Carmine's Italian - Pasadena

Love Carmines for a very good, very reliable meal for lunch or dinner. Love, love the Stuffed Sicilian Chicken! Try not to get too stuffed on their bread - wArm, with olive oil dipping - sooo good! I highly recommend their food, service and ambiance. Happy hour is a great deal, so you might check with them on the times - and GO!

Trending upwards to 4.5. I just got takeout for the first time and like Yinpon said, I wasn't necessarily expecting much after wanting to try this place for a long time. That being said, it was really tasty-- from the soup, calamari, to the pasta (with pink sauce). The service at the front desk was great and everything was packaged nicely. Definitely exceeded expectations and now the wife and I want to try it again. To be fair, I did have the pizza like 5 years ago and don't remember it being anything too special but ready to give this place another shake. If they impress again, I'll probably bump up to 5 stars. Calamari- Crisp, good amount of breading, but missing tartar sauce. Good size for an appetizer with good pieces (not swirly ones). Minestrone soup- Taste was good and wasn't just the cheap kind you find in a cafeteria. Chicken Carbonara with pink sauce- Good size portion and flavor was very good, no extra charge for switching the white with pink sauce. Chicken was tasty and all the mix-ins were good. Overall very impressed and this is after trying some of the more esteemed places in LA like C&O and Fritto Misto. Don't know why it took so long to try it and glad I did!

Just avoid the place and get delivery

My Experience was very disappointing. According to Google, this restaurant is listed as being open until 10:30. I called at 9:58 to be informed that the kitchen was closed. When I explained that the site stated they were open until 10:30, the gal Yolanda, laughed and stated I was wrong that they closed at 10. I realize that various sites may have wrong information, however it is the businesses responsibility to check these sites, especially the most prominent one around being Google. Had I known their actual time, I would not have waited and ordered sooner. Now, I may never bother with them again.
