From the moment we walked up to Corteza, the experience felt different. We arrived just before happy hour, expecting to wait outside, but Daniel—our server—noticed us, flipped the sign, and welcomed us in with the kind of hospitality you don’t forget. That simple gesture set the rhythm for the rest of the visit. Once inside, Daniel didn’t just take our order; he guided us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm, pointing out the dishes that define the restaurant’s identity. Only later did we learn that Corteza is a family‑owned spot, which explains the warmth and the sense of pride you feel in every detail. The oysters were the highlight—fresh, bright, and dressed so well that I immediately ordered another half‑dozen after finishing the first. Every plate that followed kept the same standard: thoughtful flavors, clean execution, and a clear respect for ingredients. Corteza delivered an experience that felt personal, relaxed, and delicious from start to finish. We’ll be returning soon.

What a fabulous find! We did Galentines day as a crew of three. Attentive service, delectable dishes and an ambience that made you feel pampered. Jorge, our waiter, was just delightful and cared for our table beautifully. 10/10

All around a must do experience. From the food to the service. The food is exceptional. With well balanced bursts of flavor. Interesting combinations that make the food a gastronomic delight. We had the seasonal tomatoes, glazed mussels, oxtail & fire and the basque cheesecake. I forgot to take photos of the other food we ate it 😊 Thank you Chef and staff.

A fantastic addition to South Miami. We came by for dinner and all I can say is Wow! Menu is limited but everything we had was phenomenal. Perfectly balanced and well executed. The croquettas were UNBELIEVABLE. Honestly the best I’ve ever had. The Oxtail and Fire was a big hit- tender and juicy. As was the chicken sando. Great portions. Amazing flavors. Exceptional service. Thank you, Mauricio, for being so nice and attentive!! We ate outside - place has great music and a fun vibe. Finished the night off with their Talamasca CHEESECAKE - which was divine - light and airy perfection. Not your average cheesecake by miles. We also tried the sweet potato flan 🔥 do yourself a favor and save room for this dessert!! This place is a must try. P.S they have a great happy hour from 4-7 M-F 🤗😎 And a Sunday brunch from 12-5 with Paella 🥘 We will definitely return!

Had an incredible night at Corteza. From the moment we sat down, Diego took amazing care of us. Super friendly, attentive without hovering, and genuinely made the experience better. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. Now the food, wow. The oxtail appetizer was unreal. Deep, rich flavor and perfectly tender. For the mains, every dish hit. The ribeye was cooked exactly right, the sea bass was light and beautifully prepared, and the lamb chops were straight up divine. Great food, great service, and a place that just feels right. Corteza is officially on our must return list.

If you’re looking for great food, look no further. This place was one of, if not, the best Mediterranean place I’ve been too. The prices were great, and the menu even better.
