Food was excellent, good tasting meat and home made pepper sauce. Price was great for 2 dining compare to other upscale places I would of paid $20-30 more, I've seen some negative review and it's really people complains about the price this is not a local fast food restaurant. This is an upscale place and again their price matches the service and is very reasonable.
Food was awesome... staff was great bill was fair...
My #1 restaurant in Queens, great food that’s absolutely delicious, fresh and the price is right. Friendly staff, always makes you feel welcome and your dining experience is amazing.. music always on point.
Flamingo Restaurant Rockaway, kudos to you on The quality of service, and the absolutely tasty food. Thank you Gail for coming through for us from The Consulate General of Trinidad and Tobago. Highly recommend 4 years later and the food is still fantastic .great job Asha
First time coming here with my wife and kids from Jamaica, I have to admitted I was impressed by the food, service and drinks. The shirmp Wontons was banging ! Our waiter was so amazing, always made that we were good. When you come here I most definitely recommend getting the wontons and having Nathan as your waiter !
Whether you go for the party or the wontons you can't go wrong. The dining experience in the lower floor does give you a great Caribbean vibe and the food is very good I was definitely surprised the first time I went (soups are great too) now for the upstairs can't go wrong with a nice song a beer and hookah (I heard Sundays are great)
I had this delivered from Uber eats on a Friday night. The food was great. I ordered the home style fried chicken, BBQ chicken meal and curry chicken with buss up shot. Home style fried chicken was my favorite! BBQ was good and the curry was passable. I wouldn’t judge this place too hard on the curry, because it’s not a roti shop, it’s a lounge. I would certainly buy this food IN Trinidad and be satisfied.
Food is delicious, but highly priced! I came here for my birthday recently, and dined in. I ordered curry crab with dumplings, and received a tiny piece of crab with tons of dumplings! The dish was very good, but it should be called curry dumplings with a dash of crab! I ordered shrimp wonton to go, and it was delicious!
Went to this spot for a regular chill night. I had Shrimp Wontons, Combination Lo Mein, and a Mojito. Would highly recommend
First time trying the food, it was Delicious and the Service was amazing. Prior reviews don’t do this place justice. Home made Sour sap ice cream was excellent perfect dessert.
Good memories have been made here, a bit on the pricey side but absolutely zero complaints about the quality of food and service.
was my first time there today we had ,wontons and 1/2 dozen oysters in shell , the oysters was really big and delicious then we had the house special fried rice, chinese style chicken and cha sui pork to share was more than enough food for two ppl , we eat and had food to bring back home, our server Meril ( i think i have her name spell right) was very nice friendly 10 out 10 .. great food, excellent service and will come again soon
I hosted a retirement party there in June and it was above my expectations. The food was great. The service was great. The way they decorated for us was great. The music was amazing. I loved everything about it. They blew me away. I would visit again.
Food deeeelicious and great portions! The staff is amazing and they pay attention to details. I will be returning over and over again!
Great food (little bit spicy but taste delicious) Great music Good drink overall Great environment from security guard, to waiter, to dj 10/10 go on weekend it's fun Great music you will feel at home. I will definitely go again in the future. Bring your plus 1 and dance the night away 10/10
Nice ambiance overall. Large space. Cozy booths, open well spaced tables and large bar... everything for whatever suits your needs, plus a large, well appointed roof garden. Suitable for family or after work drinks. Attentive staff.
Love the food appetizer i would recommend the shrimp wontons so fresh and delicious. I had the veggie fry rice, jerk pork and potato salad combo. my friend had the fry snapper with red beans with fresh salad . The food was excellent. We had The blue Long Island and the rum punch it was so delicious we ordered another round. As for the costumer service great staff they were very friendly with us, the staff would come to our table and ask if everything was okay . One of them stand out the most is Gale very friendly I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and my coworkers I’ll be going back there.
Gail!!!!! OMG She was amazing I cane back twice in my vist to New York just because of her customer service, she was kind loving willing to explain everything on the menu and after I got my food she kept checking in on me to see if we had all we needed, side note we were a group of 5 but we still didn't have to wait long for AMAZING service. Thank you GAIL I will be back.
Food was well prepared and tasted delicious. Price points were excellent. Service was poor. Appetizers came after the entrees and it took a long time for the food to come out of the kitchen.
Good Tasty Food, the atmosphere is lovely and there's a club upstairs if you want more entertainment in the evening.
I want this place a 5 star. My boyfriend and I visited Flamingo to have lunch. Food and drinks were amazing. Waitress could of been more attentive. Overall the place is nice. I think if the waitress was more attentive I definitely would of given this place a 5 star.
This is a nice spot for late night food and drinks. Everything else in the area was closed, and this spot was open until 1am to our delight. This location has a full bar and lots of delicious appetizers, food, and deserts to choose from. Tonight, we had the Chinese style chicken, house special fried rice, and steamed wontons. We are definitely planning to dine in the next time we visit.
The food and service was amazing. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a spice of Guyana during the weekday with friends. I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in and was served immediately. The passion fruit drinks, shrimp rolls, beef curry and chicken curry were AMAZING! Will be back and with friends!
Let me start of by saying this. I have been going to this place for years. I remember it was shipwreck and now its mantra. The food is great! The atmosphere is wonderful. However, I really hate to say this but I believe there is a roach problem. Roach feces was in the bathroom walls and sink. I was there last week. They really need to do something about that. But overall, I ♥️this place.
TriniAsian cuisine. The food was tasty. My favorite was the spring roll, which is huge. It's loaded with cabbage and carrots, a fantastic appetizer that's great for sharing. I also had their chicken fried rice, their chicken chow mein, and Chinese style fried chicken. By the way, they have this great hot sauce on the side in case you want to spice things up a bit.
Great place to hang out. The roof top outside great atmosphere in summer. Tried wings n dry snapper was ok
Very nice and casual atmosphere. Servers are very attentive. Food is very delicious. Drinks can be hit or miss according to the bartenders. SHRIMP WONTON is absolutely delicious. Bathrooms should be upgraded. They make enough money there to expand and upgrade . Maybe use some of the bar space to expand. Outdoor balcony upstairs is a nice vibe.
The food was good. I had no complaints. You can tell that they stretch their ingredients. The potato pie had more peas and carrots and mayonnaise than potato, and also found a macaroni in it. The customer service could have been better but no fault of the waitress. The waitress was really nice, but she needed some help, esp on a Thursday afternoon. She was taking orders, giving checks, answering the phone, giving take out orders, and that caused the lack of attention given to each table. A few tables ended up getting up to close off their tab, including myself. The drink was okay, nothing spectacular. I’d come back again though. Reasonably priced!
All the dishes I ordered has been well prepared. I enjoyed the shrimp wontons and it taste just like the ones in Trinidad especially with the ketchup, pepper sauce and soy sauce mixed together. The curry crab and dumplings was delicious, just wish there were more crab pieces in the dish. I wouldn’t have mind to pay extra for a few more pieces. I recently ordered take out of the veggie fried rice and it was flavorful and fresh. Overall, the food is good have authentic Trini taste.
While it’s common practice ( & legal ) in 48 States for businesses to pass along their CC fees to the customer, it shouldn’t apply to a bill paid for in cash. “Buyer beware”>>> pay close attention to your bill! Would encourage customers to adjust their gratuity accordingly.
If your going for the food or service it's a let down. Bartender blames host, host blames waiter, it's a blame game for why you didn't get your drink or food in a timely manner. There is a club upstairs which might offer better accommodations but if you just want food I would advise against it unless your to far from anything else.
Expensive drinks. Friendly service. Very diverse. Strange: smoke-filled room, drinks, and hookah, but with small children and families dining. I would recommend it. Went upstairs and it looked like fun, but didn't stick around to enjoy it.
Good weekend afternoon hangout by the rooftop. Wish they kept the bathroom and surroundings cleaner. The sodas and juices are flat and full of sugar. Waiters took a long time to come back to your table. They need improvements.
Here the food is delish. But! Gone are the days of service. I don't mind paying automatic Gratuity if I receive the service. But here if they know you, you get less service..and then, the Bill comes with an automatic gratuity. Seriously! But now I know I don't have to pay that if I don't want to. Please no matter who! Be on point!
Was over here for a birthday party celebration. Good West Indian Soca music nightlife atmosphere. There’s an upstairs and a downstairs. Music is good, food is good.. drinks were way overpriced for this part of town. You’d think you’re grabbing a cocktail from the city 🤷🏽♂️. I showed up it was October jacket season but no coat check. Shrimp wantons were clutch though. There’s hookah available and a nice little outdoor section if your heart so desires.
Food was ok but be prepared to wait at least an hour for it. There's a sign posted that the music will get louder at 11pm however around 10pm the music was blasting really loud. The waitress seemed very annoyed but I totally understand as she was dealing with alot of tables by herself.
Food was great music was nice service was friendly. When it was time for the bill I trustingly gave my card to run it. They added gratuity and didn’t give a receipt showing that, so I tipped again. I asked for itemized after that for business expense and thats when I noticed. Be cautious
I thought well of Flamingo Restaurant until my neighbor and I went there recently and saw a roach (twice). I called the attendant and told him. He became combative or perhaps embarrassed, saying that "Oh we don't see those things here". I asked for a discount and he refused. Had he only acknowledge and agree to address the matter, that would have been sufficient but this Restaurant lack of respect, care and or concern left an indelible mark on me. I hope this review serves as a wake-up call to the Restaurant that you do not disrespect the folks who keep you in operation. Please address the roaches and whatever else might me lurking in there. It is not only required for sanitary reasons but it is a LEGAL requirement to maintain pest-free conditions. I hope the local health department pays them a visit soon. No one wants to know that their intake is contaminated, and an owner refuse to acknowledge Good Customer service and care.
Ordered: Chinese Style Chicken Over Fried Rice I decided to try this restaurant because it is in the neighborhood and everyone says their food is tasty. I ordered a popular dish and it looked quite appealing. The portion size was great and I like the added fresh scallions. The fried chicken was crisp on the outside yet soft and juicy on the inside. My issue was with the fried rice, it was way too saucy and there was an overwhelming amount of diced carrots which tasted like frozen vegetables. The rice became soft because of the excess sauce that was added. This was the only item I ordered so I will order again and edit this listing depending on the food I receive.
The customer service here is very poor. My friend was served their signature drink the flamingo with a fly in it. He was told his next drink would be comp but when the bill came he had to dispute the charges. When we went to the upper deck were told we had to buy a bottle in order to receive table seating. So we abliged and bought a $100 bottle (750ML) of grey goose. When the bottle arrived it came with a 16oz bottle of chaser and we were told refills were $5 dollars each. I have never been in a club whose chasers were so small in comparison to the bottle of alcohol served. Not only that no other party sitting at the table had a bottle. I would not recommend this place. They scratch their prices off their drink menu and conduct shady business
Went on a Sunday night and there was an odor I can't describe (kinda smell like vomit).....they were putting up Christmas decorations which means patrons had to constantly move out of the way. In my opinion they needed to do that while the establishment was closed.
The service was marginal. The food was delicious. Our waitress was either tired or not interested in waiting on us; so much so, she forgot to order my main entree. . Luckily, there was enough on the table to share.
Please be aware this rating is very generous only because I order to take out only. My family has gone there in the past 18 yrs+. I honestly felt the environment was better when the restaurant was smaller down on RockAway blvd & 106th st. However when they moved to the location on Lefferts blvd and 133ave~. It was also okay but one evening boyfriend and was there this yrs ago i actually found a roach in my appetizer plate. Took me a while to eat from there again , since the mantra & shipwreck merge I only order to go and very selective. The management is not interested in upgrading with the times and not consistent. Just in past 2 weeks so sign about Bank of America and Discover card. I spoke to the older man who has been there he took my debit card payment. No problems today attempted to pay as normal and the worker explain that if the 2 senior workers aren’t there he could not payment. I appreciate his tip but I hate when management do not use proper channels to change there policies it makes it less desirable to go there.
The only thing good about Flamingo Restaurant is the shrimp wontons, and depending on the bartender, sometimes the drinks. The service from one female server sucked while the service I got from a gentleman was way better. Their food tastes HORRIBLE. Their jerk meats is not real jerk seasoning. Their bake and shark was one of the most bland I've tasted in Queens. They need a new chef. Mantra lounge is always lively but expensive for no reason. I can go to another bar/lounge with better food and cheaper drinks.
The food is ok , nothing special but some items are overpriced . Management is horrible and complaints from the staff that their tips are stolen if you leave it on card payments. This is a crime . I was there on Sunday and when I needed my server I was told he was busy only to realize he was washing dishes in the kitchen. Really? This is unacceptable.
Place need a bit mordinizing, dining room is old and outdated, decor is just too much, looks messy. We ordered combo meals which when brought out fried rice was cold and chicken was warm. We had to send the food back to reheat. Ftied rice was too soggy, chicken was not too bad.
I think this place has a great look and has so much potential. The staff here sucks though!girl Bartenders although pretty are snotty and act like they don't even want to help. Smiling never hurt anybody. Food is good and the elder staff members seem to care about the job more. The only reason this place is still booming with business on certain nights though is the promoters who bring customers in. If the staff worked as a better and friendlier team the sky is the limit for this place
Ordered food for take out which took almost an hour, took the food home as I live nearby, while it was hot, it definitely wasn't fresh. The fried rice was pretty tasteless, the "chinese style chicken" was quite dry like it was reheated, the wontons were crisp but didn't taste fresh, I've purchased food here before and it was better, I was quite disappointed in spending over $50.
I’m accustomed ordering from Flamingo 2-3 times a month. This by far is the most disappointing. I ordered the oxtail combo which comes with rice and lentils. All because I requested the separation of the courses they decided that 3 pieces of oxtail (2 medium size and 1 small) were sufficient, although I was told that would able to feed 2 people. To make matters worse the sweet plantains I ordered were old and seemingly overcooked. Guess I’ll go back to ordering from Nest.
Ordered food with my family to go. They have an extensive menu so we decided to get a few stuff to try. LORD was I disappointed. No seasoning, the food taste saltless.. I had to come home and add salt to my orders. This was highly highly disappointing. Do not go here please go elsewhere. I will not be recommending to any of my friends because this place is NOT it. Trust me.. if you try this place you will be wasting your money. SMH. A total failure to Caribbean food…
Traveled from Chicago to try out the food and was disappointed. I ordered the Oxtails ($36) upgraded the side for Mac and Cheese ($5) meal totaling to $41 Honestly I wouldn’t have minded the price if the food was good. The oxtails were a little tough and only received three pieces. The Mac and cheese was extremely dry. My friend had the Catfish and Grits and enjoyed it. Our bill was $140 for two entrees two cocktails and a lemonade Music was great. The bartender was great.
The food is tasty but I was disappointed in the portions and the way they cut the meat. So for the chicken fried rice, I was shocked at the meat (chicken was cut small like bird small) and there were not enough pieces. The calamari were cut in strips? Really, taken one piece of a circle and cutting it in strips ( did they not think customers would notice)? Don’t talk for the liquor, it’s basically non-existent in the mixed drinks and when you tell them they want to charge you for a shot. They NEVER PUT LIQUOR in their drinks. It’s not worth it for the prices they are charging.
My experience here was totally horrifying... i can't explain my frustration here with the service I received.. the customer service was great but the food sucks so much. More unfortunately it was mother's day. Too salty and the amount of food was skimped when served. I advise you guys out there to choose another hangout spot.
So I ordered bake and shark, fry calamari and black pudding. Everything was so over cooked to where the calamari was dry and shrunken up. The black pudding was so dry when you bite into it, it falls apart like a cake.
I wish zero stars was an option. Went here for drinks and they were so watered down and tasteless. The size of the drinks were disappointing and both drinks tasted rancid. We were charged a whopping $27.26 for 2 drinks we couldn't even finish. The place was empty and the drinks still took a while to come. Save your time and your money.
Upstairs the DJ is great! kept me moving. however and unfortunately my bartender was upset that I was asking her to help me. Legit walked away from me mid order and then got upset with me when I called her back. I really do enjoy this place but after that I can't see my self wanting to patron this place
I was here for the first time on Friday 3/8/2019. My fiancé and I, we got there around 6:35pm. Our drinks came at 7:38pm, our appetizer came at 8:05pm. Every time we spoke to the waiter why it’s taking so long she had a different excuse and said it’s coming. The best excuse was they’re busy, it has about roughly 25-30 tables in the restaurant only 10 had customers and the bar was empty. We ordered fried wontons, it was okay. Roast duck was ridiculously salty and a chicken fried rice that had no taste, then we found a hair in it. Overall bad customer service, very rude, unsanitary, unhygienic waiters. I wish I could give them zero.
I ordered a fried bangamary. I’m a regular customer here where I order from this place every week. This time I ordered the fried bangamary. The bangamary was so bad it was filled with salt. Literally you take your first bite and have to spit it out because of how much salt there is. I do not recommend ordering this. The food quality of this place is declining. Only good thing from this place is the shrimp wontons. That’s it.
My bf ordered food on 02/24/24 and I ordered jerk chicken and he had garlic shrimp chow mein , he found pieces of goat bone and meat in his food , THE JERK CHICKEN WAS OLD AND SAGGY .. GAVE ME DIARRHEA FOR 2 DAYS vomited non stop…. We was desperate NEVER DI HELL AGAIN .
The chow mein had the biggest vegetables in it whoever cut those up need to go back to training really big and obzucky, food was salty fried chicken and fried rice. Very disappointing, Wontons were good probably the best thing on the menu. Unprofessional wait staff Gail the bartender is very loud and snobbish. Owner was on the phone talking loud never greeted Customers or come over to say hi. Bathrooms are the worst. Food took extremely long to come out and was cold. Staff never suggest items and take way too long to come over to you, like they fraid you order more stuff..... We came from another state just to come here to eat waste of time and money.
If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. Went here to order food to- go and had two drinks while waiting for the food to be ready. The server gave us menus which we ordered from directly. The food was prepared and our bill was $70+ which didn’t make sense because the food that was ordered (with the prices from the menu” should’ve been $30. We brought up our concerns to the waiter and he said “my bad I gave you guys the wrong menu, our prices changed” we were NEVER informed that prices would be different from the menu prices. We asked for a refund or reimbursement of any kind and they were unable to provide us with anything. One of the chefs in the back came out and offered us an order of wontons (which wouldn’t cover the costs that we lost). This place was almost empty with one other couple dining in. The way everything was carries out was very unprofessional.
Very very bad service and pretty much back dated. The both bartenders were soo rude of customers. They can’t be a bartender. I had worst experience at this bar. The food was soo disappointing. I will never go again i m pretty much sure. The place was soo boring and sound system was soo bad u can’t stay there for sound system. The bartender can’t make the cocktails i was wondering. She was shouting with a girl customer. Very very bad. The owner should change the bartender. Otherwise they will lose customers every day like me. Thank you.
this was my go to spot for over 12 years plus but after years went by. They got over PRICED- vegetable fried rice $9.95 for a large foil pan which contains ONLY 2 cooking spoons of rice (not worth it) people !! jerk chicken Lo mein ( 3 small pieces chicken & very few pieces of vegetables, noodle like they are shortage, not a great idea of coming back here. better off going to liberty express $9.95 for a chicken fried rice hence bowled fully packed to the rim (2 people can eat from 1 bowl) & the food is good
Keeping this short & sweet: Don’t come here. They’ll scam you on your tab if they think you’re drunk & will add gratuity to your bill. Service is horrendous. Food is tasteless & possibly stale. Patrons at this establishment aren’t the best. Staff looks to be treated unwell. Just avoid at all costs
The place is freezing, so bundle up, maybe walk with a electric heater and bring your own power source. The staff has no manners, the kept on using the f word loudly when talking with each other. The food is nice but the place is very ghetto!
Mix reviews was here 1 year ago and the food was hot and tasty.. brought my parents to try it. The place was empty waited 1 hr for cold tasteless food extremely disappointed. Brought one dish out and then the other 15 mins later 😕. PAS menu item ask the price red snapper cost $30..
Ordered shrimp wontons from DoorDash and it’s usually always good. My last encounter was horrible. They now mix the shrimp with some type of fish, and saw bones in it, too. It was absolutely disgusting and dissatisfying. Never again.
Straight garbage they sell you food like it’s dog they are feeding every time I order rice it always has bones in it it’s like they are selling people food that customers didn’t finish everyone has the same to say about this place. And the owners don’t even care about the customers only to take their money for leftovers. Also look at the reviews they only answer to good reviews but don’t address the real problem don’t spend y’all money here guys not worth it 🤬👎🏽👎🏽
Don’t ever eat here. Upon entrance (6pm on a Friday evening) there was no one to greet or welcome us into the restaurant. The hostess/servers completely ignored us so we walked in and sat at an empty table. It took about 15 mins for someone to speak to us, the waiter was friendly but super busy so he couldn’t attend to us right away (although the restaurant was empty) the lounge upstairs had people so he was running up and down confused. We then order corn soup, which was eh … not bad but not good, I’ve tasted better around Queens. The vegetarian spring rolls were good, very large but tasty. The Vegetarian Fried rice was absolutely horrible, rice was hard, vegetables weren’t cooked and was overall nasty. The Vegetarian Lo Mein, was cold inside and just steam from the top, which has me thinking they just put it in the microwave (now that I sit and think about it) … and I felt so sick afterwards and even the next day I felt like I had food poisoning … they also included an 18% tip w/o saying anything or telling us that. I won’t ever eat from this place, avoid at all cost. Horrible.
Horrible experience, poor customer service, my grandmother moves faster than there. One chicken fry rice that I ordered on uber eats for pick up beforehand took almost an hour. The food itself, the rice was hard, full of salt I swear I have high blood pressure now. It was bathe with soy sauce. I was told their food and service sucks but I wanted to see for myself. A waste of money. While I waited people came in after me and got their order. One of the waitress even sat infront of me and ate a whole meal. This place do no take people time into consideration. They need to work on their time management skills because it's horrible and the food, well I do not want my post be any longer. I couldn't even eat it. I'm telling everyone I know to don't even think about going there. You better of with halal. If there is somewhere you need to be, order lunch at breakfast it might be ready by 1pm.
I dined there this week 12/19/2016 and it was recommended by someone. The food came out cold, the order was mixed up, water and water refill seems like an odd concept to the waitress. The appetizer was hit and delicious (wantons), the food was okay but poorly presented on the plate. Service was poor but the place has potential. The worst is the woman at the cash register was using our seat as a hand rest while she was talking on the phone...loud....and was watching interrupting our conversation! As a Caribbean person, we should not have to be subjected to poor service....we should be promoting our culture with class....
I went for dinner last night with a party of 4 people, the food is great and very tasty. My problem is the additional 18% gratuity they're adding, which is absolutely WRONG. The manager Gail claims the owner Geeta is doing this to the customers. My bills was $300 plus an additional $50 gratuity.... why? Gratuity is optional according to the service I receive not mandatory! Unfortunately I will not be returning to this restaurant and I'll be telling all my friends, family etc.... DON'T support this restaurant. Shame Shame Shame..... also I request a lovely young lady to be my waitress but according to the manager I couldn't request her because the manager was serving my table.....because of her being so greedy for a tip.... she got $2 on my $300 bill. Be careful people, double check your bill.
The food was terrible. My son loves a good steak, not this one. The portion was great but the taste, come not every thing you make needs sweet sauce. How does masala shrimp not have a hint of masala but sweet sauce? And the calamari, it was burnt 🥵 Lets not forget the 90 minutes wait for our food.
First. The food is good.. but If I could do 0 stars, I would because, We spent $200 for some wontons and fried rice.. The place is disgusting. The people are shady. Of course. There was a fight. Putting the others customers at risk. Truly ghetto. Buy your food and take it home to eat.
This is the worst establishment ever, i called my order in ahaead of time and i still had to wait 30 min at the restaurant. Once i confronted the owner she passed me off to the security. They dont know how to treat customers, nor do they care if they loose a customer. I order a fry shrimp wonton and they made into a sandwich with two wonton skins. Im telling you the worst establishment in nyc. Dont waste your time and money at mantra. Not even animals would eat this rubbish. This is the absolute worst food you can buy...
The food is good but the service isn't. The party upstairs can be nice especially in the summer but it gets very crowded with the tiny indoor space. However, the crowd here seems to always be looking for the trouble and the bouncers are useless. Edited to one star because the service is horrible. If you dine in, take out or order deliver they either take forever or claim to not receive order leading to order being cancelled (multiple times). HORRIBLE SERVICE.
Yesterday I carried my daughter and friend grand child to Flamingo Mantra Restaurant. We ordered curry potatoes with Chana and paratha and Chinese friend chicken with fried rice and chow menu and the last order was bbq lamb chop with fried rice and salad. To our surprise the food was not good. We were all disappointed. The curry had no taste. None whatsoever. The chow mein, I noticed that the sweet pepper on plate had mold. I called over the waitress, she had an attitude like when am I complaining about mold on my food. Never will I order food at Flamingo Mantra establishment.
Ordered Guyanese chicken fried rice and out of all the Guyanese restaurants I've tried, this has to be the worst. As hungry as I was, I couldn't force myself to eat more so I threw the entire thing out. The rice was bland and the chicken wasn't even cooked properly. Just disgusting!!!! I'll stick to pearl restaurant I just wish they delivered.
Customer service is the worst every time. Employees are extremely rude over the phone and just as bad in person. The shrimp wontons use to be delicious but ordered twice now and both time horrible. They were stale, dry, over cooked, under filled and honestly didn't even taste or look like shrimp. If the place wasn't so far I would of gave them the food back it was so disgusting
So, my girlfriend ordered a shrimp lo mein 2 days ago from this restaurant through Post-mates for me and I found a ROACH in it! When we call and ask what they going to do about the roach in the food that we found the lady that was handling the call she was so rude she said Post-mates give us a refund and that should be okay. She even added that “these mistakes happen” yeah, a roach in my food is a mistake according to her like it has happened before. I googled roach in your food can cause food poisoning and illness if anything happens to me I’m suing this whole restaurant they already have so much BAD REVIEWS ABOUT THEIR FOOD ALREADY!!
I went here for dinner since I was in the area. The server got my order wrong (steamed instead of fried wontons) and tried telling me that I’m the one who ordered wrong while I had asked if they had a fried option. Got shrimp instead of chicken like I had ordered, but at least they tasted good. Passion punch was nice but they messed up and made two instead of one. The real disappointment was the 18% gratuity added without my permission while their service didn’t deserve it at all. I wouldn’t go back here, and would never recommend it to anyone.
Went to this place for a chutney show 2 weeks ago, was told we can reserve a table providing we buy bottles which was all good I told them it would be 7 people , we got there to find out the “table” that was reserved was a small piece of seat that can barely fit 2 people the rest of us had to stand with our drinks on a white standing table throughout the night and was told by the owner if someone needs the table they will need to take it from us…..why are these people getting away doing this? Because the West Indian community in Queens tolerate and accepts this treatment and never complains because they are ok with it…we are not from Queens so this type of treatment is downright unacceptable! I’d never go back here for a show! Highly unacceptable!
Disappointing! 1. Ordered appetizer of roast duck... didn't get it up until we paid the bill. 2. Ordered Shrimp Fried Rice... got smoked fried rice... the food taste like smoked fish 3. Cow heel soup was so so thick. 4. Waiter is zoned out. Dude seems like he doesn't know what's going on... he is present in person, not in his mind. 5. Amaretto sour had no alcohol. 6. Lighted Puja incense in the enclosed space at 9pm in the night. As we was eating, I asked her what smells like that and she said, that they are doing the puja upstairs.. My niece and son has asthma and had to be rushed out of there. My niece is currently getting a nebulizer treatment because of this. I would love to support local businesses but the quality of food and the level of service needs to improve.
Dear owner of this restaurant, This is my first time buying food online. I ordered curry and rice in one bowl, and all I could taste was sodium. Worst curry in history. Smokey, terrible fried rice. This restaurant needs a new cook or to stop selling these items. Terrible food! Don't buy food from this place.
The staff is so unprofessional, the food they dont cook fresh they reheat it the food was still frozen inside. The only thing they make fresh is the wantons thats it. Everything else is in the fridge and will get reheat to give to customers. One time they had an event and somebody started shooting. I would not recommend anyone to eat here you will get sick.
First time ordering from mantra and it was very disappointing the fried rice was very salty also had lumps of salt grains in the food pepper shrimp is not even pepper shrimp and overpriced 2 small size portion for 40 dollars was way to expensive for 2 small fried rice dont go here. They Also sell fake liquor so be careful
I went Mantra for a ladies night out and was so disappointed, when we got there literally only two sets of couples was dining outside. No one else was in the dance area, DJ was good but no one was there to dance & enjoy. I left after 20/30mins mainly because it was still literally only me on the dancefloor standing. Went to another spot not too far which was more live and danced the whole night. It was my first time so it's worth a try, but I will not return for a night of partying. I'll maybe return for dining, cause it's more of that type of setting.
I’m very disappointed with my recent order. I spent $86 on several dishes, and the meal with the pepper shrimp and fried rice had a long straight hair in it. This is completely unacceptable and ruined the entire experience. Food safety and hygiene should be a top priority, especially when customers are paying a premium price. I was really looking forward to enjoying this meal, but instead I was left upset and unsatisfied. I hope management takes this seriously and improves their quality control.
The reviews aren’t lying! Ordered the Chinese style fried rice with a serving of wings on the side was not satisfied at all. There was so much sauce and the vegetables felt hard like it was just thrown into the food also portion is only for one meal. The wings is what really upset me about 3 to 4 were literally smaller than my fingers and this is coming from someone with small hands! Everything was absolutely tasteless wasted my money. Especially in the current economy I expected better for the money I spent.
