Avis sur Larsen's Grill Simi Valley
I came here for dinner and I was sat at the bar immediately. The servers and bartenders were wonderful and very attentive. There is a variety of liquor and cocktails to choose from. The atmosphere is super upscale and chill. Great place to take a date here. Although the menu is a little pricey, you can definitely feel the freshness of the ingredients and it tastes delicious. I recommend coming here between 5 and 7 to take advantage of their happy hour deals on alcohol and food. Overall I had a fantastic experience here and I would a hundred percent come back if I had the chance.
My nephew treated my brother and me to an amazing dinner at Larsen’s Steakhouse in Simi Valley. My brother had the sliced tri-tip and ribs 🥩🍖, I had the Chardonnay-soaked cedar plank salmon 🐟🍷, and my nephew enjoyed the prime ribeye 🥩🔥. We started with the Maryland crab cakes 🦀, jumbo bacon-wrapped shrimp 🦐🥓, and dinner rolls—everything was absolutely delicious! Chris, our waiter, was fantastic—friendly, professional, and spot-on with his recommendations 👏. As someone visiting from Dallas, Texas 🤠🌵, where steaks and BBQ are king, I have to say Larsen’s hit it out of the park. I’ll definitely be back! 🌟
A great American steakhouse with some of the best staff and atmosphere of any restaurant. The staff is always attentive checking up to make sure everything is okay, while the atmosphere matches that of a steakhouse. The food for the most part was good. I got an Oscar style steak to celebrate--the steak was one of my favorites steaks I've ever tried. The butter cake is amazing, the prime rib dip sandwich...eh. Still, I definitely recommend to come to this restaurant for celebrations.
Superb, unexpectedly lavish steak restaurant in Simi Valley, better than Chili’s even though they’re wonderful, but importantly, far superior to that awful slum hole Sutter’s Mill and highly welcoming to clientele that is high-end and eclectic. Service is Beverly Hills level, attentive, polite. Great steaks from this authentic carvery, and Great burgers and sides too. We’ve at one time or another had each of these appetizers: Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Spinach Artichoke Dip Maryland Crab Cakes (yum) Filet Mignon Chili (so yum, see pic) and the only restaurant I’ve ever found that sells Filet Mignon Sliders! Highly recommend Larsen’s!
Celebrated my Parents 59th Anniversary with Chris as our Server. Absolutely Exceptional Service and Food. I love the Ambiance of this place with the lighting and Huge American Flag Encased on the Wall. This item is an off menu item. Bacon Wrapped Prime Filet with Cajun sauce and shrimp. with Mashed potatoes. Amazzzzzzzzing!! Thank you so much for making our Celebration Extra special.
Dry aged ribeye medium rare was more on the rare side. Cold water lobster tail was fantastic!! Sautéed broccolini was good. The loaded baked potato was huge!! The garlic cheese toast was really good. Really good glass of Malbec paired perfectly with the steak. Great anniversary dinner!! Super friendly staff, and very nice atmosphere. Easy parking. I highly enjoy this restaurant.
Excellent food!! Drinks!! Great service!!! For any romantic dimmer or special occasions!!!! Recommend the Tri tip, pork chops , salmon on a cedar plank . Chicken with mushrooms sauce. Artichoke dip and Jalapeños cheese deep. Molten cake.
Happy hour was great. Really crowded apparently because of the tree lighting ceremony at the Town Center. We had seats at the bar and loved it. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Sports on the TVs in front of us. We plan to go back for dinner soon.
The best prime Rib ever! And the best rolls I have ever eaten. And was happily surprised by the delicious green beans with almond slivers which were so delicious I ate every one and they were just fabulous tasting and were succulent..i will definitely be coming back and cannot say enough how each thing was done perfectly! The waitress Alexis was awesome and made this the best Christmas Eve meal I believe I have ever had! No joke. Worth every cent.
Thanksgiving dinner was excellent so was their bacon wrapped shrimp.

We recently celebrated a 70th birthday at Simi Valley Larsen’s Restaurant, and it was absolutely flawless! From planning to execution, the entire team went above and beyond to make the night very special. A huge thank you to Jaime, the General Manager, whose professionalism and attentiveness made our experience seamless from start to finish. She coordinated the private room and made sure every detail of the evening was flawless On the night of the event, Kathy and Brie, along with the rest of the server team, delivered exceptional service. Every dish arrived hot, beautifully presented, and perfectly timed. This is no small feat for a party of 14! The food was fantastic, as always, and our guests couldn’t stop raving. Maggie and the bar team were rockstars, keeping drinks flowing efficiently despite a packed house. Their speed and coordination made a huge difference. It’s clear this team takes pride in what they do. We’re regulars here, and this celebration reminded us why. Huge thanks to everyone who made it a night to remember!

Brandon was amazing! My fiancée and I were celebrating our 3-year anniversary and moving into a new place, and he made the experience phenomenal. He was fun, respectful, and incredibly helpful — even educating us on all the steaks and handpicking the perfect one for us. The food was fantastic, and thanks to Brandon, we’ve decided this will be our go-to spot for anniversaries and birthdays from now on!
My wife and I came here on a Sunday night to celebrate our late valentine day dinner. It worked out for us because my wife wanted to visit a store next door before coming here so I made reservations over OpenTable. We found parking easily in the front because this plaza usually doesn't get busy and has tons of parking spots. We checked in like 5 minutes after our reservation but I confirm on the text message that we were on the way. The inside of this restaurant is very dark, when we went to the Woodland Hills location the inside is much more brighter. It took like 5 minutes for us to get seated and we were seated toward the back. Our waitress was Danielle and she was wonderful with us. They give us complimentary bread and then we placed our food order. I went with their Chilean Sea bass (I usually get steak here) and I was able to sub out the asparagus with fries. My wife went with the Chardonnay Soaked Cedar Plank Salmon and got a side of the five cheese macaroni. Our food didn't take long to come out and we were excited to eat our meal. My wife like her Salmon and I tried it which I thought it was tasty. My Chilean Sea Bass was amazing but the rice had some hard pieces and munchy. My fries were crunchy and I don't think they have regular ketchup here unless my taste buds was off. When our waitress Danielle came back to check on us, I told her about my rice and she asked if I wanted a another side dish of rice but I told her it was fine. The highlight of the night was when I went to the bathroom and saw they have mouthwash there. I never saw that before at any steak or high end restaurant. Overall we had a good dinner and now I can say we tried the 3 Larsen location, the other one we tried was the Encino location.
Just missing a few extra touches. For my birthday my husband took me to Larsen’s. He had asked for a nice table when he made the reservation so we were seated in a nice cozy booth….Thank you! Improvement needed…For ten minutes no one acknowledged we were there. When you are charging the prices that Larsen’s is charging one expects a greeter, water poured immediately and a lovely person telling us our server will be with us soon. None of that happened. As I was just about to flag someone down our waiter, Kaevan came to our table. He was very nice and he was attentive the whole night. He made us feel very comfortable with anything we weren’t happy with and provided me with a special birthday treat at the end of dinner (pics and more at the end of the review). Kaevan took our drink orders and immediately asked if we would like an appetizer. We had plenty of time to decide what we wanted, we ordered the tuna tartare. After Kaevan left I believe a busboy asked us if we would like some water, the water never came. At almost the same time, we did appreciate when another waiter popped over and asked if we had been taken care of (he must have noticed us sitting there for a time). I did not see anyone that looked like management while we were there. The drinks arrived very quickly! Thank you Kaevan! FYI for the Bar…My husband ordered a non-alcohol beer which was a Coors Edge. It does not live up to its name. LOL It was extremely watery and lacked any flavor at all. Try Heineken 0% or any beer from the Athletic Brewing Company, they have an awesome alcohol free IPA!). The tuna tartare arrived ($25.00) and it did not disappoint. It was delicious, beautifully presented and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Next up, Tomato and Fresh Burrata Salad ($14.00). I did expect heirloom tomatoes based on the picture on the online menu but these looked like regular tomatoes. I was very disappointed as the salad was ice cold and frankly not that attractive. I’ve never been served a tomato salad that cold as tomatoes have zero flavor when served at that temperature. I tried to let it sit for a bit to kind of warm up it up but it was just too cold. The balsamic glaze was nice but not enough to save the salad. For a main course we decided on the Chardonnay Soaked Cedar Plank Salmon with asparagus ($43.00) and the New York Strip ($54.00) with a side of brussels sprouts. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the beurre blanc sauce was a lovely addition (I did not notice any chardonnay flavor). The brussel sprouts were delicious! Sadly, the New York steak was disappointing. It was very tough and we noticed it was not medium rare but more medium. Kaevan was there right after we were served the entrée’s and did not hesitate to order another steak for us. We should have asked for something else but we stayed with the New York strip. It was still very tough and had no flavor at all. I have never seen my husband salt anything like that before. The end of the meal ended when Kaevan brought out my birthday dessert…Butter Cake, Ice cream and more!! Thank you Kaevan for making my birthday dinner extra special! Overall, the experience was 90% there. Larsen's is just missing a few extra touches. We did end up boxing up half the salmon and steak. We warmed up our leftovers for lunch the next day and confirmed that the steak was definitely subpar and everything else was delicious! Addendum…Larsen’s called us and asked about our experience…VERY IMPRESSIVE! We absolutely love that a restaurant like Larsen’s has survived in Simi and we will patronize it in the future and so should you if you've read this far. :-)

Issue with water service and ordering bottled water and the bus boy wanted to remove our glasses prior to main service. I explained that we had a bottle water and he put the glasses back on the table. Five minutes later, he came over with a picture of tapwater and try to fill our glasses. We ordered a wedge salad and they served full strips of undercooked bacon has. It was sat nice and chewy. I let the manager know at the end of the night rather during our seating and she had a contest the situation. On top of that, we ordered a 8 ounce fillet to split and it looks more like a 6 ounce fillet

I had a Mommy and me trip with my son and this was to be our exquisite dining experience in Cali. It was a disappointment to say the least. The atmosphere met our expectations but the roasted chicken was undercooked- RAW RAW. My son's burger was requested medium well but it was rare and the server even seem disgusted at how raw it was. The glass of wine, the rim of the glass smelled raw as if it wasn't washed properly. I told theserver and she just brought me a new glass. They took back the burger that my son had already bit into and refired the same burger. I was more disgusted that they put something that was bitten back on the grille and didn't bother to cook a new one. Yuck! He didn't eat it when it returned. I lost my appetite and didn't order anything else. We ate the appetizer which was a cheese bread. We left hungry. The host came over and told me that heard that my food was undercooked but didn't really offer any resolution. I then paid a $90.00 bill for the cheese bread stick, a glass of wine and a raw-refired burger that was not eaten. It was cold in the restaurant and I was offered a hot cup of water to grasps to warm me up. It was not a positive experience I had hope for my son and I.

We tried Larsons for the first time and had a good experience until the very end when our server hovered over my shoulder with 25% lite up on her pay pad. She may have actually gotten that but it really wrecked the experience. $16 drinks, $50 average a plate and their servers don’t understand how rude that is??? She also made a face when I clicked on 20%. 20%!! Used to be 15% was normal and 18% meant they were amazing. Not in today’s spoiled entitled world. It’s a real shame, because every thing else was good. I saw other servers doing the same thing so it must be a normal thing there. This person got a $31 tip which means anything over two people they’re getting $50 min. 20 tabes a night is at least $1000 a night. After paying out bussers/bartenders etc they’re doing 700-800 a night. That, and we get a face for not giving an extra 5%??. They need to have a talk with their wait staff. Unbelievable
I went there and the server I saw them 3 times. Once to order, once to drop off the food, then to pay...the food was barely ok, the tri tip was from the day before and totally covered in their own sauce lukewarm. The ribs were barely ok as well...I thought this was a great place, in my opinion, it sucked. I drank a coke that was 5 dollars. The bill was 55 dollars. I was the only one. If I had a date, it would have been over a 100 dollars...I could have had better meat at Green Acers, or REDS BBQ and spent 30 dollars less....
Long time customer. Went on NYE, spent almost $300 for 2 people. I had to send back my sea bass as it was undercooked. I had to get it to-go as it took a long time to come back. My husbands ribeye seemed as if it was a grocery store ribeye. It was dry and tasteless. We were seated in the back room in plastic chairs. No compensation. This is the only place you can submit reviews. Their website doesn’t work. Disappointing.
Food was pretty good but expect more for a ‘steakhouse’ at these market prices, food server was nice and prompt, the other wait staff was good as well. The front desk help however started it off poorly and continued to make it a bad experience. This location needs some attention badly. Rude hostess, dirty glasses and overpriced food. I would recommend Wood Ranch any day over this place.

I went there today for a date and as i ordered my entree i saw a cochroach on my plate. This has never happened to me in a long time so to see it in a place apparently classy and well kept was disappointing. So i ended up not really feeling like eating anything else after that incident.
