a steak but it was not just a steak, it was the best tasting and most tender steak I have had in a very long time! I cannot recommend this place enough. It is certainly a unique find and experience. I only wish I had taken photos to show you and remind myself of this meal. Bon Appétit!
We stopped in on impulse on a Saturday for lunch. The service was good but we all ordered the buffet. The salad bar section was varied and I could have stopped there, but I had to try small portions of a few favorites. Both the barbequed chicken and brisket was cooked well and the chicken fried steak was a hit with my crew. I liked that they offer varied size portions in their meat selections do you can have a taste of those things that tempt you without overeating.
Overall, we were very impressed with Werner's Catering. Our attention was first caught when we first tried samples of their food at a bridal fair. When we came into the restaurant for a tasting, we were basically treated like royalty and the food was amazing! At one point closer to the wedding, we were even upgraded for free on one aspect of the deal which we were/are greatly appreciative of! On the day of the wedding, there were no hitches. The staff was professional and friendly. The only thing I noticed was that mashed potatoes were served instead of the twice-baked potatoes we had ordered. Not the end of the world, they were still good. My only other comment about responsiveness is that sometimes you need to email a couple times before getting a response. The owners seem to prefer phone conversations so I'd recommend calling over emailing if you would like a quick response. Overall, very impressed and would recommend. For reference: we paid 1477.35 for appetizers, dinner, and cake cutting for 90 people. Not bad.
Great Tasting Food, Waitresses Are Really Respectful and Kind, prices are a little high, selection is decent. They had buffet 2 meats and about 6 sides. Should be more selection for the price in my opinion. Based on Quality of Food ? 4 STARS out of 5. Buffet was right at $32 for 2 adults
First timer, I had the Sunday-special Chicken Fried Steak with green beans and fried okra; it was pretty decent. My date had the Grilled Cheese with fries and it was good, too. The staff was attentive and very nice. The bathrooms were also clean. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in town.
We decided to try this place on a Monday and we’re not disappointed! Kim was our server and she was great! We tried the potato skins and they were good. My husband had the rib-eye and he liked it. I had the bourbon chicken wings and they were delicious! We will go back.
This is something my husband had been wanting to try. Overall not please at all New waitress Fried pickles better at Bryan's in Moulton. My Steak was under cooked My husband load baked potatoes you could tell they put tons of butter due to the color of it and taste. Plus it had bacon bits from a can instead of fresh bacon like most places Tea tasted like they dump the whole bag in. I know some people might like that sweet Was not a very enjoyable meal For what will paid not worth the value.
Potential is there, but the bun on my burger was completely burnt. It took 45 minutes to get our appetizer and 55 to get our meals. We were also missing parts of our order, and had to ask 3 times to get it corrected. The restaurant only had about 4 tables at the time. Our young waitress was not attentive at all. Another waitress had to refill our drinks upon request (once). I addition, the cleanliness of the dining room left a lot to be desired. As a luch order for 2 people (one child) we spent about $45. For this, I would expect a much more professional, attentive, and delectable dining experience.
After several visits with bad experiences, I had to say something Was 4 stars, now down to 2, possibley 1. They do not have regular spoons... I kid you not... Ask for a spoon for the soup or cobbler... all they have are very long tea spoons. For me the star of the buffet is the chicken fried steak. The bin was empty when we walked in. And 40 minutes later when we were on our 3rd salad plate. And pretty much done... The chicken fried steak finally showed up. A few times while we were eating tables who had buffet guests were taken by new people who were told just to find a table anywhere. I even saw a couple get up and leave before their waitress came to get their order. One of them commented on everyone complaining about the food and service. It will be a long time before, or if I ever, go back again.
We normally have a great experience when visiting Werners! But the service was very slow and then the food was not what we remembered from past visits. Tables were not bused for extended periods of time. One item we ordered didn’t qualify as a sandwich since the meat was only half size of bun (the way it was served). Not that we won’t be back, cause we will. Just hope they can get it together again!
Walked in and sat down. Waitress took order and never returned. We got up and asked about the salad bar because it stated on the menu it came with one. She said yes it's over there. We went to salad bar, lots and lots of flies, gnats and old lettuce. We ordered chicken friend steak which was very good. She refilled our tea once and then never returned. We ended up going to the front and asking for the check. We were the only ones in there and we didn't get much attention. Very young waitstaff.
I normally don’t post reviews and I hate complaining about food or service, especially coming from a background of service. This place was dirty and definitely unclean. The food was raw, to the point were our pretzel twists were frozen still. The steaks were all undercooked and had absolutely no seasoning at all. Definitely would not recommend to anyone.
I used to eat here often. Usually “to go”, this past time our order came short of the few things we ordered extra and upon digging in we found this hair (in picture) around 18”+ long. A hair this long in food means zero effort for kitchen cleanliness. We called multiple times to try and resolve and received no answer.
I don’t like to complain about service, but last Sunday my kids wanted to go eat breakfast at Werner’s and it has been our worst experience ever. I was hesitant of going as we had not been in a year due to a previous experience. When we arrived at 8:45 it took about 20 minutes for our drinks to come out and our order to be taken. When our food finally came the majority of the hashbrowns were burnt, the sausage was cold, and when we asked for ketchup the waitress (Kim) grabbed a container (they use the to-go cups for ketchup) off of the table behind. That is just plain disgusting. We finally left the restaurant almost 2 hours later (for breakfast).
The worst food I've ever had. I stopped for a late lunch after touring the Shiner brewery. My husband and I chose this place to eat due to the high reviews. That was a mistake. We had appetizers and burgers, and the kids had grilled cheese sandwiches. It seemed like all of the ingredients were the lowest quality possible. The prices seemed fair enough until we realized the extremely low quality of the food. The waitress was nice. That's about the only positive thing I can share. The restaurant was filthy. The bathrooms were an atrocity. Myself and my family all had stomach aches for the rest of the day. Rough experience to say the least.
