The food was great! We ordered the beef quesadilla and a super ahodago(similar to a wet burrito) for lunch and went back for dinner and ordered 10 tacos (marinated beef, shredded beef, beef steak, fried pork and Mexican sausage). All the food tasted awesome! The quesadilla was amazing! Worth every penny! The only complaint I have is that they do not specify where their parking spots are. Not even sure if they have any because they have a handwritten notice about towing stuck to the window.. P.S.: they only accept cash..

Definitely an authentic Mexican locals spot with food that’s so tasty tastes like mom cooked it at home. HUGE family style portions too. SO tasty, fresh salsa, and good prices. Beware cash only!! Got a steak super burrito and Mexican sandwich and did not disappoint. Will be back!

TAQUERIA JIMENEZ AT SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIFORNIA I'm literally at this place right now and finished my favorite order of 3 chicken, 3 beef tacos. It also comes with beans and rice. In this video he said he wished there was onions and cilantro in his burrito, but I wonder if he just didn't notice the bar they have with fresh cut toppings to the right of the front door. I am a regular degular at this place and have not found another taco place by my home that makes the rice like they do. I can't live without this taqueria and am so grateful they stay open. It's a very small spot operated by Spanish speakers who are usually part of the family who owns this place. It is also cheap, but you would be surprised how much love they put into making each order. A hole in the wall is my favorite place to go when I'm craving Mexican food.

My wife has been on a mission for me to try taco de cabezza. Never would have thought we would find some in tahoe. One of the best taqueria in tahoe. Only thing they were closed on Wednesday and Thursday so we couldn't go back. Definitely will eat there again next time we visit tahoe hopefully soon. Authentic quality mexican food.

I had the spicy burrito with carne asada. Since I was worried about the spice, she offered to put it on the side. She also added some salsa verde just in case. I put on half the spicy. Ended up using most. You get use to it. The burrito had a creaminess that was incredible. The sour cream and cheese on top must have helped. I’ve grown up around Mexican restaurants living neat Gilroy and Watsonville CA.. Eating Mexican food on a regular basis. Well, this was as good as I’ve ever had. Hats off to them! Thank you.

CASH ONLY. But was totally worth leaving to get cash from an ATM and coming back. The burritos were huge and the meats were delicious. If you like spicy food (like actual spicy food), get the super extra spicy (ahogado) burrito. Sauce was so flavorful and brought the heat. Favorite meat ended up being the cabeza which was super tender and fatty. But the marinated beef and carnitas were both good as well.

Family run and fantastic food - after a day on the slopes the burrito was the best- it was huge!! Honestly I almost finished it but not quite. Fresh ingredients for sure. This is not your fancy date night spot- but definitely a great value for the money and I would go again while I’m South Lake Tahoe. We talked to the owner and he was super nice- just the kind of business we love to support!

Staff at my hotel nearby recommended me to this great restaurant! It’s a solidly delicious, no frills taqueria with great menu options. Cash only! Super clean and excellent service! They have nice warm inside sitting area and clean restrooms available! I had a chorizo super burrito with everything on it and added their delicious spicy salsa and a delicious hibiscus flavored classic Jamaica beverage on the side! Cost was under $20.

Was very grateful to have stumbled upon this hole in the wall Mexican spot! Great spot to scratch the itch after being over served on the boats/casinos. The super extra spicy sauce was sooo good (actually is quite spicy), and wish I could bring a gallon home with me. The adobada was tasty, and the horchata was nice and cold and really hit the spot on a hot summer day. This will be added to my must hits when visiting south Tahoe in the future!

First off CASH ONLY. Now that that’s out of the way I can say how GREAT this place is! Everywhere in Tahoe is so expensive and underwhelming. Then I found this place! The burrito are huge! And only $10! The place is small but clean. The service was great as the woman behind the counter are bilingual and extremely friendly. We usually order to go but always make it a point to stop here when we’re in Tahoe. Again the burritos are huge and tasty! If you want some good food that won’t break the bank, come here. Bring cash.

If u craving for Mexican foods here in Lake Tahoe, I must say this one has good foods & deserve to give it a try!!! oltho we take it out and eat in wilderness( the take out destroys the presentations of foods😆😆)..the nachos, greenchilli pork and all of our take out was sooo good!!! The ambiance is just ok 3 out of 5, the service is good they're polite, waiting is around 7-10 minutes depend what u ordered!

Awesome family owned little taco shop!! We are staying at Harrahs and the walk down to this shop was about 8min. Definitely worth the walk. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and place was clean. And very affordable!! I ordered a super carne asada burrito and it's been a long time since I had a burrito as HUGE as this! I could not finish it in one sitting. If you are in the mood for Mexican during your stay in Tahoe, I highly recommend.

They have the most authentic and tastiest tacos, I loved their sausage taco!! The lady is very kind and it's affordable too! Great people!

Solid late night Mexican spot with the right food to fill your craves. Good prices. Only reason I’m docking a star is cause the tacos were a bit dry and lacking. Meat was dry and plain. Besides that, it’s a cute place with good quesadillas and salsa! Ate the tacos before I remembered to get a pic

Very unassuming restaurant right by our hotel. Only a few seats, very small place. Cash only. Food came out quickly, our waitress was very kind. We had chicken quesadilla and torta con panela. Food tasted great, prices very reasonable. Would come back if in Tahoe again.

I ordered the chicken quesadilla. It's pretty good! Everything is really well priced and you get a lot of food. I feel like the chicken quality could be just a little bit more but for $7.00 is not bad at all! I recommend you stop in! Be advised they only take cash. No debit or credit.

We tried this restaurant based off of the reviews. We ordered a burrito and tacos. The tacos really didn't have any flavor. The tortilla on the burrito was under cooked. The prices are very reasonable.

Place is very small and outdated trailer like taqueria Ordered tacos de asada. They were dry . Cilantro and sauce came on the side in a 1 oz cup . Tortas ahogadas not the best but are ok.

No chips, salsa, creama, jalapenos, carrots, napkins or anything else except a $26.00 receipt my wife paid in cash because they don't accept any other forms of payment. And knowing my wife she probably left a $10.00 tip. Thank you for your trouble.

The food was bland and mushy and not flavorful at all. The very small dining area was dirty and gross and the benches are broken and uncomfortable. The service was the absolute worst ever! The lady who took our order was rude and unhelpful and had better things to do. They only take cash which is so inconvenient I mean come on it’s 2026. I asked for a refund for the chicken bowl because my daughter tried it and could not stomach it, it was so bad. They refused to give me my money back because they said there’s nothing wrong with it and other people don’t complain. Also everything is served on paper plates and bowls with plastic forks. Everything about this place was terrible. Do not waste your money you will be greatly disappointed.
