I had dinner with my wife on Christmas Eve at the wonderful Monica's. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with the smile of a wonderful waitress, a key part of the 5-star experience. The anchovies are amazing, perfectly boned and of the highest quality. The incredibly fresh fish, with Monica's touch, leaves a lasting impression. The desserts are delicious...a perfect ending. Congratulations, Monica, to you and your entire staff. If you're passing through Spotorno, don't miss this wonderful experience.

Good evening, Monica, this evening I felt at home coming to dinner at your restaurant. You can really feel the passion in every course, the service is attentive, and the timing is perfect. It's a shame the panna cotta was out 🤭🤭🤭🤭, otherwise I would have tried that too. We'll definitely see you soon.

Monica's "cellar" serves classic Ligurian dishes. We visited this small restaurant two evenings in a row and tested several dishes. It's so tasteful that a single dish leaves you craving for more. Super cozy place and very friendly staff.

This restaurant deserves my 5 stars. The location is nice and cozy, we had dinner yesterday night outside and being on a side street you don’t get all the people walking next to you while eating. The service is beyond excellent, the waitresses were nice, polite and professional. The food came in almost immediately, and was so fresh and great. Simple but special al the same time, so tasteful! It was so good that we didn’t even think of taking more pictures. Price is aligned with the rest of the restaurants in the area with the difference that you really get what you expect, service, food and atmosphere! I just loved it!

I was intrigued by other reviews and tried this restaurant, where we had a great time and everything was actually good. We had an appetizer, a first course, and a second course, but two desserts! xD I really liked the pesto gnocchi, and they told us they'll make them with chestnut flour in the fall. Must try!

Updated October 17, 2020. This place remains a memorable one, a must-have for anyone who wants to delight their palate with Ligurian foods and recipes expertly interpreted by Monica. Strictly local wines. Splendid! My previous review from 2019 Testaroli with pesto (as pictured): exquisite. Water in a glass: local. Wines: the best of Liguria. Amazing panna cotta: one of the few times it has no cheesy aftertaste and tastes like real fresh cream, with no plastic consistency and, above all, a delicious flavor. A highly recommended experience! It was accompanied by an excellent local passito wine, out of the ordinary, which I often find, for my tastes, too alcoholic, sugary, and full-bodied. The chef is very knowledgeable and very kind. The dining room serves excellent wines, so it's best to ask for advice. (And then there are the lovely people, which doesn't hurt.) A must-try if you're looking for a restaurant that offers the best of Ligurian tradition, expertly interpreted. Brave! I'll be back soon.

INCREDIBLE VALUE FOR MONEY. 3 appetizers, 2 first courses, 1 second course, 3 desserts, and coffee. Excellent wine and 3 bottles of water... Less than €120. The plating is worthy of the great cuisine, the staff are incredibly kind, and the wonderful chef comes out to greet every customer. True love for the area and for the restaurant. The only flaw is the location, which is a bit dull... but very clean, and then when it comes to the food... who cares!

A welcoming restaurant in the historic center of Spotorno, well-established in the village. A typical Ligurian menu with carefully prepared and flavorful dishes. The marinated anchovies with sweet and sour red onion are excellent, and the trofie with mussels, broccoli, and saffron are a success, balanced and fragrant. Friendly service. A positive experience, highly recommended.
