The only thing better than the food at Key's, is their family story, the origin of their restaurants. I'm sure all of their meals are great, but I can't get past the breakfast. Delicious Monster Pancakes!
This place was fantastic. When I and my group walked in the door, we was promptly created by staff, and the wait was only 5 minutes. While waiting, they offered samples of some of their baked goods all of which were yummy. I like the small cafe feel of this place and it feels very cozy. On their menu they have a nice selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I got the Option 1, which includes Eggs, Hashbrowns, Toast, and I picked bacon for my meat option. All of it was delicious and the portions are great! Their homemade jam goes great with the toast. Our waitress was friendly and the staff seemed nice too. I really wanted to buy a pie or bakery good, but our group was in a rush to leave after. Overall I love this place, and I'd be willing to take the 25 minute drive from my house to go here again. Update: Went for a second day in a row and tried their grilled cheese chicken tender sandwich and it was delicious. Also bought a few of their day old bakery goods and they were tasty.
My family has been going to Keys (and particularly the original location) for probably 30 years. They’ve never disappointed. As kids it was Barb, Jo & Roy who always chatted us up & made us feel like we were at the family kitchen table. Now it’s Jay & Jay is absolutely AWESOME! He remembered serving us at a different location & then when my daughter asked for an item off that menu, he made it special for her even though it’s not on the menu at the Original! We had some laughs and we’re right at home, as usual. The food was amazing, as usual. The portions were massive, as usual. Keys never disappoints & is always a guaranteed win for our family. I hope that my kids will take friends or even their kids in 15-20 years & be able to share similar fond memories to the ones I have.
The breakfast was amazing. The pancakes were perfect as well as the eggs and hashbrowns!!
It was a great experience! Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was great! I tried the Loon omelet with gluten free toast. So yummy!! Love that they support gluten free and still make it taste so good. Thank you!
I had a great time. The waitress was OG was a veteran of the place. Was greeted warmly, recommended her personal favorites and not just the special that day, and received the food surprisingly quickly. I got the Cajun Skillet with added avocado. It was incredible.
I love the raspberry pancakes here. They actually cook the raspberries in the cakes and they are delicious. Hubs loves the hashbrowns. We also love the omelets. Breakfast is always amazing here.
I like this place a lot, less polished than the other Key's locations but cozier and more neighborhood authentic. Friendly, if somewhat sassy, service is great. My husband ordered a hamburger patty with breakfast and asked for it well done. He ate most of it despite it being medium, and the waitress mentioned the error when she cleared our plates and gave us a reduced bill, without either of us bringing it up. Impressive and appreciated.
Excellent breakfast for the family & I. Cinnamon French toast was delicious! Portions were good size for the price and our server was so great. We got a peanut butter pie to go for Thanksgiving it was the most delicious dessert ever!
Keys Cafe and Bakery has great food and service! It's one of the few restaurants that can accommodate my healthy low sodium diet, which has made my taste buds more sensitive than they used to be. Keys Cafe and Bakery offers comfort foods without the food coma and without the persistent thirst. I've ordered the salmon special and the tender roast beef dinner, and they were delicious. Please note that there are other locations. (I did enjoy the oven roasted turkey dinner at the Roseville location several years ago, but this was before I was on my current healthy low sodium diet. As of this writing, I have not tried any of the other locations.)
I had "The Greek" an omelet with spinach, feta, hash browns. You could taste the freshness of each item inside it was so good. The pancakes were so delicious and the portion was big. 2 pancakes will feed two people. Coffee was great. Yum!! Waitress was so nice and didn't even need to write down anything she knew it all by heart. It was quiet and really nice when we went.
I'll hop on the fan bus. It's excellent and talk about an underdog! We were taking our daughter to MSP and wanted something sit-down to discuss logistics, totally happenstance. I cannot believe how attentive the staff was, how good the food was, and that they serve decent beverages. Cost is fair, certainly not unfair but not stealing.
The original Keys just tastes better. I also prefer the service an cozy old school atmosphere to the newer Keys.
Almost always fast service (not sure why my last visit was very slow). This was the first time. Always great food! The original location is always my favorite.
Amazing cherry shakes, we came in with a group of 7, pleasantly greeted and seated by Crystal. Only 1 was planning on eating since we had a big breakfast, 3 ate, huge portions, we can vouch for the chili, club house wrap and salmon. Raves on the cheese sauce too. Thank goodness we don't live close, I'd weigh 900 lbs. I would take a picture of the food, but we ate it all.
I love Keys. Been coming here for years.
Keys cafe on Raymond Street in St. Paul, Minnesota is family owned. There are other locations. However, I prefer this location. The food is always delicious, (homemade) and the staff are welcoming and efficient. I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner there. It's one of the best!
I have been coming here for at least 30 years and it is amazing food and service every time.
Turkey dinner was scrumptious. Best cherry pie I've ever had. Reasonable prices. Great menu. Also, our waiter Joey was the best.
Whether it’s steak and eggs, beef corned hash or simply sourdough toast with sunny side up eggs, this iconic breakfast joint between St. Paul and Minneapolis off of University on Raymond is where you get your fix for a hometown breakfast. To top it off the friendly waitress prompt service is the experience you are looking for. Get over there to get what you craving for.
What a gem!! I love diners that give you all that you expect... and then double it! I've eaten at other locations, and this one was every bit as amazing. I tried The Loon... which claims to be a 2 egg omelet with wild rice, mushrooms, Turkey and swiss. It was giant and absolutely delicious. Don't order if you don't like wild rice, because it was pouring out of it. The coffee was great and always full. Everything you want and then some.
First time at this location (4/22/25)! I've been to the other Keys cafe locations Except for woodbury, and Forest Lake! I had great service and delicious food at the original Raymond avenue one this morning! The strawberry stuffed French toast was delicious I would come back here again they are so friendly! I am a Keys Cafe fanatic!
Egg omelets were good, hash browns were crispy (very important), the steak was tender (amazing).
Really good breakfast! It's welcoming and vintage in all the right ways... and I think it feels the way a breakfast joint should. The service was friendly, and all three dishes ordered were great. Plus, it's the original Keys Cafe! I'd definitely go back.
Stopped in during my first few hours in MN. Loved this place. We enjoyed the biscuit and gravy omelet and a #1. Be sure to come hungry! We took cinnamon rolls to-go.
Keys on Raymond always has Great quick service. My server was very attentive and checked in on me quite often. As always the food was delicious and served quickly and piping hot. The portions are quite large and worth the price. I have loved going to this location since 1991. Always very clean with a well taken care of dining room which emits a friendly inviting atmosphere along with their awesome outstanding service, making this my favorite “to go to” spot. I love how they have never strayed from offering great home style large meals and hire such wonderful dedicated staff to work there!
All I can say is they have really great food the portions are large the prices are low and the people are very friendly and everything is made from scratch very yummy they're everything omelette for $11 is huge and their pancakes look like huge dinner plates and they bake their bread daily homemade bread pies and desserts there's cinnamon rolls are really big and all the food is delicious The Loon omelette is very good too if you like wild rice and mushrooms and I recommend the ranch breakfast which comes with eggs anyway you like hash browns in your choice of bacon sausage pork chops or a steak for 12 dollars give or take some change he's Cafe located on Raymond Advocate just off of University so historical little building restaurants been there for a really long time and the owners are good friend of mine. You will not walk away hungry when you eat at Keys Cafe😁😊😁
Keys Café is a true St. Paul gem! The food is hearty, homemade, and full of flavor — exactly what comfort food should be. From their fluffy pancakes and perfectly cooked eggs to their fresh-baked pies and breads, every bite feels like it’s made with love. The staff is incredibly friendly and treats you like family, and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere makes it hard to leave. Whether you’re here for breakfast, lunch, or just a slice of pie, Keys Café never disappoints.
You want great, plentiful plates of freshly made food from breakfast to dinner dishes? Of course you do. The food is amazing and the service is fun and friendly. Not a frilly place, but the food and service are the stars! Prices are a bit above average and worth every penny!
Visited a longtime favorite from my days in Minnesota. Ordered an omelet with Italian sausage, cheese, hash browns, and onion. We also needed a caramel roll for old times’ sake. The omelet is not your traditional rolled or even a simple folded with an appropriate ratio of filling. Instead you get a giant mound of filling encased in a crepe. Outstanding. The caramel roll is also one of the best essays of its genre: ultrasweet, over the top.
We didn't know that this was the original Key's prior to going. It's small and has a lot of history. The staff was very friendly and the food, like the other ones, was amazing!
This is the original (first) keys cafe. It was fantastic! I look forward to going back to try other yummy options on the menu.
This was our first visit to Keys, and we were not disappointed. We went on the recommendation of a friend. They were crazy busy, but managed to keep getting people through quickly. Tracy was a great server. My daughter loved her waffles and bacon. My French toast was perfect! We will definitely go back
The chef, Jay came out briefly and spoke to the patrons. I am a traveling superintendent and I wanted him to know, that I’ve been all over the country and I seek out the best breakfast nooks anywhere and everywhere that I go. Jay ultimately has made in my opinion the best omelette I have ever eaten in my 51 year life. If you haven’t tried Jay’s, everything omelette, try it you’ll love it! Worth mentioning, the ladies running the show here are incredibly awesome! Happy wonderful, very nice people working this restaurant.
Been coming here since 1991. Food is always fantastic and the staff is as nice as it gets. The coffee is awesome too.
Lunch with a friend took me to Keys – the Original, on Raymond. We both had BLT sandwiches. Here’s the lowdown on all the components. The bread was perfectly grilled, tender and crisp and tasty. Lettuce was crispy and just the right amount. One thin tomato slice on each half seemed a bit sparse. The meaty bacon was cooked well, but the rind edge was like eating rock shards it was so hard. That’s more to do with the meat than the cooking. The assembly was odd – all the ingredients were bunched in a single heap in the middle of the sandwich halves. An easy fix as we simply redistributed the foods to even out the sandwich. I ordered a caramel shake and it was divine – extremely thick and rich but almost impossible to suck through the miniscule diameter straw. I ate it with a spoon instead. All in all certainly a good value for the price.
No parking in the back. Street parking with pay machines. Just good, plain food. Big breakfasts so be hungry! Nice staff. Have lunch and then it's a hop skip and a jump to Willie's American Guitars. Total hipster experience.
It's an old hole in the wall cafe that won't appeal to everyone but ignore the setting (which is nice but not fancy) and love the food and service. Food is breakfast through dinner favorites and the service is friendly and fast. And the bakery is added points.
first time to Key's and it was great. Service, atmosphere and most important, the food (breakfast) was fantastic. Lisa the server was friendly and managed to serve the entire restaurant herself. Portions are huge and coffee was excellent. I would recommend and will definitely be back for breakfast.
Stillwater is awesome! Great consistent food, wonderful service explains why they are always busy. Too bad some people have to be so incredibly rude when restaurants are busy. Watched a crazy rude guy plop at the bar tonight thinking he should be waited on ahead of other diners that were already seated, causing a scene. Felt bad for the bartender when he acted like a 4 yr old and snapped at her and another. Almost embarrassing but they took it in stride and handled it so well! Now go try their chicken salad sandwich on cranberry wheat bread, and be kind!
This location is the original Keys Cafe, and it still has its retro-70s charm with countertop seating, wood paneling, and a small, cozy atmosphere. We go for the comfort food, like a wild rice omelette or blueberry pancakes. The service is generally quick with friendly staff to get you whatever you might need.
Key Cafe is the perfect spot for a cozy breakfast experience! The homestyle food and coffee are absolutely delightful, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They truly make you feel at home, refilling your coffee with care and serving up delicious sourdough toast paired with homemade jam. Every visit feels like a warm hug, and the atmosphere is just as inviting as the food. I absolutely love this charming cafe and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and satisfying breakfast!
Keys Cafe is, in my view, a very Iconic breakfast joint. It has stood the test of time for a reason....absolutely amazing food. It's a casual cafe that has an old town classic feel. The waiter, Phillip, was what every waiter aspires to be. He was attentive but gave us our room to converse and enjoy the great grub. He was energetic but not overbearing, and he made perfect recommendations. We both got the number 4 with Italian sausage. I got 2 pancakes, and my wife got 2 french toast thanks to Phillip. Our food was brought out in a very timely manner. The american fries were delicious. Perfectly fried, so every bite was crispy. The eggs were cooked as we expected and were great to dip the potatoes in. The Italian sausage is and continues to be the GREATEST in Minnesota. Juicy, full of spicy flavor and large patties. The pancakes are fluffy and monsters in size. The French toast was sweet, paired nicely with butter and syrup. If you haven't eaten breakfast at this Minnesota legend, then what are you waiting for.
Old town diner with some fabulous food. I love diners like many of you, and Keys Cafe is one of the best. Everything was perfect to order. I had the Italian sausage with eggs and fluffy crisped French Toast with a cream cheese buttered whipped spread. Let me tell you, ask for it this way. This is the way the family eats it. Of course, our server was the grandson of the founder. I think the other grandson was in the kitchen cooking it up. As simple as the breakfast was, it came with love. I'm happy I asked what their favorite was. My wife ended up getting the blackened salmon sandwich. It was the first time I've seen her smile all day. She was in heaven. She had the salmon between sourdough bread with a lime creme fresh dressing. She was so amused singing while eating. Keys Cafe makes up for quality service, awesome flavor, and great cooking makes up for presentation. If you ranked home cooked a meal a 10, this would be a 12. If you want a home cooked meal like mom or grandma, go to see the grandsons at Keys Cafe.
Visited for Sunday brunch and began with a neat mimosa that hit the spot. I've always loved Keys for the large portions and this was certainly true again. The Cajun Skillet I had was exactly to order and tasty! I love ordering with my eggs over easy rather than scrambled. The serving staff was attentive and kind but also a bit brisk by nature and there were minor language barriers. Would definitely eat here again!
Hey y'all so this was my 1st time at this Restaurant. Didn't even know about this little Gem.. but they have these Cinnamon/ Carmel rolls that gotta be home made 💯 because when I took that first bite I instantly stopped my movement because the taste was so dangerously good I was actually upset about something that happened right before that but totally forgot why I was upset when I tasted that Roll . Amazing! Hands down!!!! Go get one for sure! 😉
The food is always amazing. Feel like it's the last place where you can get good pancakes anymore. The service is not the best. We didn't receive any beverage refills, and they forgot part of our order until we were just about done eating. It's small and cramped, had my knee hit once by a serer as she came by, but the food makes the experience more than worth it. I'll be back again and again.
Go-to breakfasts since before I was born. Since the owner took the time to respond I feel like I should give a more detailed review than my general "four stars". Don't get me wrong, Keys Cafe is absolutely the place to go for a pretty solid breakfast. Which is why it gets 4-stars. We're not talking blow my mind epic food, or service that can't be topped by anyone. We're talking a place that if you're looking for breakfast you should heartily consider. The food is always well prepared, their coffee isn't terrible, and it's exactly, and I mean exactly what you've expect from an established and respected Twin Cities institution.
Nobody can deny that this place is known for great food and sweet, motherly waitresses. Biscuits and gravy is to die for too. I gotta say though- every time I come here there’s more than a few annoying ass flies that try and land on you and your food. That said- that won’t keep me Between me and the classic Keys Cafe experience.
I've eaten takeout from here a few times, the best things on the menu IMO are the raspberry iced tea, biscuits with sausage gravy and the chicken fried steak. Strongly recommend those, really refreshing and filling, well-seasoned and the biscuits are tender. Skip the breakfast burrito though, it fell apart instantly because it was loosely wrapped, and had weird fillings (uncooked bell pepper, maple sausage, uncooked flour tortilla, no seasoning or salsa). I'd eat here again, but know what to get and what to avoid.
The food was good. We did take out so we didn't get the dine in experience. Definitely will go back again.
Nostalgia always wins when we make our annual visit to the ORIGINAL Keys Cafe location on Raymond Ave in Midway area. Delicious coffee, prompt service, clean although obviously well-used.Sweet Potato Fries were delicious, Salmon sandwich only so-so, hamburger just ok. Food here is more bland than the other 2 Keys Cafes where we've dined.
My stand-by, faithful local diner always offering favorites and steady service. It was a busy brunch but there was no one waiting when I arrived so I took a small booth. A server who isn’t my usual server skipped placing my order, and I was overlooked for 15 minutes. The busser made sure I got coffee. While waiting after my order was finally taken by my lovely and sturdy server whom I have always been cordial to, the non-usual server made a backhanded comment. She said “people would pay you for your booth”. Okay. So what. Were they here at 10:30? Did they wait until 10:45 for their Order to be submitted? Did I look like I was sad to waste the booth space? The truth is, I made a decision to come to the restaurant and spend my dining out money for my birthday. I decided to eat alone. It wasn’t sad about the other people waiting. When I arrived, there were three empty tables. Do not ever tell a customer to move unless you’re ready to offer a complimentary offer, or make a more courteous approach. My server forgot my fruit. I got hashbrowns. I didn’t worry about that. I asked for my fruit. I will be back for good service. But grey-haired lady, you need to not be rude like that. Blonde sturdy lady (lisa?) love her to pieces. Bussers, all wonderful. replace that counter server; sit her down; she needs an attitude adjustment.
Our 1st time to the original...cool atmosphere...real dinner feel. While i do still love the foshay location more this was still very good. The French toast was different than the foshay and some other keys. Also the cinnamon rolls were not like or as good as the other keys locations. One thing my wife noticed was the orange was not fresh squeezed either. I like a good minute maid machine orange juice as much as the next guy but come one for these prices we can get a better effort on the juices...just sayin. I had the corn beef hash with the brisket which was amazing . Also the pancakes are huge !. Check it out ...tough parking situation but great staff.
This is probably one of the Original Keys... I had breakfast, and proved to be a very good place for breakfast! The prices are good the portions are huge. The atmosphere is rustic... Love It! Kind of reminds me of old time Mom an Pop places. You might wanna arrive early, seating is limited and it kind of felt like one would have to wait a bit to get seated. But if I remember correctly it is a seat yourself type of place. I cannot complain, the food was good but I have had better at other Mom and Pops, do not take me wrong the food is good but not really something to write home about. I think these chains are known for their hot sandwiches, and they are definitely awesome. But the breakfast does leaves something to be desired. Will eat there again in a heartbeat!
Since I was only here to work for a week. I asked some of the people I was working with what dishes were popular in the area. Minnesota wild rice soup was the most mentioned. I ended up here because of that dish. This place is definitely an old school diner. I ended up getting the wild rice soup. Despite it looking like blah 😂 it was very good. The rice was cooked well which can be a challenge when it comes to wild rice.
The Cajun skillet was really great! Tasty Good Philly cheesesteak too. The pancakes were fluffy good texture but I think some of the batter had a little bit too much vanilla. Good service, vibe though it can be a little bit tight and squishy when its busy (since it’s an older restaurant) and yeah. Martha Krista was just fine no complaints
The food is great and you'll have enough for leftovers but some dishes can be kind of pricey. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy a sit-down meal at your own pace.
Excellent food! The waitress needed to be reminded about a few things. Every few minutes, a cold, rather forceful air was blowing right at us - sitting at the wooden booth tables by the window. I wish I'd brought long sleeves.
The waitress was very polite and helpful with a charming smile. The ambiance was cozy and cute - with enough noise to make you feel you are in a social setting but not too much noise. As for the food, we were split: there were 6 of us, four people gave their food a 4 and 2 people gave it a 5. The Ranch breakfast was very good, the steak in it was super - delicious. The hash browns were under cooked.
Edit: My family was very excited to return to this beloved restaurant. I just wasn't overly impressed with my meal. I had the special blueberry stuffed French toast and a side of bacon. I was expecting some real blueberries maybe scattered on top. It had too much gooey cream cheesy mix blueberry mush inside and on the top. My husband and daughter did not complain about their meals. I just found it rather lacking this visit. I wish I would have returned the bacon. My French toast came out first and I had to remind the server that I ordered bacon. So I'm pretty sure it had been sitting around for a while. I will probably go to a different Keys next time. Has gone downhill since last visited. Bacon was served cold, and taste was bad. Questionable cleanliness.
Maybe our waitress was having a bad day? the service was terribly slow and not even that busy there for a late weekday lunch. Pancakes were good... Asked for crispy bacon - it was rubbery. I didn't get the 1,000 dressing for my Reuben until after I asked again... My friend didn't get her toast with her meal. All the other Keys cafe restaurants have been great... This one I would not return to. ( Also, parking was a challenge, and have to pay for street parking).
Definitely one of the more average experiences that I have had. The food was adequate. Definitely more expensive but not the most expensive I've had. They were incredibly busy which is nice to see but they definitely needed a few more staff. The pancake we got absolutely was made on a part of the grill that cooks other food which resulted in a salty pancake. The omelet with gravy is a good choice it was decently tasty and was a great portion size. Definitely not somewhere I'll go more but wouldn't advise anyone to stay away
Waitress was great, food was mediocre. He and I agreed that the food was really under seasoned. He felt his cut of steak was cheaper than it had been in the past, and my loon omlet was luke warm. This is our favorite Keys. Disappointing.
First time experience with the Key’s cafe. Three of us dined there, ordering food to wait time was unexpectedly long. The waitress did not even bother to say what’s going on in the kitchen! I ordered a hamburger, which comes with either fries or choice of vegetable. I chose celery and it was completely rotten. Though I enjoyed the burger but I didn’t expect the them to serve this rotten celery; I notified the cashier and told her that, if that would be serving the sandwich; I wouldn’t bring this to the table.
The philly sandwich was good. The friday came out soggy. My friend had a I'm the California. Turkey, deluxe and the bonds were still in it. And where I must take thank you. If i'm two cookies, they rock hard
Well i am very sad that I am giving a formal college fave a low rating but I'm trying to be as unbiased as possible despite all great memories we had here back in the day. Well although our server was nice she legit admitted that she forgot we were there hence we had to hunt someone down after sitting for over 20min looking at the menu. 😳 Now the food... The people who i with said their omelets were good but my breakfast sandwich that is picture was a whole other story. It was extremely dry, it lacked flavor and it was just not good. Very disappointed overall.
We’ve been to other Keys Café locations around town, so we decided to check out the original. We seated ourselves in the narrow bar area, which put us in pretty close quarters with the waitress. Naturally, breakfast wouldn’t be complete without pancakes, so I ordered some with blueberries and banana. While they arrived piping hot, the pancakes were denser than expected—not as fluffy as I hoped. I also tried the Benny with ham, which came recommended by our waitress. Unfortunately, the hollandaise sauce wasn’t to my taste—it leaned more on the sour side. The bacon was a bit tough, and the coffee was just okay—not great, but not bad either. One thing I noticed was that our waitress had a habit of handling our coffee cups by the rim instead of the handle, which felt a little too “hands-on” during our visit. Lastly, for those with dietary preferences, they only offer regular milk—no alternative options like oat milk, which I found out when I tried to order a Chai with oat milk. Understandable, but worth noting.
The worst keys experience I have ever had. Got my daughter's order wrong. She ordered a meal and just got tenders. No fries, toast or coleslaw... When the fries did come, they were not done... No toast. Caramel roll just came out of the oven and was not done in the middle. My pancakes were made with almonds instead of blueberries. The server took my cup of coffee for a refill and had her fingers all over the sides where you drink (instead of the handle). Our entire meal was all brought out piece meal. Nothing came at the same time. There is a fee for when you pay with a card, which is new to me. We did get some charges taken off the bill and I still left 20% because it wasn't entirely on the server. In hindsight, this key's location always seems to run a little differently than the others. My best experiences are downtown STP. I will never come back to this location.
The food was not good. Been to several locations and this the worst experience. Hash browns were burnt. Asked for jelly three times didn’t get it. My partner asked for crispy bacon and received rubbery bacon. Server got lost and Had to ask another server to get coffee. Won’t go back to Raymond location again
Had to wait ten minutes for someone to take our order, then I walked up to counter to make the order and asked what to do, finally got someone over to table to get us water, meal arrived sort of messy on plate and the noticed a/c unit in middle of room blowing cold air on high speed which sort of cooled down the food quickly as we prepare to eat waitress never came back once to ask how food was or if we needed anything, then when we finished she never came back so had to go back up to counter to ask about bill, the worst thing is there were only 3 customers in the place, not properly managed and definitely hired help not trained, will not be going back to that Keys again , very bad experience!!!!
Having eaten at many Keys over the years, this was disappointing: Everything omelette was good But cold Oatmeal was late, cold and a watery mess with no taste. Sent it back and waiter wanted to know ‘if we wanted to take it and cook at home
Order a Caesar salad with chicken. Took over an hour to get. The salad was iceberg lettuce chopped salad with cheep parmesan on top. Didn’t even have croutons like the menu stated. The cost of the salad was $26. I’ve been to the other keys cafe’s and this one is not as good.
I ordered a chicken sandwich for take-out. It was the worst sandwich I have ever had. The chicken was so dry and tough I threw half of it away. The service was poor. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and I waited over 20 min.
I’ve never had a poor experience at Key’s. Today I ordered the Loon omelette, ate about 1/3 of it and took the rest home. I went to finish it for dinner and found 3 rather large pieces of turkey bone in the omelette. The service was also poor, the server had to come back to ask our order after just taking it and he charged someone in my party for coffee when they didn’t order it.
The food was nasty and they need a new cook! I really waisted my money! I will not will be returning please Dont even waist your time walking in there!
I'm so disappointed with the service and food quality!! I ordered steak and eggs, stake medium with light toast with a coffee.. There was a hair in my coffee, my steak was well done, and my toast was burnt. I waited for the waitress to check on me but she was too busy sitting at a guest table too busy talking and enjoying with her friends. At that point I got up from my table and walked to the kitchen counter to speak to the cook and ask him if he could remake my food the guy had an attitude ignored me and walked away. Once I got back to my table and shortly after they brought nothing back except some toast that the waitress and the lady that was cleaning the tables were touching without any gloves.. I don't want to sound mean but the waitress looked filthy, definitely not a person you want near any food.. I really hope management can make some staff adjustments or retrain the current staff and teach them better customer service..
To start on a good note, our service was splendid! Server took care of us quickly and made sure to fulfill all of our needs but unfortunately the same cannot be said about the food. Got biscuits and gravy and the biscuits were incredibly dry and stale which as a breakfast chef, I have never encountered as the gravy usually substitutes the moisture. Hashbrowns were a bit too thick so the outside was very crispy but the inside was still pretty cool to the touch. My partner got the hilltop and needless to say that also left quite a bit to be desired.
Grub hub was fast but didn't knock, just set it on the porch. Bones in the turkey. Dressing that didn't look like food at all. And the order was not complete or correct. The manager was nice but the cooks need to be retrained or replaced. Extreme disappointment 😞
Came in and the sign said seat yourself. There were plenty of empty tables to choose from. Found a spot and sat down. We ended up waiting 15 minutes for water to be served and 30 minutes for the waitress to show up. Prices are on the high end considering.
